Chapter 5
3rd Person P.O.V
When Jasmine arrived at school the next morning, things seemed to be going normally. Well, as normal as a day at Westerburg High could be. Her morning classes passed relatively quickly, which the dark-haired girl was rather thankful for, since she hadn't managed to see Veronica yet. However, Jasmine had been unable to shake the feeling that something bad was going to happen. But she was interrupted from those thoughts when she had left English class and had been heading to her Biology class, when she found her path being blocked by Chandler. Jasmine knew the confrontation was inevitable, especially since she had purposefully been avoiding Chandler during the school day, which hadn't been all that hard since Chandler was rarely seen without the other two Heathers.
"We need to talk." Chandler said.
"Can't it wait? I promised Veronica I would meet her soon." Jasmine said.
"No, it can't." Chandler answered, her tone leaving no room for argument. Reluctantly, Jasmine gestured for Chandler to lead the way, following the red-clad Heather to an empty classroom. Once they were in, Chandler closed the door to ensure no nosy students could overhear them.
"So, what could possibly have been so important that you're making me miss class?" Jasmine questioned.
"You claim to somehow know my biggest secret. Which is something I have never told anyone. And then you avoid me for a month, leaving me to try and figure out how you could've found out." Chandler answered, to which Jasmine only laughed.
"I don't claim to know your secret. I do know it. In the summer of 1986, you were in a relationship. But not just any relationship. You were in a relationship with a girl. You spent a lot of time with this girl, until it came to an end. Why did this happen? Because the girl tragically lost her brother, and was forced by her father to move away, and therefore had to end the relationship. So you and this girl agreed not to hold it against each other. And then the next day, she was gone from Sherwood, Ohio. Never to be seen again. And because of the blatant homophobia in this godforsaken town, you could never tell anyone about your ex-girlfriend, lest your reputation go down the drain." Jasmine said, much to Chandler's shock.
"How could you possibly know all of that? Wait.... Jasmine?" Chandler questioned, finally realising why Jasmine had seemed so familiar when they had first met.
"Took you long enough to recognise me." Jasmine remarked dryly, a light smirk present on her face. Chandler couldn't help herself and she pulled her former friend into a hug, though she didn't miss the way Jasmine flinched at the sudden contact.
"In my defence, it has been three years since I last saw you, and the fact you've changed your style. Not to mention that you never used to wear eyeshadow." Chandler pointed out, letting go of Jasmine and gesturing to the purple and black eyeshadow, which was something that Jasmine had become fond of wearing shortly after she had turned sixteen, as she felt it added to her mystery persona.
"I guess that's fair." Jasmine remarked. Just then, the bell rang to signal the next class, startling the two girls as they hadn't realised they'd been in the classroom for so long. Chandler left the classroom first, and Jasmine gave it a few minutes before she exited the room before heading to the cafeteria, since she and Veronica both had a free period before lunch. However, as she neared the area, the feeling of dread she'd felt earlier that day came flooding back with a vengeance. Upon entering, she immediately spotted Veronica standing at the far end of the room, looking extremely upset, so she quickly ran over to her.
"Veronica, what's wrong?" Jasmine asked, concern in her eyes when she saw the tears falling down Veronica's face.
"Aw, she cried just like that last night when she saw how big I was!" Kurt gloated, causing Jasmine to glare at him.
"Hell yeah! Punch it in!" Ram said. At this, Jasmine's anger grew, and she lunged for Kurt. However, instead of her defeating them like she had on her first day, it was the other way around. Jasmine quickly lost the element of surprise as the two jocks teamed up against her. Jasmine was knocked to the ground, and the two continued to aim harsh kicks at her, with most of them landing. She was only spared when Coach Ripper and Principal Gowan appeared in the cafeteria and pulled Kurt and Ram away.
"Nothing more to see here!" Coach Ripper told the gathered crowd.
"Get back to class, all of you!" Principal Gowan said. The students quickly dispersed, leaving Veronica and Jasmine alone in the cafeteria. Veronica immediately rushed over to Jasmine and knelt beside her.
"Are you alright?" Veronica asked.
"Yeah, sort of. Are you?" Jasmine asked, slowly pushing herself up, and then turning to look at Veronica.
"I'm fine. Awesome. Sorry about the waterworks." Veronica said, trying to wipe her tears, but to no avail. Jasmine was already plotting how to get back at Kurt and Ram, but at that moment, her primary concern was making sure Veronica was alright.
"They made you cry, but that will be over by tonight. You're the only thing right about this broken world for me. It's okay for you to cry. When the morning comes, we'll ensure this is resolved." Jasmine said, though briefly turning away from Veronica as she was unaccustomed to showing emotion in front of anyone.
