BREAKFAST AND KAEL.
Chapter: 58

Reynold had the dining hall decorated beautifully that morning. The tables were all polished to a shine with white tablecloths adorning the surface, and a large vase of roses sat in one corner to give them an air of romance. The chairs had fresh chrysanthemums placed around the edges, which gave off an extra scent. Even the silverware was pristine, gleaming brightly under the light of hundreds of candles lit up throughout the room. It looked like something from a magazine set. He'd even taken it upon himself to arrange the flowers into the shape of hearts and stars as well as his personal favorite - two rosebuds. That seemed appropriate to him, somehow. He smiled at this small victory before he turned back towards the kitchen entrance.
"Morgan. How are things going here?" he called out in his most cheery tone as he approached the kitchen doors. Morgan, the head chef for all the kitchen staff, didn't need to turn away from the oven to answer her boss. She was wearing a black dress under her chef uniform, and her black heels made her feet beautiful, just like usual, her blond hair was tied neatly to keep it out of her face, and sitting atop her head was a toque to keep her hair hidden underneath it.
"Oh, Mr. Reynolds, good morning! Everything is coming along swimmingly, I must say." She replied as she took a tray from the oven and turned off the heat. She then pulled out another tray and placed it down on the cutting board in front of her. "The apple tartlets are almost done baking, and they are perfect, as always." She said, handing over the board and looking down at her shoes for a moment before looking back up with a sheepish expression. "I may have gotten distracted by the chocolate mousse, though," Morgan confessed, pointing at the little mess on the tip of her heels. She leaned forward onto her hands that rested on the countertop. "And you know how much I love making chocolate mousse." She laughed nervously. Reynold couldn't help but smile at this cute woman. Her smile reminded him of sunshine.
"It's fine, Morgan. You're allowed to fall in love even if it's with chocolate mousse." He teased and she laughed harder. He grabbed a knife and cut a piece off the apple tartlet, placing it gently on a small plate, then another handed him a fork, and he took a few bites out of it, nodding approvingly. "This is perfect," He praised after swallowing. Then he took a sip from the champagne flute held out to him by the maid who had served it, taking in the delicious fragrance of the fruit and the crisp flavor of the champagne. "I think I've tasted it all," He said, smiling softly. She laughed again and blushed. "Let's set the table... Alpha and his Omega are on their way down." He announced and she nodded quickly.
As Reynold walked out of the kitchen, he could hear her shouting orders. He paused when he spotted Kael and his son already present at the table. If the Alpha hadn't told him to ignore his childish antics, he would have ushered him away from the table. He nodded to his greetings, with a forced smile then quickly bowed to Raphael and walked past them.

Caleb couldn't feel his legs, he felt too tired to walk even after his Alpha had taken such great care of him. He sat on the edge of the bed and stared at Conri who was smoothing his jacket. He looked great in a turtleneck and a suit jacket like a fashion model. His hair was perfectly gelled back, and everything about him screamed professionalism and power. He didn't know the longer he stared the more excited he got until Conri turned to him with a mischievous glint in his amused eyes.
"Your Pheromones are jumping with excitement," Conri teased. "I thought you were tired." Caleb looked away shyly and stared at his feet instead. "Come on, it's breakfast time," Conri held a hand for him and he took it. The Lycan pulled him into a hug and pressed a kiss to his hair. They stayed that way until they heard Reynold knocking at the door. They both chuckled a little before separating. "Now," Conri said with a smirk, giving a slight wink. "Let's get some food inside you... don't want you dying from hunger!" Caleb giggled at his silly comment before following him out of the bedroom.

Conri led him carefully down the stairs, toward the dining room. Kael frowned upon seeing both Men but brushed the look off his face as he stood up and greeted them respectfully. Caleb smiled politely as Conri helped him pull up his chair before retreating and taking the seat next to him. Kael sat across from them, his son beside him. They didn't speak, there was no need. The atmosphere in the room was pleasant. They ate in relative silence, only talking when necessary. No words were needed.
