Cʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ 40 | Tʜᴇ Bʏɢᴏɴᴇ

Flashback continues:

"You bitch! You really thought you would be able to run away from us. Just wait for what all we're going to do with you." I heard a voice making my eyes go wide.

"I am sorry. Please let me go." I pleaded in a low voice.

All my energy was drained. It wasn't because of the events that took place moments ago. It was because of Ahaan's word for me. His actions which has lead to this.

"Shut up!" He yelled, and the other one stuffed a cloth in my mouth, making me gag.

All my whimpers and protest came out muffled, and he lifted me up by my elbow, with a tight grip making me scream in agony. It still didn't come out due to the cloth.

He held my hands with his rough and strong hands that scraped my writs, causing me to feel the pain.

My struggles went in vain as both of them used immense force to keep me intact in the place. I knew this would leave marks, but all that I cared about this moment was saving myself anyhow.

They'd by now took me back to the same old building they'd bought me earlier, and I took deep breaths in order to calm my nerves.

The bulkier man yanked me by my arm to a new room, and my eyes widened as I saw my surroundings.

The place looked nothing but spooky. The smell disgusted me to no extent, and there was an eerie silence. The only sound was of the crickets. The only thing that was present in the room was dirt.

He pushed me further into the room, making me fall in the process.

I then heard laughter.

My eyes frantically searched for the source as I knew it was female's.

And then my gaze finally landed on the source of laughter. On one side of the room was a cell. Almost 6-7 females who probably looked older than me were present. There wasn't a look of sympathy on their face. It was a smug smile. In a mocking way.

"Another one." One of them said, and the others laughed in response.

My heart was beating loudly in fear.

What did they mean by this?

"Stay right here, bitch. If I find it that you've tried to escape again, you won't like the consequences or the things I can do to you." One of the men said with a menacing glare, and I nodded my head immediately.

I was scared at this point.

I had no idea what all they could do to me.

Both of them left the room, leaving me with the females that were locked up beside in a cell.

"Ladies! Just look at the new target." One of them shouted, and everyone else smirked.

"Oh, I bet they aren't going to leave her anytime soon. Or before they don't destroy her." Another spoke, and everyone else laughed.

"Aren't you one of those girls who has wrapped up everyone around her little finger? Gets what she wants and now look, has come in the hold of people like them." One said, making my lips quiver.

What is my fault again?

"Please don't." I pleaded because I don't know why, but hearing them made Ahaan's words replay in my mind.

'I wish you'll feel the pain you've caused me.' Ahaan had said, and now I know I am going to experience the same.

"Your drama won't work here with us bitch. Keep wondering what all they are going to do with you. You're surely their type, with the perfect body and beautiful face." One said, and I gulped as realization hit me hard.

They will destroy my soul with their dirty deeds.

"Why don't you show us what all you have?" One of them smirked, making my eyes go wide.

"No!" I shouted instantly, and I realized what they were indicating onto.

"You don't have an option, little girl." Saying this, she slided in my room from the gaps in between the cell.

My eyes widened in shock as I couldn't believe what they just did. She wasn't the only one who passed the cell. Following her were the rest of females who had a victorious smirk plastered on their face.

"Don't come near me." I said in terror as all of them started making their way towards me.

In return, they only laughed mockingly and continued walking in my direction.

"Hold her." One said to the two females who were standing in the corner.

They gave me a smug smile and came in the direction. My lips were quivering in fear, and my heart felt as if it was going to come out of my chest.

"No!" I shouted, but they paid no heed.

The two of them held my arms and legs, securing in their grip tightly, and the one who'd told them to do so looked pleased.

"Please leave me. I didn't do anything to you." I cried thrashing in their grip, but all went in vain.

They were way stronger than my futile attempts.

The one which I assumed to be the leader came forward and bent down on my level. I was looking at her with pleading eyes. My eyes glistened with tears.

And then a hard slap landed on my face, making me hiss in immense pain. It burned so bad.

