Taehyung and Jungkook continued to meet at the rooftop....both of them silently sitting there... not meddling with the other yet feeling comfortable with each other....

Both were aware of the subtle glances Jungkook threw at Taehyung...and the long stares Taehyung would be giving Jungkook...

This went on until a fine morning Jungkook walked up the rooftop... covered in bruises making Taehyung panic....unusually

' Jungkook what happened?' Taehyung asked alarmed as he jumped up from his place...his sketch book falling down from his lap as he made his way towards the other

Jungkook looked at the concerned boy in front of him...his eyes wandering towards the long forgotten pencil and book on the ground and back to Taehyung

' Hyung' Taehyung called... softly cupping his cheeks... careful enough to not hurt him

' That's new Kim' Jungkook chuckled...his hand now placed over Taehyung's hand on his cheeks...' Never saw that coming'

Taehyung scoffed pulling his hand back...but the worry in his eyes never ceased ' That's all you heard?'

Jungkook shrugged walking past the younger... bending down taking the book only for it to be snatched out of his hands

' Answer me' Taehyung crossed his arms over his chest...but Jungkook didn't fail to notice the tight grip Taehyung had on his book

' Just got into a fight' Jungkook mumbled as he sat down

' With whom?...Its not like anyone from our school will be brave enough to fight the Jeon Jungkook!!' Taehyung asked but Jungkook just stared at him

Taehyung shook his head... turning around leaving

' Taehyung...where are you going' Jungkook called out but the younger didn't stop... He just leaned back on his elbow when the same sketch book caught his attention.... He looked one more time at the door before extending his hand towards the book only to retract it back when he saw Taehyung returning..but this time with a small box in his hand.

' Where did you get that from?' Jungkook asked as Taehyung took out some cotton swabs

' The nurse....had to show her my puppy eyes and look where I am now' Taehyung chuckled as he dabbed the cotton over the other's lips.... He scooted closer applying a bit of pressure over the wounded part when a hiss left the elder's mouth ' Oh sorry'

Jungkook opened his eyes...his gaze directly falling onto the boy who was so carefully taking care of his busted lips....his brows creased in concentration and tongue poking out between his lips...

Jungkook's whole body froze when Taehyung blew over his wound...the younger's warm breath hitting his lips making his heart flutter... He held his breath as Taehyung leaned more closer.... blowing onto his wound

Taehyung did everything he knew to take care of Jungkook...he kept back the medicine in the box and turned back towards Jungkook.... ' Is it hurting?'

Jungkook nodded unknowingly...his mind still in a frenzy

Taehyung frowned as he looked back at the elder's lips and that's when he noticed it...the mole under his lips....It was something he never noticed....he raised his hand...his thumb running over the mole as Jungkook froze

Jungkook's heartbeats picked up when he saw Taehyung leaning in again..but before he could loose his mind again he spoke up

' My dad hit me'

Taehyung stilled....his wide bambi eyes now locked with Jungkook's ' Your dad? Why?'

' We had a fight and I just talked back to him....and then shit happened' Jungkook shrugged

' Doesn't give him the right to do this to you' Taehyung scowled

' He doesn't think so...' Jungkook sighed

' Oh... then who does he think he is?' Taehyung rolled his eyes

' You don't know?' Jungkook asked.... shock evident in his voice

' No?'

' Oh'

' What?'

' Nothing..' Jungkook gave a dismissive wave of hand 'Am leaving now'

Taehyung didn't even get a chance to react to it as Jungkook had already stood up.. walking towards the door

' Hey Kim' Jungkook called out

' Yeah?'

' Wanna grab something to eat....with me?'

Taehyung's lips curved up as he nodded... standing up

Days turned into weeks and weeks into months... and slowly Taehyung and Jungkook were becoming best of friends...both of them would always be spotted together..be it while during the breaks...or outside campus...or even while getting scolded or in detention....it was as if Jungkook was Taehyung's shadow....

But even shadows also leave when the darkness of life seeps in... right?