Their eyes communicated all they wanted to without having to speak, or at least, that's what Caleb thought it meant. Kael looked to be in deep thought. His lips were pursed slightly and his brows furrowed as if he wasn't fully satisfied with whatever he was thinking about. Caleb could only imagine what was running through the Fox's mind. He tried not to stare at him, but couldn't seem to stop himself. He had a strange feeling that if he didn't look at him directly, he wouldn't see the intensity of his gaze on him. Like he was trying to see through him. It made him uneasy, but eventually, he ignored him and ate, till breakfast was over.
Caleb thanked Reynold for the meal, who brushed his thanks aside with a friendly wave. "You're welcome," Reynold said with a warm smile. Caleb nodded politely and turned toward Conri to find him speaking calmly to his son.
"This is my Omega, Caleb, and your Luna from now on," He introduced, and Caleb bowed slightly to the young Lynox.
"Hello, Luna, my name is Raphael," He placed a hand on his chest and bowed deeply. Caleb noticed Kael tense a bit but otherwise remained calm. "Thank you so much for welcoming me into your Pack!" Raphael said, flashing a toothy grin at him. "I promise I'll be very respectful."
Caleb was surprised to hear this, and he was laughing warmly before he knew it. "That's a very kind thing to say, young Lynox." He said as he smiled. Conri laughed a little as he ruffled Raphael's hair, messing it up as his son scowled playfully, and fixed it back to normal. "I look forward to getting to know you better." He winked at him. Raphael nodded and turned back to his Birth Omega.
"He is so nice!" He declared with a happy expression. "He has such a pretty smile too."
Kael's face burned from anger, but he tried to control himself as he turned toward his son. "Prettier than your Birth Omega's?" He asked, staring daggers at Caleb. Caleb glared right back, not backing down from his constant hateful glares. "You cheeky little thing," He pinched his son's cheeks and the little boy whined, and ran off to go find his playmates.
"He's an Omega," Caleb turned toward Conri who nodded in agreement to his word. "He's precious," He added, his words still when he saw servants filling the room.
Reynold returned with the house workers, and once Conri noticed this, he got on his feet and held a hand for Caleb who took it and stood beside him. "Thank you all for your hard work, and for taking care of my Omega while he worked amongst you... But, as you can already tell, those days are over. He is no longer a servant, but your Luna, always has been, and my Erasthai... Treat him with more respect than you would treat me, and take care of him in my absence." He instructed, although his voice sounded calm, they held a threat within. Kael growled, glaring daggers at the scene unfolding. There were murmurs of agreement as everyone nodded solemnly to their Luna, bowing low before heading back inside upon dismissal.
Conri turned to face Caleb, the weretiger held sparkles in his eyes, and a smile so captivating flushed his cheeks. He placed a hand behind his neck and smiled brightly. "Welcome Home," He said, leaning close and kissing him softly on the lips. Caleb could barely breathe as he closed his eyes and leaned his head forward. It felt like fireworks exploding in his skull, his heart skipped several beats, and his breath caught in his throat.
For a brief instant, just for a moment, everything around him faded away, leaving nothing but him and Conri. His heartbeat quickened as Conri caressed his arm lightly, and pulled away, still smiling. Caleb opened his eyes slowly, trying to calm himself down. Everything seemed to blur together for a second, and the room spun slightly. "Are you okay? You look like you're going to pass out." He said with concern laced in his voice, and he placed one hand on Caleb's shoulder, squeezing his arm reassuringly. The sudden touch shocked him, and he jerked a little backward. "Caleb?" He asked, holding him tightly this time. "What's the matter, darling?"
He shook his head lightly and cleared his throat. "Nothing really, I'm alright..." He reassured him. "Can I visit my mother today?" He asked, and Conri stared deeply into his eyes for a brief moment before he replied.