They only laughed seeing my condition.

This time, another landed on my other cheek, and I screamed in response. They were showing no mercy. When it's not even my fault anywhere.

I struggled in their arms, trying to free myself, but they tightened the hold. Their nails were digging on my arms and legs, and I could feel the blood oozing out.

"Get ready for the real fun." She smirked, and I gulped.

And the very next moment, all of them came forward and not wasting any other second. They started to punch me, kick me, slap me as if I was a rag doll, something for them to take out all their frustration.

My body was experiencing unbearable pain. How could my 17 year old self bear their torture?

I was screaming continuously at the pain I felt on each hit.

The two men soon appeared, maybe hearing my screams. I looked at them pleadingly, and their eyes found mine. I thought they were going to stop the other females, but I was wrong.

They smirked in response.

"You deserve this." He shouted, and I lowered my gaze, crying silently.

Everyone keeps saying the same thing.

I think I do deserve this.

They kept punching, kicking, slapping me as if I were their toy. At this point, I think I was.

"Stop!" One of the men screamed, and the ladies stopped instantly.

"Get back to your cells, my pets." Another one said, and the females obliged getting back to the cell the same way they'd come here, this time their heads bowed down in a respectful manner.

My tears were unstoppable. My body felt as if it was broken. The pain had made me go numb.

"Our turn now." One of them smirked, getting closer to me.

"Please." I don't know why I pleaded because I knew they weren't stopping this time. My naive self had realized this.

He let out a mocking laugh and got closer, bending down on my level.

His fingers lifted up my chin, and he made me look at him. His beard seemed as if he hadn't cut it for years. His yellow teeth were raking the smell of alcohol and the malice on his eyes disgusting. All of this had made me shiver in terror.

Another one came and got behind me. His hand gripped my hair, and he yanked it forcefully, making me scream in pain.

His fist collided with my jaw it felt as if my bone had cracked. This time, no scream left my mouth. Because all that I felt inside of me was numbness.

"Don't, please." I pleaded, barely audible.

The man who was behind me made me tilted my head in a way I was looking at him. He had a creepy smile on his face, making goosebumps of fear rise on my skin.

Suddenly, I heard tearing of clothes and realization hit me that he'd torn the dress from behind I was wearing for the farewell.

I could feel chills running down my spine.

The two laughed, seeing my vulnerable condition.

At this moment, I knew either I could save myself or surrender to them, and I decided.

Gaining as much energy as I could, I kicked the man in the face who was standing in front of me, and he stumbled down in response with a loud curse. Without wasting for any other second, I elbowed the one who was behind me, and he hissed in response.

I quickly got up from the floor, and my eyes frantically searched for any weapon I could find at the moment. Finally, my eyes landed on an iron rod that was laid in the corner.

I immediately took the same, and by now, the man I'd elbowed stood up, clutching his stomach while looking at me with a murderous glare.

I gulped but didn't lose up my grip on the rod.

As he started making his way towards me, I didn't let him complete as I swinged the rod without any aim.

And it worked as it directly hit him on his head, and he screamed loudly in response, clutching his head, which now had blood oozing out of it.

He fell down on the ground with a thud, and I sighed in relief. His eyes were still open, but I knew the hit was enough to refrain him from hurting me.

'I could run now. Away from them.' I thought, but I was wrong.

An ear piercing scream left my mouth as I felt something being teared again from the back. And this time, it was my skin. With my mouth dropped open in pain and horror, I turned, and there standing was the other man with a knife in his hand. My hand itself made its way to my back, and I felt something liquid.

My mouth couldn't process any words.

My hand was covered in my own blood. I didn't feel pain. It felt as if my body had gone numb.

"You dirty little bitch! You thought you'll get away by your hittings?" He sneered at me.

I didn't respond. With the minimal energy that was left in me, the only thing I did was hitting him with the rod in the same way I did with the other man. It hit him straight at his head, and he too screamed loudly, clutching his head. I could see the traces on blood on his hands, but I had no guilt. His eye didn't leave mine the whole time he fell on the ground. It still had disgust and malice.

