From afar, Jungkook heard his name being called. Turning around, he sees that it's no other than Lucas, shouting his name as always. Not moving from his spot, Jungkook raises a hand to give him a wave of acknowledgement.

Surrounded by his friends, Lucas continues to shout, "Hey, come join us for some video games!"

Jungkook shakes his head, offering a friendly smile. "I'm good, Luc. Thanks for the invite though!"

With that he turns his back on him and continues walking away from school. He doesn't have to look at Lucas to know his face is filled with disappointment and confusion. Lucas is undeniably one of the most popular kids in school. So who would dare reject an invite to hang out with him?

Chuckling to himself, Jungkook ruffles his hair and glances up at the sky to adore the bright sky and a few puffs of white cotton candy floating across the blue canvas. He's realised that day by day Lucas is starting to change his behaviour towards him too. Jungkook spent a majority of his time with him in school, just not outside of school, and he could sense Lucas's friendliness starting to wear off.

A bell rings, its miniature sounds mostly being drowned by the chaotic cars that start to swarm near the school as parents are speeding to pick their kids up from school. The small bell comes from a bicycle where Y/N in jean shorts and a bomber jacket rides, trying to maneuver yourself between the cars.

Still walking, he can't take his eyes off you, studying your frowned face and the way your hair is pulled up into a messy bun while you furiously ring your bell at the cars that only ignore you. His smile widens, finding amusement just by watching you.

The art class earlier today still makes his heart flutter. The way you so boldly reached out when he took you for a shy girl. How you weren't afraid to tell him how beautiful you find him and then continued to ask questions about each tattoo drawn on his skin. Both of you had spent the entire art lesson talking about his tattoos, despite getting told off multiple times by the teacher.

In that lesson, he found that there was a lot more depth to each tattoo than he himself thought there was. Talking about them so openly to someone releashed the passionate and creative side to him.

As you finally freed yourself from the cluster of cars, a gleeful smile flourished your lips and you rode off into the street, fleeing from the school atmosphere as fast as you can. Jungkook watches you until you disappear from view.

Right now, he can't think about you.

Clutching his backpack, he pulls his hood up and shields himself from not only the gliterring rays of the sun, but the rest of the bright world.

The sun wasn't shining as bright by the time Jungkook reached his destination. Coming around the corner, he walks further down the dark streets and turns into the maze of alleyways. Sooner or later, he starts to hear footsteps behind him. Footsteps that slowly start to quicken as each second slips by.

He rotates himself hastily, fear gradually growing in his chest. But there's no one behind him. The footsteps must've been purely from the slight fear of being here in the first place. It always gives him a scary feeling but at the same time he loves it. It's a thrill to him, it's addicting.

"Jungkook, you're on time."

Jumping, eyes grow wide and in a flash, he pulls out his knife as he spins around and thrusts it out defensively.

"Woah, woah. It's just me, hyung." Heuning kai's hands fly up, a gleaming grin on his face as he chuckles.

Letting out a deep breath, Jungkook's hand drops and he closes his eyes for a second as his heartbeat returns to normal. Opening his eyes again, he slaps the grinning kid on the chest. "You idiot, I could have fucking stabbed you."

All Heuning kai does is shrug his shoulders, his childish smile unwavering. "Sorry, I didn't realise how easy you were to scare."

Jungkook gives him a cold look, repeating his words in a mocking tone as he lightly punches his arm. Heuningkai laughs in return, flinching slightly.

"Has the meeting started yet?"

"Nope."

"Alright, let's go then." Jungkook lets Heuningkai place his arm around his shoulder and guide him.

He's always thought Heuning kai is too young to be involved in stuff like this, making him protective of him as he looks at him as a younger brother he has to protect. Not only is he too young but he appears too innocent, too happy to be indulged in such a dark life like this. This life is only for the lost souls.

Turning another corner in the knot of the dark alleyways, the two boys find the small circle of the rest of the gang. The sky appears to darken when they appear in Jungkook's view, something so dark and calamitous about their presence that it protrudes a sense of danger and stimulation.

There's only five of them in the gang, including himself. The only one he's mostly friendly with is Heuning kai. Mingyu is nice to him but mostly keeps his distance. Sehun's always been the shady one, sticking to the gang leader like glue. And the gang leader of course is Hongjoong. A man who's reserved, quiet, only speaks when needs be. His presence alone is so powerful that the minute you set eyes on him, you know not to mess with him.

Lighting a cigarette in hand, he puffs out a cloud, watching Jungkook profoundly as he enters their gathering. He sits against a pile of used wood with a leg propped up while everyone stands. Jungkook gives a nod to him as a greeting, sparing his words in fright he might say the wrong thing.

"Got what you promised?", Sehun speaks, looking at Jungkook from underneath his eyelashes as he tries to intimidate him.

Jungkook's eyes trail down his shirt, noticing small droplets of blood decorating the side. Not wasting any time pondering why they're there, he digs into his bags and retrieves a clear bag that contains white pills.

Heuning kai's face lights up at the sight, slapping him on the shoulder, "Woah, you actually got it."

Hongjoong motions for him to give it to him and Jungkook obediently chucks it towards him. Catching it in his hand, his face contorts looking like he's impressed as well as suspicious of him. Flicking his dark stare upwards, he asks, "You're dealing drugs now are you, Jungkook?"

He shakes his head calmly, "Nope, stole it."

Mingyu expresses a frown of question, "How? Where would you even get pills like that?"

Jungkook shifts his stare to him, "That's not important."

"Yes, it is-"

"Leave it." Hongjoong orders, voice solid. He nods at Jungkook, "Well done." is all he says.

Jungkook nods, something in his chest loosening. Feeling Sehun's stare on him, he stares back and his eyes can't help but drop to the blood on his shirt again.

Sehun smirks, "Scared?"

Jungkook meets his eyes, unwavering. "Why would I be?"

Hongjoong gets onto his feet, taking a big whiff out of his cigarette. Approaching Jungkook, he blows the smoke out straight into his face. Jungkook doesn't move an inch, trying not to look intimidated but only respectful to the gang leader.

"Because Jungkook, everyone has to shed some blood at some point..."

Jungkook glances at Heuning kai and the rest, knowing he's the only one who hasn't killed anyone yet in the gang. It's something he's been avoiding the most about being in this gang. The only thing he can't wrap his head around doing in order to commit to them.

Hongjoong grabs his chin gently to make him focus all his scattered attention on him specifically.

"....whether it's yours or someone else's."
