Chapter 12: Finding Libby
Abandoned Warehouse in Lincoln, Nebraska
Eliza drew her Sword from her sheath as she slowly crept towards the warehouse, staring up at the crumbling building and gulping. It had been years since she last saw it but she didn't remember it being this damaged. Then again, she and Nadia had been in quite a rush to leave and find the Winchesters.
Letting out a shaky breath, Eliza pulled open the heavy metal doors and pushed back a wince at the loud squeal the door released. If Nadia couldn't sense her before then she could now. A scream erupted from one of the corridors that stared back at the blonde demon. The scream sent shivers down her spine and she recognized it immediately: Libby.
"You bitch!" she heard the redhead screech, gasping for breath just before another scream pierced the air. She couldn't even imagine the pain that Nadia had put her through.
"Just tell me how to get into the warded Bunker and I'll let you live," Nadia said in a sickly sweet voice. Eliza's breath hitched in her throat. The wardings kept Nadia out...for now. If she found a way in then all three of them were as good as dead.
"Torture me all you want, Nadia. I'll never betray the Winchesters," Libby hissed through gritted teeth. Eliza slowly approached the corridor where her voice drifted out the strongest and tightened her grip on the hilt of her Sword.
"Libby, you can't hold out much longer."
"Watch me." Another scream rang out and Eliza winced, ducking her head down at the pounding sensation in her skull. She wasn't sure if it was from Libby's scream or a spell Nadia had cast, but when she looked up she found her mother staring straight back at her. Eliza's green eyes widened and her throat dried out.
"Elizabeth," Nadia greeted, pulling her dagger from Libby's body. Libby hung her head and started to pant, letting her eyes flutter closed as the wounds slowly healed. She paid no mind to Nadia and Eliza, only focusing on the diminishing pain. It was the only thing that let her know she was still alive. It was the only thing that gave her hope. "I knew it was only a matter of time before you found me."
Eliza straightened her posture and swung her Sword around in her hand. Her gaze fell to Nadia's dagger before rising back up to her vessel's cold brown eyes. "I had help." Nadia arched an eyebrow, an amused smirk tugging at her lips.
"The Winchesters? I'd hardly call them help, sweetheart," Nadia replied with a soft chuckle. "I haven't heard much from them. They're too focused on taking down Abaddon with that old hunk of bone. Have they found it yet?" Eliza stayed silent and narrowed her eyes at her mother. Nadia let out a sigh and nodded, glancing away. "Yes, you're here to merge with Libby. I know." Libby's head snapped up at her name and she followed Nadia's gaze with wide eyes.
"Elizabeth," the redhead choked out in fear. Eliza glanced towards the archangel and sent her a reassuring smile before looking back to Nadia. "What are you doing here?"
"My job," Eliza said simply as she started to approach her mother. Nadia could see the determination in Eliza's eyes. It brought a smirk to her lips and her hand shot up and grabbed Eliza's wrist just as she swung the Sword at her mother.
"You really don't want to do this, Elizabeth."
"Oh, but I do."
"Why? So you can lose your precious Sammy? I let you go, Elizabeth. It's best if it stays that way," Nadia growled. Libby watched in confusion and fear, desperately tugging at her chains. "You love him and now there's nothing standing in the way. No attraction to Dean; no morals; no threats. I gave you what I wanted so why would you go and ruin that?" Eliza scoffed and shook her head.
"I don't love Sam. I never did. It was all just an act. He was dying and needed comfort," she told Nadia. The words rolled off her tongue so smoothly that Libby almost believed it. Nadia was too conflicted to notice that Eliza had swung her leg around and swept the brunette off her feet, knocking her to the ground. Nadia let out a grunt and reached for her dagger. "You harmed Libby enough. It's my turn to hurt you now."
"If you kill me now, Elizabeth, then who is going to bring you to Gabriel?" Nadia asked. Eliza froze, her lips parting in shock as she stared down at her mother on the blood-stained concrete. Libby stopped her struggles and eyed Nadia with a similar expression. "He's alive. He'd never be stupid enough to let Lucifer kill him."
"I don't believe you," Eliza hissed.
"It's true. I swear."
"I watched him die. I held his body in my lap. I saw the scorch marks of his wings. There's no way to survive an archangel blade." Eliza's voice wavered and a small part of her wanted to believe her mother. She wanted her uncle to be alive after all these years. She wanted to be able to run into his arms and listen to him tell her how proud of her he was. She wanted to hear him tease her about her relationship with Sam.