He sneered as I lifted the rod again. But this time, I threw it away, just beside them.

Without looking thinking about the consequences of anything, I ran my way out of the room they'd kept me in and went towards the direction of the gate to get out. I certainly remembered the way, and without wasting any time, I got out of the building. For the second time on the same day. This time, I had made sure to lock it from outside, and I even placed a dumpster in front of it to make it hard for them to get out.

Taking a last look at the building, I turned on my heels, and this time, I ran in the opposite direction of the one I had run the last time.

My legs were killing me. They were numb, yet I didn't stop. My hands were red due to my blood. My back was paining at no extent, but I didn't stop. And specially, I felt like I would faint any momemt. I could feel my head spinning but I never stopped.

I kept running for what felt like forever. Not for once, I looked back. Because I knew either I could save myself right now or regret everything my whole life.

I was now standing in the middle of a deserted road. There was an eerie silence. No cars or any human was seen. I was all alone.

A screeching of tires after several moments made me snap my head in the same direction.

It was a car who was at a couple of feet distance from me. I didn't even realize when it arrived. A lady came out of the car, and she looked at me with a glare.

"What are you doing in the middle of the road at this time? What if the car had hit you?" She asked, and I didn't respond.

"Can't you speak?" This time, her voice was raised.

"Can you please give me your phone?" I asked in a low voice.

She looked at me questioningly. As if she's trying to process whether she should or not.

"Please." I whispered, and she sighed, handing out her phone.

I quickly took it from her and dialed the only person who I knew could save me.

The person picked up on the second ring itself, and I smiled knowingly.

"Dhruv." I whispered.

"Kyra?" He questioned back with confusion.

"Yeah, it's me. Dhruv, please save me. Please come here, Dhruv." I let out a choked sob.

"Kyra relax. I can't understand a thing. Just tell me the place you're at currently." He pacified me.

"I don't know. It's somewhere near the highway of our school. Please come soon, Dhruv." I pleaded with a heavy heart.

"I am coming right now, Kyru. Don't worry, your brother won't let anything happen to you." He said, and a whimper escaped my lip.

He should've been the one who I should've called the first time.

"Please try to come fast, Dhruv. I am so scared. They can do anything if they find me again." I whispered.

"Kyru relax. Take deep breaths, princess. You know I won't let anything happen to you, right? I want my annoying sister with me forever." He said, and I couldn't help but let out a smile in response.

"Where is he Kyra?" He asked after some time, and I knew where he was aiming at.

"He left me. Alone." I whispered, and I heard him curse.

"He will fucking regret it." He said in a hard voice, and I didn't respond.

"How long will it take you, Dhruv? They might come here and take me back again." I cried as my limbs were aching badly, and my head felt as if it's going to burst with the immense pain.

"I am already on my way, Kyru. Now tell me, what do you want as a birthday gift this time? I'll make sure to arrange it for you even if it's a meet with your celebrity crush. And this time I'll even take you for an international trip with just the two of us like I promised you." He said softly.

"Promise?" I asked, tears flowing out of my eyes.

"I promise." He said sincerely.

My response was a sob that finally escaped my lips. I couldn't control further. If only I'd called him, he wouldn't have let anything happen to me.

"Kyra, deep breaths, right?" His voice broke my trance.

"Deep breaths." I mumbled in response, trying to control my breathing.

"In."

"Out."

"In."

"Out."

I followed him at every step, tears still flowing out of my eyes, uncontrollably.

"Princesses never cries, right? Then why are you?" He asked gently.

"Dhruv, he left me. He said he hates me. He said I'll feel the pain, and you know what, I am feeling it. I am feeling the pain to no extent." I replied, my lips quivering continuously.

"Don't think about it, princess." He whispered, and I smiled.

"You want to know a secret?" He asked all of a sudden.

