The sunrays peeking directly onto my eyes made me stir in the most comfortable sleep I ever had. Snuggling more into my cozy bed, it radiated warmth, which I had never experienced before. The pillow was soft yet firm, which was new.

With my eyes still closed, I wapped my arms around my new pillow, and I heard some groan and shuffling below me.

Opening my eyes, I peeked above and noticed I was in some sort of godown. It looked kind of abandoned for years as it had dirt in every corner and was completely vacant.

Where the heck am I?

Sitting upward whilst rubbing my eyes, I sniffed, and immediately, my mood rose up due to the amazing cologne.

But I don't use this one, and it feels a lot manly.

And this place looks like it hasn't been used for years.

Hearing a yawn beside me, I looked over it and saw Ahaan laying down, and he opened his eyes slowly.

Looking in my direction, he gave me a bright smile, which made my heart beat increase.

"Now, this is a sight I could get used to." He said huskily, which caused shivers to run down my spine.

Scrunching my face, I looked down and noticed that I was sitting on his thighs, meaning I practically slept on him.

What is wrong with me?

He chuckled at my reaction and sat upwards.

"Morning baby." He said, ruining his hands through my hair to untangle them.

How the fuck is he acting so casually?

"Morning." I muttered sleepily.

I closed my eyelids again and the first thing that came in my view was the moment when the drunk guy was holding and disgusting me forcefully and I shivered in response.

Ahaan must've noticed my change of behaviour and placed a kiss on my forehead.

"Don't worry Kyra. I won't let anything happen to you ever." He said in a serious voice.

I looked at him noticing how sincere he looked while speaking all of this.

I don't know whether he has realized his mistake and is sorry for those or he just wants me as his partner which would benefit him in future for business and media.

I shouldn't feel like this after what he has done but I can't help it. It's like the more I try to avoid the connection between us, the more we get closer.

Parting away after a few minutes, I looked at him and he was smiling at me. It was such a great sight.

Ring...

Ring...

Ring...

The ringing of phone made us to part our bodies and Ahaan let out a frustrated groan.

He eventually picked the call and put it on speaker.

"Hello." He said.

"Hey Ahaan. Where are you guys? I couldn't reach out to you yesterday, but I hope you have reached Shimla safe and sound." Dhruv said.

"No man, the storm didn't let us. Our car stopped near a village and we had to spend the night here." Ahaan replied.

"Oh, I hope you guys are fine. How's Kyra?" Dhruv asked.

Ahaan looked at me questioningly and I shook my head to indicate not to tell Dhruv what happened with me yesterday. He will surely get angry when he'll know what those guys did. But Ahaan managed it so there's nothing to worry.

"Yeah we both are good. And what did you meant by did you guys reached? Haven't you guys reached there?" Ahaan questioned.

"Nahh, the police didn't let us go ahead from a point so we had to spend the night at a motel. We're about to continue with the journey and it'll probably take us an hour to reach." Dhruv said.

"Alright. We'll also continue as soon as the car gets repaired. From what I think it'll take us around 2 hours." Ahaan said.

"Okay. See you then." He said.

He put his phone away and looked at me.

"Come on, we need to find a mechanic so we can continue our trip." He said.

I let out a whine at the thought of traveling more.

"No, I don't want to sit in the car again for this long." I mumbled.

"I don't want to as well but we really need to move away from this village and go to Dhruv and Sarah. I even have a surprise planned for you." He said.

"Really?" I asked.

He nodded his while smiling.

Getting up from the floor he gave his hand to me which I gladly took and he jerked me upwards with extra force which resulted in my forehead bumping with his rock hard chest.

"Oomph." I muttered while rubbing my forehead.

"Oh shit! I am so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. Are you okay? Oh my god why am I even asking this when I know you're hurt. Please Kyra it wasn't intentional--" He rambled.

"God Ahaan you need to stop your rambling." I mumbled.

He frowned and blew a kiss on my forehead.

"Come on let's get going." He said holding my small hand in his large ones.

I nodded and soon we came out of the godown.

We'd found a mechanic but it took over 25 minutes in searching and another 15 minutes to reach our car.

The major problem was with the water level not in the wiring of car so the problem was solved pretty quickly and we were back on the road on our way to Shimla.

"Why did you deny to tell Dhruv about what happened?" Ahaan questioned.

"You have no idea how angry he'll get after listening it. Probably even finding them from any corner in the world and making them begging for forgiveness." I replied thinking about the situation and shivering internally.