Nadia shook her head. "He's alive. I saw him."
Libby glanced between the two, conflicted, before her gaze settled on the blonde. "Elizabeth, don't listen to her. She's lying," Libby pleaded. Eliza glanced up at her angel half. Suddenly the redhead gasped and her eyes widened. "Look out!" Eliza's head snapped back towards Nadia just as the dagger was plunged through her stomach, a cold, dead, stare locked on her from Nadia's eyes. Eliza's lips parted slightly and she stared down at the dagger in shock. "No!"
"I don't need you." Nadia pushed herself off of the ground and jerked the blade up to Eliza's chest, earning a yelp from the blonde. She desperately tried to hold onto the life in her vessel. She wasn't about to break her promise to the innocent woman inside. She had promised Katherine that she'd come out of this alive and she was going to do just that. "You're weak. Pathetic. You're just an abomination to our kind." Nadia's face was inches from Eliza's as she glared into her green eyes. "I've wanted you to die since the moment you were born."
"You're forgetting something," Eliza choked out, her gaze never leaving Nadia's. "Our blades don't kill us. The only thing you've done is harm the woman I'm possessing." Nadia furrowed her eyebrows and cocked her head to the side in confusion. She watched as Eliza pulled the blade from her stomach, her eyes widening when she popped out the crystal.
"No," Nadia whispered.
"You've just handed me your life. And you call yourself Heaven's Demon. Our kind is much smarter than that."
Libby watched as Eliza threw the clear crystal onto the ground, springing up from the ground and slamming her boot down on it before her mother could react. Nadia screamed out, tears lining her vessel's eyes as a bright light flashed throughout her body. Nadia collapsed to the concrete, staring up at Eliza with fear as her daughter hovered over her.
"I've been waiting to kill you for awhile now." Eliza raised her Sword, ready to drive it through the brunette's chest, when Libby screamed out for her to stop. Eliza's head snapped towards the redhead in confusion.
"Don't kill her," Libby begged. Eliza's head tilted to the side slightly and she squinted her eyes. "Nadia despises humans and that's just what she is now. Death would be too kind. Just let her go. She has no power. She's trapped in that body forever." Eliza stared blankly at Libby before turning back towards Nadia. The blonde swung the Sword around and sheathed it, walking past her mother and towards Libby.
"She's right," Eliza said as she reached up and picked the lock to the handcuffs that Libby dangled from. "Death would be too kind." Libby slumped down, all of her weight tugging on her right arm. Eliza quickly picked the other lock, catching the redhead before she could fall to the floor. "I've got you."
"Don't hurt me," Libby whimpered. Eliza chuckled and shook her head, steadying the angel.
"I'm not going to hurt you, Libby," she said softly. "We're getting out, Princess. I have a feeling Sam and Dean need our help."
~*~
Libby collapsed into a chair in the middle of the War Room, her body slumping down slightly. Eliza glanced over at the redhead and handed her a glass of water with a small smile. She took notice in her appearance for the first time, fighting back the frown that threatened to escape. She looked like Hell. Dried blood was like a second skin on the archangel and her clothes looked as if someone had thrown them in a shredder. Each rip and tear was outlined with blood that Eliza assumed to be Libby's and she could see the wounds struggle to heal from the dagger.
Libby eyed the water warily and shakily reached out to take it, never meeting Eliza's eyes. The blonde pulled up a chair and plopped down in it, crossing her ankles as she eyed Libby. Eliza's lips were pursed in thought, her head cocked to the side as she studied the archangel.
"What?" Libby questioned, pulling the glass from her busted lips. Eliza sighed and shook her head.
"Nothing. It's just odd looking at you."
"Almost like looking in a funhouse mirror?" she questioned with an arched eyebrow. Eliza chuckled and nodded.
"Yeah," she agreed quietly. The two celestial beings fell silent and the demon started to tap her index finger on the armrest of the chair, letting out a sigh. "I'm not sure when Sam and Dean will be back."
"Where'd they go?"
"To find the First Blade." Libby's head snapped up from her water and she stared back at the demon with wide eyes. "They haven't called me yet so I can only assume they're alright. I hope they are."
Libby nodded slowly as her gaze dropped to the blood stain on Eliza's shirt. Eliza followed her gaze, frowning down at her shirt and sighing. She raised the hem and studied the smooth skin underneath, shaking her head.
