Tyr
For the first time since their meeting, Tyr watched Nyx leave his side with what he almost wanted to call regret. He had seen the worry for her companion in her eyes, and felt the distress radiating through the air around her.
Until that moment, he had no reason to know that kind of emotion could fill another person, let alone for them to feel it about another.
What would it be like to feel that way for an actual being you had created? If anything were to attack his creations, would he feel the same way?
Shaking his head, Tyr turned away from the spot he had found Nyx kneeling so helplessly on the ground. The almost distressing thoughts about her emotional state were pushed to the back of his mind as he strode back to the side of the large water he had been contemplating before being so rudely interrupted.
It did not take too long for him to find his way back to the shoreline, gazing at the lapping depths of water. The motion of the gentle waves as well as the sparkling of starlight on the water was mesmerizing. Without realizing it, the soothing sound of the waves against the shore calmed his still rushing thoughts.
"Do ya like th' waves?" a rough voice asked from beside Tyr, causing him to quickly turn to face the stranger. The look that came to his face must have been a sight to behold because the new figure burst out in a spout of booming laughter.
The man standing next to Tyr was only slightly taller than him, but he was round about the middle, almost as though he had swallowed a large rock that got stuck in his stomach. His hear was long, dark, and straight, but thin where it reached down his entire back. On his face was the same long, dark, thin hair that reached down just as far on his front as it did at his back. The hair was not enough to hide his bright red, round cheeks. All in all, he seemed to look very merry.
"I dinna mean ta startle ya so," he managed after managing to contain the great laughs. As off putting as he seemed, the laughter also made him a bit approachable as well. "I jus' woke an' you were here. So I thought I'd come an' say 'hello'. Doesn' seem like there'll be much chance for that if it's jus' you an' me."
"Trust me, there's more than you and me, you'll know when you meet Nyx," Tyr assured the other man, the gruffness coming back to cover his initial initial shock. He looked between the jolly man and the giant spreading water.
"You are Oceanus," Tyr declared, no question in his words or tone of voice. That was the only person it could be. "All the water is your domain. I am Tyr, the land and plants are mine."
"I don't know 'bout all water, bu' the stuff out there, sure," Oceanus answered, still grinning. Without warning, he held a meaty hand out over the lapping waves, and almost eagerly, the water rose to caress his skin. "I was thinkin' it's a bit lonely out there. You got yer green things here. I'm gonna make things ta swim around in all th' water wi' me."
Tyr watched the reaction of the water to Oceanus's will, and was impressed at just how little effort was shown at the manipulation of his element. It was like the water only wanted to please its master. It reminded him of the joy he felt as the first small plants jumped to fulfill his wishes.
Beautiful.
"Things to swim with you?" Tyr asked, making sure he understood Oceanus's words. The way the Ocean spoke was harder to understand than the words both Nyx and Polaris had shared with him. It seemed as though all of them were truly as different as the parts of the world they controlled.
"Aye," Oceanus agreed, not looking frustrated in the slightest as he played with the water that he had brought up into his hand. The simple joy of that motion was clear in his stormy, gray eyes. "Th' depths deserve more love than I can give 'em meself. I will learn how, an' then all sorts a things will live in th' water."
Tyr nodded his understanding before he sat down on the shore, trailing his feet into the lapping waves of the water. "It will take work, but I know you will be able to succeed. If your Power works as mine, I will help you learn to harness it. And I can promise to create plants for your depths for your creations to enjoy."
Oceanus did not reply with words, but rather with a loud whoop before dissolving back into the water with a splash. This would truly be an adventure.
