ALPHA'S RAGE.

Chapter: 6.
******

"What happened last night, Alpha?" Colleen asked, his Alpha as he gently placed a mug of calming potion by his side. Conri hissed and ignored his question as he reached to grab the mug and drank it all in one go, wincing at the taste. He could feel his face heat up at how bitter the taste was. Damn, they keep upping his dosages. He's going to get tired of drinking this shit sooner than later.

Conri set down the now empty mug with a heavy sigh and glared at his Betas. He could see how bothered they were. He wished he could tell them what had happened last night but he couldn't. Even he doesn't want to accept whatever the hell it was that had happened.

"Can we please focus on the mission first?" He snapped, pushing himself away from the table. They should've known better than to ask him about last night's activities when he was so adamant about avoiding answering their questions.

"Alpha!" Dom growled, moving around the table to block the exit to the room. Conri sighed heavily and rolled his eyes. "Please, Alpha, you're scaring us...Fuck, the entire Pack has been on edge all day and it's your mood thats clouding us, they're starting to panic!"

"You think I'm scaring my Pack?!" Conri exclaimed, glaring daggers at them. "I have been protecting this Pack since the beginning. How dare you accuse me of being a threat?!" The room was silent, his Betas staring at him in shock. It was rare for Conri to raise his voice or show any sort of emotion other than apathy or irritation, the room felt tense and cold, even with the fire crackling in the fireplace.

Dom knew he'd probably regret the words coming out of his mouth the next moment but he couldn't help it. "No one is accusing you, Alpha, you're our Alpha, we love you and that's why we care!" The room fell into silence again while Dom waited anxiously for Conri to say something.

"I don't need your care." Conri seethed his Lycan on the surface.

"You stubborn son of a bitch." Colleen snarled. "If you didn't fucking trust us enough to give us some answers, then how the fuck are we supposed to trust you?" He growled causing the Alpha of Alphas to lunge forward but Colleen had already moved out of the way causing Conri to slam his fist into the table, snapping it in half. Colleen stumbled backward, his eyes blown wide with shock. He would have been severely hurt if that punch had touched him. Dominic stared at Conri's hand, watching as blood started pouring out of the cut on his knuckles. He glanced up at his Alpha who looked furious and almost pained. It hurt them more knowing he was in so much pain yet he wouldn't tell them anything.

"You trust me because I am the Alpha Of Alphas," Conri growled.

"Not when you're acting like a fucking child!" Colleen returned.

"Are you challenging me?" Conri hissed. His voice was rough and low, causing his Betas' hearts to race. Dominic has never seen his Alpha in such a vulnerable state before, the Alpha was always calm, composed, and above all, collected. The room was silent once more except for Conri's labored breathing. All eyes were fixed upon the bleeding Alpha in front of them, no longer able to look his Betas in the eye. He had made a mistake, big time. If he hadn't pushed the limits of his own tolerance, then maybe this wouldn't be happening.

"Forgive me, Alpha, I wouldn't dare challenge you, you're my Alpha but look around you. Did you see anyone walking around freely, the cloud is dark, the forest, this is all your doing, Alpha, this is why your calming potion was more than its usual dosage, the Elders are afraid you will burn the entire Pack down taking us all with you. This is why we are worried, why we are afraid." Dom said quietly. He watched as his Alpha dropped to the floor, sitting cross-legged on the ground holding his head in his hands. The room grew quiet once more, Dom and Colleen's shoulders drooping as they silently prayed for their Alpha to snap out of this trance. They had never seen him like this before, even in the deepest darkest periods of their pack's history, Conri had remained aloof, indifferent even. Their Alpha always seemed to know exactly what to say or how to handle everything. Now, they didn't know how to react to the broken and vulnerable man before them.

"You're right, this is all my fault, as the Alpha, I should control my emotions and not risk the lives of my subordinates and my Pack. I apologize for attacking you Colleen, and Dom, I raised my voice at you, I shouldn't have done that, I shouldn't be allowed to raise my voice to either of you. You're both my most trusted members and my top warriors, I will continue to work hard to earn your respect and loyalty." Conri stood and walked over to where Colleen was standing, gently placing a hand on his shoulder.

