29. Accident and Introduction

Not long after Marinette's phone call, she left along with Jess to go make sure Zoe was actually on her way to the preschool.

You sighed, slumped over on your couch as you spun the beads on your anxiety ring in hopes of regaining your calm. You had only been alone for what felt like five minutes and you were drowning in dread.

Your eyes traveled towards the tv remote and you bit your lip hard as you resisted the urge to grab it. Before they left, Marinette and Jess had banned you from watching anymore celebrity news channels.

As annoying as they were, you knew they were right.

Cutting you off in the middle of your sigh, your doorbell rang.

You felt your entire body stiffen.

No one usually came by without texting first, and your friends had your spare key.

You tip toed over to your door and very quietly peeked through the tiny little circular window.

When you saw a head of blue hair your eyebrows furrowed and you slammed your door open. "Luka?!" You exclaimed and his smile only widened once he saw you.

"So the rumors are true!" He laughed as his arms raised.

Your brows furrowed harder as you tilted your head to the side. "Rumors? If you're talking about what's on tv, you already knew that and-"

"No!" He laughed as he cut you off. "Well—yes I did see that, but that isn't totally why I'm here."

"Right—speaking of which—how do you know where I live?!" You gasped as you pulled him inside, worried someone may see you standing there talking to him without your glasses on.

He stumbled as you shut the door behind him, though the smile never faltered. "I live in the studio at the top of this building." He grinned when your jaw dropped. "My neighbor saw you moving your stuff in and was very excited to tell me that we had a celebrity in the complex. I didn't want to bother you, but when I saw the news I figured I would stop by."

"So why are you grinning?" You asked with a grumble.

"Because you're actually here." His eyes softened and you quickly pushed away the bubbly feeling in your chest.

"Well what-fucking-ever." You spoke as you walked into your kitchen and poured yourself a freezing glass of water. "It doesn't change the fact that we don't know each other."

"What?" His head was tilted now, mimicking your expression from moments earlier.

"Well not on technical terms." You took a long sip. "We just have to pretend. It's not like Dakota should meet you."

"Why?"

"What are you dense!?" You groaned but immediately looked at him apologetically. "I don't think he would react well meeting a man from his mother while his father is in prison. I don't know if Adrien would appreciate that either-"

"Are you guys even together still?" He asked warily and your head shot up.

"Of course we are!" You exclaimed, though you weren't so sure where you stood with him yourself.

Luka threw his hands up in defense. "Just asking!" He laughed as he walked into your kitchen. "May I?" He asked as he motioned towards your cup cabinet.

You sighed as you leaned over your counter and rested your head in your hand, begging for him to leave internally. "Go for it."

Your eyes adverted towards him as you watched Luka shuffle through your tight kitchen to take care of everything he needed. Before you knew it he was standing mirrored to you and had a small smirk on his face as he sipped his water, slowly.

"What's so funny?" You snapped, growing quickly tired of the looming quiet and the sly smirk on his face.

He shrugged as he turned away again. Your eyes never tore away from his. "I'm just so amused that we're neighbors." You swore he snorted when he brought it up again.

"I'm moving out of the damn complex!" You shouted as you threw up your arms and stormed into your living room. Luka followed you, chuckling the whole way over.

An unknown location

"Welcome dear." His voice drew out. Nooroo stood exactly three feet above his master, waiting to be summoned.

Nooroo's eyes narrowed as he noticed the woman's mask was off this time. Her features were quite surprising since they looked oddly familiar.

Once more he desperately searched the woman over, looking for Duusu.

"Why haven't you transformed yet?" She snorted. "I'm telling you—you better get this moving. I'll take this brooch with me." Her eyes darkened and Nooroo noticed his master didn't flinch or stiffen at her threats.

"Sure." He nodded knowingly. "And once you do I'll hunt you down—I think we both know what I'll do once I find you." Before he could even process it, his master was before the girl with his fingers curled underneath her chin. His wicked grin never faltered as he tugged her face closer to him. "You work for me. Not the other way around. I would advise you not to forget that."

He released her and clapped his hands together as if he was dusting them off.

Enraged, she stood before him but he simply shook his head. "Don't make me warn you again."

"Let's get this started—shall we?" His smirk grew.

**

"When are you leaving?" You whined as you sprawled yourself across your couch.

