LXXII. Heartbreak Weather

      When Sam called all of the guys to meet her and Odessa had Miguel's apartment, none of them expected Tory to be with them. And Hailey definitely didn't expect it. She stood by Grayson with her arms crossed, waiting for Odessa and Sam to show up. When she saw Tory with them, she dropped her arms and scoffed. "Hell no."

"Hailey—" Odessa started to say.

"No. Whatever plan you two have conjured up, I'm not doing it with her." Hailey snapped and glared at Tory.

Tory sighed. "Hailey, I understand—"

"No, you don't understand, actually. You hurt my best friend and almost ruined her life. You almost ruined all of our lives. Why the hell would I be okay with doing anything with you?"

Her feelings were valid, everybody knew that. Hailey was protected over Odessa, over all of her friends, and Tory hurt them all. But Odessa trusted her. "You know how much I love you, and how thankful I am for you." She said to Hailey, taking a step closer to her. "But this is what's happening, and if you're on my side then I need you to cooperate with us because I really, really can't do this without you."

Hailey's jaw settled. Everybody else was quiet, not wanting her wrath to reign on them. She looked at Tory, who went quiet as well, looking uncomfortable.

"You forgave me." Eli spoke up, trying to prove a point.

"And me." Robby added in, thinking the same thing.

"We all did." Grayson spoke and went to her side, putting his hand on her back.

Odessa nodded at all of them. "Tory can help us, Hails. Just give her a chance."

Hailey looked at Tory again, both of them silent, and as much as she didn't want to, Hailey knew they were right. "Fine." She gave in, making them smile. "But it doesn't mean I have to like it. So, what's the plan?"

"We think we have a way to prove it was Silver who assaulted Stingray." Sam explained.

"Silver had security cameras installed at the old dojo. If the attack happened there—" said Tory.

"It would all be on tape." Odessa finished with a sharp nod.

"But that place was cleaned out." Robby reminded them.

"That might not matter," Demetri's brain took action, making them all turn to him. "The systems that we sell at TechTown all save the footage to a certain server. When Silver moved out, he probably took the whole system."

Oliver grew a smile. "I love your brain."

"I think he did." Tory quickly added in. "There's a server in his office at the flagship dojo."

"If we have access to it, we can find that footage. We could even post that Stingray clip to their YouTube channel." Eli suggested and started to smile.

"And expose those bitches for good!" Grayson expressed.

"I love it." Odessa nodded. "We gotta let everybody else know."

Sam nodded, too. "Let them know we're taking down Cobra Kai tonight." She declared.

"Hell yeah! Let's go!" Oliver whooped and grabbed Demetri's hand, dragging him to his jeep.

Odessa took a hold of Eli's hand and smiled. The group piled into their vehicles and drove to the dojo.

Odessa had texted Bert and told him to meet her and the others at the dojo, and to spread the word. The group of friends gathered together. "If it's the same alarm system, I should be able to bypass it." Robby led them.

"Spoken like a true man that's done this before." Said Demetri, clearly not knowing the boy's past.

"Karate wasn't my first hobby. I fractured a law or two before we met." He explained, his eyes cutting to Odessa for a second.

"Or we could just scan my key card." Tory suggested and held up her key card.

"Yeah, make things slightly less illegal." Oliver agreed, smiling slightly.

"So that those of us on probation keep from, you know, violating it."

Odessa watched the way Robby smiled at Tory and she smiled to herself.

By that time, everybody else from the dojo had shown up. "Sorry we're late. Someone took forever to get ready." Said Chris, directing his statement toward Mitch.

"It's the middle of the night."

"What's she doing here?" Nate asked once he saw Tory with them.

"She's with us. She's on our side." Odessa responded firmly.

"Exactly how are we going to do that?" Mitch questioned.

"We're gonna show them who their Sensei really is. We think we have proof he's a criminal." Miguel explained.

"And needs to be put away in a mental institution." Hailey added in.

"We're going upstairs to Silver's office. We need you downstairs as lookout." Sam explained further to the boys that showed up.

"Yeah, and that means actually look out, not stay at the snack bar all night." Said Oliver, and Demetri was quick to hit his arm.

"Okay, if we're doing this, let's hurry." Said Hailey while motioning her arms to the dojo.

