Bᴏɴᴜs Oɴᴇ

"Careful there." Sarah whispered to the ever excited Skye.

In return, she only let out a small woof, making Sarah cringe.

"He'll wake up Skye, and then you know he'll kill me." She pouted towards the cute as ever Golden Retriever, Skye.

Skye looked at her mother for a good minute and then turned towards her sleeping Dad only to jump beside his sleeping figure in the safest of manner, just like Sarah had taught her.

Skye moved forward towards her father to stick out her tongue like always and licked his face as if he were the most tasty thing in the world.

This made Dhruv stir in the most comfortable sleep of his life with his daughter in his arms.

"Sarah, stop licking my face, babe. Aren't you tired because of last night's - " He started only to be cut off by a loud bark.

"Yuck Dhruv. Do you think I'll lick your face? That's so disgusting." She said with a weird face.

"But who -" He started but stopped right there.

"Please don't say it's Skye." He pleaded in the most panicked tone.

No matter how manly or macho of a person Dhruv is, he just hates dogs. And this was the total opposite case with Sarah as she basically loved those resulting in a new dog for their family.

"But it is your favorite, Skye." She said in a sweet tone.

"S-Skye p-lease g-get aw-ay." He stuttered, making Sarah laugh.

"That's so hilarious. I should just record this and send it to Kyra." She said laughing like anything.

"Don't even dare." He threatened.

"Or what?" She asked, resting her hands on her hips, trying to look intimidating.

"Or else you'll not be able to walk for a week." He replied, looking serious as ever.

"Oh my god! Don't tell me you're going to beat me like you always did in the childhood, you hulk of a man. I swear I'll hit you back." She said, trying to look scary, but her nervousness was way visible.

"Beat you? Where does your imagination come from? I was talking about our night's sessions." He frowned, his tone casuals as ever.

Bark

Bark

And by now, Dhruv's eyes were wide open again.

"S-Sarah, please g-get her away from m-me." He said, looking pleadingly at his wife.

"What will I get?" She asked with a smirk.

"Uhh- a kiss?" He responded hopefully.

"Oh, shut it. I would get that anytime." She said, flicking her hair back dramatically.

"I'll make Inaaya sleep today." He said, this time looking adorable as ever.

"Nope. I will have to feed her so it won't make a difference." She replied, blowing air on her nails.

"Enough Sarah. Get Skye away from me." This time, Dhruv's voice was comparatively firm.

"Skye, your father is shouting on me." She said to the golden retriever.

And then it was a series of bark from the cutest Skye to her glaring father, Dhruv Malhotra.

"I-I am s-sorry Sarah. I won't do that again." He said, his face displaying his regret very well majorly because it was the matter of Skye, who he doesn't trust.

And she still didn't look in his direction, continuing to blow air on her dried as ever nail paint.

"Please, babe." He again said in the softest tone, and Sarah couldn't resist it.

"Alright. But do remember I'll beat your ass if you ever use that tone on me." She warned, pointing her slender finger towards his direction.

"I won't mind." He said smugly, and even this time, Sarah couldn't resist Dhruv's flirting, resulting in a deep blush appearing her cheeks.

"You're so -" She started only to get cut off by Skye's bark.

"Sarah?" Dhruv again asked, looking at her hopefully trying to get away from Skye.

"Tell me one final thing you'll be doing in return." She crossed her arms.

"Uhhh- I'll change Inaaya's diapers. For a month." He said, and he hadn't looked this hopeful in his whole life.

"That's just fantastic!" She exclaimed excitedly, gesturing for Skye to come towards her direction.

Skye, following the orders of her mother, exited their bedroom, leaving Sarah, Dhruv, and an almost 6 months sleeping Inaaya, who was lying on her father's chest.

"So? What were you saying? I am so -" She didn't even realize when Dhruv had laid Inaaya down on the bed, now circling his arms around his wife from behind, shocking her.

"I-I wasn't saying anything." She stuttered due to their close proximity.

"Uh huh. What happened to my ever glaring and shouting wife?" He said smugly, turning Sarah in a way that this time their chests were touching.

"Don't say such things about the sweetest of a wife you could ever find Dhruv Malhotra." She warned, placing her head on his chest.

"No matter how much she shouts, she is the only one I love." He said, looking into distance, and by now, Sarah's cheeks had turned deep red.

"I love you." She mumbled quietly, and he heard it very well.

"And I love you the most." He declared, circling his arms around her petite figure, both lost into the deep moment of togetherness.

Life for Sarah and Dhruv had been amazing yet quite shocking. What Sarah didn't expect was that the arrival of her daughter would only be after her father's demise.

The reason is cancer.

