Chapter 12
3rd Person P.O.V
Soon after finding out about Chandler going missing, Veronica and Jasmine made their way back to the Sawyer household. Once there, Veronica went to call Duke and Mac to ask them to come over, since it was easier to break the news in person. Neither girl spoke much, both too busy trying to figure out where Chandler could be being kept. The sound of the doorbell made them jump, but Veronica went to answer the door, knowing it signalled the arrival of Duke and Mac. Sure enough, she returned to the living room with the green and yellow-clad Heathers in tow.
"Okay, so what exactly is going on? You were very cryptic over the phone. And why isn't Heather here?" Mac questioned.
"Because she's missing. She never made it home yesterday. Big Bud Dean kidnapped her." Jasmine answered. She refused to call the man her father. To her, he had lost the right to the title eight years ago, just after her mother's death.
"How do you know for certain it was him?" Duke asked, and Jasmine knew it was time for the secret to be revealed.
"Because Heather and I were in a relationship in the summer of 1986. He must've known about it, and he's taken her in order to get to me." Jasmine answered.
"Do you know where he might have taken her?" Mac asked.
"I can think of a few places, but I'm not sure which one." Jasmine answered.
"Well, we need to find her." Duke said.
"I know we do! But the thought of facing the man who has made my life hell since my mother died? It terrifies me. My brother was the only person I could rely on, and then he died protecting me three years ago." Jasmine said. Veronica hesitated, but knew that she couldn't keep it to herself any longer.
"Actually, about that. There's something you need to see. We have to go to the hospital." Veronica said. This earned looks of confusion from the other three, but they followed Veronica anyway, with all four of them getting into Duke's Jeep and driving to the hospital. When they got there, Veronica led them to the room where she knew Jason was still staying in, since the staff had yet to discharge him, despite him having been awake for almost a month now.
"Veronica, why are we here?" Jasmine asked.
"This is going to be a shock, but I need you to trust me on this." Veronica answered.
"You know I do." Jasmine said. Veronica opened the door and led the other three inside. When Jasmine saw the room's occupant, she froze in shock, and she wasn't the only one to do so.
"Jason?" Jasmine questioned in disbelief.
"Hey sis, good to see you again." Jason responded, giving a light smirk. Jasmine all but ran over to the bed and hugged her brother tightly. Jason hugged his twin back, with both of them feeling whole again after three years.
"I'm very confused." Mac said, her confusion visible on her face.
"Jason has been in a coma for the last three years, as a result of being hit in the head by a chair while protecting Jasmine from Big Bud Dean. He woke up almost a month ago." Veronica answered.
"And you didn't tell me?" Jasmine questioned.
"Would you have believed me if I had?" Veronica countered with her own question.
"Valid point." Jasmine conceded, as she knew she wouldn't have believed it.
"So, someone want to bring me up to speed about what's going on? And I'm assuming it has something to do with Heather Chandler not being here?" Jason questioned.
"Dad took her last night. Heather's car was on her driveway, but her parents confirmed she never entered the house. So we estimated that she was taken as she was walking up to her front door." Jasmine answered.
"Wouldn't put it past the bastard. Anyone got any idea where he's taken her?" Jason asked.
"Not yet. That's what we were trying to work out before we came here." Veronica answered.
"I'm not sure if this is relevant, but I overheard my parents talking about an abandoned warehouse near a condemned factory that is due for demolition just on the outskirts of town. Dad reckons all the demolition materials are kept in the warehouse." Mac spoke up.
"A condemned factory due for demolition? That has Dad written all over it. I bet that the company taking care of the situation is his deconstruction company. The old man always did enjoy tearing things down." Jason remarked.
"I don't think either of us need reminding of the Texas incident." Jasmine remarked, causing both her and Jason to shudder, before Mac's words really sunk in.
"The abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of town, that's it! That's where he's keeping Heather. It's out of the way, so no one would think to look for her there. Especially if it's near a demolition site. Everybody would think that only explosives and demolition materials are kept there." Jasmine said.
"How long would it take us to get there?" Duke asked, speaking for the first time since she'd entered the room.
"Maybe thirty minutes, forty minutes at most." Jason answered.
"Then it's time we got you out of this hospital, because there is no way in hell I'm facing our father alone." Jasmine said, leaving the room to go and find a doctor about getting her twin discharged. She returned ten minutes later with a triumphant smirk on her face.
