Chapter 102: Battle at the Beast Grave Canyon (East) V
[Beast Grave Canyon]
Quickly blitzing his way through the snow and corpse, Junaid rushes towards Gundahar as he wielded his lightning enhanced battle axe, as he instantly arrived before the killer of his brothers and swung up his own weapon against his foe. Likelihood Gundahar foresaw that rapid dash coming from Junaid's movement as he tanked the blow coming from his attackers battle axe while also quickly countered back with a hammer slam imbued with his frost aura.
However Instead of dodging, Junaid redirected the force of the hammer towards his side by the use of his battle axe as he delivered a follow up double swing right across Gundahar's thick frost armor. Through that Gundahar was taken aback as took a few step backwards, before being push away by the force of Junaid's enhanced third gutter swing which forced him to move back once more.
Standing his ground Gundahar raised up his aura which completely froze the air around him, as he moved forward and proceeded to attack back. Due to his aura being raised, it even made it hard for Junaid to simply breath as the air around him froze into ice which is under control of Gundahar's domain.
A domain is a specific name towards an effect in an area which is completely influenced by the mana or aura of a certain person, it order the very nature itself to be drawn to one's advantage. With Gundahar completely taking the lead due to his frost aura, which thickens the air in the area into solid, its suppression to its opponent would literally be a huge deal since it will affect his opponents performance.
At that, Junaid begun to become wary of his surroundings as he realized that he would die the moment he makes one wrong steps in handling Gundahar.
Enveloping his body with lightning in order to lessen the suppression of Gundahar's domain, Junaid then rushes forward as he used his remaining energy wisely and deliver a blow after blow after blow towards Gundahar.
Every time that Gundahar tried to attack with a swing, Junaid would always dodge such an attack and counter back in two fold. This continued on for quite awhile which drove Gundahar back steps after steps. Each steps he takes, the closer Gundahar would be on the edge of the bridge. Since he cant Kill the person easily, he would then take the gamble and drove him into the corner before finishing him off by pushing him, off the bridge.
Junaid is not quite sure on how deep the canyon is, but since the bottom wasn't visible to the naked eye, he was then quite sure that such fall would kill someone so big and so strong as long as he is a human. With such thought in mind, he continued on his counter plan to the point that his swings finally dealt a significant result towards Gundahar's armor.
Since his swing carried weight and it is currently enhanced with lightning, Junaid's attack naturally contains a lot of force which was reasonable enough for Gundahar's armor to take damage the longer it was exposed to such a degree of an attack. Thus while t6anking the attacks, Gundahar turned his attention to what's behind him and realized that Junaid was planning to push him off the bridge due to the circumstances that was given.
Realizing the plan that Junaid's harbor, Gundahar then stopped tanking the former's attack as he tackled him with his whole body forward, which literally destroyed Junaid's momentum and made way for him to counter back. Using his hammer, Gundahar made waves after waves of ice towards Junaid as he slowly moved forward which negates the former's initial plan.
However Junaid wouldn't give up that easily as he blitz his way through the gap[s of Gundahar's attack as he cuts off his continuous swing and struck him down him lightning itself. Unfortunately before Junaid could chain his attack, Gundahar suddenly rose up above him and struck out a grab and choked him with just one of his hand
The moment Gundahar caught Junaid within his hand, he then ran forward as he jumped into the air and slammed him down towards the hard snow ground which once more shook the bridge. After that he dragged him over across the battlefield , through the snow, before throwing him forward, and smacking him away with his own hammer.
In just one smack, Junaid was blown away by the force of the attack as he crashed unto one of the people fighting on the bridge as he struggled to even get up as a backlash from Gundahar's hammer attack.
Quickly gasping for breath, Junaid hurriedly tried to stand up from the ground as he searched for his battle axe which he lost grip the moment he crashed down on the crowd of people. Quickly searching through the field while his whole body ache in pain, he then saw Gundahar slowly approaching from afar as he massacred any warriors that tried to block his path. Either killing them with his hammer or freezing them to death, in the end those warriors ended up dead on its tracks.
