Chapter Twenty-Seven: Now Grandmas and Grandpas
The soft glow of the morning light filtered into the royal chamber, illuminating the newly crowned king and queen of both Heaven and Hell. Ash sat on the velvet-lined bed, cradling her newborn daughter in her arms, the gentle rise and fall of the baby’s chest the only sound filling the room. The tiny princess was wrapped snugly in a delicate blanket of golden and crimson threads, her angelic features peaceful and serene in sleep.
Next to her, the prince—her husband—sat with a smile that radiated pride and love. His hand rested on Ash's, and his eyes never left their daughter, who was still too young to truly understand the legacy she was born into. Ash had never thought she would feel such overwhelming joy, yet here she was, holding the future of both realms in her arms.
"I can't believe she's ours," Ash whispered, gazing down at the little princess.
"I know," the prince replied softly. "She's everything we ever hoped for. Our perfect little girl." He looked at her, his gaze full of tenderness and awe.
Before they could share another moment of quiet, the doors to the royal chambers swung open. Ash's parents—King and Queen of Heaven—walked in, followed by the prince's parents—the King and Queen of Hell. Each of them carried the weight of their respective kingdoms on their shoulders, but now, standing in the presence of their granddaughter, they were filled with an entirely different emotion: wonder.
Ash's mother, the Queen of Heaven, was the first to speak. Her gaze softened as she walked toward her daughter, her eyes filled with tears. "She's... she's so beautiful, Ash," she whispered, her voice shaking slightly.
The Queen of Heaven reached out to take the baby from Ash’s arms, her hands trembling as she cradled the tiny princess. Her heart swelled with a love she hadn't known she was capable of for this precious child, her granddaughter. Ash stood by her side, a sense of pride swelling in her chest.
"She looks just like you, Ash," the Queen of Heaven said, smiling down at the baby. "I never thought I’d see the day when Heaven and Hell would join in such a beautiful way."
Ash’s father, King of Heaven, stepped forward with a soft, thoughtful smile. "She’s the symbol of our unity," he said, his voice full of awe. "A child born of both our realms. A miracle."
Meanwhile, Ash’s father-in-law, the King of Hell, was quietly observing the scene with a warm smile. Though his demeanor was usually tough, in this moment, his heart softened. His wife, the Queen of Hell, stood beside him, her arms crossed, watching the scene unfold with a proud look on her face.
"I never imagined this day would come," the King of Hell said, his deep voice almost a whisper. "Our granddaughter, a child who holds the future of both Heaven and Hell in her hands."
Ash smiled at her parents and parents-in-law as they exchanged a few soft words, marveling over the baby in awe. It felt surreal that, just days ago, the thought of having a family seemed impossible. Now, not only did she have a daughter, but she was surrounded by the parents of both Heaven and Hell—realms that had always been in conflict, but now, through her and the prince, would be forever united.
But the surprise didn't end there.
As the Queen of Heaven handed the baby back to Ash, a soft chuckle filled the air. It was Ash's mother-in-law, the Queen of Hell, her sharp features softened by a rare smile.
"She may be Heaven’s princess," the Queen of Hell said, "but she’ll be Hell’s too."
Ash laughed softly, handing her baby back to her mother for a moment so she could stand up and walk toward her mother-in-law. "I hope she’s strong enough to handle both," Ash said, smiling at the idea of raising a child who would bridge the gap between the two realms.
"You'll make sure of that," the Queen of Hell said with confidence. "And you, my dear, will be a wonderful mother."
Ash nodded, a sense of warmth and reassurance flooding her chest. As much as she had once feared the responsibility of both Heaven and Hell, she now realized that she had the support of her family—both sides of it—and her husband. Together, they would give their daughter the love, strength, and wisdom she needed to rule both worlds.
The King of Hell stepped forward, placing a hand on the prince’s shoulder. "Your daughter is the future," he said quietly. "We will all do what we can to guide her, just as we’ve guided you."
"And we will always be here for her," the Queen of Heaven added, her eyes filled with emotion as she looked at Ash and the prince. "She will have everything she needs—love, support, and the best of both worlds."
Ash’s heart felt full as she looked around at her family. It was hard to believe how far they had come—how far she had come—from being a runaway angel to becoming the queen of Heaven and Hell, a ruler of both realms, and now, the mother of the child who would shape the future. It had been a long journey, one filled with hardships, but this moment was worth everything.
As her parents and in-laws crowded around, showering her daughter with love and admiration, Ash realized that, in the end, family was the one thing that would always hold them all together. They might have been born of different worlds—Heaven and Hell—but they were united now, in the most beautiful way possible: as a family. And together, they would face whatever challenges lay ahead, supporting one another every step of the way.
And as Ash gazed at her tiny daughter, a new hope rose within her—a hope that, perhaps, the future would be brighter, not only for their family but for the realms of Heaven and Hell, too.
The little princess was the symbol of their love, unity, and the promise of a future where both worlds could coexist. And with the strength of her parents, grandparents, and the kingdom of Heaven and Hell behind her, she would one day rise to be a queen, guiding both realms with wisdom and grace.
For now, however, Ash held her daughter close, grateful for this moment and the family that surrounded her, all of them now united by love.