"Your vessel...who is she?" Libby inquired. Eliza cleared her throat and dropped her shirt back down to cover her torso.
"Her name's Katherine and she's an actress. That's all I know, really. She keeps silent for the most part and I never bothered to rifle through her memories. I just needed her for familiarity. She wasn't happy with my sudden presence, but I promised her that she'd make it out of this alive and well," Eliza explained. Libby nodded and gestured to her own hair, waiting for the demon to continue. "Not my idea."
"I see," Libby muttered. "So Katherine...is she still alive, or did Nadia...?"
"She's still alive," Eliza replied with a relieved smile. "I managed to heal her in time. She'll be good as new once we merge, which we should probably do soon." Libby's eyes widened and she sat up, staring at the blonde in disbelief.
"What? Merge? Eliza, I don't know—"
"It's the only way, Libby. Trust me, I'd rather not be Princess Libby again but in order to stop Metatron and The Darkness we have to be whole. Two halves running around isn't safe. There're two of us running around which means two more Marks of Cain. As if Dean isn't enough." Eliza sighed and shook her head. "Besides, it'd be better for the boys if we were whole again. One less thing to worry about."
Libby opened her mouth to reply when the Bunker door flew open, slamming into the wall followed by a string of grumbled curse words that the two women could only assume came from Dean. Libby twisted around in her chair to see the brothers making their way down the stairs, Dean's fists clenched at his sides. Eliza arched an eyebrow as she watched them.
"Gathering from the pissed off expressions, I can safely assume you did not find the First Blade," the demon greeted in a monotone. Sam shook his head, never looking up as she threw the duffel bag down on the table.
"Oh, we found it, alright. Almost lost Dean as a collector's piece in the process." Libby furrowed her eyebrows at Sam's words. "But Crowley took it." Eliza shot up from her seat, the chair rolling back a few feet.
"What do you mean 'Crowley took it'?" she roared. Sam sighed and looked up, shrugging.
"It means that Crowley was there and took it. He—" Sam stopped when he caught a glimpse of red hair. Dean looked up upon noticing his silence, his eyes widening at the sight of Libby. "Libby?" The redhead smiled weakly at the Winchesters.
"Hey," she croaked out. Sam and Dean averted their attention back to Eliza.
"You got her?" Dean asked. Eliza nodded as if it were obvious. "And Nadia?"
"Human. I crushed her crystal."
"But she's not dead."
"Nope."
"Why?"
"Humanity is worse than death in her eyes," Eliza replied with a smug smirk. She looked over to Libby with a proud smile. "It was Libby's idea. Who knew our princess had a bad side?" Dean pulled the redhead out of the chair and into his arms, gripping what was left of the bag of her shirt.
"You're okay," Dean whispered against her blood-matted locks. Libby laughed and nodded, wrapping her arms around Dean in return.
"I'm okay."
Sam and Eliza exchanged glances before the latter sighed, lowering her head. She hated to do what she was about to do next, but it was vital. "Guys, I hate to interrupt this reunion, but we have an issue."
Dean and Libby pulled away and turned to look at the blonde in confusion.
"We're vulnerable when separated. It's time we merged. I was waiting for you two to get back before we did it," Eliza finished. Libby's lips fell into a frown.
"But I don't want to merge. You'll take over."
Eliza nodded her head to the side, rocking slightly in her standing position. Sam eyed her warily, wondering just what the hell was going on in her mind. Libby waited for an answer and Dean watched in curiosity.
"Not exactly," Eliza started slowly, refusing to meet anyone's eyes. "Some of my personality will take over, yes; but we'll be back to the old Libby. Snarky, sarcastic, pure, noble, Princess Libby."
"But you said—" Eliza cut Dean off immediately.
"I wasn't lying. The only difference between Libby and I are the morals. She's managed to kill as an archangel now. The Libby in front of us is exactly how she is the moment we crawled out of Hell. With me, she'll have all of her memories and powers and we'll be strong enough to take down whatever threat is thrown at us," Eliza explained. Sam, Dean, and Libby all exchanged glances before Eliza focused on Dean solely. "I know you want Libby, I do, but unfortunately it may not stay that way. Look, the longer we're separated the weaker we get. I'm sorry, but we have to merge."
"How long do we have?" Libby asked softly.
