Veronica
I hung my head low when walking through the halls of Westerburg High, but everyone did that. No one wanted to get in the way of the Heathers or any of the football team. Of course, with my luck I accidentally bumped into Ram.
"What the fuck is your problem?" Ram asked, pushing me away from him.
"I-I-I'm s-sorry." I stuttered out.
"You better be—"
"Leave her alone!" I heard the newest addition to the Heathers shout. She stood in between the jock and I, both of them insulting each other until the rest of the Heathers showed up causing the jock to back off completely, "Hey, are you okay?" Veronica asked, kneeling down to pick up a book I had dropped.
"Yeah, I'm fine, thanks." Veronica smiled as I started to make my way to my first class of the day.
"Let me walk with you, I'll make sure Ram won't bother you anymore." I felt myself start to smile as Veronica and I walked to class together.
Martha
Martha, Veronica, and I have all been friends since we were little. I distanced myself a little before high school but I immediately came back when Veronica had left Martha all alone to join the Heathers. I couldn't leave Martha like that and to be honest, I missed her with all of my heart. Martha seemed happy to be speaking with me again and we even set up a day for movie nights again. Of course, we were going to watch The Princess Bride but I liked that movie, I enjoyed happy endings.
Heather Chandler
I was cornered by a certain Heather, her piercing gray eyes staring into mine. Heather McNamara kept yelling at her to stop, but she soon gave up when Duke told her to shut up. Veronica stood there, writing something in her diary as she glanced up to look at me for only a mere second before returning to her writing.
"What's going on here?" The leader of the Heathers came up behind Duke,
"Just some nobody who thinks she can talk to me." Duke spat, glaring at me.
"You're nothing special, Heather, deflate your ego just a little, okay?" Duke went wide eyed as Chandler bit back a smirk.
"But, Heather—"
"Shut up, Heather!" Chandler growled and Duke stopped talking, stepping away from me, "Go to lunch." Chandler commanded the rest of the Heathers, who did just as she commanded. I didn't move from my spot on the floor as Heather's eyes met mine, "So, I have to save you and help you off the ground?" Chandler was clearly being sarcastic as she crossed her arms over her chest. I quickly scurried onto my feet, brushing off my skirt.
"Thank you, Heather!" I squeaked our and Chandler smirked.
"You should be. Just tell me if Duke bothers you again, she can be a real bitch." I looked away to hide my smile as I nodded. I heard Chandler's distant footsteps as she walked to where the rest of the Heathers sat.
Heather Duke
I heard Heather Duke throwing up her lunch in the stall as I checked my makeup, I probably should've left but I couldn't help but check on her. I opened the door just slightly to see her hunched over the toilet, her face pale and looked almost sick as she hurled. Her head snapped back to look at me, "Get out!" She yelled at me, I swung the door open even more.
I kneeled down at her side instead, "Heather, maybe you should stop." She glared at me.
"You really don't know your place, do you?" Heather asked, her gaze not softening.
"C'mon, you're so beautiful...you really don't need to do this." I stood up and pulled Duke up with me, "I know I'm some stupid nobody who probably shouldn't even be touching you but...you should really trust me when I say that you're perfect." Heather's facial expression finally softened and I saw her bite her lip to stop from smiling.
"Thank you." She mumbled, surprising me. I just smiled, shrugging.
"I should probably get going, I don't think you want to be seen with somebody like me."
"Stay. Wait for me, we can walk to class together." I nodded and stood by the door as Duke fixed her makeup and cleaned up her face.
Heather McNamara
I was dragged to this lame ass party with my best friend who left me here to just sit and drink and avoid drunk douchebags who constantly try to make a pass on me.
"It's a party, aren't you supposed to be having fun?" A quiet voice asked me, I turned to see one of the Heathers dressed in all yellow.
"You don't seem very cheerful either." McNamara shrugged, taking a swig of the drink in her hand.
"I guess I've never been a very big fan of parties like these and Heather and Heather both left me for some guys." McNamara explained and I nodded.
"My best friend did the same thing. But if you want, I'll stick by you the entire night. We can have fun, we don't have to be miserable."
"It is supposed to be the party of the year...sure! I deserve to have fun!"
"That's the spirit!" I grinned, taking her hand and leading her off into the crowd.
