‡ Chapter 1 ‡

"Mmhhhh~<3  Osaka air is nice~" the youngest of the four boys that got off the plane stretched happily and looked around.  "♪ I can get your heart beat beat-beat-beatin' like

I can get your heart beat beatin' like that~  ♪" he sang, his golden hazel eyes sparkling happily.

"♪ You know you got my heart beat beat-beat-beatin' like- ♪" another taller boy put his arm around the other boy's shoulder and started singing too until they were abruptly cut off.

"OI!" an angry girl stepped out of the plane and yanked the two taller boys by the ear.  "Sean!  Tae Kim!  I told you!  No singing songs in public before they're released!" she growled, her blue eyes flaming with annoyance.

"Itai! Itai! Itaii!" the two taller boys flailed under their punisher.  "But, we can't help it, Mikawa-dono," the younger boy Tae Kim gave puppy eyes to the older woman as she held on tightly to their ears.  "After all, we can't but help sing the best songs that we just learned from the best song writer~~~♪"

The ravenette blushed immensely, slightly taken aback, but the look on her face remained.  "Don't think you can just get out of this by flattery even if it was a good song," she yanked harder on his ear.

"I-Itaiii!!!  S-Sorry, Mikawa-dono!!!" the Korean wailed.

"Seriously, they're always so noisy," the tallest of the four boys sighed, running his fingers through his unnaturally dark blue hair.

"Mh, it's okay for them to be excited, Daichi.  They haven't been in Japan before," the blond leader stepped down onto ground level from the plane.  "After all, it's my homeland.  Therefore, they should be excited!" he pointed his finger into the air.  "But my first hometown is Kyoto~"

"Sheesh, you always have to make a grand entrance, don't you, Sora?" Daichi just shook his head.

"You guys are making too much noise again," another agitated blonde stepped out of the plane and fixed his glasses as he pulled out a cigarette.  "Annoys me."

Everybody went silent.  "S-Sorry, Yamaha-sama," everybody murmured.  Of course, scary manager Yamaha-sama always gets his way.  Otherwise trees and cars would go flying.

"Now, where is that hotel again, Skyla?" Kiku Yamaha turned to face the shorter girl beside him.

"Mh, our ride should be here!" she chirped with a mock salute as she pointed to the limo standing by.

"Yeah!!!  I call the jacuzzi in the back!" Tae Kim immediately ran into the limo.

"There's no limo in the back, Tae-kun..." Skyla sweatdropped.  "Wait a minute, where did Sora go?"

The other three teens and their boss turned to look at the band's leader, but he had vanished.

"Well, he did mention something about visiting some old friends," Daichi's blue eyes scanned the horizon.

"Of all times," Skyla smacked her forehead.  "Well, he should be fine..."

The brunette on her bed carefully finished the last touches on her laptop and held it in front of her to admire her work.  Headphones on, her hazel eyes scanned at the pictures she had taped onto the cover of the laptop as she hummed to the song on her set.  "♪Cuz what you've got is Go-o-old, I know, you're gold, Go-♪"

Her song was abruptly halted and she looked up, annoyed.  "Oi, Toru, what was that for?" she barked at her older brother who stood there, holding her headphones in his hand.

"Shouldn't you get ready for school, Kuhei?" the demanding older brother's gaze was fixed on her with slight dissatisfaction.

"Today's a holiday," Kuhei retorted, reaching out for her headphones which Toru kept away at an arm's length.  "Relax."

Toru just gave a small hint of a smile.  "Did you hear that Sora's back?" he asked.

"Mh, yeah, so what?" Kuhei lazily hung her head off her bed as she laid back and stared disinterestedly at her older brother.

"Aren't you going to scout him out and say hi or anything or be a girl for once who cares?!" Toru yelled, pulling her off the bed.

"Don't do that to me, Toru-nii!  You know I can beat you, too!" Kuhei hissed with a sly grin, reaching out for his arm.

Suddenly the door flew open.  "You two!" a man's voice bellowed.  "What in the name of tarnation are you doing?  Are you guys fighting again?"