"A couple weeks at most. Nadia was draining us out. Slowly, but surely. Truthfully, I don't know what's gonna happen after. I don't know if we'll die or become human, but I don't want to do either," Eliza replied. Libby turned back towards Dean whose face fell. He met her gaze and forced a smile on his lips, nodding.
"You have to do it. Everyone needs you at full potential and without it..."
"I know."
"Princess, it's better if we get this done and over with. I'm sure Katherine wants to go back home after today's events and I'd rather not be blonde anymore," Eliza deadpanned. Sam chuckled and cocked is head to the side, studying the demon half.
"I don't know. The blonde's kind of grown on me," Sam admitted. Libby and Eliza both scowled at the Hunter, narrowing their eyes.
"I'm not dyeing my hair blonde," they chorused. Dean raised his eyebrows and let out a laugh while Sam just raised his arms up in surrender. Libby turned back towards Eliza and nodded, taking a few steps towards her.
"Okay. Let's do this."
Eliza eyed the redhead warily. "Princess, you've gotta be one hundred percent willing to do this or it won't work. And once it happens it cannot be undone. What happened was merely an act of Metatron playing God. There's no turning back after this," the demon told her. Libby sucked in a sharp breath and nodded.
"I'm sure. You say it's the only way to win and you're right. In order to kill Abaddon we need to merge. I'm willing to do that." Libby's gaze dropped down to the Mark of Cain on her wrist and she rubbed it uncomfortably. "I'm willing to do anything if it means we can stop her," Libby added softly. Eliza's lips curled into a small smile and she nodded. Dean crossed his arms over his chest.
"Alright, so how does this merge work?" Dean questioned. Eliza glanced over at him and let out a tired sigh.
"Some hand holding, a lot of Latin, and a lot of creepy magic," the blonde replied. Dean opened his mouth to respond but stopped, not sure how to even reply to that. Eliza chuckled before returning her attention to Libby. "Understand that even the smallest bit of hesitation or doubt will keep us from merging. It's vital that you trust me. Without that trust we're just doppelgangers holding hands," Eliza explained to the redhead. Libby nodded, sucking in a sharp breath. She locked eyes with Eliza and her body relaxed.
"I trust you," she said honestly. Deciding not to question her words, Eliza reached out and grabbed her wrist, gripping it tightly. Libby did the same, mimicking her actions.
"Close your eyes and focus on the merge." Both girls closed their eyes, their chins raised slightly.
Sam and Dean took a step back, watching warily. They had no idea how this could go.
"Confundantur in omni animae. In bonum in malum, et malum bonum. Convenerunt in unum reducet et nostra memoria. Proferet in lucem tenebras filia reliquum æquale erit tamquam bellator vivimus vigemusque humanae caliginis."
Sam and Dean exchanged glances, struggling to understand what she was saying from how fast she was speaking. The Bunker started to shake and the lamp on the table next to them rattled in its spot. Sam's gaze jumped around the Bunker but Dean was focused solely on the two celestial beings in front of him.
"Confundantur in omni animae. In bonum in malum, et malum bonum. Convenerunt in unum reducet et nostra memoria. Proferet in lucem tenebras filia reliquum æquale erit tamquam bellator vivimus vigemusque humanae caliginis."
By now both Libby and Eliza were chanting the Latin verse together, the rush of each other's energy and soul pouring into Libby's body.
"Confundantur in omni animae. In bonum in malum, et malum bonum. Convenerunt in unum reducet et nostra memoria. Proferet in lucem tenebras filia aequali statera tenebrosum erit—" Libby and Eliza both threw their heads back in what seemed to be a knock of force and pain, both women screaming out. But their yells were drowned out by the loud wind as a dark smoke rushed from Eliza's body, intertwining with the bright light that was Libby's soul.
Sam and Dean shielded their eyes but watched, the two souls combining into a light grey before forcing itself back down Libby's throat. The force threw her back onto the ground, Eliza's vessel dropping to the ground unconscious. Sam's and Dean's eyes widened and they glanced between the two unconscious girls before running forward.
"Libby!" Sam yelled out, skidding onto his knees at the redhead's side. Dean stopped and crouched down next to the blonde, pressing two fingers to the side of her neck. He breathed out a sigh of relief when he felt a pulse and nodded at Sam. The younger Winchester shook Libby, desperately trying to wake her up.
"Katherine, wake up," Dean said. The blonde's green eyes fluttered open and she inhaled sharply, coughing as Dean helped her sit up. "Oh thank God."