In that moment Junaid finally found his weapon lying across the field as she was shocked by the unforeseen circumstances he had to face in order to just retrieve his weapon. Apparently his battle axe was lying near Gundahar's path, If he want to retrieve his weapon, he would naturally need to go head on against Gundahar without any weapon in hand. But since his battle axe was the only weapon that could handle his aura and give him a fighting chance against Gundahar, he has no choice but retrieve his weapon at the risk of his own life. No matter what, he cant back down in this war.
Letting out a roar to steel his nerves, he then charges forward as he evaded Gundahar's swing by sliding across the ground and reach out his hand towards his weapon lying on the ground. But before he could take ahold of his battle axe, Gundahar quickly pulled back his shoulder as he enact a swing, forcing Junaid to take a dive to doge the attack.
After dodging that attack, Junaid countered back with a multiple punch combo to the face, before pushing away Gundahar with the force of his chest punch. The moment Gundahar slid back, he then once more reached out his hand for his battle axe lying on the ground, as this time he was smacked to the side by Gundahar's swing.
Tumbling across the ground, Junaid quickly got up using all of his strength as he ran forward while picking up a pile of snow from the ground. Using the pile of snow, Junaid then threw it towards Gundahar's face, completely blinding the latter, as he quickly followed it up with multiple punches towards his face.
The moment Junaid forced Gundahar to kneel, he then skipped over him as he reached out his hand towards his battle axe and finally maned to retrieve it from the ground. Using his full force he then turned around completely enveloping his body with electricity and slamming it down towards Gundahar followed by a thunderstrike coming from above.
From that attack, the first blood between them then spilt the ground, as its red hue completely tainted the white field.
Apparently just as the thunderstrike struck down from the sky towards Gundahar, The person himself quickly utilized his frost aura towards the ground and struck up an ice spike right towards Junaid's leg. Due to that when Gundahar's whole body was roasted by lightning, Junaid's leg on the other hand was pierced by an ice spike protruding from the ground, causing blood to be split between them.
Gritting his teeth as he endured the pain, Junaid slowly breaths in as he swallowed his scream and showed a firm front towards Gundahar. Unfortunately the struggle in his eyes didn't escaped Gundahar's observant gaze. Forcing his half paralyzed body to move, Gundahar reach out towards Junaid's neck as he draw him into a choke before slowly raising him up into the air.
But before he could fully lift him up, Junaid then reacted fast as he smacked away Gundahar's hand off his neck through brute force before roaring back and swinging down his axe. However the moment he did such a thing, Gundahar simply avoided his swing by tilting his body sideward, before quickly countering back with an uppercut from his free hand and sending Junaid flying away from the force of his attack.
After he sent him away, Gundahar quickly gathered his aura unto his fist as he struck his body hard enough to actually knock away the paralyzing effect of the lightning out of his body. In actual fact, the aura he used on his fist literally pushed off the foreign energy out of his body in one full sweep in just contact from his concentrated aura. Due to that he was able to recover quickly to the point that he could stand up and charge out towards Junaid in a quick succession.
As Gundahar swung down his hammer unto Junaid, the latter then quickly rolled to the side in order to dodge his attack, as he quickly countered back with his own swing from his battle axe in his blind area. However Gundahar quickly reacted from such attack, as he evaded the swing, before taking ahold of Junaid's arm and throwing him above his shoulder towards the ground in front of him.
The moment Junaid crashed unto the ground, he then quickly followed up by kick top his head which caused Junaid to be dazed or a bit, before he finally swung up his hammer and blew him away using only brute force.
From that attack, Junaid could clearly feel his bones breaking as he ache in pain the moment he crashed back down to the ground. Gundahar was just too strong for him, he couldn't even count how many time's he had already fallen while fighting against him. He fought against him with an intent to avenge his brothers, unfortunately his rage wasn't able to fully compensate his lacking talent art all.
In front of a person who bore such talent in fighting, Junaid simply stood no chance at all.
At that moment when he saw Gundahar slowly approach him in his exhausted state, he then lost all meaning of winning as he cant afford to fight any longer. His body is riddled with injuries, his bones already showed signs of breaking, his energy depleted, his prime has already left him, at that moment, at that time, at that scenario, he was nothing more but an injured old man struggling to survive for the sake of his family, nevertheless death was inevitable, as the person who would kill him slowly approach him step by step.