When Tory successfully gained access into the building, Odessa followed her group up to Silver's office while Bert and the others stayed on the first floor. Demetri and Eli started hooking everything up to the computer.

"Okay, so pulling the Stingray clip off the server is first day computer camp shit, then we upload the clip to the YouTube channel and Cobra Kai is out of business." Eli explained smartly.

"You sound so smart. I love it." Odessa praised and sat her hands on his shoulders.

Everybody gathered around him and Demetri as they worked on the computer. "Okay, so Stingray's assault happened after prom." Demetri explained and started typing on the computer.

Oliver leaned over him and put his hand on the table. "I love it when you all nerd on me, baby."

"Well, then you're gonna love this." His boyfriend grinned.

"What about. . ." Grayson trailed and pointed at the security camera that was facing them.

"I got it. I got it." Said Oliver, patting him on the shoulder and he walked to the corner of the room. He reached up and tore the camera off the wall, holding it up while smirking. "Being tall has its perks."

"I can't believe it's happening. We're really gonna take Silver down." Tory said to Robby.

He nodded and smiled at her. "Yeah. What could go wrong?"

"Don't speak into existence, pretty boy." Hailey muttered and walked around the room with her hands on her hips.

Odessa squeezed Eli's shoulders. "You got this, baby. I believe in you." She encouraged him.

He titled his head back and smiled at her.

After a few more minutes of waiting, Demetri pulled up the video clip. "I got it!" He announced joyfully.

"Yes!" Oliver thrilled and threw up his hands.

"Finally." Hailey expressed and they gathered around them again.

They watched the video of Silver standing in front of Stingray at the dojo. "You wanna be Cobra Kai. Oh, so you wanna be Cobra Kai, huh—" all of a sudden, the video started to glitch.

Grayson's eyes went wide. "Whoa, whoa, what's happening?" He quickly asked.

"Shit. Shit." Demetri cursed and tried to get the glitching to stop.

"What happened?" Odessa asked loudly.

"That's all there is! The rest of it's been erased!"

"Silver covered his tracks." Robby spoke when he realized.

Hailey threw her head back. "Oh, come on." She groaned.

"Why am I not surprised?" Oliver threw his hand up and rubbed his forehead with it.

"Okay. S-So what now?" Miguel asked.

"There might be other footage we can use." Tory mentioned.

"You wouldn't happen to know the date and time would ya?" Eli asked her but instead of getting an answer, she came around and typed it on the keyboard. "Okay, I think I got it. Is this the clip?"

She quickly nodded. "Yeah, that's the one."

All of a sudden, they heard Chris scream from downstairs. "Oh hell, here we go." Said Grayson.

"Okay, we'll check it out. Stay here. We need that footage." Sam instructed and a handful of them walked out of the room.

Odessa kissed the top of Eli's head. "Good luck." She told him and patted Demetri's shoulder when she passed by. When she ran downstairs with everybody, she saw the Cobra Kai's and Kenny kicked Anthony to the ground. "Hey, hey, hey. What the hell?" She exclaimed and bent down, helping him up.

"So you're with them now?" Devon said to Tory upon her arrival.

You knew what would happen to him and his friends if ever stepped into this dojo again."

"How'd they even know we were here?" Sam was perplexed.

Kenny and Kyler looked at each other, smirking. "Mitch, come on, get your ass over here where you belong." Kyler belted.

They were all in a state of shock when Mitch stepped out of the group and switched to the Cobra Kai shirt. He unzipped his jacket and reveled a Cobra Kai shirt. "Oh, you little bitch." Hailey hissed with anger.

"Not gonna lie, I didn't see that coming." Oliver whispered and scratched the back of his ear.

"Penis Breath, how could you?" Bert asked, completely betrayed.

"Gee. I don't know. Maybe cause they don't call me Penis Breath," Mitch said furiously. "You know, you guys have been so dead set on taking down Cobra Kai, but I didn't even want to leave in the first place. I mean loon around," he looked around the dojo. "They got snacks, swag, smoothies. Our dojo doesn't even have a roof. Or like, any hot chicks." He quickly looked at the girls. "No offense, guys."

Odessa and Sam rolled their eyes. "Oh, like you had a chance anyway." Hailey insulted him.

"Alright, alright Penis Breath. Shut up." Said Kyler and he pushed Mitch back, earning a look of disbelief.

