Water Master was back in her Palace, today she was alone as Yìfēi and Xiàn Fèng were busy making arrangements for Ghost King's arrival, her heated fight with Yìfēi had calmed after she promised she would try to be nicer to other people, Yìfēi was still slightly peeved with ShuîYuê and her tendencies to only follow Yìfēi's threats for a short while before she returned to her cold Water Master self, but Yìfēi didn't say much since ShuîYuê was being friendly with Xiàn Fèng.

Water Master was alone in the side hall going over some scrolls when she noticed the smell of cream puffs; she peeped out through the window to see two maids carrying a tray of cream puffs; ShuîYuê's stomach growled; she hadn't eaten anything tasty for the last twenty-five days why? Because the doctor had said no and people in her palace loved torturing her, she hadn't had the chance to even sneak something from the market. They had made cream puffs in the palace itself, and ShuîYuê was going to eat those cream puffs that were her birthright.

She went outside and purposely bumped into the maids carrying the tray of cream puffs, the two maids panicked as Water Master hissed in pain holding her right hand which was still covered in bandages, she could pick up light things but it hurt if she picked anything heavy, so they ran to get the doctor but Water Master said it was fine and they should bring her a warm bag of water instead, so the maids placed the trays on the side table and went to grab the warm bag quickly.

ShuîYuê looked around to see if anyone was nearby but no one was in sight so she gingerly stuffed some of the cream puffs in her robes and pretended to be waiting for the maids who came two minutes later with the warm bag, they gave it to her who took it and went back to the side hall.

'Hehe, now's the time to finally have a taste of heaven,' she thought taking a bite of the cream puff, she closed her eyes as the tasty flavour swirled in her mouth, she took another big bite and right then she heard footsteps so she quickly hid the rest of them behind some scrolls.

Jade entered the side hall with a tray in her hand, she placed it on the table while Water Master quickly chewed the bite in her mouth pretending to read the scrolls as she lifted the scroll to her face hiding behind it, 'I took a huge bite and I can't just swallow it whole,' she thought chewing quickly.

"Your medicine, Master, please drink it while it's hot," Jade informed as she stared at Water Master, acting strange, who nodded her head.

ShuîYuê finally managed to finish the cream puffs bite and licked her lips so that no crumbs were there; she put the scroll down and finished the medicine in one go, placing the bowl down; she waited for Jade to leave, who was still standing there staring at ShuîYuê.

"Anything else?" ShuîYuê asked coldly

"Yes," Jade leaned her face close to ShuîYuê's who was frozen.

"What are you doing?" ShuîYuê asked, confused. Jade's face was only a few inches away when she brought her thumb to Water Master's face and caressed her cheek lightly; she pulled back as ShuîYuê took a deep breath. Jade sniffed her thumb and frowned, confused.

Water Master's eyes went wide as she touched her cheek it was sticky, 'Oh shit,' she thought, cursing internally.

Jade brought her thumb to her lips to probably taste it, but ShuîYuê grabbed her thumb, licking it instead. Jade's eyes went wide as she felt butterflies in her stomach. Water Master had simply licked her thumb, but that made Jade warm already, and her heart beating loudly.

ShuîYuê licked off the yummy cream from Jade's thumb, 'Now she won't know I was secretly eating cream puffs,' Water Master thought relieved.

She looked back at Jade, who looked like a tomato, "What's wrong? Do you have a fever?" ShuîYuê asked, tilting her head to the side.

'It's not a fever I am blushing because of you! Why do you always have to act so charming and hot and make my heart race like a horse?' Jade thought as she tried to keep her composure. This Water Master made her heart race so easily.

"Oye, I am talking to you!" ShuîYuê snapped her fingers in Jade's face, who was startled.

"I- I am fine," she stuttered, hurriedly getting up, but then she saw something; behind the scrolls were cream puffs laying on a handkerchief; she walked back to the handkerchief, picked it up and examining it, a half-eaten cream puff fell to the floor. Jade picked it up and sniffed it; it had the same sweet smell as the white thing on ShuîYuê's face; she turned around to look at Water Master, whose eyes were wide, and she looked away as Jade stared at her.

"Are you stealing cream puffs, Master?" she asked carefully.

"Stealing? Cream puffs? What are you talking about?" ShuîYuê asked, looking away, pretending to not know anything.

"Please don't lie! This smells sweet, just like the white thing on your face; its texture is also similar," Jade voiced, slowly holding up the cream puffs to Water Master's face, whose cheeks were slightly pink.

"I don't know what you are talking about..." ShuîYuê mumbled, turning away from Jade.

"So you are indeed stealing cream puffs from the palace! Doctor Wen said you aren't supposed to eat anything other than what he prescribed," she accused, worried.

"I'll tell Aunt Rong Pei, and she'll tell Wind Master, "Jade added, walking away, ShuîYuê turned around, quickly grabbing her arm.

"Don't, please don't tell them," Water Master pleaded.

"How many times have you done this?" Jade asked suspiciously.

"Never! This is the first time, I have never eaten anything other than what you guys gave me," ShuîYuê assured.

Jade narrowed her eyes, clearly not believing Water Master, "I swear this was the first time," ShuîYuê added, swearing.

"Really?" Jade asked once again,

"Really," ShuîYuê repeated, nodding her head, Jade stared at her hand, which Water Master was still holding, and pulled it away instantly at the realisation.

Jade turned around to leave, "Can I? Can I have just one cream puff?" Water Master asked hopefully.

Jade narrowed her eyes at ShuîYuê,
"Please, I only got to eat half a cream puff before you came," ShuîYuê begged like a child asking for sweets.

Jade shook her head; Water Master looked sad; she went back and plopped down in her seat, picking up the scrolls while pouting. Jade sighed. Giving her just one won't hurt anyone, right? She couldn't resist that adorable face so she walked back to ShuîYuê and held a cream puff to her face who looked up at Jade confused,
"Just one," she said, holding up the cream puff; Water Master stared at her before quickly snatching it from her hands.

"Secret?" Water Master asked innocently, and for the first time, Jade found a glimmer of a child in the usually serious and reserved Water Master. Jade wanted to see what else Water Master could do to make her wonder in astonishment, and she was in for a long ride.

"Secret," she promised; Water Master smiled at her happily, as Jade stared at Water Master, feeling happy to see her smile; she left the room, turning around once more to see Water Master biting the cream puff. Elated, Jade smiled to herself as she exited the side hall.

I know I know cream puffs origin from France, but I just wanted Water Master to have one sweet craving considering how much she hates sweets, so please ignore their origin,

Also, Ghost King arrives in the next chapter. I am freaking right now!!!!

I hope you guys like how he's written he was the most difficult to work with since he really doesn't have one solid personality, half inspiration, and half imagination made up that character