"Where am I?" Katherine questioned, glancing around the Bunker. Her gaze settled on Libby's unconscious body and her eyes widened. "What? I don't understand."
"It's a long story," Dean said with a chuckle. "We'll tell you when we take you home." Katherine licked her lips and nodded, looking up at Dean for the first time. "What's the last thing you remember?" Katherine furrowed her eyebrows and stared down at the floor in thought.
"Uh, I was on set. There was this black smoke and then I collapsed. That's the last thing I remember," Katherine explained.
Suddenly Libby shot up with wide eyes, gasping for breath as her hands clawed at the ground for a sense of safety and security. Sam jumped and quickly grabbed one of her hands, the redhead turning her head to look at him as her chest heaved rapidly.
"Libby?" Sam asked hopefully, his eyes lighting up at the sight of her.
"Sam?" Libby's gaze shifted to the left to see Dean sitting next to Katherine, watching with bright eyes. "Dean?" Libby gasped and sprung up, grabbing onto the table to balance herself as she looked around the Bunker. "Kevin. Oh my god. He thinks I—" Sam and Dean exchanged glances, the two brothers standing up. Dean pulled Katherine up with him, helping the blonde into a chair.
"Libby, how much do you remember?" Sam questioned slowly. Libby turned to look at the Hunter with furrowed eyebrows, her head cocked to the side.
"Dean stopped the third trial and the angels fell."
"You were dead," Dean said. "How'd you see that?"
"I was in the Veil. I saw the whole thing but the moment you put Sam in the Impala everything just went black. I don't remember much after that," Libby told them. Dean closed his eyes and let out a sigh while Sam ran a stressful hand through his hair. Katherine and Libby watched in confusion.
"Libby...that was almost seven months ago," Sam said. Libby's green eyes widened as she glanced between the two brothers, holding her head. "You were supposed to get your memories back from both you and Eliza." Suddenly Katherine screamed out, clutching her head as she doubled over in pain. Everyone's gaze snapped towards the blonde and Libby rushed over, catching her just before she could hit the ground.
"Katherine?" Dean asked, circling around the chair to her side. "Katherine, what's going on?"
"Eliza," she choked out through gritted teeth, her eyes clenched shut. "Her memories. I have them." Sam looked up to Dean and Libby.
"Something must've gone wrong during the merge," he said. Libby's lips parted slightly as she thought it over before shaking her head.
"No. No, we did everything correctly. I know it. I swear to you," Libby said. At that moment Sam and Dean could see Eliza's personality in her. She knew that the Winchesters would be wary of her until she proved herself. They knew how to kill her.
"She's not lying."
Everyone turned to look up to the Bunker door, their faces paling at the sight of Nadia. Katherine's screaming stopped and she panted, slowly leaning back on her calves.
"She did the spell perfectly. You have your precious Libby back and you rendered me human single handedly. You didn't honestly think it'd be that easy, did you?" Nadia asked as she made her way down the steps. Libby stood up from her position on the ground, her hands curling into fists at her sides. Nadia's smug smirk made her blood boil as she continued to approach the Hunters. "Elizabeth had knowledge that could help you take down both Abaddon and Metatron. Why do you think she was so eager to merge back with Libby?"
"What did you do?" Libby growled. Nadia stopped and grinned, crossing her arms over her chest.
"Fail safe. I knew that Elizabeth would never be as loyal as I hoped. Demon or not, she still had good in her. So I cast a spell on her. There's a spell for damn near anything," Nadia replied with a chuckle. "Eliza had information I couldn't let you get your hands on. Her memories were locked in her vessel." Everyone turned to look at Katherine on the floor.
"So we get Katherine to tell us. Easy," Dean replied with a smirk. His voice was deeper than Libby remembered. Gruffer. Her gaze fell to the Mark of Cain on his forearm and she gulped, looking down at her wrist.
"It's in the same language that the Tablets are written in. You don't have a Prophet to decipher it for you and Libby doesn't speak it. So good luck with that," Nadia explained. Katherine's face fell. She wouldn't be able to help the Hunters take down Abaddon and Metatron. She knew how dangerous they were what with Eliza's memories floating around in her brain. Libby let out a laugh of disbelief, shaking her head.
"That's why you had Gadreel kill Kevin. You knew all along this would happen," Libby realized, licking her lips. Nadia nodded. "Well guess what? You just walked into our territory and you're human. I can drive my Sword through your heart right now and you'd die at my hands and I will love every second of it."