Grayson snorted and quickly wiped his nose to cover it, clearing his throat.

"We got a traitor, y'all got a traitor. So that cancels out. So, we gonna throw down or what?"

"I'm not a traitor. I'm just not dying what Silver's selling." Tory defended herself.

"Yeah, he's turned you all into a bunch of psychos." Said Odessa and she threw them all a nasty look.

Robby stepped up beside Tory. "Silver lied to all of us." He spoke, looking directly at Kenny.

It fueled a fire in the young boy. "Us?" Kenny stepped forward. "What us? The only person who lied to me is you—"

Miguel stepped in front of Robby. "Hey, Robby's right. You don't want to do this." He said, causing Kenny to take a step back.

Things went quiet for a minute. Odessa looked at Hailey, neither of them knowing what would come next. Then, Kenny threw a punch at Miguel but he was quick to lean to the side and miss it.

Odessa stepped forward, defending her friend, and she kicked Kenny in the stomach, making him fly back into the Cobra Kai's. All hell broke loose after that.

It was all happening so fast that Odessa felt like she didn't have time to breathe. It was all a blur until she could feel every hit, punch, and kick that came her way. Odessa kicked a boy from Cobra Kai in the knee, making him bend over in pain, then she spun around and kicked him in the face.

When a girl from the opposing team punched her in the face, in the nose, Odessa's eyes watered and she felt blood pool down her face. Hailey came and spun the girl around, kicking her across the face. "Yeah, doesn't feel so good, does it?" She spat.

"Too bad you didn't wear your heels." Odessa said while holding her nose.

"No," Hailey responded and held up her hand, revealing the gold rings on her fingers. She smirked. "But that doesn't mean I'm not prepared."

The two of them saw Eli and Demetri come running down the stairs. "Eli!" She called out and ran over to him, dodging through all of the fighting people around her. "Did you guys get it?"

Her boyfriend nodded breathlessly. "Yeah, we got it."

"Hey, Miguel, we got it uploading!" Demetri called out to Miguel, who was too busy fighting with his flannel wrapped around his arms.

Suddenly, Kyler appeared and tackled Eli aggressively to the floor. The tablet fell out of his hand and slid across the floor by Anthony's feet. Odessa glared at him. "Hey, back off!" She fumed and kicked him in the ribs.

Regaining his balance, Kyler laughed tauntingly. "Ahh, so the slut's finally got a voice."

As she backed up, Eli scrambled to his feet and ran up behind him, wrapped his arms around Kyler's neck, holding him in place. "Do it, baby." He said to her as Kyler struggled.

Smirking, Odessa ran forward and spun around, kicking Kyler in the face and he fell to the ground. "That felt really good."

He smiled and held up his hand, her giving him a happy high five.

"Get him!" They heard Kenny yell and the couple turned around, seeing the Cobra Kai's start to gather around Anthony who was holding the tablet.

"Protect the egg!" Miguel hollered.

Quickly, the two of them ran and stood with their team, all of them gathered around to protect Anthony.

Hailey had elbowed a boy in the nose when she saw Sam and Tory struggling to fight against Sensei Kim. She looked back and forth between them and her team trying to help Anthony. When she saw Kim kick Tory in the stomach and she fell, hissing at her hurt wrist, and then saw her hit Sam in the face, Hailey's face darkened into a glare.

She ran forward and while Kim had a hold of Sam, Hailey ran forward and kicked the Sensei with her right leg, causing her to let go of Sam. "Go help the others. I got this."

Sam's eyes went wide. "Are you sure?"

"Yes. Go." Hailey repeated and Tory managed to stand up on her own. Sam quickly ran off to help the others and Hailey looked at her, glancing at her injury. "Are you okay?"

Tory was in slight shock. "Yeah. Yeah, I'm good." She quickly nodded.

When Devon came and stood with them, Hailey tightened her jaw. The three girls stood in front of the Sensei. "Lee, do not let these two cloud your judgment. You are the future of this dojo, not Nichols. You could be a champion, do not throw it away."

Devon looked at Hailey, and the two of them stared at one other. Hailey could be angry at her all she wanted, but at the end of the day she understood. She had fallen into Cobra Kai's trap the same way Kenny did. Odessa tried pulling her out of it the same way Robby tried with him. Devon was young. The only way they'd be able to end it all is by working together.