However instead of finishing him off for good, Gundahar simply looked at him solemnly as he asked for them to surrender.
"Just give up! Its already over! You've lost! There's no point in struggling"
In that moment, by those words, Junaid felt mocked, humiliated and disgraced. Her was asking for them to surrender their cause and submit to them, something they cant afford to do for the sake of their family. No matter what reason why the eastern front declared war on them, they were quite sure that it wouldn't end well for their family that they tried to protect from their enemies.
The only future that a loser in war would have was either slavery, or a plaything to the winners, there were no freedom in accordance to surrendering towards the enemy sides. Plus if he were to do such thing, he would be disgracing the death of his brothers and dishonor the cause of all the people who died in battle. He cant let such a future be for his family who will suffer from a wrong decision.
"Surrender? I cant do that.... I would never surrender to you"
"Then looks like you need something to convince you"
Raising up his hammer, Gundahar crushed Junaid remaining fine leg as the person himself screamed in agony and pain from having his leg get crushed under the weight of the hammer.
"You've already had your leg get impaled by my attack, your remaining leg get crushed by my hammer... without your legs you have no chance on winning against me, GIVE UP!!! this is my last act of mercy towards you southern tribes"
"Argh!!!! Fricking Bastard! Hypocrite!!! How long will you shame me? Just kill me if you want to!!!! Kill me!!!"
Amidst Junaid pained cry, Gundahar slowly approached the crippled warrior as he tightens his hold unto his hammer and plans todo exactly what the warrior wished. After all he did offered him a means to surrender by trampling down on his pride, unfortunately Junaid just wouldn't budge at all despite his threat. Thus without further ado, he then plans to end it all once and for all.
However just before Gundahar could raise up his hammer, Junaid then knew that the end was nearing for him. No such miracle would ever come to his aid in front of death itself. He already knew he lost and doesn't stand a chance against Gundahar the moment he lost his legs, but that doesn't mean that he have to let him win and destroy everything he wanted to protect.
If he was going to die, then it was much better if he could drag him down with him to the afterlife. He knew that Gundahar was the base and core of the eastern front's strength, once he takes out Gundahar, he knew that the eastern front would be held back by this massive loss of attack power as this would give the chance for the southern front to reinforce their defenses.
With that in mind he then gathered all of his remaining strength and aura unto his battle axe causing sparks of lightning to erupt towards the surroundings, shocking Gundahar. As he quickly revealed his bloody toothy grin before slamming down his axe towards the ground himself. Without any context at all, Lightning coarse through the ground bypassing any obstacle in the bridge as its destructive force literally target the supporting rocks which held the bridge in tact after all this year.
Once the bridge is destroyed, the eastern front would literally lose any means of invading the southern tribes on their eastern side.
The moment the lightning accurately hit the supporting layers of the bridge, the bridge then slowly crumbled as it shook violently and begun to get destroyed starting from the middle of the bridge itself.
Upon seeing that the bridge was crumbling down faster that anyone could run to safety, Gundahar then quickly inputted much strength unto his legs as he plans to outrun the crumbling bridge faster than anyone could ever do. With his own physical trait, he was quite confident that he could outrun the crumbling bridge itself.
However the moment he readied himself to run, Junaid quickly got ahold of his heel as he anchored him down to his place while muttering out a single line.
"Your coming with me!"
"Crazy bastard!!!!"
With Junaid anchoring him down which delayed his escape, the ground beneath him then completely crumbled down as he got drag along the moment Junaid fell into the depths of the beast grave canyon. No matter how much he struggles, Gundahar couldn't remove Junaid's grip as he roared out in anger while falling into the darkness below accompanied by Junaid's satisfied expression.
Followed by their fall, Callan, Gundahar's sworn brother then cried out his name as he saw him fall off the bridge and heads towards his death at the bottom of the canyon. Since there is no record of anyone surviving the fall, Gundahar slowly accepted his fate as he falls into the depth of the darkness while entrusting his family towards his sworn brother.
With the bridge crumbling down, thus cutting off the connection of the eastern tribes and the southern tribes, the battle at the beast grave canyon finally came to an end as such battle bore a heavy loss from both sides and many deaths from their own respective leaders.
