That night, as Rosalia settled onto the couch beside Jimin, the atmosphere was filled with a cozy intimacy. The soft glow from the lamp illuminated the room, casting a warm light that accentuated the serenity of their surroundings. Jimin, wrapped in a comfortable blanket, winced slightly as he adjusted himself on the couch, his injuries still a reminder of the recent chaos.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” Rosalia asked, her brow furrowed with concern. She leaned closer, her fingers gently probing the bandages on his side. “I just want to make sure you’re healing properly.”
Jimin chuckled, the sound warm and rich, as he looked at her. “I promise, I’m fine. The doctors said I’d be back to normal in no time.”
“But what if you’re not?” Rosalia pressed, biting her lip. “What if you need more rest? Or what if something went wrong during the mission?”
Jimin laughed, a sound that echoed through the room, bringing a lightness to the air. “You’re really overreacting. Look, I can move just fine.” He demonstrated, stretching his arms above his head and flexing his muscles playfully. “See? No problems here.”
Rosalia rolled her eyes, but the smile on her lips betrayed her amusement. “You know I just care about you, right?”
“Of course, but I think you’re more interested in seeing my abs,” he teased, winking at her.
She flushed, caught off guard by his playful banter. “What? No! I’m just being a concerned girlfriend,” she insisted, crossing her arms defensively.
“Sure you are,” he replied with a smirk, leaning back against the cushions. “You just want to see if I still have that six-pack hiding under here.”
With a laugh, Rosalia shook her head. “Okay, maybe I’m a little curious.” She paused, her expression turning mock-serious. “But I’m not the one who got injured while on a mission, remember?”
Jimin grinned, a sparkle in his eyes as he sensed her playful challenge. “Alright, then. If you want to see them, you’ll have to earn it.”
Rosalia raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “Earn it? How?”
He leaned forward, lowering his voice conspiratorially. “You have to make me your famous pasta dish first.”
“Is that a deal?” she asked, feigning indifference, though her heart raced at the thought of cooking for him.
“Absolutely. But don’t think I’ll just give you a glimpse. You’ll have to work for it.” He chuckled, enjoying the playful banter.
“You’re insufferable,” she said, laughter bubbling up in her throat. But she couldn’t help but smile at the thought of spending time with him in the kitchen, the two of them creating something delicious together.
As the teasing continued, Rosalia found herself more relaxed, the worry that had shadowed her since his return slowly lifting. She loved seeing this side of Jimin—the playful, flirtatious man who could make her forget the heaviness of the world around them.
“Seriously though,” she said after a moment, her tone turning softer. “I just want you to be okay. You’ve been through so much.”
Jimin’s expression softened at her concern. “I appreciate it, really. But I promise I’m healing. And besides,” he added, “with you here taking care of me, how could I not?”
Feeling a surge of warmth, Rosalia leaned in closer, her hand finding his. “Just promise me you’ll always be careful. I can’t imagine my life without you now.”
“Trust me,” he said, squeezing her hand gently. “I won’t take unnecessary risks again. Not if it means I’ll end up worrying you.”
As they shared a quiet moment, Jimin glanced down at her hand in his, a soft smile playing on his lips. “But I can’t deny that your concern makes me feel pretty special.”
“And you should feel special,” she replied, meeting his gaze. “You’re amazing, Jimin. You’ve done so much for me already.”
“Just wait until you see what I can do once I’m fully healed,” he said with a cheeky grin, his playful nature returning.
“Is that a promise?” Rosalia asked, unable to suppress her laughter.
“Definitely. But for now, let’s stick to cuddling,” he said, patting the space beside him.
“Cuddling it is,” Rosalia replied, settling in against him. The warmth of his body felt comforting, and as she nestled into his side, she felt safe and cherished.
As they sat together, the air filled with light banter and the promise of love, Rosalia couldn’t help but steal a glance at his side. Though the bandages were a reminder of the danger he faced, the underlying strength he possessed gave her hope.
“Hey, Jimin?” she asked softly, breaking the comfortable silence.
“Yeah?” he responded, looking down at her with an expectant smile.
“Do you think we can get through anything together?”
“Absolutely,” he replied without hesitation. “No matter what comes our way, we’ll face it together. You and me, Rosalia.”
And in that moment, as she looked into his eyes, she realized how deeply she loved him. He had become her anchor, her safe haven, and she knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, they would conquer them hand in hand.