"Oh, I will be a champion. But I'll get there my own way, not yours." Devon replaced and Hailey smiled.

All three of the girls raised their fists. Kim laughed at them. "This should be easy. For me, at least." She taunted them.

"Not on your life, you old bitch." Hailey sneered.

When she kicked at Devon, the young girl grabbed a hold of her leg and Tory brought up her own leg, kicking Kim in the chest. She stumbled back but kept a grip on Devon, and Hailey dropped to her feet, spun around, and kicked the Senseis legs from under her.

All of the fighting seemed to stop when Tory's video footage appeared on the tv screen. "I need to talk to you." It showed her in front of Silver.

Odessa lowered her fists and faced the tv. "Nichols. What's on your mind? Excited to take things to the next level?" Silver asked her.

Everybody gathered around at that point. Miguel and Eli came and stood by her sides, all of them bleeding and bruised. "What's the point? You'll just pay to make me a champion."

Murmurs upraised from the kids in Cobra Kai. "So you know about the ref. Have you told anyone?"

"No yet. So you don't deny it?"

"Not at all. I paid him off to make sure Cobra Kai won. It was an insurance policy. What? You really think Beaumont deserved to win over you? She's a good fighter but she's weak."

Tory seemingly glared at the man. "Just because she has a heart doesn't make her weak."

Odessa's lips curled into a frown. Eli put his hand on the back of her neck and rubbed it comfortingly with his thumb.

"That's it?" Everyone turned around and Silver stood there looking like a complete mess. "That was your big plan, Larusso?" Odessa hadn't even noticed that Daniel and all of the other adults, including her parents, had shown up. "Breaking into my dojo to steal some footage that means nothing?"

All of the kids dispersed so that it was just Daniel and Silver. Spotting her mom and dad, Odessa walked behind everybody and her eyes widened when she saw her father covered in blood. "Dad, why are you bleeding?"

"Oh, don't worry, sweetheart. Most of it's not mine." Christian huffed out, thinking it would make things better.

She looked at her mom but Thalia only shook her head. "It's been a long night."

"It wasn't his plan. It was ours." Tory confessed.

"And it changes everything." Robby joined in glaring at him.

Silver stared at the two of them, and then he looked around at the dojo full of students, mainly the Cobra Kai's. "Our enemies. . .think they can keep attacking us with no repercussions! And what does the enemy deserve?" He called out.

As he was expecting an answer, none of the Cobra Kai's gave him one. Silver was astonished. "You think I'm the only one willing to go to these lengths?" He continued. He pointed at the other team. "Their senseis broke into my home tonight. My home! Attacked me, unprovoked!"

"It was definitely provoked." Christian slipped out with a glare on his face.

Odessa looked at him with wide eyes. Thalia quickly hit him on the chest.

Silver held his arms out. "But here I am. The only one left standing. They think they're entitled to victory because their way is 'right' and our way is 'wrong', but that's not how it works. There are no morals to the story. No happy endings. Life isn't a fairy tale! It's a competitive sport. Right and wrong, there's no such thing. There are only winners and losers. Cobra Kai builds winners because we're willing to do whatever it takes to come out on top." He continued to ramble on, his words spitting with anger. He looked at Daniel. "Everything you did to try and stop me amounted to nothing but pain. You got your ass kicked, Danny boy. "Now you can either accept that, or. . .I can kick it again right now."

Odessa immediately searched for Sam, seeing her become worried at the threat. Amanda stepped forward, defending her husband. "We're all with you Daniel. Do what you have to do."

"Yeah, kick us ass, Mr. L!" Oliver exclaimed from his side of the room, nobody making an effort to shush him.

Silver smirked dangerously and the two Senseis circled each other. "First I took Chozen. Now you. This is where Miyagi-Do ends."

Daniel stood his ground. "Miyagi-Do existed before any of us. It'll be around long after we're gone. The roots are strong, so the tree will survive."

Odessa tensed up, the tension in the room so high that she felt dizzy. When Silver threw the first punch, she gasped and brought her nails to her mouth. She thought all of the worst possibilities that could come out at the end.

But Daniel was strong. He'd been through so much, Silver put him through hell. He was quicker, wiser, and he didn't fight with a need for a revenge. He fought for loyalty, he fought for honor. That's why they all followed him.

