Chapter 19 - Blood
April 16, 2013
I was now about twelve weeks pregnant. I had a cute little bump. It wasn't noticeable unless I had a tight shirt on, and that's why I don't wear tight shirts now. My parents, Calum's parents, or Alayna don't know yet. I haven't told Calum yet, but I think about it every time I talk to him on Skype. I can't bring myself to do it, though.
It was five in the evening, so I was at home and not at school, of course. I was just lying on my bed, thinking about wanting to call Calum. It would be eight in the morning there. I don't know if he's sleeping or not. If he's not sleeping, he's probably doing something with the boys. He doesn't just get up voluntarily this early to do nothing.
I've talked to Calum at least three times a week. Adam has been pissing me off a great deal lately. That's what I've been talking to Calum mostly about.
Eleanor has helped me a lot through the past two months with not having Calum. He will be home in five days. I can't wait. I'm going to tell him during his break. I want to wear a tight shirt around him. I want him to notice my stomach without me having to tell him. If he doesn't notice, I'll just have to tell him. I'm tired of keeping this from him. I think about it every time I Skype him.
I walked downstairs and asked my mum if I could go over to Eleanor's. She allowed me to, and I grabbed my phone before leaving.
I took off for Eleanor's and got there soon after. I said hello to her mum and step dad before going into her room. She greeted me as I walked in.
"Hey Aurora. What are you doing here?"
"I just came here to distract myself from calling Calum. I really want to tell him, but I still have five more days until he comes home. I'm not telling him until then."
"Why can't you call him. I'll be here. You can. Go ahead."
"I'm not telling him until his break. I've got to wait, and I can handle it. I just don't want to talk about it now. I came here to get it off my mind."
"Okay."
"So what were you doing before I came?"
"I was just thinking of what I was going to do when Luke came home. I can't wait to see him again."
"Me neither. I need to talk about something else though. What are you thinking about doing for this week's YouTube video?"
"I'm not sure. What do you think?"
"I'm not really sure either. But I'll be right back," I walked out of her room and into the washroom right across the hallway. My stomach was hurting.
Right as I was about to flush the toilet, I noticed there was blood in the toilet. What was going on? I couldn't be miscarrying, could I?
I washed my hands before running into Eleanor's room and bringing her over to show her what happened. Shocked, she flushed the toilet and grabbed my hand to take me out of the flat. She told her mum she'd be back in a while, and we left.
"I'm taking you to the hospital.." She told me and rushed me to her car.
*Eleanor's POV*
Aurora got into the passenger's seat of the car. I put her seat back so she was almost lying down. I ran around the car to get to the driver's seat and began to drive off. While Aurora was freaking out, saying, "oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god.." beside me, I called Calum, wanting tell him he needed to come home immediately.
When he didn't pick up, I left a message, "hey Calum, it's Eleanor. I'm calling to tell you that you need to come home immediately after you get this. I'm currently driving Aurora to the hospital, and we aren't sure what's going on. It would really help if you're there with her.. Bye."
After I ended the message, I thought of how I didn't tell him what was going on. Whoops.
*Aurora's POV*
Eleanor was calling someone, and I heard her muffled voice. I was too busy freaking out to listen to her conversation.
I was so scared. I didn't want to be miscarrying. I held onto my stomach, as if to protect the baby. I was breathing heavily, and I began to cry while still saying, "oh my god, oh my god, oh my god.."
*Calum's POV*
I woke up in the morning, and The first thing I did was check my phone, as usual. It told me I had a message from Eleanor, five minutes ago. I listened to the message and did what she told me. I left as soon as possible. I didn't know what was wrong with Aurora, and I was worried. I grabbed my suitcase and threw a couple things of mine in it before leaving a note and taking off.
I drove quickly to the airport, got on the next flight to Sydney, which was luckily not to long of a wait.
*Eleanor's POV*
About ten minutes later, we arrived at the hospital and I walked with Aurora in. She sat in the waiting room as I talked to the lady at the desk.
"My friend is twelve weeks pregnant, and she is bleeding," I explained.
"If you would just fill these out, we will take her in for testing," she smiled and handed me two papers.
I walked back to Aurora and she helped me answer the questions. Most were like, "are you on any medications?" or "state your allergies" or "any medical condition that should concern the doctors". After I finished, I took the papers to the lady and she asked me to wait until a doctor came out to see Aurora. I could tell Aurora didn't want to wait very much. She was so scared. I didn't know how much longer she'd handle waiting.
