Flashback:
'I wish you'll feel the pain you've caused me.'
'Grow up, Kyra. You aren't a little princess anymore.'
'You don't give a fuck about anyone, but yourself.'
'A bloody selfish woman.'
'You love for me was just a game.'
'You played me like an object.'
'Remember everything that has happened is your fault.'
'I wish karma will break you the same way you broke me with your lies.'
Ahaan had said to Kyra without even thinking about the consequences, and now, she felt the pain in the most cruel way possible, which has broken her.
"I am broken." Kyra whispered, looking at herself in the mirror.
And the tears still didn't stop flowing out of her eyes.
Dhruv had made Kyra reach back their home safely, but no matter how hard he tried, Kyra didn't stop crying.
"Kyru, it's been an hour since you've been inside. Come out, baccha." Dhruv voiced out knocking on the bathroom's door.
"Dhruv?" Kyra's soft voice was heard from inside.
"Yes, princess? Do you need something?" He asked back gently, still standing outside the bathroom door.
"Am I a selfish person?" She asked in a whisper, but Dhruv had heard it clearly, his jaw now clenched.
"Kyra, you're the most selfless and generous person I've met. And what have I taught you since childhood? Never let anyone influence or affect you with their words, right? Come out, princess." He said, in a soft tone which he would always use for his little sister.
"Dhruv, was everything my fault?" She again questioned, ignoring his pleading to come out.
"Not at all, Kyra. Nothing was your fault. How can you be at fault when you did everything to save yourself?" He replied, not understanding the meaning behind her words as he didn't know what all Ahaan had said to the innocent soul.
"But you know, he said everything that has happened is my fault. I caused everything. I think he's right. I was the one who caused everything, resulting in this." She said with a sarcastic smile.
"Kyra. You will not think about him anymore. Come out this instant." This time, Dhruv's voice was comparatively firm.
And this time, Kyra didn't ignore him.
The bathroom door clicked open, revealing a disheveled Kyra. Dressed in a plain, loose t-shirt and a pair of shorts, her face was swollen with continuous crying, and there were still dried tears on her cheeks with red eyes.
"Bhai." She whispered, her eyes glistening and Dhruv's heart clenched at every pain of his sister's.
Kyra, who had always been someone with a jolly nature, without any worries of the world, always with a big smile on her face for everyone was now a girl with broken heart, someone who had gone through a haunting incident at such an young age, someone whose tears were not stopping at any cost. And Dhruv couldn't see this.
His sister, who had this biggest smile on her face till yesterday now, had her eyes full of tears.
"Kyra, don't. Not a single tear for those sick people." Dhruv warned, pulling her into his embrace.
He made her sit on her bed in such a way that her back was in the direction of his front.
"I'll do your dressing for now. But tomorrow, I am taking you to the doctor for a checkup." He mumbled, opening the first aid kit that he had kept beside him.
"I don't want to go to the doctor." She whispered stubbornly.
"Kyra, it's important. The wound is deep." Dhruv said softly.
"Okay." She whispered, glancing at him from sideways whose eyes were fixated on her with nothing but worry.
"Is it painful?" He asked her gently when he was busy cleaning the spot.
She shook her head slightly in response, and Dhruv sighed.
Kyra was someone who would cry if there's even a single scratch on her body. This was the level of her dramatics. But now, even such a deep wound wasn't affecting her. And it was only because the level of pain she'd gone through some hours ago had made her go numb.
"Dhruv." She whispered lightly when he was busy braiding her hair, sitting just behind her petite frame.
"Where's Sarah?" She questioned, remembering her friend who was staying with her these days.
"S-she must be sleeping in the guest room." Was Dhruv's hesitant reply as he couldn't tell her the truth.
"Dhruv?" She again whispered, and he hummed in response, still continuing to braid her disheveled hair.
"I love you, bhai." She said, barely audible, but he heard it very well.
"I love you too, princess." He replied for the first time.
Kyra would always say 'I love you', but Dhruv would never reply as he wanted to portray himself as an arrogant brother.
"Where do you want to go for the trip?" He questioned, as he knew very well that Kyra's thought must be stuck on the haunting happenings.
"You know I had already planned that I would go to Paris. I wanted to see the Eiffel Tower. " She said, with a small smile on her face as she had suddenly forgotten.
"Paris? But you're my sister and what -" Dhruv started when she butted in.
"Not with you, Dhruv. I wanted to go with my boyfriend, which is Aha-" As soon as she realized what she was about to say, she stopped and now back to her silent mode.
"I don't have a boyfriend now." She whispered with a small smile.
"So what? I'll take you to Paris. We don't even look like siblings, so it'll be beneficial for us." Dhruv said.
After a long time, a small giggle escaped her lips.
"Don't worry. You were at the top most position on my bucket list. I have already planned the best place for us to go." She said, turning so as to she was now finally facing him.
"What is it?" He asked, smiling a little to his little sister.
"Switzerland." She replied.
"Switzerland? That is like one of the most expensive places to visit." Dhruv said, acting horrified.