Anyway....there are even kids who bet among themselves...half of them claiming that Tae and Kook are a thing now...and the other claiming the opposite.... Even Taehyung and Jungkook were widely aware of all these but they never had the courage to talk about it with each other

Both of them came into each other's life when they were struggling alone...when they needed a shoulder to cry on and slowly yet deeply they filled in the empty spaces in each other's life... sealing up all the cracks in their hearts.. healing them.... They both knew that their feelings has crossed the border of friends...yet being scared of opening up of those scars made them hold back their feelings for each other...but for how long? Only time can reveal

It was one similar day when Taehyung was walking back home after class....with his eyes glued to his phone.. texting Jungkook who didn't come to school... without even giving him a heads up about that and to add to that no matter how many texts he sent Jungkook was not replying to even one

Taehyung was again going to type in something when he heard a horn making him turn around and saw a black car stopping right next to him.... The window glass slid down and a head peeked out making Taehyung scoff

' You! Where the fuck were you??' Taehyung almost hit the laughing male

' Taehyungie...' Jungkook called softly ' Something came up and I had to leave'

' Could have atleast told me' A small pout was formed on his lips...as he looked down missing the way Jungkook gulped

' Umm..Kook?'

And that's when Taehyung noticed the owner of the voice who was at the driving seat...A handsome man..may be one or two years older than Jungkook..yet his aura was powerful

' Oh..Tae' Jungkook called again ' This is Yoongi hyung.... Hyung this is Taehyung my friend'

' Its finally good to meet you Taehyung...heard a lot about you from him' Yoongi said giving a tight lipped smile

Taehyung awkwardly stood their not knowing how to respond to that...but he finally managed to fumble out something ' Good to meet you too..hyung'

' Tae...come lets go..get in the car' Jungkook said suddenly

' Go? Where?' Taehyung frowned

' You ask a lot of questions.. just get in already'

Taehyung sighed giving into the elder's wishes as he got into the back seat.... He saw Yoongi glancing at him once in a while through the mirror before the car came to a stop

' Bye hyung' Jungkook looked at Yoongi ' Come on Tae'

Taehyung thanked Yoongi before getting out trailing behind Jungkook

' What are we doing here?' He asked as he looked around....walking up into the forest

' Walking?'

' Wow Jeon Jungkook your sense of humor amazes me' Taehyung gritted out

'My charms have always been undeniable ' Jungkook goofed making Taehyung just roll his eyes 'No matter what life I am in darling'

Taehyung burst out laughing at that...his eyes forming small crescents as his nose scrunched cutely...his euphonious laughs filling the air as Jungkook found himself getting lost in Taehyung.... The younger had one had clutching onto his stomach with the other on Jungkook's shoulder supporting himself as Jungkook continued staring....

He has never seen the younger like this...Kim Taehyung had always been described as a lost soul who was just existing..but this...this was not the Taehyung the whole school has seen... this is the Taehyung only Jungkook knows and a voice in him declared on it's own that he will do anything to see this Taehyung again....

' Oh god Jungkook' Taehyung said.. controlling his laughs ' I never knew you were this goof..'

' There are a lot of things that you don't know about me Tae...' Jungkook smiled

' Oh come on Jungkookie...we have our whole lives ahead... I'll know you little by little' Taehyung said grinning

' Do we?' Jungkook asked ' We are graduating by the end of this year Taehyung ah...'

' So you won't talk to me ever after that?' Taehyung asked as he followed Jungkook who was now walking ahead

' Why wouldn't I?'

' Just because' Jungkook shrugged

' Don't be like that Kook...' Taehyung mumbled....he himself doesn't know why he is not very fond of the idea of not talking to Jungkook ever again...he was lost in thoughts when Jungkook turned towards him with an eye blinding smile

' Look around Taetae'

Even though the name did something to his heart... Taehyung's whole body froze when he saw his surrounding... they were near the edge of a cliff now....the setting sun casting its vibrant hues over the sky with birds flying back to their nest...a soothing cold wind blew.. ruffling through his hair

' You liked it?' Jungkook asked ' This place?'

' It's.... it's so peaceful' Taehyung breathed out ' What are you doing?'

Jungkook just ignored that as he sat down...his legs dangling down the edge as he extended his hand for Taehyung..who hesitantly held him.. sitting down beside him

Both of them sat side by side... basking in the calmness of the forest

' You see that building there Tae' Jungkook pointed out

'Yeah' Taehyung nodded

' That's SNU....the university I'll be joining once we graduate from here' Jungkook said as Taehyung turned towards him ' Even though am not much fond of the idea...I must go there....And I heard that the arts department is also very good there...'

