Storm and Blanket
You stayed where you were, cuddled into Hussain's chest as the thunder and the rain clattered against the windows; you were not a fan of storms.
"Hussain, I don't like it," you said.
"I know baby, but it will pass and I'm here, were safe, watching TV, like we usually are." He reassured you.
"Were doing everything we usually do, the only difference is the weather." He added, rubbing your arm soothingly.
The weather was a huge distraction for you as you couldn't concentrate on the TV, you didn't even know what you were watching because you were too focused on the weather and how much you didn't like thunder storms.
Suddenly, the power went off, leaving you and Hussain sat in the dark as the TV got cut off.
"Hussain!" You shrieked as you felt him move away from you.
"Shh, calm down Rida, I'm going to go and get some blankets for us," he said.
"Why? I don't want you to, I'm scared." You admitted as the thunder and rain continued to make loud crashing sounds outside.
"I will be quick babe and I'll bring us a torch so we can see a bit better." He reassured you.
"Just stay where you are, okay? I'm only going upstairs," he informed you, kissing your forehead multiple times before getting up and leaving the room.
You closed your eyes, trying to focus on something else rather than the weather as you waited for Hussain to get back.
"Ow that hurt! Ow!" You heard Hussain shriek.
"Hussain? Are you okay?" You called out.
"Yeah, don't worry Jaan, I'm - oww!" He cut himself off as you heard a banging sound.
A few minutes later you heard him stumbling into the room as you could make out his figure from across the room.
"I stubbed my toe twice and it hurt." He explained as he sat down next to you.
"Where are you?" He asked as he patted the couch.
He switched the torch on, shining it upwards towards his face so you could see him.
"There you are," he grinned, shuffling closer to you as he placed the blankets over you.
"Thank you Sain," you breathed out, feeling much less nervous.
He placed the blankets over the both of you, putting the torch down in between you both so you could see each other before wrapping his arms around you and gently pulling you into him.
"Are you okay?" He asked you, concern lacing his voice as he leaned in to place his head in the crook of your neck.
"Yeah, I am now." You said, sighing in relief.
"Good, now let's just cuddle and wait for the power to come back on," he said, snuggling closer to you.
"That could be a while." You stated.
"I know, but it's okay as long as I'm with my wifey," he said, smiling at you and you laughed.
"I love you Hussain," you said, hugging him tighter.
"I love you too Rida," he said, kissing your neck lightly.
"The good thing about storms is the fact that I get to cuddle you so much." Hussain said, sweetly.
"Yeah I guess that's the only thing I don't mind about them." You replied.
"Shall we tell funny stories?" Hussain asked, excitedly.
"We have the torch for it and everything," he added.
"Go on then," you laughed, loving the adorable side of him.
As long as you were with Hussain, you could focus your mind completely on him, no longer noticing the storm outside.