"That's why I chose this for you. You are going to pay and it'll empty your pockets." She giggled.
"I guess I don't have any other option, but to accept." Dhruv said, scratching the back of his head, and Kyra nodded her head excitedly.
"Of course you don't." She giggled, and Dhruv released a deep breath of relief.
For him, nothing is better than seeing the smile on the face of his sister. Someone whose giggles always lifts his mood no matter how bad of a day it had been. She's someone for whom he can do anything if it results in her happiness.

"Kyra, sleep." He said to the 17 year old who was busy gazing at the stars outside the window.
"I-I can't." She hesitated.
And Dhruv understood very well what it was about.
His sister was scared this time.
"But I'll sleep with you." He said, looking at her softly.
"You will?" She asked, slightly shocked, and he nodded his head in a yes.
"Promise you won't leave me?" She asked in a whisper when he was tucking her inside the covers.
"Promise." He replied, his voice firm as ever.
"Hold my hand?" She asked, barely audible, and Dhruv smiled.
Whenever they would sleep together in their childhood, Kyra would have this habit of holding Dhruv's hand and earlier he used to get annoyed about the same, but still wouldn't deny to do it as his little sister would request this so adorably. And this time, it was after so long that she'd requested that Dhruv couldn't find himself getting annoyed. Instead, he was happy that his sister was safe.
He knew everything related to her. What she likes to eat or how she likes her hair to be made as he would be the one doing it for her since the beginning. He loved to spend time with her, and as she says, Dhruv had always been her babysitter.
He held her small hand in his, and Kyra clutched onto him in a way as if she was scared that he would leave her.
Leave her in a way someone close to her had did moments ago when she needed him the most.
Because the only men that mattered to her honestly were her Dad, her brother, and him. And now that he'd decided to break her, Kyra wasn't alone. She had her brother with her at every step without even knowing.

"Slowly princess." Dhruv muttered, patting his sister's back.
"In."
"Out."
"In."
"Out."
He mumbled, and Kyra followed at every step.
Listening to Kyra shouting and whimpering in her sleep wasn't something Dhruv had expected. But he knew how fragile the heart of his sister is. So innocent and pure.
"Water." He muttered, forwarding a glass of water in front of her mouth.
As she slowly released her hands which were clutching onto Dhruv's, he shook her head placing the glass in front of her lips to make her drink the water himself and Kyra relaxed, gripping onto her brother as if her life depended of it.
"My head is paining." She mumbled, placing her head on his chest, and he patted her head in response.
His hands made their way to her forehead, and he started massaging it with the utmost care so as to he doesn't hurt her or her pain gets subsided as well.
"Everything pains, Dhruv. Everything. especially my heart." She mumbled, her eyes closed, and Dhruv clenched his jaw.
"What did he do, Kyra?" Dhruv asked, directing towards Ahaan.
"He didn't believe me. Twice." She replied, holding out her two fingers.
"But princess -" He started but was cut off by her.
"I want Sarah." She mumbled, and Dhruv furrowed his eyebrows.
The truth was Kyra needed her mother's presence. Someone who would care like a mother was something Kyra craved right now, and she just couldn't go to her Mom in this state. So, the only option left was her best friend, Sarah.
"But Kyra-" he started but was cut off by her again.
"Please." She whispered, and he sighed.
"Let me check where she is." He said to Kyra.
"I am coming with you." She said immediately, and Dhruv nodded his head.
He knew it was because she didn't want to be alone. Somewhere, she doesn't have someone with her. To feel her protected and safe.
As she stood up walking beside him, Dhruv noticed her limping very well. Her bruises had made it very clear how much torture she had to go through, but not once she complained about those things.
The only thing she kept saying was that she was feeling pain. And that pain wasn't in any part of her body. It was only her heart. Her heart that was destroyed by him.
He swiftly picked his sister in his arms, and Kyra released a breath of relief. Of comfort she gets when he wraps his arms around her. The homely feeling she gets because Dhruv had always been the one for her since her childhood who would take care of her in every way possible.
Dhruv who had been the one to witness the first time she got hurt when he was trying to teach her ride a bicycle and even then, Kyra just hugged him tightly not caring about the fact that her parents aren't there to do such things. It was only her brother and has always been.
"She's here." He whispered to Kyra, who nodded her head, standing outside the guest bedroom.
"I'll go inside. You can go continue your sleep as I disturbed you na." She said softly, and Dhruv nodded his head.
As she was about to enter the room, a hand stopped her in between.
"Kyra, don't think about it. I'll take care of everything and you won't even have to worry about it anymore. And one more thing, you will be sleeping in my room from now on. Beside me." He ended with a stern look.
"Okay." She whispered with a small smile directed towards him who smiled back.
She entered the guest bedroom where her best friend was busy sleeping. But what she doesn't know is that she is herself dealing with the same problems. It's always the heart that causes everything.
"Sarah." She said, patting her hand.
"Kyra, let me sleep bitch. I had such a tiring night." Sarah huffed, making Kyra giggle.
"Wake up, Sarah." She again patted, and Sarah pouted.
