Chapter 21 - Coming Home
"I was going to see if he noticed my belly. I mean, if I wear a tight shirt, it's pretty obvious," I told her.
"Yeah," she agreed. I placed my hands on my belly.
"I can't wait until he comes home.." I frowned.
"I can't either," she smirked.
"What's that about?" I asked.
"Nothing. I have a surprise, that's it."
"What? Is it something once Calum gets home?"
"Yeah.." She bit her lip, not telling me more.
"Okay," I got excited.
I then fell asleep at about midnight, thinking about what her surprise would be. That's what I dreamt about. I woke up for a few minutes at about four in the morning. When I fell back to sleep, I dreamt that I was waiting for Calum to come on Sunday, but for some reason, he didn't show up. They other boys did, but they told me Calum was still in Europe.
I woke up from that dream, scared. I realized I was just dreaming and remembered I was in the hospital. It was about eight in the morning. Eleanor was sleeping beside me in the chair. I was so glad to have a friend like her. She was here with me for two months since I found out I was pregnant. I've been friends with her since the beginning of middle school, when we really first started to hang out. I couldn't believe it had been that long. She was such a great friend.
Eleanor began to wake up a few minutes after I did. I smiled at her. She asked me how I was doing and if I was okay.
"Yeah, I'm fine," I told her, "I just had a dream that Calum didn't come home.."
"Don't worry, Aurora. He's coming home."
"I know," I nodded.
I got up to go to the bathroom, making sure to keep the back of the hospital gown closed. I got into the bathroom and realized I was still bleeding. I was panicking. When I finished, I went back into the room and told Eleanor.
"We should tell the doctor about it.. I don't know if that is bad or normal.."
"I'm bleeding while I'm pregnant. I don't think it's normal," I told her, hitting the 'call nurse' button.
A nurse came in a few minutes later, and she asked us what was going on. I told her about the blood. She told me she'd put that down in my records for the doctor to see. She didn't tell me if it was normal or not to be bleeding a lot. I was bleeding yesterday and now I am this morning too? A little bleeding might be okay, but I wasn't sure about this.
"If you would like an ultrasound to show you that you're definitely not miscarrying, I can do that for you," she offered.
"I'd like that."
She left and brought in the ultrasound equipment. She started the ultrasound and I saw my baby, completely fine. She showed me a 4D screening as well. That was the first time I'd seen that. It was amazing.
I smiled, knowing that I wasn't miscarrying. I still had another eleven hours until I found out what was really going on. I thanked the nurse, and she left after cleaning the gel from my stomach.
Eleanor smiled at me as the nurse left. She was happy that I was happy. She was such an amazing friend. I had put her through hell last night and this morning, worrying her many times in the past twelve hours. She stuck with me, though, because that's what true friends do.

At noon, I took my phone off of 'do not disturb' to check it. Both my mum and dad had sent many texts. They included, "so you're not coming home!?!", "Aurora, you are going to school tomorrow!", "you better get home right now!", "you have me on do not disturb don't you!!", "you're so grounded when you get home!!!", "WHAT DID ELEANOR SAY ABOUT YOU NOT HAVING A HOME ANYMORE!!!??!"
"Yeah, Eleanor.. What is this about?" I showed her the last text.
"Oh yeah. I told my mum that if I told her where we were, that you might not have a home anymore if I goes to far, meaning your parents would kick you out."
"Eleanor! Why would you tell them that?"
"I believe I said something like.. 'If that information is given out, it could hurt the person you are trying to find in the form of not having a home anymore, so I am not able to tell you at this moment'. Something along the lines of that."
"That's why you're my best friend," I laughed.
"What about Calum?"
"My best friend that isn't my boyfriend."
"That's better," she giggled.
I had a better time after that. I knew that my baby was okay. It was so beautiful. I don't know how people could be so cruel to give up their child for adoption or aborting it. I could never do that, and the nurse had asked me about adoption or abortion when I went in for a scan one time.

*Eleanor's POV*
At five thirty that evening, I got a text from Calum wondering at what hospital we were at. He was just getting off of the plane. He came! I texted him directions and the room number.
Aurora saw me texting and smiling. She asked me what I was doing. I panicked. I told her I was just laughing at the texts my stepdad had sent me.
"Oh okay. What did he send you?" She asked.
"Just yelling at me, the usual."
"Oh god, Eleanor.." She laughed as well.
I just waited for Calum to show up. I couldn't wait for him to get here. Aurora would be so excited. She is going to be so surprised.
"I'm gonna sleep a little.. I'm tired," she laid her head back.
"O-okay.."
After another minute or two, I could tell she was asleep. Not even five minutes after she fell asleep, the door opened. There stood Calum. He closed the door and walked over to us.
He said hello to me and knelt down beside Aurora's bed. He studied her for a while before turning towards me to ask if she was okay.
"Is she alright? What's going on? Why is she in the hospital?" He asked worriedly.
"She's fine. I think she'd like to tell you what she's doing in the hospital, though.." I told him. He nodded, understanding.
He turned back towards Aurora and grabbed her hand. She began to wake up. Her eyes fluttered open. She saw Calum and was confused.
"Calum?"
