38. Exes From Hell
Yoongi's POV
"Can't you see that I'm trying?"
Jimin's azure blue eyes shifted to me, heavy eyelashes brimmed with tears. His perfect angelic face wet, his porcelain cheeks tinted with a rosy hue.
If I had a heart, it would shatter right about now. Because this must be one of the most devastating fucking things I've ever seen.
And I've lived in Hell.
"I don't know what you want from me," I sighed, running a hand through my hair.
"To just try and not close the book on us." He mumbled in a pleading voice.
Shivers ran down my body as I heard his desperate voice. I felt the urge to cry myself. Shit, what am I now, human?
"I'm sorry. This wasn't supposed to last that long anyway."
"But why?" he whispered, scooching closer on the sofa like a toddler wanting to be hugged. "Who says it needs to be this way? Who says an angel and a demon can't fall in love?"
"They just can't. It's a law of nature."
"It's happened before, you know." he reasoned, too stubborn to let it go.
"It's crazy!" I hissed, a wave of embarrassment flooding in, quickly transforming into anger.
"No," he argued, his baby blue eyes searching mine. "It's a miracle."
"Argh," I clenched my jaw in frustration. "Just stop making this harder for me. You and I both know... this was bound to end. When Faye gets back to Hell and takes the throne as Queen of Darkness, I won't have any choice but to follow her."
"It doesn't have to be this way."
"Yes, it does. I've pledged my undying loyalty to her a long time ago."
"No, I mean... she doesn't have to go back there. Perhaps she'll choose to be with Taehyung."
"I highly doubt that." I scoffed.
"Why not have a little more faith?" Jimin's fingers slipped in between mine. "In us?"
I removed my hand from his, trying not to look at the way his chin buckled up like a sad child.
Faith? That's really not my style.
"I already told you," I grumbled. "This thing wasn't meant to last."
I stood up and started walking to the door as Jimin followed after me. I could hear his quiet sobs and sniffles.
"I won't beg you to stay," suddenly I felt his loose grip at my shirt as he pressed his forehead at my back. "Because I know you're not gonna listen to me. But you should know that... I love you. And I'll wait for you... if you ever change your mind. I'll wait for millennia to come. I want you to know this."
My heart did a strange thing as a gasp found its way to my lips. Some unfamiliar feeling flooded my system like an infinite ocean. I suddenly felt the urge to turn around and pull Jimin into my embrace; to never let him go and never stop looking into his beautiful blue eyes.
"I..." I croaked, my defenses crumbling. His fingers clasped at the fabric of my shirt more tightly and I slowly turned around, peering in his eyes deeply.
"I'm willing to fight for you," he said in between hiccups. "Because I know what we have is real. I know that."
"Jimin..." I whispered, taking his face in my palms. "I love you too."
"You do?" he asked hoarsely.
"I do," I nodded. "I was just... ugh, you know me. I'm too stubborn to admit it and also, I'm fucking terrified. I'm terrified of what's going to happen to us... you and I are polar opposites. How did we ever fall for each other?"
"I guess opposites attract," he smiled softly.
"I guess so. I've been trying to deny my feelings for too long."
"You didn't have to. I could feel your love, but hearing you say it out loud feels so amazing," Jimin murmured gently.
"I promise I'll try to figure out a way to make it work. A way that-"
The shrill sound of the doorbell echoed throughout the apartment, making me frown. A wave of anger rose from deep within me as whoever was on the other side of that door rang again, like half a second later. Ugh.
"Who could it be?" Jimin whispered.
"Just wait here," I grumbled, marching towards the front door and yanking it open.
Flaming red bangs cascading over mischievous black orbs. Perfectly chiseled face and rosy plump lips. Though he had assumed a different human form, I could never mistake him and his presence. I could smell the stench of Hell from a mile away.
"Hoseok." I muttered darkly, wondering what his bitch ass was doing here.
"Hi, hoe. So you into saints now?" he sneered mockingly, toying with a lighter and twirling it between his fingers.
"None of your fucking business. Why are you up here? Ran out of people to torture back in Hell?"
"No, it was you that I wanted to torture," He chuckled. "Also I'd forgotten how your butthole tasted, so I'm here to remind myself."
"Go fuck yourself." I seethed.
"Oh, but isn't it better when you do it?" he cocked a brow teasingly.
I groaned with frustration just as I felt Jimin's light footsteps approach me. He glanced over my shoulder, pressing his form against my arm.
"Who is this, Yoongi?" he asked in a sweet, innocent voice.
My eyes narrowed to thin slits as I tried to think of ways to avoid answering this question. I couldn't. I rolled my eyes in annoyance.
"My ex."

Jungkook's POV
"So..." I hesitated. "You don't bite the heads off of children?"
I chewed on my lower lip as I waited for a reply. I was standing there, with Lucifer himself, and we'd already run out of conversation topics. It didn't seem like he was the chatty type though, because it was mainly me that was blabbering.
"No, of course not," he looked weirded out. "I detest the little creatures. And I'd certainly never put one in my mouth."
"Got it," I nodded, trying to appear cool in front of him.
"You're still debating whether I'm the real Lucifer."
"Oh, no way! I very much believe-"
"I'm afraid I can't offer anything obvious like a tail as proof." He said as-a-matter-of-factly.
"And so no horns?" I gave him a quizzical look.
"No, afraid not. That's the stuff of movies and TV."
"Mhm."
"They always get it wrong," he groaned, a hint of frustration on his silky voice.
I was just about to ask my next question, when I heard haste footsteps right around the corner.
My mouth popped open and before I could say anything, I saw Faye and Taehyung rounding the corner, galloping straight towards us.
"RUUUUUUN!" Faye shouted in a battle cry, passing by me, grabbing me by the hand and dragging me along with them.
"WHY ARE WE RUNNING?" I shouted back, struggling to keep her pace. Damn, was this girl on steroids?
"Look behind yourself if you want an answer to this question!" Taehyung called out.
I peeped behind my shoulder and saw an army of policemen descending towards us.
"FAYE!" I screeched, all the blood drowning from my face. "Did you break Taehyung out of freaking jail?!"
"Did you have a better plan?!" she hissed.
"Yes, like do your magic and work something out, but without turning us into fugitives!" I shouted.
She ignored me. "Dad!" Faye yelled at Lucifer who was just walking at a leisure pace behind us, toying with his lighter.
"Yes, darling?"
"Do something!"
"But darling, as you've made perfectly clear so many times until now, you can do perfectly well on your own. Why don't you do something?" he asked innocently, throwing a casual glance at the raging mob of policemen currently catching up with us.
"Because my power is gone!" she snapped at him spitefully, causing him to cock a brow in shock.
"Your power is what-"
"I don't have time to explain! Just do something!" Faye begged.
Turning serious all of a sudden, Lucifer halted in his steps. Faye slowed down as well and so did me and Taehyung.
"Have a kid, they said. It will be fun, they said." Lucifer mumbled. "There's a reason why celestial beings can't reproduce. Bloody hell."
A dark shadow cast over his face as he snapped his fingers as the vortex sucked us in. Everything went dark.