She always had this thought that her father was behaving differently and was always hell-bent on getting her married. She even got to know about this problem, but she wasn't sure as she believed that the reports that came into her hands accidentally could've been wrong. But she didn't know that it was the truth and he was in the last stage of cancer, which he had tried his best to hide from his daughter.

Sarah was in the beginning of her ninth month of pregnancy when the news of her fathers deteriorating health shook her. But in the end, she couldn't do anything regarding this matter, nor could she get angry with her dying father about the same.

Sleepless nights, continuous crying, the starting stage of depression was Sarah's ninth month. No matter how much everyone tried to make her forget about the matter, it wasn't just working as losing her father was a very big deal for her.

But eventually, a husband like Dhruv would've changed that, and he did. Yes, it did take a good amount of time and family therapy from his side, but in the end, Sarah has turned normal as ever. It was majorly because of her newborn daughter and then her husband.

And even now, he didn't let any chance come where Sarah would feel lonely or would've to worry about any single thing. The adoption of Skye was also because of this reason, and Dhruv had to comply with his wife's wish no matter how he hated dogs.

"I am correct this time, right?" Dhruv smirked at his wife, who was busy applying the nail paint to her toenails.

"Nope. Again, wrong." Sarah shook her head, making Dhruv pout.

"But I remember Mom used to do this the same way with Kyra like I am doing with Inaaya." Dhruv grumbled.

"Are you serious, Dhruv? You were literally two when Kyra was born, and how do you even remember your Mom making Kyra wear the diapers?" Sarah huffed at her husband.

"Well, let's just say I watched a video about how to make a baby wear a diaper. I practiced as much as it possible." Dhruv replied, and Sarah couldn't help but grin at him.

"Aww, you're so cute." She cooes, pulling his cheeks.

"No, babe. How many times do I have to remind you not to pull my cheeks?" Dhruv grumbled, but there was this smile plastered on his face.

"Keep reminding then because I won't stop." She replied or more like declared.

"Why are you so dominating?" Dhruv complained.

"I am dominating? Don't even say that Dhruv Malhotra. What about the time when you don't let me eat ice cream? And the biggest of everything when you always choose which movie we are going to watch!" She pointed an accusing finger towards her husband.

"I don't let you eat ice cream because you easily catch cold. The fact that I chose the movie is because you were the one who said my choices are the best." He replied, with a smug smile at the end.

"I was only talking about your choice of choosing me as your wife. Nothing else, okay?" She deadpanned, making Dhruv's eyes go wide.

"Please say you didn't mean that, Sarah." Dhruv looked at her horrified. His dramatics for his family members would never end.

"But I do husband dearest." She grinned, pecking his lips, and he didn't waste any second to capture hers in a passionate one.

His tongue swiped across her swollen bottom lips, and he trailed down wet, feathery kisses to her collarbone all the way from her slender neck.

By now, he had placed her in his lap, who was fully on his support. Her arms involuntarily wrapped across his neck, and his hands had made their way on her waist.

No matter if it has been almost a year into their marriage, their life had been no less than a wild ride. They must've been together since their childhood by different means, but now living 24*7 with each other as life partners was an alluring feeling for them.

They pulled apart to catch much needed breath, and Sarah had placed her head on his bare chest to feel the comfort and warmth.

She is such a baby when it comes to Dhruv.

"I love you, my wife, and I am there for you forever." His voice was heard, and Sarah smiled.

There wasn't any day when Dhruv wouldn't say that. It was only because getting married to each other was a big deal for them as they had somewhere believed that it was almost impossible to see whatever was going on in their lives. But now that it has, he won't leave a chance to cherish this. And Sarah, she needed someone who would say he would be there for her as her father's death was a big deal, and Dhruv was the one who showed it very well.

"How long are you going to make Inaaya wait for her father to make her wear the diaper?" Sarah questioned after some time, pointing at her daughter.

"You win, okay? I can't do it." Dhruv said, now disinterested as ever.

"See, I knew it! You don't know how to make a baby wear a diaper. I can't believe you're a father of a 6 month old." Sarah shook her head with a disappointing expression.

"Is that a bad thing?" Dhruv whispered to himself, now his mood sour as ever.

'He didn't even know how to make a child wear a diaper?' He couldn't help but to think of.

"Oh my god, Dhruv. You're so cute. I was just joking and looking at you." Sarah laughed, and Dhruv playfully glared at her in return as he now understood how his wife is like.

"You will never grow up." He shook his head at her.

"It's a good thing then cause you've already started looking like an oldie unlike me." She grinned, and Dhruv looked at her with wide eyes.

"I am not an oldie, okay? I am just 30." He declared dramatically.

"Exactly. And I am just 27." She smirked.

"Turning 28 next week." Dhruv deadpanned making Sarah pout.

