Chapter 20 - Calls

It took about two hours for them to get a doctor out to see Aurora. She was beyond scared after that amount of time. She had been waiting long enough. My mum had called too. She had asked me where she was.

When Aurora went in for testing, I took her phone in case her parents called. They ended up calling, so we made a good choice.

"Aurora? Why aren't you home yet? You've been at Eleanor's for two and a half hours! You missed dinner!" Her dad exclaimed into the phone.

"Hello, Mr. Starr."

"Why hello, Eleanor. I'm sorry about that. Could I please talk to Aurora?"

"Not at the moment."

"Where is she, and how long will it be until I talk to her?"

"I'm not sure how long it will be, but I'll call you back when she's available. Goodbye," I told him.

"Wai-" I hung up on him, but he called once more.

"Hello?" I answered.

"Eleanor, tell me where Aurora is and why she can't talk."

"Well, if I tell you that, she'll probably get grounded or kicked out of the house, so that information in not available at this time."

"Eleano-" I hung up again. I panicked about him calling again, so I put her phone on 'do not disturb'.

About five minutes later, my mum called on my phone. I thought that maybe Aurora's parents had called my mum and asked her to call me.

"Hey Eleanor.. Where's Aurora?" She kindly asked.

"She's with me," I told her.

"And where would that be?"

"About ten minutes away from the flat."

"And what would be that far away?"

"Where we are."

"And why would you be there?"

"Because I needed to bring Aurora here."

"And where would you need to take her?"

"Where we're at."

"Why would it be necessary for Aurora to be taken there?"

"Because she needs to."

"Why does she need to be there?"

"Something's wrong."

"What's wrong?"

"Something."

"And what would that something be?" She was trying to be as nice as possible without getting mad.

"The thing that's wrong with Aurora."

She sighed, "Eleanor Marie, just tell me where you are."

"If that information is given out, it could hurt the person you are trying to find in the form of not having a home anymore, so I am not able to tell you at this moment. Goodbye," I hung up, but I didn't put my phone on 'do not disturb' just in case Calum would call. My mum kept calling, but I kept declining. I hated this so much.

------

At about ten that night, Aurora still wasn't back. It had been at least two and a half hours since they took her for testing. Why would it take that long?

My mum finally got smart and began to text me. She was telling me that I needed to come home or tell her where we were.

"You need to come home and get to bed! You have school tomorrow!"

"ELEANOR MARIE I WILL TAKE YOUR CAMERA AWAY FROM YOU AND GROUND YOU FOR A MONTH IF YOU DO NOT TELL ME WHERE YOU AND AURORA ARE!!!" She texted.

"Fine, I'll tell you," I texted back.

She replied, "then where are you??"

I then sent, "I'm at the place where my car is parked..."

"ELEANOR MARIE!"

"I need to save battery in case of an emergency, so I'm putting my phone on airplane mode," I told her.

"YOU BETTER NOT!" I read before switching to airplane mode. That got rid of it.

I put my phone in my pocket before falling asleep on one of the hospital's waiting room's uncomfortable chairs.

------

An hour later, I woke up because the doctor came to me to tell me they had finished testing on Aurora, and they were about to begin to analyze the tests after they got her into a room. I wanted to see Aurora bad and ask her how she was. I asked him when I would be able to see her, and they told me that once they found a room and got her into it, they'd tell me and let me go in.

It took them a half an hour to get her into the room and tell me about it. The doctor gave me directions before heading off to begin to find the results.

After I got into Aurora's room, I began to talk to her about her parents and my mum. I also asked her know she was doing and about what they had told her already.

"I'm fine. They told me that they are pretty sure I'm not miscarrying, thank god for that," she smiled.

"Yeah. And I didn't tell your parents or my mum where we are. They don't know. They're worried, though," I handed her back her phone.

She nodded and took her phone off of 'do not disturb'. At least twenty calls and dozens of texts came up from her parents. I felt bad for not telling them, but I didn't want to tell them without asking Aurora first.

"We should've gone to a different hospital. This one is small, and they told me the results wouldn't be back for another twenty hours or so because they have to go to a bigger hospital farther away to get results," she informed me, reading her parents' texts, "it's stupid."

"Oh my god. We aren't going to school tomorrow, are we?"

"I'm not planning on it," she told me before putting up a finger to me. She was going to call her parents now.

*Aurora's POV*

My mum answered right away. The first thing she asked was if it was Eleanor or me. I just laughed to myself, thinking of what Eleanor had told them a whole ago.

"It's me, mum," I assured her.

"Where were you when your dad called you earlier? What is going on? Are you okay?" She fired.

"Mum, don't worry. I'm going to be fine. I won't be home until late tomorrow evening, though. I won't be able to make it to school either. Sorry."

"Are you at Eleanor's right now? Are you two going to ditch tomorrow? You know that doesn't work with me.."

"We're not going to ditch. I won't be allowed to go to school tomorrow. Don't worry, mum. I'll get a pass to go back to school after tomorrow."

"Why won't you be allowed? Are you sick or something? Who will you get a pass from?"

"Don't worry, mum. I've worked everything out. I'm going to go to sleep now. I'm really tired. You should get to sleep too. You have work tomorrow. Night, love you."

"Aurora Rose! I'm not going to not worry! What is going on? You're grounded if you don't tell me what's going on!"

"You might do worse if I tell you," I hung up. I immediately put it on 'do not disturb' so she could t do anything.

"Now she won't worry since I told her I'm alright," I told Eleanor.

"I better call my mum too."

She got out her phone and dialed her mum's number. I could tell her mum picked up right away because I heard yelling.

*Eleanor's POV*

I called my mum, and of course, she began to yell at me. She was telling me that I was grounded badly, and that she was going to take my camera away from me. The trick was on her, though. I had my camera locked in my desk. She didn't know where it was.

"Mum, don't worry about me. I'm completely fine, and so is Aurora. I won't be home until late tommorow night."

"Why? Are you going to school tomorrow? Or are you ditching?"

"I'm staying with Aurora. She needs me, and she isn't able to go to school tomorrow."

"I'm glad that you're being such a great friend, but you need to go to school. Why wouldn't Aurora be going?"

"She's not able to. I'm staying with her tomorrow, and I will be home late tomorrow night. I'll see you then. Get some sleep. Goodbye."

"But where are you?"

"I'm with Aurora, and we're both fine. That's all you need to know."

"Eleanor Marie!"

"Don't worry about me and get some sleep. Goodbye mum," I hung up and put my phone on 'do not disturb'.

I turned towards Aurora and rolled my eyes. She just laughed. I told her how my mum had been so protective of me since (A/N: spoiler alert! If you haven't read "Bruised Beauty - A Luke Hemmings Fanfiction", this gives away part of the story!!) my sister Peytlin died. She understood.

*Aurora's POV*

"What are you going to tell Calum? How are you going to tell him?" She asked. I had totally forgot about that. When I tell him I was in the hospital, he's going to be worried. What if he Skyped me tonight? Or if he does tomorrow? I'll just tell him I was at the hospital because I got food poisoning again? That'll work..