"Yes." I immediately whispered.

"I love Sarah. Your best friend." He replied, and I smiled.

"I knew it." I muttered, and he chuckled at my response.

"I can't wait anymore Dhruv." I continued, crying.

"I am about to reach Kyru. Don't panic, princess. I'll make everyone pay for what all they did to you." He replied in a comforting tone.

"They hit me so badly, bhai. Everything is paining." I said after some time, looking at my bruised hands and legs.

"Kyru, don't baccha. I am almost there." He said pleadingly, making me smile.

I knew he would save me anytime.

"Kyra!" I heard someone shout after some time, and my eyes widened.

It felt as if he was near me. The sound was more than that of a phone call.

"Princess." A tap on my shoulder made me snap my head back.

There he was, standing looking at me with nothing but worry in his eyes.

"Dhruv!" I shouted and lunged towards his direction.

He immediately wrapped his arms around me, lifting me from the ground. I buried my face in his chest to feel the comfort, and he patted my back. My body was racking with uncontrollable sobs, and he tightened his hold on me in a comforting manner.

The lady had by now went away from us, taking her phone which had fallen down from my hands in between.

By now, he had led us to his car, and he made me sit on the bonnet. I didn't leave his embrace yet. It was the only thing that comforted me.

"You're okay, princess. You're safe. I would've never let anything happen to my sister." He mumbled, wiping my tears.

"I feel numb. They hit me like anything, but I fought back. Twice." I said, holding up my two fingers, my lips quivering.

"Kyra, don't. I'll make their life a living hell. They will regret causing pain to my sister." He said, looking at me softly.

"Who was it, Kyra?" He questioned next.

"I don't know." I replied in a low voice.

"He did all this?" He questioned again.

"They." I corrected, and he clenched his jaw.

"They will have to fucking pay for this." He shouted, and I clutched my arms tightly around him.

My breathing was ragged.

"Deep breaths, princess. In. Out. In. Out." He said, and I followed him obediently.

"It's paining." I muttered lowly, pointing to my back, and he instantly examined the same.

His response was a curse.

He quickly removed the t-shirt he was wearing and made me wear the same on top of my now destroyed dress.

"Do you know where they are?" He questioned in a gentle voice, and I nodded my head in a yes.

I told him everything without leaving any detail, and by now, his eyes were raging. His jaw and fist were clenched, but I still didn't leave my hold on him.

"I knew you were strong. And you proved that today." He said, placing a kiss on my forehead.

He then took out his phone to dial someone. My whole attention was to seek comfort from him. The comfort I didn't receive these many hours from the person who I knew would come running to help me without second thoughts.

His hands were running through my hair in a caring manner, and he kept kissing my head from time to time.

I can now only think the fact that if only I had called him in the first place instead of Ahaan, who I thought would save me, things would've been different. A lot different.

"They will regret messing with you." He muttered, keeping his phone away in his pocket.

"Where is it paining, princess?" He questioned softly, seeing my state.

"Everywhere. They hit me like a rag doll. But you see, I didn't forget your self-defense tricks. I tried my best to free myself, but they were way stronger than me. Yet I hit them, but only to save myself." I rambled, looking at him with glistened eyes.

His eyes were shining as if he were proud of me.

"I promise you, princess, I won't let anyone who did this to my sister live peacefully from this day onwards. They will regret their every single action as they made a mistake messing with my sister. My sister, who I know, is the strongest and bravest." He said, circling his arms around me.

"Don't let Mom and Dad know about anything. Not even a single thing, Dhruv." I said, looking at him pleadingly.

"I won't. But it's my fault in the first place that I trusted him with you. I shouldn't have left you with him." He said, guilt lacing his voice.

"The only fault is mine, Dhruv. I trusted the wrong person. Two years ago and even today." I replied with a known smile.

"He caused this. He didn't believe me." I whispered.

Flashback ends.

I feel so bad for her. She didn't deserve this.
Who exactly is at fault according to you?