Nadia pursed her lips and nodded, letting out a sigh. "You could. But, Libby, do you really want more blood on your hands? Eliza's apart of you and she's already slaughtered hundreds." Libby looked to Katherine for confirmation. The blonde nodded sadly.
"It's true. She did," Katherine whispered.
"That blood is on your hands, my dear daughter," Nadia hissed. "You've already killed Azrael so imagine what it'd look like when you kill your own mother. News gets around fast in the supernatural realm. Looks like you'd live up to your title as Lucifer's daughter. The Princess of Hell takes her throne after millenniums of protest and rebellion. How's that sound?" Libby snatched the Sword from the table and charged towards Nadia, slamming her up against the wall with the Sword pressed against her throat. The brunette grinned. "Do it. Come on, Libby. You know you want to. Just imagine the feeling of driving that blade through my chest. Imagine the feeling of my blood on your hands. The sensation of finally killing your worst enemy. Imagine the satisfaction of my death. Do it."
Libby could feel the Mark on her wrist practically begging for her to drive the Sword through Nadia's chest. It pleaded for her to make the kill just as it had for the past few weeks while she was strung up in the warehouse. She could see flashes of the torture from her mother. She could hear her screams echo throughout her mind. She could feel the healing rips and tears of her skin that were revealed by her shredded clothing.
"Libby?" Sam asked warily. "Libby, I'm not going to stop you but you have to remember that you have that Mark on your wrist. If you give in then it could mean Hell on Earth. You may not be able to come back from this." Libby gritted her teeth, pushing back the tears of anger.
"She made my life a living hell! She would beat me and scream at me and—"
"I know," Sam said softly, nodding. He slowly approached the redhead. She never took her eyes off of Nadia's. "I know that, Libby. Eliza told me. But your revenge may be what sets you on a path you can never come back from. It's a path that neither of us want for you. Think rationally about this." By now Sam was just a few inches away from the redhead. He reached out and placed a hand on her shoulder, his heart speeding up when she jumped and turned to look at him through teary eyes.
"She deserves this."
"You said that life as a human was worse than death for Nadia. If that's true then let her go. No one's going to help her. She's all on her own."
Libby glanced between Sam and Nadia before stepping back, lowering the Sword to her side. Katherine let out a breath she didn't realize she had been holding and Dean's shoulders slumped in relief. Sam nodded, sending the redhead a warm smile.
"Get out of the Bunker. I don't want to see you ever again," Libby spat towards her mother. Nadia narrowed her gaze at the hybrid before turning on her heel and leaving, rushing up the steps. The Bunker door slammed shut behind her, echoing throughout the War Room. Libby turned to Katherine and set her Sword down on the table. "Obviously you wouldn't be able to understand the information you have in your head," Libby started, "so you can go. You can return back to your life."
"Thank you."
"And I'm sorry about your hair. I don't know why Eliza did that. It doesn't look bad but I have a feeling you like red better," Libby added. Katherine chuckled and nodded.
"She did it because she wasn't you." Libby furrowed her eyebrows and cocked her head to the side. "She loved Sam and she knew that he couldn't stand seeing you as a demon. So she changed it up," Katherine explained.
"Eliza said it was a suggestion from a friend," Sam replied in confusion. Katherine nodded again.
"Yeah. Cain suggested it." Sam and Libby turned to each other with raised eyebrows. The blonde sighed and ran a hand through her hair before letting her arm fall back down to her side. "Look, I'm just an actress who plays an angel-human hybrid on TV. I never imagined that anything close to that world was even a possibility, but I've been dragged around the Earth, shot, stabbed, and anything else you can imagine. I was unwillingly a vessel for Lucifer's daughter." Libby dropped her head in shame, sighing. "But I can't say it was all bad."
Her head snapped up and she stared back at Katherine with wide eyes. Everyone who had ever been a vessel despised it. Sam and Dean could remember Jimmy Novak and his hesitation to serve Heaven once more even when his daughter and wife were in danger.
"With Eliza's memories, I know everything that happened. I have your childhood memories and memories of your time down in Hell. You're really amazing," Katherine told Libby with a laugh. Libby smiled softly and nodded. "And I have a feeling that you can defeat this Scribe of God and the Knight of Hell. The only thing I ask is that you don't give into the Mark of Cain. Seeing what it did to Eliza everytime she made a kill..that's not something I want for you." Katherine turned towards Dean. "For either of you. It's dangerous and I hope you find another way to get it off."