"Aren't we getting old too soon?" She huffed, who nodded his hear immediately.

"Right, no? I am already 30. I can't believe this." Dhruv shook his head.

"And our honeymoon is still pending Dhruv." She said with a sad face.

"You had your complications, Sarah, and you know I wouldn't have taken any risk about this matter. But it has changed now." He replied, his tone soft as ever for her.

"Changed? How?" She frowned, looking confused.

"Because I have planned our honeymoon." He whispered, bending down on her level.

"R-really?" She stuttered due to their closeness.

"And you have no idea what all I have planned that we are going to do there." He huskily said, making her gulp.

No matter how many times they've been intimate or the fact they're even husband and wife now, her shyness in the context of Dhruv and their intimacy hadn't subsided at all.

Dhruv as her husband? She still couldn't believe the fact.

"What about Inaaya?" She questioned in a low voice.

"Mom volunteered to take care of her." He replied, making a grin appear on her face.

"I-" She hesitated.

"You -" He repeated, looking at her expectantly.

"I- want -" She again hesitated.

"You want -" He repeated mischievously, thinking about the fact that Sarah is about to ask Dhruv for an intense session.

"Me?" He ended for her, looking at her with a big smirk.

"I want to change Inaaya's diaper." She whispered in his ears sensually.

"You want to change Inaaya's diaper." He repeated in a husky tone, attacking her neck with his lips.

"Diaper?" This time, he shouted, parting away from him.

And Sarah could no longer control her laugh. Dhruv's expression was just hilarious.

"My god! Your face." She said in between her laughs while Dhruv was busy glaring playfully at his wife.

"I wish I didn't have to go to office today. Otherwise, I would've shown you the trouble you've called upon yourself." He muttered, biting down on her earlobe, which made her gasp.

He's so unpredictable. Sarah thought.

"You're going to the office today?" She questioned, now with a sour look.

"Of course. Why wouldn't I go? It's a normal day like others." He replied, shrugging his shoulders.

"Y-Yeah, of course." She said, trying to control her emotions best.

"Bye, princess." He cooed to his daughter, who was lying down on the bed, lost in her dreamland.

"Bye, love." He mumbled to his wife who was standing near the doorway of their bedroom, trying her best to mask her emotions.

Maybe he's too busy these days. That's why he forgot. She kept thinking in her mind and didn't even realize when Dhruv had captured her in a much needed hug, now placing a loving kiss on her head before he went way, leaving her and their daughter

"What was so important that I had to come here at this stupid place urgently? Couldn't he come home himself?" Sarah grumbled to herself.

Dhruv had called Sarah urgently, saying that she needed to come at a place as soon as possible as there's a problem. And he didn't forget to mention the fact not to bring Inaaya as she would be uncomfortable.

What was such a big problem that Dhruv had to call her this way?

It was a place in the outskirts of Delhi. Thank goodness Dhruv had sent the driver to pick her up because she'd realized by now what kind of place it is. Not a single person could be seen, and her nervousness was picking up every second. The fact that Dhruv wasn't picking up his phone was scaring her to no extent.

"Dhruv?" She called out hesitantly, taking a glance at her surroundings.

"Dhruv!" This time, her voice was comparatively high.

"Dhruv, you're scaring me." She continued walking ahead to the only source of light.

And all of a sudden, a gasp came out of her mouth. The sight in front of her eyes was enchanting. She couldn't believe that she would see something like this.

The trees surrounding the area were covered by beautiful fairytale lightening the absolute darkness here.

It was a sight to behold.

Her steps didn't falter for a moment. She kept walking forward in the direction of the source of lights till the chain of trees was continuing.

And then her eyes finally landed on the one person she had been trying to find since minutes. Standing in the middle, he had a big smile plastered on his face, waiting for her since a long time.

She immediately made her way towards him, who didn't waste any moment to capture her in his embrace.

"What is this, Dhruv? Why did you call me urgently? Is there any serious problem?" She rambled her questions, looking at him with concern.

"Breathe, Sarah. Relax." He whispered, cupping her cheeks in a comforting manner.

"But -" She started only to be cut off by him.

"What's the occasion?" He asked, pulling her closer in such a way that their chests were touching. There was no such gap between them. Both of their bodies molded with each other's in a perfect way.

"I-I-," She stammered, again trying to control her emotions.

"Happy Anniversary Love." He blurted without wasting any other second.

He had already waited for so long to say this that he just couldn't wait anymore.

"Y-You remember?" She asked lowly.

"Well, which idiot doesn't remember his first anniversary with the person whom he loves unconditionally?" He questioned back, making a pink tint appear in her cheeks.