"You're free to leave, dear twin of mine." Jasmine told him.
"About damn time." Jason grumbled, grabbing the clothes Chandler had brought for him the last time she had visited and going into the bathroom to change. When he came back out, he was dressed in a similar outfit to Jasmine, except he also wore a plaid shirt under his trenchcoat.
"Let's go save Heather." Veronica declared. The group of five left the hospital and got into Duke's Jeep, before driving away from the building and starting the journey towards the demolition site.

After roughly half an hour of driving, Duke pulled up and parked around the back of a two-floor warehouse. For a few minutes, none of them spoke as they looked up at the building.
"How the hell are we supposed to find Heather in that place?" Mac almost whined, mostly out of frustration, but also because of how worried she was.
"With luck, I suppose. Alright, when we get in, you three search the bottom floor while keeping an eye out for Bud, and signal us if any of you spot him. Jasmine and I will search the top floor." Veronica said. The others all nodded before they got out of the car and headed into the warehouse. Once inside, Jasmine and Veronica split off from the other three and headed upstairs.
"I really hope she's here, because I have no idea where he might be keeping Heather if she isn't." Jasmine said, trying her best to calm her nerves
"We will find her, I'm sure of it. You focus on looking, I'll keep an ear out for any signals from the others." Veronica said. Then, an idea occurred to Jasmine.
"A signal. That's it! When we were dating, Heather and I had a special signal we would use before meeting each other. One of us would whistle, and the other would whistle back. Maybe we can use that to find her." Jasmine said, before she let out a two-note whistle (Imagine Natasha and Yelena's whistle from Black Widow). The two waited a few minutes, before Jasmine repeated the whistle. That was when they heard a responding whistle, and it sounded quite close, so the two tracked the noise to the end of a hallway, stopping outside a door that upon testing was found to be locked.
"Are we sure this is the right room?" Veronica asked.
"One way to find out. Heather?" Jasmine questioned.
"Yes! I'm in here! He locked me in!" Chandler's voice came through the door. Jasmine took a hairpin from her pocket and made quick work of picking the lock. After hearing the lock click, the two all but yanked the door open and ran inside, not caring that the room inside was pitch-black,. They spotted Chandler leaning against the far wall, and neither of them missed the flinch she gave when they approached her. The two knelt on the ground near the blond, before they both pulled Chandler into a tight hug. The red-clad Heather initially flinched again, but soon felt only relief that she had been found, so she hugged the two back. Jasmine and Veronica could both feel Chandler shaking, no doubt traumatised from being locked in a small, dark room for so long, even though they knew the blonde was likely to deny it if asked. They led Chandler out of the room, and Jasmine's eyes darkened drastically when she saw the bruises on Chandler's face and wrists.
"That bastard. I'll kill him for hurting you. No one hurts my demon queen and gets away with it." Jasmine vowed.
"Oh, I'm helping you. And I think you mean OUR demon queen." Veronica corrected, surprising Chandler.
"What?" Chandler questioned.
"We talked about it the day before we found out you were taken. We want to be with you, Heather. We came to your house planning to ask you out, but obviously that didn't go to plan. Even though this is not the most ideal situation right now, we still want to ask if you'd want to be in a relationship with the two of us." Veronica explained. Chandler was shocked at this revelation, although part of her was relieved that they both wanted to be with her, meaning she didn't have to hide her feelings any more.
"And if anyone at school has an issue with the three of us being in a polyamorous relationship, then that's their problem." Jasmine remarked, which answered the unasked question that the other two had been thinking of. With that final worry put at ease, Chandler took hold of the front of Veronica's blazer with both hands and used it to pull the brunette into a kiss, which Veronica was more than happy to return. The two pulled apart after a minute or so, before Chandler turned to Jasmine, who was giving her the same smile she had always given her the last time they had been in a relationship, and this caused the blonde to blush. But before the two could kiss, the sound of an owl noise made them all jump, but Veronica and Jasmine both knew what it meant.
"He's here." Jasmine said, feeling her nerves rise up.
"Is there any other way to get out of here?" Veronica questioned.
"Only the way we came. Dad was always rather specific about only having one entrance and exit to all warehouses he used. It will be impossible for us to get out without getting caught." Jasmine answered. Knowing the risk, she led Chandler and Veronica back towards the exit. They made it down to the ground floor, but that was when their luck ran out.