' Why are you telling me that?' Taehyung frowned

' I know you want to pursue arts once in college...and I want you with me when I go there....' Jungkook sighed ' Call me selfish Taehyung... but I really do want you in SNU'

Taehyung felt his stomach flip at Jungkook's words and the way he was now staring at him making him lower his eyes ' W-why?'

' I never felt like a stranger with you'

Taehyung looked up..stunned at the sudden confession

' You... you were like someone I knew for a long time....even on the first day on the rooftop...I was so comfortable with you as if I have known you all my life' Jungkook said....his eyes fixed on to the dusk sky
' I have never been close to someone like this Tae.... Yes I have my hyungs..whom am seeing from my childhood but apart from them you are the first one whom I dared to hold close'

Taehyung looked at the male with furrowed brows as he continued ' My life was never a normal one....my family was always a mess....dad loved his company more than us...and mom..she was lucky enough to leave this world before her life turned much more worse than how it was....Dad just takes out his anger on me no matter how much I tried to be his favorite...and then slowly I turned into something stark opposite of what he wanted me to...and to add to that...I came out as gay..and that too in a household that is homophobic to the core...'

Jungkook laid down on the grass patting the space beside him for Taehyung... which the younger wordlessly followed ' I have a cousin brother... Kim Seokjin...he is the first one in our family who came out... It was epic..he once came home during a family function with his boyfriend and introduced him to the whole world... Dad was ready to throw him out but hyung's parents loved their son more than anyone and thus they ended up getting disowned by dad and our family business....'

' His boyfriend..Joon is very kind..and treats Jin hyung like a prince...loves him like no tomorrow... They both study at SNU...and they moved out into their own apartment... Then there is Yoongi hyung..whom you saw just now...and his brother Hobi hyung...... Jimin and Hobi hyung...both of them went to states with Yoongi hyung's appa who opened a restaurant there... so they both did their schooling there...
Jiminie hyung will be back by the time we graduate while Hobi and Yoongi joined with Jin and Joon hyung... These are my brothers...even though not related by blood....we are like a family... always sticking together no matter what'

'There was a time when I became so used to the shits going on in my life that I was never affected by it and the only time you'd see me suffer is when my hyungs are in pain.... it's still the same... I'll kill but can't see my hyungs suffer..'

' You love your hyungs a lot right' Taehyung smiled

' I do' Jungkook turned on his sides...now both of them facing each other 'But what I wanted to say is...you didn't see me just for some hours and look at you...you have been flooding my phone with calls and messages and no...no am not calling you clingy or miserable or anything negative...am just letting you know that getting closer to me comes with it's own risks....I will never be the perfect person anyone would want in a friend...or anything...my dad hates the fact that his son is into boys and he'd go any extend to make sure his reputation never gets soiled....I can't let him hurt you anyway Taehyung'

' Koo-'

' Enough of my sad story' Jungkook said stopped Tae again ' Now tell me something about yourself...I have kept my whole life open in front of you and yet I don't know anything about you'

Taehyung smiled softly... clearly understanding that Jungkook doesn't want to talk anymore about what he just said

' I don't have much to say about me you know' Taehyung sighed...both of them still laying face to face 'My parents were killed in an accident when I was just 9.... It was basically my fault... Appa was peacefully driving...eomma beside him...me on the back seat.. should have just kept quiet...but me being me..was acting like a brat...I don't remember much of what happened..but I remember appa and eomma turning towards me looking at me as if it was the last time they will be seeing me and the next thing I knew was our car crashing into something...'

Jungkook's eyes widened...he was not expecting things to take such a turn...he extended his hand wiping off a stray tear that left Taehyung's beautiful eyes

' My uncle took me in...but he was very abusive...used to beat me alot...then on my 14th birthday I ran away from him... Thankfully no one came searching for me' Taehyung sniffled ' So basically I am an orphan living off on scholarships and part times....'

' You know you are so brave Tae' Jungkook cupped his cheeks as the younger smiled ' Never knew life was so hard for you'

' Look who is saying....if I was in your place...I would have ran away again' Taehyung chuckled as Jungkook smiled softly

' Keep smiling like this Tae... happiness suits you' Jungkook mumbled

And there goes Taehyung's heart....as a blush decorated his cheeks

' Kookie' Taehyung called ' I will be with you in SNU no matter what I have to do for that....'