"Of course, you can, but Reece and Mano will be with you. They will always be with you from here on, don't worry, they're a handful, those twins, you'll have a great time with them... and after that, tell them to bring you to the Swans, you'll love it there." Conri offered and Caleb nodded with a smile. Conri tilted his head upwards and leaned forward to place another lingering kiss on his mouth. This time, Caleb responded with equal fervor. He wrapped his arms around his lover's waist and pulled him closer, deepening their kiss as Conri's hands wandered under his shirt. The kiss didn't end when he heard a cough behind them. Caleb let go of Conri instantly and turned around embarrassed.
Conri met his Betas gaze with a death glare, and Dom squirmed under the intensity of his gaze. "What?!" Conri demanded from them, and Colleen rolled his eyes playfully.
"Crystal, 10 o'clock," He simply informed Conri who let out a deep growl.
"Come on Alpha, you didn't leave them satisfied the last time, so now you owe them!" Clyde grinned widely as Conri shot daggers at him from the corner of his eyes. "I mean Colleen tried his best, but none can control those Monsters better than you!"
Conri's eyes wandered over to Dom who stood hiding away behind Colleen, and he shook his head, knowing exactly what his Beta was trying to control himself from. "It's fine, Dominic, you can touch him." He permitted and the words barely left his mouth before Dom rushed toward Caleb and pulled him into a hug. He eyed him up and down, and searched his body for any visible wounds, then came the floods of questions.
"Are you alright? He didn't hurt you, did he? Was he gentle with you? I know he wasn't, you need a dip in the Hot spring, it'll do your body good, and I have this great body oil, they're from the dragons, and they will soothe every ache and burn, and you'll be strong in no time!" Dominic rambled on without catching a breath, and it left Caleb grinning from ear to ear at the Beta. Sometimes, he wondered how such a strong, beautiful Werewolf ended up being a Beta. He should have been an Omega, and what great Birth Omega he would make. Caleb glanced at Conri, noticing him giving Dominic a soft and proud smile as the Beta hugged him tighter.
"Easy Dom, easy, calm down..." Caleb said soothingly, patting him gently on the back, and Dom released him. The Beta was panting heavily in his enthusiasm. He rubbed at Caleb's biceps and flashed him a wide smile, nodding vigorously. "I'd love to join you in the Hot spring tonight. It sounds lovely there." Caleb smiled at him.
"Hey! What about me?! You never asked if I was hurt. I need a Hot spring and dragon oil too!" Conri complained loudly.
Dominic chuckled and looked at Conri with a smug grin. "Not a chance..." He said with a smirk. "Don't he have a meeting to be at in fifteen minutes?" He asked, looking at his fellow Betas.
All three nodded and Anya began pulling the Alpha toward the door. He looked back at Caleb with a sheepish smile. "I love you," He muttered and Caleb nodded. "Save me some Hot Spring," This had Caleb giggling as he watched him disappear through the door. "Wait a moment," Conri paused, one hand placed on the car door. "Shouldn't Dominic be with us?" He asked, and Anya rolled her eyes.
"He's better with your Omega," She said.
"I'm sure Eva will be with them shortly," Clyde grinned into Conri's worried features. "Oh, would you relax!"
"Reece and Mano... Dominic and Eva," Anya muttered as if only now seeing the Alpha's cause for worry. "They will spoil him," She said after a while.
"All the better for you, Alpha," Colleen said, clasping a hand around his shoulder. "Get in, we are running late." He ushered the Lycan into the car, and Conri obliged albeit reluctantly.
"Seriously, you all know what that oil does to an Omega's Pheromones, right?" Anya asked, sliding in beside the now groaning Conri.
All the Betas laughed.

Kael sat there and watched as Dominic dragged Caleb away. He wasn't the slightest happy. He just sat there like an invisible Were. None took notice of him. Kael couldn't stand being ignored by anyone. He clenched his fists tightly at his sides. How dare they act so dismissive toward him? After everything, he's done! He is the Birth Omega to the Alpha's firstborn, and they treat him like this. He stood up suddenly. His entire body seemed to shake as he glared daggers at the doors. He felt his claws digging into his palms. "I'll show them," He muttered with grit teeth, clenching his jaw, and let out a growl as he slammed open the doors and stormed out.
He'll show all of them.
