On Monday, of course Aurora ignored me once again. I didn't talk to her for the rest of the weekend after I did on Saturday. She didn't come over at all. I didn't expect her to anyways.

In chemistry, I saw her and her new lab partner, of course it's Adam, laughing nonstop while we were doing experiments. I got a new lab partner. Her name was Katrina. She was super nice.

"So, I noticed that you are looking over at Aurora a lot.. Is there something between you two?" Katrina wondered.

"Well, we were best friends before she began to date Adam," I told her.

"Oh. She got all popular and left you. I see that a lot. Popularity gets to people's heads, and they forget about their real friends," she frowned.

"Did that happen to you?" I asked. She seemed to know a lot about it to just have seen it. It seems like she's lived it.

"Yeah. Adam was my best friend in preschool, up until middle school," her head fell.

"Really?"

"Yeah. He's turned into an ass since then," she talked into her lap.

"I've noticed.."

"He dates girls, fucks them, and dumps them."

"I just wish Aurora could see that. She believes he's the best boyfriend to her. She thinks he'll always be there, because that's what he tells her. She actually believes he loves her."

"I always feel bad for the girls he dates."

"Me too. Now my best friend is one of them."

"Hey, um, do you want to hang out sometime?"

"Sure."

"Just as friends, though. Just making sure you know that."

"Yeah," I laughed, "I have my eye on someone else now. No offense.."

"None taken. I know it's Aurora."

"How'd you know?"

"It's the way you talk about her. You'd be a way better boyfriend than that douche-face."

"Thanks, Kat."

"Kat?"

"Yeah, I thought that was, like, your nickname."

"It's not, but I like it."

"I just randomly thought of it. So everyone calls you Katrina, not Kat or anything for short?"

"People call me Katie."

"I like Kat better."

"Me too," she looked at me and smiled. I think I just made a new friend.

I sat alone at lunch again, just watching Aurora with Adam and the screw crew. Suddenly, I saw Kat coming towards me.

"Hey," she sat down beside me, "whatcha doing?"

"Just watching Aurora, Adam, and the screw crew."

"Screw Crew?"

"Oh, yeah.. I call his friends the screw crew because they screw-"

"I get it. It's pretty funny."

"Thanks."

I looked back over towards their table and saw Aurora looking at me. She slightly smiled at me, nodding her head towards Kat. I just smiled back at her, not motioning anything. She turned around, and I looked back at Kat, continuing to talk.

"What was that about?" She asked.

"I told Aurora that I like this one girl. She doesn't know it's her, so anytime she sees me with girl, she asks me if that is the girl I like. That's what she was asking me about you."

"Oh."

"I'll tell her we're just friends later."

"Okay. Good." (A/N: Plot twist: Calum ends up with Katrina haha jk)

I never realized how many classes of mine Katrina was in. She sat with me in Honor's English, where Aurora used to sit by me. We laughed the whole time. She would read something in the book, but she would say it in a weird voice. I loved it. She was hilarious.

In music, she was so terrible at playing the guitar that it was funny. She didn't know any chords, any notes even. I taught her a lot, and she was able to joke around at how bad she was. She was surprised at how good I was, too.

"Did you know I'm in a band?" I asked her.

"You are?"

"I am. With Luke and Michael. Our drummer is from a different school."

"Oh, yeah, I think I've heard something about you guys. 5 Seconds of Summer is the name, right?"

"Yeah."

"Do you play the guitar?"

"I normally play the bass. Luke and Michael both play guitar so I wasn't going to."

"That's really cool. I've never really been into playing music much. I just listen to it."

"I know a lot of people like that."

"I never really got into playing music when I was younger. I tried piano when I was really young, but I didn't like it."

"Playing music just isn't for some people. I get it."

"Yeah, people like me," she laughed. I laughed also.