"Why don't you go disturb your brother? You'll be the happiest and it'll make me happy as well this time." She mumbled the last part to herself.
Kyra had this faint smile on her face without even realizing it.
"Please." She whispered, and this time Sarah opened her eyes, groggily rubbing them.
"What?" She questioned, groaning as her sleep got disturbed.
"A hug?" Kyra asked adorably.
"Anytime." Sarah said, this time excited as ever and engulfed her into a tight yet comforting hug.
"Am I selfish?" Kyra questioned in a whisper.
"Are you insane? You're such a selfless person, and here you're talking about being selfish." Sarah gave an honest answer as ever without even knowing what Kyra actually meant.
But unknowingly, Sarah's answer had made Kyra relax.
"Do I behave like a little princess always?" She again questioned.
"No, Kyra. You're one of the strongest women out there. Not like those annoying bitches out there crying for nothing." Sarah replied, and she let out a small giggle again.
"But I still cried." She frowned.
"Crying isn't wrong, Kyra. The reason for crying is different for every person, and you aren't someone who makes a fuss about every matter. And I am saying this because I've known you since childhood." Sarah replied, smiling a little.
What she didn't know was the reason why Kyra was asking these questions. But still, whatever she said made a big impact on Kyra.
"Can you hate a person all of a sudden whom you loved unconditionally?" She asked, her lips quivering.
"No." Sarah replied, and Kyra's heart clenched.
Does she really hate him who had abandoned her leading to everything?
"Even if he's the reason you're broken?" She questioned with a heavy heart.
"Not if you've loved him with everything inside of you. Without a doubt." Sarah replied with a known smile.
'That I did.' She couldn't help but to think of.
"And what if he asks for forgiveness?" Kyra questioned, somewhere thinking that there might be a day when Ahaan would realize his mistake and get back to her.
"If you think you can forgive him, then you will. If that's what makes you happy, then you will. Because in the end, what matters is our happiness." Sarah ended with a longing smile.
"What was my mistake, Sarah?" She questioned, and this time, pain wasn't evident in her tone. It was desperation.
"Mistake about what Kyra?" Sarah questioned back.
"Mistake, due to which he had to leave me alone. Abandoned. Which led to nothing but pain." Kyra whispered.
"And you know what? I warned him. I pleaded with him. But he wouldn't budge. And for what reason? I still don't know." She continued with a small smile.
"Did A-Ahaan do something, Kyra?" Sarah questioned hesitantly.
"He did. And you know what, despite not knowing my mistake, I know his. His mistake was that he didn't believe me. Twice." She ended holding up her two fingers.
"First, he didn't believe my honesty and trust for our relationship. And even when I tried to give him a chance asking just for a small help, he didn't. Instead, he lashed out on me that I am a selfish woman and I should stop behaving like a little princess." She said, her voice firm as ever.
"He didn't come when I needed him the most. He didn't show the trust Sarah. He didn't." Kyra continued.
"And this is all because of his anger." She whispered the last part to herself.
"There must be some misunderstanding, Kyra. I know how much Ahaan loves you, and he would never do anything intentionally to hurt you." Sarah said, with a soft smile.
"Do you know what he did?" Kyra asked back, and she shook her head in response.
"I guess that's a story for another time." She mumbled, and Sarah shook her head at her best friend.
"Can you do me a favor?" She asked Sarah.
"Of course." Was her instant reply.
"Just write whatever I am about to say on this paper." She said, holding out a diary and pen from the nightstand beside her.
"If that's what you want." Sarah shrugged, taking the diary from her.
"Today, you have broken me. It was so frightening and painful what I had to go through. And yes, it's all because of you. It has made me say the things I never wanted to say. Do answer me, was there a smile or a look of regret when I called you crying, begging to save myself? Was there any guilt that you left me alone , or were you satisfied with what all you did? But remember, one day you'll feel the emptiness. The loneliness which I did sometime ago. There must be a reason for everything. Reason why you said those things. Reason for what I did and maybe a reason for the pain. And you know what, there's a big problem. I say that I hate you, but I am not sure whether I do or not. Because our memories weren't something that could be forgotten. They were something I cherished, and maybe I'll keep cherishing forever." Kyra finished with a soft smile, and Sarah gulped as what all Kyra said definitely had a big meaning behind it.
"H-here." Sarah said, forwarding the torn piece of paper.
Kyra quickly took the paper from Sarah's hands and ran to the direction of bathroom. Sarah followed her best friend, still confused, and what Kyra did made her even frown more.
Kyra crumbled the paper in her hands and threw it inside the toilet. Flushing down it, not slightly thinking about the tightened feeling in her chest, she turned again, making her way back to the bedroom.
And all Sarah did was watching her best friend with mouth slightly dropped open.
What Kyra did was only because she needed a closure. She knew there won't be a chance she would meet Ahaan after what happened today, but what she needed was the thoughts that were revolving in her mind to be spoken. This is a way she did and even decided to erase every memory of her about this day and his words towards her.
Flashback ends.