When Daniel kicked Silver into the trophy case, glass shattering everywhere, nobody made a move. It was quiet until all of the kids from Cobra Kai started taking off their jackets. They threw them at Silver, symbolizing everything that he took from them and they were taking it back, the truth finally coming out.

"Is it over?" Odessa asked out loud.

Thalia pulled her close and sighed. "Yeah, honey. It's over."

Ambulances and police showed up at the dojo and they watched Silver be put into the back of a cop car, which in Hailey's words, was the most satisfying thing in the world. The news reporters had shown up trying to talk to anybody about what happened tonight. Everybody was exhausted. Christian was leaning against the ambulance and Thalia dabbed a cotton ball on his forehead, trying to clean up the blood. He hissed at the painful feeling. "I haven't see you this bloody and beaten up since you won your All Valley."

He chuckled. "I'm still good looking though, right?" He joked with her.

Thalia lowered her eyes so that they met his, and she was serious. "You scared the hell out of me tonight. What the hell were you thinking going to Silver's house?" She whacked him on the arm.

Christian winced and held the spot that she hit. "I was thinking my best friend needed my help and I own him my life. I would do it again." He declared.

Her eyes softened slightly and she shifted her jaw wide to side. "Don't do that to me again." Her voice went quiet. "Promise me."

The corner of his mouth turned up. Standing up straight, Christian put his hand on her cheek and kissed her forehead, his touch lingering and Thalia closed her eyes. "On my life." He whispered.

Odessa touched her bruised nose and winced. She had blood on her white shirt and knew that it would probably never come out. She looked around at everybody, seeing them hurt and injured, and felt relieved that their plan had worked. They did the right thing even if it costed me so much.

"You look like hell." Robby said when he came and stood in front of her.

Odessa rolled her eyes. "You should look in the mirror." She said back, making him laugh. She grinned. "You did good tonight, Keene."

"So did you, Beaumont." He grinned back and it was small. "Y'know, what Silver said in that video, he was wrong. You're not weak. You're one of the strongest people I know, and you've changed my life. I just want you to know how grateful I am to you."

Odessa would always be grateful for Robby coming into her life the way he did. Even if the time in her life was rough, she understood him in ways that others didn't. Robby was a great guy, and he was an even greater friend. "You changed my life too, Robby. I'm happy that you're happy." When she saw Tory, she started to smile again. "And you deserve somebody that loves you like I did, because there's no better feeling than being in love."

Robby followed her eyes and he started to smile himself when he saw Tory. "Who would've thought, huh?" He said.

Odessa laughed. "I think it makes sense." She reached out and squeezed his arm, smiling kindly. She watched him walk off to be with Tory and Eli came in taking his place. "There you are."

"Here I am." He said back with a half smile. "How are you feeling."

"Well, my nose hurts, that's for sure." She replied and rubbed it. "Hopefully I won't need a nose job."

Eli chuckled.

"I can't believe we actually defeated Silver. For a minute, I was thinking we wouldn't."

"We can do anything." He stated and took a step closer to her. "You can do anything, Dess. You're like Superwoman."

Odessa smiled and laughed. "Does that make you my Lois Lane?" She teased.

Eli shrugged with a tiny smirk. "I'm whoever you want me to be."

"Oh, very smooth." She nodded and wrapped her arms around his neck. Smiling again, Odessa rubbed his cheeks with her thumbs, taking everything in. When she had a moment to breathe, she thought about everything they'd been through. All the heartbreak and suffering that led them to where they were now, complete and in love. "Thank you."

He titled his head. "For what?"

"Everything." She immediately said back. "Just. . .everything."

Slowly, Eli grew a smile and he kissed her, making a hundred little butterflies fly in her stomach. It was the same feeling she got when she first met him, the same feeling she would always get. "You're everything." He said to her, his eyes soft.

As many times as she thought it, and knew it deep down in her heart, no matter what they'd go through, the hard times and good times — they would always come out on top. Odessa kissed him again, smiling, and she didn't focus on anything else. Just them.

omg I can't believe I finisheddddd 😭 Eli and Odessa were my first Cobra Kai couple and to see them coming to an end is like seeing my children become adults. Odessa is so important to me and I'm so happy that she's become important to other people!!!
