Prologue
Cassidy: Ladies, Gentlemen, and everything in between welcome to the jade python theatre! My name's Cassidy and I will be your narrator this fine evening!
Issac: No fair Cass! I was supposed to narrate this time!
Cassidy: Well its first come first serve Issac, and it seems as if I have come first. Now please exit the stage so I can perform!
Issac: I'll tell Gabriella if you don't let me narrate this time!
Cassidy: Fine! We can narrate together, this way they'll get both sides of the story.
Issac: Fine!
Cassidy: Alright sorry for the interruption, the show will begin now! The story this evening is one of forbidden love! Everyone listen closely as I tell you a tale of the glorious kingdom of Glacia and the corrupt kingdom of Evadonia.
Issac: Wait! You're telling it wrong, Evadonia wasn't the corrupt one, it was Glacia who were truly wicked!
Cassidy: Now now, Issac everyone knows Evadonia is full of the bad people in the world. I mean look at how the humans portray your kingdom! A fiery pit of torture that all of the worst people are sent to! How can you not agree that they are evil?
Issac: Oh so you're basically saying that all human portrayals are true? What about how they portray Glacia, I mean you can't gloss over the fact that they see your ruler as a man can you? Or the fact that all of you are perfect and kind! You can't just go off of one and not the other Cass.
Cassidy: Well at least they got it partially correct, we've got the halos and the wings, now look at what you've got! That's right horns and a tail, they we're pretty spot on! And let me just say that everyone in Glacia IS perfect and kind!
Issac: Oh really?
Cassidy: Yes really!
Issac: Well what about him? I'm pretty sure that if we actually started the story you would see he was far from your people's perfect standard. Heck, he only had one wing!
Cassidy: We do not include him into that category.
Issac: You can't just exclude him from everything, he's too important!
Cassidy: He was insane there's a difference! He cut off his own wing, that basically proves he wasn't sane! The only reason the Queen didn't throw him out in the first place was because of Roman's need to keep him around.
Gabriella: Get on with the story you two or else!
Both: Y-Yes ma'am!!
Cassidy: Sorry again dear listeners, Let's begin shall we? Our story begins with two children in a box. The children were obviously angels as shown by the tiny gold hoops above their heads and the mini wings on their backs. They were set outside an orphanage by their own mother who couldn't care for them. Their names where Roman and-
Issac: You're starting the story with them? There is a much better starting point!
Cassidy: Oh really? Knowing you, you'd probably start it at the marriage of King Nathaniel and Queen Dalila or something ancient like that.
Issac: Actually yeah, that seems like the best place to start.
Cassidy: What! Why?
Issac: The treaty Cassidy. Have you not been paying attention in school?
Cassidy: Ugh, fine. Start it wherever you want as long as it leads up to Roman.
Issac: Oh please, you think you could tell the story without mentioning him? It's not possible. So anyway, a really long time ago King Nathaniel and Queen Dalila got married which led to a huge dispute between Evadonia and Glacia over citizens crossing into the other kingdom. So king Nathaniel and (the Queen of Glacia) Queen Arina signed a treaty to put up somewhat of a barrier between the lands. Though the barrier was very obvious and scary looking, it did absolutely nothing. It was simply put there as a warning to whomever dared to cross it, "Cross the barrier and you'll be punished." Whether the punishment was death or imprisonment all depended on whose side you crossed.
Cassidy: Issac this is boring! Let's get to the part where-
Issac: Shh! No spoilers! Anyway, its important to build some sort of knowledge for the listeners so they can understand what is going on.
Cassidy: Yeah, but like when will we get to the action and romance? This explanation stuff is boring!
Issac: We're getting there, now it's time to introduce two important characters.
Cassidy: Roman!?
Issac: No, Prince Patton and Prince Virgil.
Cassidy: I call introducing Prince Patton!! So Prince Patton is the son of Queen Arina and is next in line for Glacia's throne. However, most don't think he could rule like his mother, due to the fact that he is a total pushover. Like, a major door mat.
Issac: Wow Cass, didn't think you'd talk so lowly about your future king.
Cassidy: Don't get me wrong, he's a good guy, it's just that I think he needs to be more assertive. I'm not sure people will listen or take him seriously.
Issac: That kind of makes sense. Anyway, Prince Virgil on the other hand is the next in line for Evadonia's throne. Prince Virgil really takes after his mother Queen Dalila by being fair to everyone, no matter the background. He will speak his mind when absolutely needed but other than that he's too anxious to really take control. That is partially why his parents decided that on his sixteenth birthday he was to be wed.
Cassidy: Ew, imagine marrying someone you've never met. They could have a creepy murder basement, or like a jar of toenails, something disturbing like that. I could never.
Issac: It's not as if he had a say in the matter, it was his parents decision.
Gabriella: Please stop getting off track, look at what you did!
Both: What did we do?
Gabriella: Everyone's left! You we're taking too long to tell the story. Both of you my office, now!
Gabriella: I'm sorry dear readers for the bickering between these two. Next time won't be like this, it was only for the prologue. Next chapter will be what you came to read originally.
Cassidy: Who are you talking to?
Gabriella: No one! Hey, I thought I told you to head to my office?
Cassidy: Eek!
Welcome to the end of the prologue for my new book! I hope this was semi-entertaining and helped you understand the world a bit. Next chapter will be formated like a normal story, this was just for the prologue
(If there are any grammar mistakes please notify me so I can fix it for future readers)
(I'll try to update at least once a week if I can. )
