Nyx
Prior to that moment, Nyx had never known just how long the journey from her home in the Darkness to the surface of Tyr's home. Perhaps it was just because of her worry for the limp Polaris in her arms, but the time stretched on and on. Through it all, the Star remained limp in her arms.
The first thing she did when she had returned to the smooth surface she was still so proud of creating, was lay Polaris flat. When that was not enough to wake him, Nyx knelt by his side, smoothing back his hair. Perhaps she imagined it, but he seemed to relax more at her touch.
But it seemed that was not enough to wake Polaris, instead he seemed to fall into an even deeper sleep.
That was even more worrisome to Nyx's mind, especially when he seemed to stay in that state for what was beginning to feel like a very long time.
She found herself restless before too long,
Carefully, Nyx shifted from beneath Polaris's head, returning it to the smooth surface. Reaching up, she took the shining blossom from her hair, and with a small surge of her own power, she planted it upon the clear surface. As she rose to her feet, she smiled softly at the sight of the dark haired figure looking so at piece with the gently shining flower casting its soft silver light on his pale skin. She hoped that the light would help him to recharge his Power while she went to speak with at least some of the other Stars.
Nyx traveled far and wide through the darkness of the sky that spanned between the individual Stars. She stopped to meet each and every one, Naming them, teaching them to speak, and encouraging them to start exploring what they could do. And most of all, she informed them of overusing their Power, lest they too fall into the sorry state of Polaris, their brother.
Meeting all of the Stars was a true delight for Nyx. Each had their own personality and feeling they lent to the air around them. There were some as prickly as Tyr, and some as delightfully innocent as Polaris, and even more that fell between the two.
As different as their personalities were, their colors and the intensity of their glow varied as well. There was the bright, scorching light of the star she named Sirius, the gentle, yet piercing blue light of Vega, and the almost red-orange, welcoming light of Sol.
All of the Stars were beautiful.
All of the Stars were a delight.
And slowly, for they moved one by one, as Nyx moved from Star to Star, they began to move toward the surface she had made soar above the ground. This movement delighted her almost as much as meeting them all. When Polaris woke, it would be with his family about him, their lights guiding him home even as he would guide them from that moment forward.
And if Nyx could be certain of only one thing: these were her children to cherish forevermore.
