39. Shattered Pieces

A hoard of sentimonsters were sent their way.

Marinette watched in awe at the true power that was created by the new owner of the Peacock miraculous. She knew it was true from her own experiences, but the way that the power grew and changed with age was incredible.

She fought alongside her sister, breaking the location that held each amok and watching them fade away as she de-evilized each little feather.

She found herself grateful for her age and experience. Not having to detransform so often was quite a relief.

Marinette looked around constantly, checking to see if Alix would pop out and save them like she usually did.

When she didn't, that made her wonder what new alarming foe was waiting for them in the future. Or was this it? Would he win?

Her eyes trailed towards her sister. You were quiet, oddly so. She could almost see the wheels turning in your head as you assessed the situation so thoroughly. She found herself wishing that it was you Master Fu had ran into all those years ago. You would have never let this happen.

**
"Where is she?!" Luka barreled through the front door of your apartment to find Zoe sitting on the couch, anxiously fidgeting with her fingers.

"I had a feeling you would come here first." She sighed, understanding why Jess had sent her out here to wait. "She's at the Eiffel Tower with Marinette. They have Adrien."

"Why did she go?" His question shot out but he already knew the answer. You were always there for your family when they needed it. Nothing would stop your from saving them.

"Damn troublesome woman." He was worried, so so worried as he ran at full speed towards the Eiffel Tower, hoping he would make it there in time to stop you from potentially killing yourself.

**
"Manon!" Adrien cried out again. He knew he wasn't going to get anywhere with negotiation with his cousin. The man was so far gone. He had been planning this for years. Desperately chasing the downfall of the Agreste family. "Stop him! I know you can! You guys are going to kill them if you don't stop."

Felix bent down and grabbed Adrien firmly by his hair. He lifted his head just enough so that his identical eyes would meet his own. "I should knock you out cold." He spat. "Maybe start worrying about your own life, that's what is at risk here."

True to his word, he let go of Adrien's head with a slam.

Felix watched, delighted as you and your sister managed to climb your way up the tower.

"Give him back."

You were there first.

Felix was delighted that you couldn't see him just yet. The pure anger on your face that he knew would blossom into the most beautiful flower when he revealed the truth about his identity and his partner's was intoxicating.

"Don't you want to hear how I did all this first?" He asked with that same, slug smirk he knew you absolutely despised.

"I don't give a shit, give him back dammit!" You charged towards him, Marinette barely missed grabbing your arm as you went for the man.

You stopped abruptly as your hand gripped the shirt of the man you despised. The man who hasn't even bothered transforming yet.

"Felix." You gritted your teeth together so hard that you were sure they would snap.

"Hello darling." He grinned. "Would you like to reconsider my question again?"

"We don't wanna hear it!" Marinette yelled as she stormed towards the two of you.

"Marinette dear, did you ever hear back from Anthony?" He asked with a daring smile. Marinette stopped, trying desperately to figure out how he knew that before he could say it. "Oh that's right." Felix paused.

"I stopped wearing that face a few weeks ago."

"You bastard!" You screamed, charging at him and throwing fist after fist. Felix dodged you eloquently—you were still inexperienced as a hero and it showed.

"What lazy skill you have my dear, at least you've got heart." His hand gripped your throat, raising you and throwing you to the ground.

The impact and your scream was enough to wake Adrien, who was now being held back by Manon.

You coughed out the blood that pooled due to the brutal hit to the head. "Give..." you coughed again. "Give him back you sick bastard!"

"I do love a good monologue so please refrain from speaking as I explain myself."

"Bastard."

"As you can clearly tell I am the nephew of Gabriel Agreste. Years after my father died I watched him and his son intently, I knew for so long about his identity." He stepped towards you, crouched down and stroked your cheek gently. "You took me by surprise my dear Y/n. My cousin always had what I wanted so when I found out he had you too I was absolutely livid."

"I would never be yours!"

"Do shut up, this is horrible for my ego." He sighed, pushing you back down. "Anyways I tried and tried again but simply nothing was working. I hated my uncle's pathetic usage of the miraculous. I only got serious when he threatened my life." He twisted the ring and you narrowed your eyes to see what he was getting at.

Adrien was standing up and Felix grinned as he twisted the ring on his right hand. "Sit back down Adrien." When the man complied he couldn't help but laugh. "I bet you were so used to hearing that weren't you Adrien?" His smile was manic now.

"All those times your dear old dad sent you away! All those times you had no choice but to listen to the master of your amok! How did it feel Adrien? Did you only feel the pure sadness of your mother when she was unable to have a child of her own? You were born out of grief and you will die with that sadness!"

"It's not true." Adrien shook his head, refusing to believe it. "I was just a good kid—I'm no sentimonster!"

Felix ignored him as he turned back to you and Marinette. "Anyways, I'm all over the place. I coordinated my attack with my lovely partner Manon just a few months ago. That's when I finally acquired Adrien's amok. That was the day I won battle one between you and I Marinette. All that time I spent with you as Anthony was to plot your down fall."

He stepped closer to her, reaching out his hand but she flicked her wrist and her yo-yo was wrapped around his.

"Clever trick." He smirked. "You used to bend so easily to my touch. What happened?" He mocked.

He smiled wickedly at the two of you. He swept his leg and knocked Marinette's feet out from under her. "Ah I love this. The fear in your eyes as you finally see the control I have over you. I've craved the power the two of you have. It's so eccentric and chaotic! You were the perfect targets."

His laugh echoed throughout the city and tower.

"Now, let's see you fly."

"What?" They whispered simultaneously as Adrien was ripped away from Manon's grasp and tossed off the Eiffel Tower.

"Adrien!" You screamed, activating your power and jumped off after him.

Time felt like it stopped.

Your fists were gripped at your sides as you willed yourself closer, and closer to him. You reached out your hand and he did the same—desperate to save each other.

His finger tips brushed yours.

You reached closer, you just needed to be a little closer.

You felt his fingers interlock with yours and you pulled him tightly against your chest. "I got you." You cried out as the two of you hovered in the sky, allowing the last seconds of your power to run out slowly.

Time was moving the same once more.

You could feel the steady best of his heart against your chest.

"Real." You whispered.

"I release you! From existence!" Felix yelled from the top of the tower.

Your eyes widened and you broke out into hysterics, gripping at Adrien's face as he held onto your waist tightly.

"Don't leave us! Don't—Adrien!" You screamed.

"I love you Y/n." He whispered. "Tell Dakota I loved him too."

And before you knew it, he was disappearing around you and the last thing you remembered seeing was a small white amok flying out of a small little ring.

Luka watched the entire thing, and he was the only one there to catch you once your power gave out and you fell to the ground.

Speed running to the end