' Tae'

' I will work hard..day and night...try my best to get the scholarship...' Taehyung snuggled closer ' Because am not ready to leave you alone... I know you will have your hyungs there...and I might be an outcast-'.

' You will never be that-'

'Shh' Taehyung kept his hand over Jungkook's mouth 'I don't know why getting closer to you is risky...nor do I want you to be the perfect person because this is the Jungkook with whom I would want to stay... Even if there comes a time when you won't be wanting me with you... I'll still be there....close to you...just a call away'

Taehyung was quick to wipe off the tear that was about to leave Jungkook's eyes...his hand still on the elder's cheeks as they stared at each other

Jungkook had his heart in his mouth when he saw Taehyung leaning in...his own eyes closing as Taehyung joined their foreheads....

' Taetae will always be with you Koo'

' Why should I when I have you' Jungkook asked.. looking extremely genuine and there went Taehyung's heart melting into a puddle...

' You...you' Taehyung tried to say something back but his mind was short circuiting

' Me what petal?' Jungkook asked leaning a bit towards the younger ' Tell me'

' You are an idiot!' Taehyung huffed....his whole face red now as Jungkook threw his head back.. laughing out loud drawing the attention of the rest of the students around them

' Sure' Jungkook mumbled as he controlled his laughs
' When is your shift?'

' At 5'

' We have two hours....so what's the plan?'

' What plan?' Taehyung quirked a brow

' We have two hours before your shift what are we gonna do?' Jungkook rolled his eyes

' I don't know'

Jungkook just snorted ' You are the idiot!'

' Says the one who slept through out history class and when being asked questions..said the answer from physics!' Taehyung scoffed

' It was not my fault' Jungkook argued ' I was sleeping'

' You could have atleast used your last existing braincell and listened to the question...I mean who talks about quantum theory when asked about the Korea-Japan war'

' Look....First of all I took a whole month to learn that stupid theory...and second.. who the hell asks a sleeping boy questions as punishment for sleeping in the middle of the class? And that to about the topic she just taught..come on Tae that's fucking ridiculous!'

Taehyung laughed seeing the done look on Jungkook's face.. the elder literally looked like a kicked puppy with his doe eyes and button nose

' I can understand you bunny'

' Yaa! I told you not to call me that!' Jungkook whinned making Taehyung laugh more

They were still in the middle of this when they heard a horn and saw Yoongi waving at them

' Yoonie hyung' Taehyung yelled running towards the elder who had a wide gummy smile.... Over the past 5 months Taehyung and Yoongi had grown very close...with Yoongi absolutely adoring the younger boy

Yoongi had a soft smile playing on his lips as he looked at the two boys who were bickering like some small kids....They were at Seon Halmonie's shop...a place introduced to them by Taehyung.. waiting for their food and Jungkook's special samgyeopsal when Taekook decided that it's the perfect time to start their meaningless fights

' Yoongi Hyungiee he is a meanie!!' Taehyung pouted looking at Yoongi.. pulling him out of his thoughts

' I swear to god if you take his side one more time am disowning you!' Jungkook also whinned..

' Yaa!! Who are you to disown me!!' Yoongi asked shocked ' And please... don't drag me into these stupid fights of yours...am telling you guys one day even if you fight seriously and turn into enemies I won't be there to solve it..no matter how much you two beg'

' As if we will ever do that' Jungkook snickered

' What? Beg?' Yoongi asked

' No' Taehyung shook his head ' We will never fight..even if we fight we will never become enemies who will hate each other.. right Koo'

Jungkook nodded his head eagerly as Yoongi scoffed whipped ass

' Then what will you be? Enemies who will love each other?'

' That sounds much better' Jungkook nodded making Yoongi sigh in defeat

' What? Bunny?' Taehyung asked innocently before a goofy smile crept up his lips 'Oh I will... You are a cute bunny!'

' Yaaa!!' Jungkook yelled running towards Taehyung who screamed as he ran from there ' Just wait till I catch you tiger...'