"Are you okay?" Veronica asked, gently placing a hand on Jasmine's arm.
"I've been alone for so long, that I became almost like a frozen lake. Then you came along and melted me awake. You're not alone in feeling hurt. Our love is god. I'll meet you at your house tonight, and we'll talk about how to try and resolve this." Jasmine said. Veronica nodded, leaning into Jasmine and letting the dark-haired girl pull her close. The two stayed like that for a while before they eventually got up and left the cafeteria, not looking forward to facing the rest of the day.

Later that night, Jasmine arrived at Veronica's house and knocked on the door. The door opened moments later to reveal Veronica, who quickly stepped back to let her in. Jasmine entered the house and closed the door behind her, before following Veronica up to her room.
"So, what are we going to do?" Veronica asked.
"You're going to call me crazy, but hear me out. You call Kurt and tell him that it's always been your fantasy to have two guys at once or something like that. He's dumb enough to fall for it. Then you tell him to bring Ram to meet you at the cemetery at dawn. And when they show up, we prank them to get revenge for them spreading that rumour." Jasmine said. Veronica hesitated, but soon did as suggested, and had to stop herself from laughing when Kurt actually fell for it, just like Jasmine had predicted he would. Jasmine then brought out a box and opened it to reveal two guns.
"Whoa, are those guns real?" Veronica asked.
"Yeah, but we're filling them with Ich Luge bullets." Jasmine answered.
"Ich Luge? What?" Veronica questioned in confusion.
"My grandfather scored them in World War 2. They contain a powerful tranquilliser. They break the surface of the skin, enough to cause a little blood but no real damage. The Nazis used them to fake their own suicides when the Russians invaded Berlin. We will use them to knock Ram and Kurt out and make it look like they shot each other in a suicide pact, complete with a forged suicide note. By the time they wake up tomorrow, they'll be the laughing stock of the entire school." Jasmine explained. Part of her felt bad about lying to Veronica about what they were going to do, but the other part of her was too driven by her anger at Kurt and Ram to think straight.
"Sounds smart. I managed to obtain a copy of Kurt's handwriting so I could write the note." Veronica said, showing Jasmine the note, earning a nod and smirk from the dark-haired girl.
"Perfect. Now all that's left to do is carry it out." Jasmine said.

Shortly before dawn came, Jasmine and Veronica arrived at the cemetery to prepare. Jasmine hid behind a nearby gravestone, while Veronica remained where she was as they waited for Kurt and Ram to arrive. Fortunately, they didn't have to wait long as the two jocks showed up not long after.
"Hi Veronica." Kurt said.
"So, do we just whip it out or what?" Ram asked.
"Take it slow, Ram. Strip for me." Veronica answered. The two jocks both grinned at one another before hurrying to do so.
"What about you?" Kurt asked, looking at Veronica.
"Oh, I was hoping you'd rip my clothes off me, sport." Veronica answered.
"Yeah, we can do that." Ram said. A minute later, both jocks were standing there in just their socks and underwear.
"Count of three. One, two..." Veronica started.
"Three." Jasmine came out from her hiding place and shot Ram, but Veronica's shot missed Kurt completely.
"Holy crap!" Kurt exclaimed, before turning and running away
"Stay here, I'll get him back." Jasmine said, running after Kurt.
"Ram? You're just unconscious, right? Ram? Ram?!" Veronica questioned, but realisation soon hit her, and she was horrified by it.
"Why are you chasing me? I was just kidding about your girlfriend being a whore!" Kurt shouted, trying to escape.
"Get off the fence! Get off the damn fence!" Jasmine aimed her gun at Kurt, who was halfway up the fence surrounding the cemetery.
"I don't understand!" Kurt said.
"We can start and finish wars. We're what killed the dinosaurs. We're the asteroid that's overdue." Jasmine's voice was soft but deadly.
"Stop being a dick!" Kurt exclaimed, which was ironic given how he usually behaved at Westerburg.
"The dinosaurs will turn to dust." Jasmine continued.
"What does that mean?!" Kurt questioned.
"They'll die because we say they must!" Jasmine answered, firing her gun, causing Kurt to fall to the ground. Veronica ran over after hearing the gunshot, only to see Jasmine standing over Kurt's body.
"What the fuck have you done?!" Veronica questioned, horror clear on her face.
"They made you cry with that stupid rumour. Now they will never make you cry again, nor will they ever spread any more rumours about you. And I will make sure that no one ever hurts you that way again." Jasmine answered, and Veronica couldn't help but feel unnerved by how sadistic the other girl sounded. She wasn't entirely sure what had triggered this change, but she knew she did not like this side to Jasmine. It was the complete opposite of the girl she had fallen in love with. All she could do was hope that she never had to see this side of Jasmine's personality ever again.