"I have offered to leave multiple times, but each time I tried you refused to let me go." Luka spoke simply as he scrolled through the mass chaos of feed on his phone.

He has just gone through another two week period of radio silence. He had finished crafting six guitars—record time for him. His clients had tried to message him but he had missed them completely.

"Well—!" You were flustered and unsure why. "What if some damn stalker finds where I live and I'm here alone?" You offered, finding the concern completely logical. "Who will protect me then?"

"The miraculous." He shrugged.

Your eyes widened. "Excuse me?" You laughed nervously.

"You have Adrien's miraculous—don't you?" He asked and you wanted to kick him in the face for speaking in his stupid calm voice.

"Adrien doesn't have a whatever you just said." You tried your hardest to sound like an idiot but the look on his face showed you were failing. "How did you know?" You conceded.

"Do you remember the victim Wishmaker?" He asked.

You nodded dully. "Well—I'm Viperion." He ignored the shocked looked on your face because really, it was obvious and you should've figured it out by now. "During that mission your sister and Adrien's identity were revealed to me." He was speaking cautiously because he remembered how horrible the day after that was.

"That's why..." you whispered. "Why you were so worked up while we wrote."

Luka sighed. "Yeah."

Your mind was spinning and you noticed your vision go in and out of focus. Everything you felt that day came back to you, everything suddenly felt put into place. "You didn't tell me." You whispered.

Luka shook his head. "You know I couldn't have—I would have endangered all of you."

You twitched. "I know! But still—you could have at least given me some warning or something! Maybe then things would have been-" you stopped yourself before the last word could escape your mouth.

"Is that really what you would have wanted?" He whispered, eyes darkening as they bore into you. "Would you have wanted things to have been different, knowing the truth?"

"I-"

You were interrupted by the squeals of a young boy fidgeting with the door knob.

Alarmed, you pulled Luka by the arm and shoved him into the closet. Just as he was about to make a joke you slammed the door in his face.

"Mommy!" Dakota yelled as he came barreling towards you. You let out a sigh of relief as you embraced him. You had hidden Luka right on time, and it was the best feeling to know you could protect your son again.

Marinette shut the door, breaking you out of your trance.

She gazed at your still frazzled appearance and tilted her head to the side. You motioned your head towards the closet door and mouthed 'Luka' as you released your son.

"How was school?" You asked him, trying to work him into the back room.

"It was so much fun!" As Dakota began to list off all the things he did at school, you noticed your sister's eyes go wide.

There was a loud crash outside of your apartment. You scrambled towards Dakota and wrapped your arms around his head as the sound exploded once again. Marinette jumped towards the window. "Holy shit-" she began.

"What?!" You yelled as there was another crash.

Dakota was sobbing in your arms, completely confused and much more afraid since you were.

"It's—Its an akuma!"

As the words left her lips your eyes widened in complete terror.

The new owner of the moth miraculous had struck again—and the power he held was horrendous.

**

"Where did Zoe and Jess go?!" You hissed as you held your son on your hip as you paced around the room.

"I don't know!" She groaned as she paced the room with you, tugging on the skin underneath her eyes.

"You need to get out there." You reminded her and she nodded knowingly.

"Yeah—but I need you!"

The memory of your first night in Paris struck you hard.

"Luka." You whispered as you turned towards the closet door. It opened slowly and Dakota began to scream.

"Mom!" He screamed as he covered his eyes. "There's a man with weird hair in the house!" He cried.

You couldn't help but laugh softly as you set him on the ground and hugged him. "No baby—this is mommy's friend Mr. Luka." You smiled as you looked him in the eyes and rubbed back his hair. "Mommy needs to help Aunt Marinette save the world okay? Will you stay with him?"

"How are you guys going to save the world?" He asked with a shaky voice.

"It's a secret." You grinned with a finger to your lips.

"I like secrets!"

You eyed your sister who shook her head softly. "We'll tell you all about it when we get back, okay?" You asked with a soft smile. "Will you show him your books?"

Dakota nodded rapidly, and turned towards Luka. Your breathing as shaky as you turned towards your sister. Before you could speak there was a abrupt tug on your leg and as you stumbled you saw your boy hugging your leg. "I love you mom—you're my hero."

With that he grabbed Luka's hand and pulled him into his room.

