Chapter 24 - Jax David

June 8, 2013

Today we were going to the doctor's to find out the sex of the baby. I had no idea why, but I was nervous. Neither of us cared what it was. We had thought of a few names for each gender. We weren't sure on a name yet, though.

Once we found out it was a boy, Calum and I were elated. We went through the list of three names we had decided on choosing between. We both really liked Jax. That's what we're naming him. We decided to use Calum's dad's name for his middle name, David. I liked the name: Jax David Hood.

We went shopping lots for him. We had a flat together already. We were trying to get the nursery mainly ready today. I wanted to finish it before Calum left again in four days. I was hoped we'd have it finished because I didn't want to have to do the rest of it myself. I would need help with it.

I sent Eleanor a picture of all of the stuff we bought, most of it being blue. She responded with, "omg a boy!! What are you naming him?"

I told her what we were naming him. I finished texting her and, as if on cue, I heard a knock on the door.

I walked out to see who it was. It ended up being my parents. I invited them in. They wanted to know whether it was a boy or girl too. I led them into the nursery that was not yet finished. I showed them all of the this we had gotten and that we're still in bags. They were excited to have a grandson.

I thought it was great how at first, my parents were mad at me and disappointed in me, but now they're excited about it.

Calum's parents also came over, along with Mali. We told them too. They had the same reaction as my parents: their mouths flew open in excitement, and they hugged us.

That night, his parents along with my parents were gone. We sat in the living room on the couch, watching a random show. Calum placed a hand on my stomach. I looked over at him, and he smiled at me.

"My baby boy," he told me. I nodded.

"Oh!" I exclaimed when I felt him kick, "did you feel that?"

"I did," his smile grew.

"I think he likes you," I giggled.

"I think so too," he nodded.

After another five days, Calum had already left to go back on tour. When he got off the plane, he skyped me. I was glad to see that he was safe. I already missed him.

"I think Jax knows you're gone," I told him.

"Really?" He asked.

"He won't stop kicking," I groaned.

"Awe, baby.. I wish I could be there with you."

"And I think he knows I'm talking to you.." I held my stomach, "he's moving around so much."

"Baby, it'll be fine. I promise you."

"I hope. I don't like this."

"And I don't like knowing you're in pain."

"But I'm glad I'm talking to you," I smiled.

"Me too. I'm gonna miss you and Jax the next few months."

"And we're gonna miss you too. Tell the boys I don't miss them."

He chuckled, "I'll tell them."

"Good," I joked.

"So, babe, I'll miss you, I love you, and I'll talk to you later," he smiled brightly.

"I'll miss you too," I told him, "I love you.." He hung up.