' I won't let you catch me' Taehyung giggled as he ran through a narrow alley with Jungkook almost catching up to him

' Stop there Tae...am warning you' Despite his words Jungkook was laughing ' Taehyung am-'

Jungkook stilled....his legs rooting to their place when he saw where they actually were

' Tae..this...' He felt tongue tied at the beauty of the field they were at

' Did you like it Koo' Taehyung asked excitedly

' This is beautiful' Jungkook said as if he was in some daze for in front of him laid a big sunflower field... It was all sunflowers he could see till his sight reached and the sky took a shade of yellowish orange as dusk crept in slowly... making everything seem magical

' I know right' Taehyung yelled ' This is one of my favourite places Kookiee... I always come here every year....I just love this place'

Jungkook turned towards Taehyung only to have his breath hitch....for the said boy was already in the middle of the flowers... twirling himself around with his arms extended out....a wide boxy smile on lips as soft laughs left him...his blonde hair glowing under the golden rays of the sun and his honey kissed skin appear to be sparkling like glitter...and those brown eyes... god Jungkook just wanted to get lost in those brown orbs and never come back....

( imagine him having brown eyes)

He took a step forward...still mesmerized by the beauty in front of him.... wondering how someone can look this beautiful...this ethreal....how someone this enchanting could have such a painful life...but then again...the most beautiful smiles have the most painful past....

Taehyung stopped whatever he was doing when he saw Jungkook walking towards him....his own heart beats rising at the way the elder was gazing at him

Taehyung took in a sharp breath when Jungkook pulled him into his chest...his hands unknowingly coming to rest on Jungkook's chest with the elder's hands around his waist.. holding him in place

' Hyung' Taehyung breathed out

' Now I know it's true' Jungkook murmured...

' What is true?' Taehyung frowned

' There is a myth...that brown eyes ones used to shine like the moon...so to hide their charm they were colored by the river of heaven's honey' Jungkook explained...his eyes still locked with Taehyung's ' Now I can see why the myth started... your eyes Tae...they are heavenly charming'

Taehyung lowered his eyes....his cheeks burning red...the position they were and the words Jungkook was letting out was not helping his poor heart calm down

' Look at me' Jungkook's authorative voice was heard 'Never look away from me Tae....your eyes are the only thing making me want to stay alive....your presence is the only reason am still sane in this hellhole'

' Koo-'

' You came into my life... when I was lost in the darkness.... you could have easily left...but you decided to stay...every single time... You held my hand...lead me out of there...you taught me to be happy...you taught me how to be alive when I was just surviving...you Taehyung...you are the light that guides me...my Inara'

Jungkook smiled as he wiped off the tears that left the younger who was rooted to his place ' You have the full right to stop me'

Taehyung blinked...his heart pacing at an animalistic pace as Jungkook leaned in dangerously close...his breath fanning over Taehyung's lips making him shudder...

Jungkook glanced at the younger's wide eyes and parted lips...his grip around Taehyung's waist tightened as he pulled him closer..if that was even possible..

'You still have the chance to stop me' Jungkook whispered over his lips...a smile on his face seeing the way Taehyung closed his eyes....

Jungkook leaned completely in... closing the gap...a sigh leaving him the second their lips met...Peace..this is all he felt at the moment..the feeling making him forget about everything and everyone in his life

Taehyung's arms curled around Jungkook's neck as he tilted his head.. deepening the kiss....as he moved his lips.....a whole swarm of butterfly in his tummy making him feel giddy

They don't know for how long they kissed... before Taehyung pulled back.. panting heavily...he slowly looked up only to see Jungkook gazing down at him...

' I love you'

Taehyung stilled...his eyes wide ' What?'

' You don't have to say it back...until you are ready...' Jungkook cupped his cheeks ' I will always be here....beside you...I know we are still kids...but I promise you my Inara... No matter what all change between us..even if there comes a time we drift apart or becomw the biggest of rivals like how Yoongi hyung teased us...I will still be there...next to you...just a call away'

Taehyung couldn't take anymore...he was already overwhelmed with everything Jungkook was doing since the moment they set foot in this field and now this... So he did what he felt right in the moment and that was to join their lips again... taking Jungkook off guard for a second before he reciprocated it....

And under the golden rays of the setting sun Jeon Jungkook confessed his undying love to his one and only Inara...but what they didn't know was that every single word that Jungkook just said was going to come true...that they will be becoming the greatest of rivals..yet will be with each other... just a call away'
