Chapter 11
Many star cycles later, Urainia heard a lot of commotion outside. Looking out the window of her obelisk, she saw a large, scaly monster being attacked by around 20 shadow creatures.
Urainia couldn't bear to see any living creature in pain, and this creature seemed to be badly hurt, judging from its blood splattering all about.
Urainia rushed out of the obelisk before Astera or any other star spirit could speak with her.
Imagine the shock that Umbrum had when he saw a purple, sparkling figure step into the battle.
"Urainia! Urainia, get out of there!"
Manx, standing by his side, said, "She can't hear you. If she wants to get killed, let her."
Umbrum glared at Manx. "For one, she can't die. Two, what the fuck is her problem with her? If you're jealous of the time I spend with her, I might start considering that Uther takes your place."
"I'm not jealous, I just don't see why you put up with the naive girl."
Umbrum banged his staff on the ground, showing he was at the end of his patience. "Well, Manx, it turns out that the "girl" might just be the smartest and most creative person in this lonely existence."
Ignoring the warnings and insults from the shadows, Urainia used her magic to calm the beast down, a periwinkle glow surrounding her.
It worked, and the beast turned around, walking into the vast darkness. The shadow creatures were stunned at this show of courage and power. A couple of them even bowed to her to show their respect and gratitude.
Umbrum appeared, very impressed.
"Thanks for getting rid of the drake. That's the greatest thing I've seen you do."
Urainia was a bit overwhelmed by all this praise. "You're welcome. I just...didn't expect this reaction."
"You should've. I hope that Manx sees why I'm friends with you after this."
Urainia smiled, touched by his words.