"You don't have to earn it, Alpha, you have it, and we will always stand by you." Colleen hugged the Alpha tightly and nuzzled his cheek against his neck. Dom joined in on the hug, wrapping an arm around Conri's waist and resting his head on his shoulder. They held each other until they began to pull away but only long enough for Conri to whisper something to them.

"What?!" Both Betas gasped with eyes widened with shock.

"You can't be serious, Alpha," Dom whispered and the other nodded vigorously. The two stood frozen in place.

"Then what else would you call what happened?" Conri said as if they knew what he was talking about.

"You know we can't read your mind, right?" Colleen said hesitantly. "Which is unfair seeing you can read ours and everyone else at will." He added sheepishly. They were just waiting to hear the Alpha explain but they weren't getting it.

"Well, are you going to explain?" Dom pressed, crossing his arms.

Conri sighed softly and took a deep breath before looking at both Betas and nodding. "I think the witch's curse is real otherwise how else would you explain a Tiger for a mate, huh?"

"Your Mate is a Tiger?!" Colleen interpreted.

"Look, it's impossible to have a Cat for a Mate, the witch's curse is the only explanation for this madness. I think she's after me." Conri said, his eyebrows furrowed and his jaw clenched.

Colleen and Dom shared a look before speaking up. "We understand you must be worried, Alpha but we do not agree with you." Snapping his eyes to his Betas, Conri frowned.

"What do you mean?"

"How are you missing the point that you have finally found your Mate?!" Dom shouted.

"He can't be my Mate," Conri grumbled under his breath, crossing his arms on his chest as he avoided eye contact with the pair.

"Bullshit!" Colleen yelled. "Now that he's a Tiger it explains why you haven't found him in so long so their Clan moving here is a sign, Alpha, don't you see it."

"He is not my Mate!" Conri yelled, his anger returning.

"How do you know that?" Dom pressed.

"Didn't you Bond with your Mate first before they bore your Mate's Mark?"

"Yes, why?" Dom asked with a frown.

"This Tiger already bore my Mark!"

"What?!" Dom asked.

"I never saw him before in my life, never mated with him and somehow, he already bore The Alpha's Moon," Conri explained further, leaving his Betas in a more confusing state. The room grew silent for a moment before Colleen spoke up.

"That's not possible,"

"See why it is the witches doing?" Conri asked angrily.

"You might be right." Colleen conceded.

"Might?" Conri asked, annoyed.

"Well..." Colleen started but Conri would not have that.

"I am right, Col."

"So, wait," Dom began, ignoring their conversation. "You're telling me that you have burnt half our forests, killed nearly half our livestock, and chased the other half away, scared our people all day today because a witch tricked you last night?" He asked softly. Conri nodded slowly, biting his lip. "Then this can't all be the witch's trickery." Dom finished.

"You should summon your Fathers, or speak with your Luna, I'm sure they will have answers to this and as for the forest, we have work to do, Dom, come on!" Colleen said, grabbing his second by the wrist and pulling him along towards the door leading out of the room. "Get your Dads, they will summon the Elders, I'm sure, they will know what to do... we have a forest to regenerate."

"What about the mission?" Conri asked.

"Your Mate might be among the Tiger Clan, until we are proven otherwise, there will be no racing down the Clan," Dom told their Alpha from the door.

"Are you saying the mission is off?" Conri asked in disbelief.

"Yes." Colleen agreed.

"I'm the Alpha!"

"And we are your Betas!" Both Beta replied with raised brows.

"If I'm going to my Fathers today then shouldn't you both be with me?" Conri asked.

"Take Mano and Reece, we have things to do here," Dom said with a shrug.

"The Dumb Twins?" Conri frowned.

"It's either them or you go alone, your choice, Alpha, see you later." With that said both Beta left the Alpha alone to pounder.