No one questioned the fact that Katherine knew a way to get rid of it. Libby knew. She knew all too well how to get rid of it, but she also knew what it would result in. Katherine held that knowledge now and she knew damn well that neither of the two wanted to risk unleashing The Darkness.
"Thank you, Katherine," Libby told the blonde. "I think it's time to get you home, though. Stay safe and normal. We'd kill for a life like yours so don't throw it away." Katherine laughed and nodded. "I think I have enough mojo to get you back home. Let's find out."
Libby stepped forward and pressed two fingers to the blonde's forehead, watching as she disappeared into thin air. Sam and Dean exchanged glances before staring at the empty spot that Katherine once stood in.
"I believe she's back in her apartment," Libby informed the brothers. Sam and Dean breath a sigh of relief. "Since I have absolutely no idea what's going on with Metatron and Abaddon, would you two mind filling me in? I'd like to gank those sons of bitches."
~*~
Libby sat at the table in the War Room holding her head in her hand. Her eyebrows were raised as she processed everything the Winchesters had told her. Sam and Dean watched her, waiting for a reaction of any type.
"Wow," was all Libby managed to say. Sam nodded and chuckled softly, tapping his index finger on the tabletop repeatedly. "Speaking of things Eliza did...Kevin—"
"He knows it was Eliza," Dean quickly cut in. "And he forgave you, Libby. A couple of weeks ago, actually. You don't have to worry or feel guilty about that. It was my fault." Dean's voice wavered as he spoke and Libby frowned. She knew it wasn't any of their faults that Kevin died, yet the three Hunters all blamed themselves. Suddenly Sam cleared his throat.
"Hey, Dean, would you mind if Libby and I went to talk? Alone?" Sam inquired. Dean furrowed his eyebrows and glanced between the two before realization hit and he nodded.
"Uh, y-yeah. Go ahead."
Sam sent him a grateful smile and nodded for Libby to follow him down the corridors. She obliged silently, confused as to what Sam wanted to talk about. They had just filled her in on everything and she asked everything she needed to ask. There was nothing left except to find Abaddon and Gadreel.
"Sam, what—" Libby was cut off the moment they stepped into his room. Sam planted his lips on her, backing the redhead up into the wall. She tensed slightly under his touch before relaxing, letting her arms rest on the back of his neck as she kissed him back. The kiss was rough and almost hungry as if they hadn't seen each other in years. But it had been seven months and that was seven months too long in Sam's eyes.
"I've missed you so much," Sam muttered against her lips breathlessly, his fingers digging into her hips. Libby didn't reply. She only gently tugged on Sam's hair, earning a low moan from the Hunter. The sound brought a smirk to her lips and she backed them up towards the bed, playing with the hem of his shirt before tugging it over his head and tossing it to the floor. Sam kicked the door shut behind him and locked it. He went to pull off Libby's shirt when it ripped off and she let out a laugh, shaking her head.
"It needed to go anyways," she muttered. Her hair had been pulled up into a bun and she had cleaned off the blood with a wet washcloth now that her wounds had healed. Sam chuckled and let it drop next to his shirt. Libby's hands roamed his torso and she enjoyed the firmness of his abs, a feeling she had missed. "I love you." Sam stopped and stared at her, his heart leaping in his chest at those words. He hadn't heard them in a long time.
"I love you, too," he breathed out. Libby grinned and let out a giggle when Sam started to kiss down her neck, his hand pressed against the small of her back to pull her closer to him. She gasped and let out a moan when Sam nipped her collarbone, her eyes fluttering closed. Libby stumbled and fell back onto the bed, staring up at Sam before unbuttoning her torn jeans and sliding them down her legs before kicking them from her ankles. Sam hovered over her, propping himself up with his arms on either side of her body. His hand ran down her side and over her curves, his lips trailing down her torso.
"Sam, wait."
Sam stopped and stared down at her, his heart pounding against his ribcage. Was she going to tell him to stop? Was she going to say that she felt something for Dean instead? A million questions raced through his mind as he stared down at her, desperately praying that she just needed a moment to catch her breath.
Libby placed her palms flat against his chest and sucked in a sharp breath before meeting his gaze. "I know that Eliza stayed with you guys in the Bunker and I know what she's like. She's me, so I'm sure she somehow seduced you and you guys—"
"Libby..."