"Happy Anniversary, Dhruv." She finally said the thought that was nagging her mind since the morning.

"You know how hard it was for me to control my emotions when you looked so sad in the morning. My eyes can never bear the sight of that look on your face, my love." He continued nuzzling into her neck.

"And just think of the fact how heartbroken I was at even the thought that you didn't remember our anniversary." She let out facing him.

"Mmhm. All because of this stupid surprise." He mumbled, pulling her closer, my the waist.

"It's not stupid. It was worth the wait, and I absolutely loved it." She butted in making Dhruv smile.

"This is basically nothing." He said, making Sarah shocked for the second time.

"Come with me." He continued taking her hand in his.

"But -" She frowned, only to be cut off by him, who had placed his lips on hers for a chaste kiss.

"No buts, love." He said, parting away from her and continued to take her to the area just beside where they were standing moments ago.

And then her mouth dropped open. In big, bold letters, it was written 'I Love You' with a big heart in the center, which made her heart flutter. It was surrounded by beautiful lights, which enhances the look, and the fact that the whole Delhi was visible from the night was like a cherry on top.

This gesture was so unlike him, but that is why she didn't have any expectations from his side. She let everything happen naturally, on its own.

He led her to the middle of the heart, just the place Sarah had in his own heart.

"Ever expected we'll be each other's life partners? Us as husband and wife?" He questioned, gesturing to both of them with a small smile.

She shook her head, honestly.

"Even I didn't, to be honest. But now that we are, every day I wake up, there's this big smile on my face. Why? The first thought that crosses my mind is that I have you as my wife just beside me. In my arms." He continued with a soft expression, making Sarah smile back

"I love you, Sarah. I love you because you are solely you. I love you because you always put effort into our relationship. I love you because you make me smile. I love you because I can always be myself in your presence. I love you more and more every day that passes, and I am so happy to call you my wife. You have no idea how excited I am to begin another year of our married life."

"Happy Anniversary, love." He ended with a big grin, and by now, he was on his knees, holding her hands in his.

"Happy Anniversary, Dhruv." She whispered back, bending down as well on his level.

"I love you so much, and thank you for always supporting me. I can proudly say that there wasn't a time when you didn't stood by me and I don't think I could even like someone else because it was always been you which certainly is the best for me." She let out softly, and Dhruv smiled to his wife.

"I love you too." He said, crashing down his lips on hers for a kiss to which she didn't waste a second to respond.

"Here." He said, taking out a small box from his pant's pocket.

As soon as he opened the box, it revealed a beautiful neck chain with an infinity sign following the initials of their names. It was absolutely beautiful to Sarah. The uniqueness was shining from every corner.

"It's beautiful, Dhruv." She whispered, caressing the chain with her fingertips.

"May I?" He asked, gesturing the chain, and she nodded without any hesitation.

Within a minute, he'd made her wear the neck chain. And it looked perfect on her just as he'd thought because of which he'd specially requested a jewelry shop to make for his wife.

"But my gift is at home. Come on, let's go, I want to show you." She said, getting up from the ground while pulling him up as well.

"I don't think I'll be able to see that anytime soon. But let's go." He agreed, taking her hand again and leading them to the car that was prepared long back.

The reason? Unknown to Sarah.

For the first time, they both were sitting at the backseat of the car while the driver was bustling the car on the roads of Delhi. Dhruv never liked someone else's presence when it was just the two of them for any reason.

"Dhruv." Sarah whispered, tugging at his sleeves.

He hummed, bending down on her level, and it was again that a blush had appeared her cheeks. Their closeness was captivating.

"The driver is taking the wrong route. Our house is in the opposite direction." She let out gesturing to the area in front of them.

"It's the correct route, baby." He said, and Sarah pouted.

'Has she really forgotten the route to her house? Where is her mind these days?' She thought.

"Airport? Why are we at the airport?" Sarah frowned, looking at Delhi Airport in front of their eyes.

"Because I cannot wait any longer to go for my honeymoon. And I even have the best day to change it." He replied with a known making Sarah grin.

"We're going on our honeymoon? That, too, today itself? Right now?" She rambled excitedly.

He nodded his head in affirmative at her each and every question.

"But what about Inaaya? And I didn't even pack." She let out her problems.

"Mom is going to take care of her granddaughter. After all, it's her right." He responded to her first question.

"Of course." She agreed with a smile.

Shivani Malhotra was the best mother-in-law she could ever ask for.

"And I have done each and every preparations including packing your luggage. So now just brace yourself for the ever pending honeymoon of yours because you have no idea what all I've planned for us." He continued making a big grin appear on Sarah's face.

"Oh, I am so ready, husband." Was her response filled with excitement.

They are the cutest! And so is their little bundle of joy🥹