I know this isn't only about what the goons did, but he'll be more worried about my reaction. I am quite shocked myself that I was able to recover soon due to Ahaan's comfort because it usually takes me minutes to do so. And I like to be alone when I have attacks but at that point I was craving for Ahaan's presence and warmth.

He nodded understandingly.

I could tell he had something to tell me or maybe ask me, but was refraining from it. Is it about marriage or is it what I am thinking should not be? He should never know what happened and what my issue is because I don't want anyone to see me as weak or pathetic. Dhruv already gets worried about my problems and if he gets to know the whole situation then he probably won't even let me leave the house.

"Here we are." He declared and looking around I noticed that indeed we have arrived at a beautiful resort.

"It's so beautiful." I whispered after a moment of observing it.

He nodded smiling.

"Come on, let's go inside. Dhruv and Sarah are waiting for us." He said.

"Yeah." I muttered.

Moving inside, my eyes were all over the resort feeling it's undying beauty. This place is something which I loved. The lush mountains, tall and full trees, wind blowing around, greenery everywhere, this is what gives me peace and happiness. I thought we were going to stay somewhere luxurious and modern the way Dhruv likes, but I guess Ahaan made the arrangements. Maybe he remembers my likings although it has been too long.

"Penny for your thoughts?" My thoughts got broken by Ahaan's husky voice.

"Huh? Nothing." I said.

"And you think I'd believe that?" He asked smugly.

"It's just that I am still awestruck by the resort you chose. If I clearly remember you and Dhruv always prefer luxury over everything. Now all this so I am little confused." I sighed.

"Well people change." He shrugged.

"Sure they do." I said pressing my lips tightly trying to shut down the haunting memories.

"Kyra I didn't mean like that. You know I would never hurt you in my life. You have no idea how guilty I am for what I did." He said sounding helpless.

It broke my heart seeing him like this, but this is nothing compared to what I felt that day. If he would have just believed me and not left me alone, I would still be the same. But he changed me. For bad. For worse.

"You-" My voice got broken by someone shouting our name.

"Kyra. Ahaan."

Looking ahead I noticed Sarah running towards me with her arms wide open and Dhruv was trying to catch her speed. The scene looked so funny.

"Hey! Did you guys just reach?" Sarah asked hugging me.

"Yup. Dhruv must've told you what happened." I replied.

"He did. So how was riding a car with Ahaan straight for 8 hours?" She whispered at me wiggling her eyebrows.

"You have no idea what all have happened in the past 24 hours." I muttered.

"You are telling me each and every detail later." She pointed out, smirking.

I could definitely use some advice about what is going on. I am not able to understand what should I do and what not. This morning, I behaved with him like I used to when we were together. And it's not a good sign.

"How was yours?" I asked.

A blush rose up her cheeks and I chuckled.

"Even you are telling me what you did. I am not going to leave you alone remember." I smirked.

"Okay." She replied.

"Fatty." I heard someone say and I rolled my eyes.

"Dumbo" Someone said again.

"Short stuff." I again heard someone and I lost this time.

"5'7 isn't short." I hissed.

"Well for me it is. Just look at this, you are not even able to reach up my shoulders." Dhruv said smirking.

"Shut up Dhruv. I am in no mood of your jokes. I am really tired and I could definitely use a nap right now so just give me my room keys." I said sighing.

To be honest I was more tired with my mind and heart. I just don't know what is happening to me. I hope all of this gets cleared in no time.

"Okay Okay. We have 3 rooms in total so you and Sarah are going to share one and Ahaan and I are going to have our own rooms." He said.

"What? That's unfair. Why will both of you get a room alone and we both have to share." I huffed.

"Stop being a baby. Now if you have this much problem then I don't mind sharing with you." Dhruv said.

"No! I am good with Sarah." I raised my voice.

Geez! I would never share the same bed with Dhruv. I clearly remember once we slept in my room together after watching a movie and he didn't let me sleep for a minute peacefully. His gigantic body took 3/4 of my bed and the 1/4 part where I adjusted, he kept hitting me with his legs. At one point I was so frustrated that I slapped him on the face and kicked him out of my bed, but it didn't affect him to least. He continued sleeping on the floor. I have no idea how's that even possible.

He laughed and gave our room keys to us.

"So take a nap, rest or do anything you want for the next two hours because after that we'll gather near the swimming pool as I have something planned for us." Ahaan said.

"Okay." We replied.

We reached our cottage. All three of them were basically one after the other so we weren't that apart. Tiredness and body ache from the journey was killing us so after changing our clothes Sarah and I directly hit the bed with an hour later alarm.