"I want it. I want to go all the way." Sam recoiled at her words, his lips parting slightly in shock. Had he just heard her right? "I mean technically we've already..." Libby cleared her throat. Sam knew the topic was uncomfortable for her to talk about.
"Are you sure? We don't have to just because of Eliza. I mean we just got you back. We can take it slow," Sam told her. Libby nodded and licked her lips, rolling her bottom lip between her teeth.
"I'm sure. One hundred percent sure." A smile worked its way to her lips and Sam grinned, nodding. He knew that this took their complicated relationship to the next level and because of that he was excited. A burst of giddiness erupted in his stomach and he nodded.
"If you're sure."
"I am."
Sam leaned down and planted a kiss on her lips and Libby giggled, reaching up and cupping his cheek. Her finger ran across his jawline and she arched her back as Sam removed her bra, briefly pulling away so that he could slide it off.
"I love you so much," Sam whispered.
"I know."

Libby rolled off of Sam and onto the empty space in the bed next to him, clutching the blanket to her chest as she struggled to catch her breath. "Woah," she breathed. Sam chuckled and nodded, turning on his side to face her.
"Yeah."
"I really see what I was missing out on. I mean woah." They both laughed and Libby shook her head, letting out a sigh. She didn't know what to say. After seven months of not being herself she came back and it was almost as if nothing had ever happened.
Flashes of the night she died threatened to take over, but she did her best to push them away and focus on Sam. Right then and there it was about Libby and Sam and no one else. Sam reached over and brushed a loose strand of red hair from her face, flashing a small smile.
"I think we should take a shower before Dean suspects something," he muttered. Libby shrugged and leaned forward, planting a kiss on his lips.
"I'm sure he already knows. You were pretty loud," Libby teased softly. Sam rolled his hazel eyes playfully and she chuckled. "But I do need a shower. After a couple months of being bound to the ceiling you tend to feel pretty dirty."
"Go take your shower."
Libby rolled out of bed and got up to grab her clothes, only for Sam to reach out and smack her ass. She jumped and turned, arching an eyebrow with an amused grin at him.
"You're different," she noted. Sam shrugged and smirked. "You seem...happier"
"Maybe it's because we're both not dying anymore."
"Touché."
Libby pulled on her bra and underwear, knowing that her jeans wouldn't survive another wear. She slipped out of the room quietly to grab some clothes from her room but stopped and gasped when she ran straight into Dean. Her eyes widened and she took a step back, staring up at him in shock. Dean arched an eyebrow at the redhead, his gaze raking over her body.
"Have fun with your 'talk'?" Dean questioned, air-quoting the last word. Libby's cheeks burned red as she looked at Dean, mortified.
"This is awkward," Libby muttered. She went to walk around him when the Hunter stepped in front of her, blocking her way. "Dean, could you please move?"
"Did you two—"
"No." Dean narrowed his eyes at the hybrid and she sighed, nodding. "Yeah." Dean cleared his throat and nodded, stepping to the side.
"'Bout time," he grumbled as she shoved past him, rushing into her room to grab clothes. Dean chuckled and shook his head before continuing to his own room.
Libby quickly grabbed a pair of jeans, crop top, fresh bra and underwear, and scurried into the bathroom across the hall. She shut and locked the door behind her and started the water, stepping in before it was even heated up. She let the water pour down over her aching muscles, sighing as the frigid water heated up until steam covered the bathroom mirrors. She pulled her red locks from the bun and watched the dried blood that she couldn't get out run down the drain, her fingers raking through her hair to help.
The hybrid started to hum softly as she grabbed her shampoo and worked it through her hair, letting all of her worries briefly flee from her mind. She focused on the time she had just had with Sam, a smile creeping onto her bare lips. She rolled her bottom lip between her teeth to try and conceal her grin but she couldn't help it. For once she felt as if everything were calm. Nadia may be human now, but Gadreel, Metatron, and Abaddon were still out there and a threat. But those thoughts were completely pushed to the back of her mind and she let out a small giggle.
Okay....so, Heaven's Demon is going on hiatus for a long time. I've been working on rewriting Breaking Through, very slowly but surely. School's been really hectic so it's taking a lot longer than I'd like, plus I have to work on Deception. So it'll be a really long time before Breaking Through is up but I promise that you'll get the rewrite sometime in the future. It'll be longer, better, written cleaner, and more SamxLibby like there was supposed to be. You just may not get it until late 2018. Until then...