"Are you sure you want to do this? I could always ask An-"

"No." You whispered. You of course wanted to stay with your son and make him feel safe. Of course you did. You wished Marinette could just find a way to trust Luka with the miraculous, but you wanted your son to keep seeing you that way.

You always wanted to be his hero.

"I want to do this." You smiled at your sister who sighed in relief.

She transformed and took out her yo-yo. She opened it and through the pink light she pulled out Adrien's miraculous.

"I think I can save the whole speech I give." She smiled gently.

You took the ring and slipped it on your finger. Out spun your favorite little friend. "Y/n!" Plagg grinned as the two of you did your little handshake.

"Good to see you buddy." You smiled as another explosion went off. "There's chaos again—new Hawkmoth and all that. Think you can lend me your power?" You asked with a smile.

He couldn't help but laugh. "Just when I thought I was going to get to lounge with my cheese. All you have to say is 'Plagg—Claws out."

You grinned. "I promise I'll have a piece of camembert for you when it's all over."

"You better!"

"Plagg! Claws out!"

**

The two of you dashed down the street, following the crippling sound of the explosions.

"DIE!" You heard a loud voice screech.

"What the hell?!" Marinette shrieked.

Your hand shot up to your mouth as you stifled your laughter. "Holy shit!" You exclaimed. "He looks like Katsuki Bakugou!" You doubled over in laughter.

"Y/n!" She snapped. "This is serious. He may look like your dumb show but he is setting off actual explosions!"

The severity of the situation hit you once more. "Right. Sorry. I'm ready now."

"Alright Explosion, I gave you the power of your beloved character. Now show me what you're made of."

"Yes—Hawkmoth."

You extended your stick and flew towards the villain. As you swung, they met your stick with their gauntlets adorned on their arm.

"Wow! I can't believe how accurate your akumatization was!"

"Oh shut up you moron!"

"You even talk like him too!" You kicked out the villain's feet from under them.

You pinned them to the ground as Ladybug called her lucky charm. "Now where is your akuma hiding?" You asked as you searched the victim for any differences in the character design.

Your eyes widened as you found it and they kicked you off. "Ladybug! The necklace!" You shouted as the two of you chased after the villain.

Ladybug chased after them with her lucky charm in tow, once used she tossed the necklace to you. "Now Ladynoir!" She called and you cringed at the name as you caught the necklace.

"Cataclysm." You grinned as the necklace shattered and she purified the butterfly.

You walked over to the victim as the purple magic faded away. On the ground left a small girl panting for air. She had long brown hair with red streaks on the bits of hair by her ears. You crouched down and noticed her anime shirt, and as she saw you looking she pulled her jean jacket tighter around her to hide the print, looking away bashfully.

"Hey! No need to be embarrassed." You smiled and she looked over at you with wary eyes. "I personally love that show. I couldn't begin to tell you my amazement when I saw Kacchan flying through the air."

The girl giggled. "I was just watching the fight scene between him and Deku. I love Bakugou—I just wish my enjoyment and frustration for the show hadn't turned evil." She sighed, pulling at the sides of her hair.

You stood and extended your hand down to help her up. "I wish it hadn't either. We'll try our hardest everyday to ensure you and the rest of Paris is free from evil." You swore to her with your hand on your heart.

The teen smiled and nodded at you. "What's your name?" Ladybug asked as she walked over to the two of you.

"Alexis."

"Well Alexis I can't guarantee this will protect you perfectly, but it should at least keep you safe while we find the new Hawkmoth." She placed the orange, green, and black charm in her hands.

"Thank you Ladybug. I have so many questions about the new Hawkmoth—do you have a minute? I have been writing about the case and Gabriel Agreste in my book but now that I know there is a new Hawkmoth I'm more interested in that!"

"We'll uh—keep you updated. Keep going on that story okay?" You chuckled as you patted the girl on the shoulder. "I'll take you home."

***

"Thank you for staying with him." You stood in front of your door to your apartment as Luka was readying to leave.

"Anytime Y/n. He is a super cool kid." He grinned.

You laughed. "Yeah, he really is. He seems to love you he already is beginning to tell me about the show you showed him."

Luka laughed. "Ah yes, sorry about that in advanced." He grinned as he walked off, waving.

"What? Luka—what did you do?" You called.

"Good night Y/n!" He called back as he ran up the stairs.

"Damn you Luka—for whatever you did!"
