ARC 1: His Red Haze
"Congratulations on your success, Nagisa-kun," Korosensei, Headmaster of Celestia Academy: School of Angels greeted the moment he saw the bluenet pass through the corridors. "I heard the Father awarded you your fifth wing."
Nagisa smiled curtly, then closed his eyes and willed for his feathered wings to show up, turning Korosensei's already huge grin wider.
In a world where Celestial Beings existed beyond the imagination of those in the Living Realm, the number of merits one receives signifies his worth. Be it for a chance of rebirth, or to stand at a higher pedestal. Creatures immortal and non who are bound to the Almighty Creator, are not exceptions to this principle.
In an angel's case, merits are equivalent to wings.
In Celestia Academy, they train newborn angels for two years, preparing them for missions given by the Father through his seraphs and archangels, as they progress. After being educated, students are given the chance to choose whether they would like to stay in Paradise or the Heaven Realm, to serve and watch over the world with Him, or become reborn to live a second lifetime on the Living Realm.
For the first choice, the angels will be moved to a ministry with different mentors who will train them until they are ready to level up and perform different missions- depending on what field they are suitable in.
On the other hand, if they want to be reborn, they must spend another four years in Celestia Academy and receive missions through the Headmaster. In each successful mission, the angel (or angels if it is a collaborative mission) will be awarded with a wing. Once you have earned the sixth and final wing, you will receive the promise of a second life with the timeline and age of your own choosing.
"Thank you, sensei. I think I will receive my final mission in any of these days. I just hope I'd do it well."
"You don't need to beat yourself up about it, Nagisa-kun." Korosensei tapped his shoulder to comfort him. "You are one of my best students, and I'm sure you will do great."
Suddenly, a sharp but soothing gust of wind blew past them revealing a scroll to which Korosensei now held, indicating that a new mission was sent.
"Speaking of. Nagisa-kun, would you like to do the honor?" Korosensei asked then lent Nagisa the piece of paper holding the details of the person he was tasked to reform.
He accepted it, but when he read the document, he knew that his final mission would prove to be the most difficult one. Because judging by the name, the human would be quite hard to handle.