"A-Ah!  G-Grandfather!" the two siblings immediately ceased and stood at attention.  "We weren't doing anything!"

"Hmph, like I would believe that," the silver-haired man squinted at the two, waving his hands around.  "You two need to learn how to behave!  How old are you two?  Toru, you're going to college!  Kuhei, you're supposed to grow into a lady!"

Both Toru and Kuhei could feel their faces growing red from slight embarrassment.  "Sorry, Grandfather...we won't fight again..." they meekly mumbled.

"Hmph, I doubt it, but keep it down.  I'm trying to watch some new drama," Grandfather walked out of the room.

"That was close," Toru sighed in relief, glancing over at his younger sister.

"That was your fault," was the curt reply as Kuhei picked up her headphones and set them on the desk facing the window.  "And besides, knowing Sora, he's probably busy with his band and whatnot."  She paused at the window, staring out.

An uncomfortable silence settled in.  Toru walked over to Kuhei and placed his hand gently on her shoulder.  "Unsure?"

"No...It's more like..." Kuhei laughed dryly, "It's more like, I'm just waiting."

"Sheesh, well, when are you going to meet up with him?"

Kuhei grinned humorlessly.  "Sah, who knows?  Maybe it'll be a coincidence again..."

Meanwhile, the blonde who was MIA was currently making his way through the mall, sunglasses and hat on.  "Hooh~  So this place hasn't changed that much at all," he whistled under his breath and continued to stroll through the mall to the south entrance.  Since it was the easiest short cut to his destination, Sora took it, even though he knew the risk of his personality being exposed.  After all, once a man of convenience, always a man of convenience.

"Excuse me," the handsome blonde suddenly accidentally bumped into someone, and posters went flying.  As he reached out to grab the girl's arm before she fell, his sunglasses slipped off.  'S-Shoot...'

"A-Ah!  Oh!  Thanks," the girl bubbled uneasily.  "I'm so sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going, and I'm such a total clutz, so-"  She suddenly paused to take a breath and gape at the good-looking teen who had caught her.  "Y-Yo-Yo-You're...You're So-" she started to squeal until Sora quickly covered her mouth with his free hand.

"Please...I'm trying to go incognito," he gave her a charming smile as he pleaded through his teeth.  The girl just nodded her head up and down excitedly.  "Now, let's get these posters, and I'll go on my way," he started to help her pick up the posters scattered around.

Well, she's not bad...at least she hasn't said anything yet... Sora thought with a small smile, but as soon as he turned back to face her, he saw her with her phone out.  Shoot.  A flash of light temporarily blinded him as the girl squealed.  "N-Not good," the blonde sweatdropped and high tailed it out of there as other customers and passerbyers turned to see what the commotion was.

Yamaha-sama was definitely going to get his hide...

"Eh, Nyoko, I don't feel like it," Kuhei mused, cradling her phone on her shoulder as she started to fold the blankets on her bed.  "I have to help Grandpa with some of his company papers and whatever."  Plopping down, the brunette began to expertly twist her hair into a tight bun.

--"BUUT!" the voice at the other side of the line argued.  "Someone who knows Lyra that texted Hibiki and Joyce-"

"Just get to the point," Kuhei sat down on the floor, crossing her legs.  "You know I don't really like the hustle and bustle of crowds, especially the mall."

--"Someone spotted the leader of reMANant!!!  You know?  The band?  The leader Sora K.!!!  Oh my gosh, I just have to see him!!!" Nyoko fangirled.

Kuhei sat up straighter.  "Someone saw Sora?"

--"Eh~?  I thought you weren't interested in boys, Kuhei-chann~"

"That's besides the point," Kuhei slipped on her jacket.

--"Haha, I won't judge~  Anyways, meet up with me in front of that really cute butler cafe, m'kayyy~?" Nyoko chirped.

"Of all places," Kuhei muttered as she hung up and grabbed a beanie and jammed it over her hair.  Her mahogany hair had long grown since her childhood, but she still had that slender boy figure that was neither a curse nor a blessing in Kuu's deep chocolate eyes.  "Grandpa, I'm going to go to the plaza to meet a friend, if that is all right with you," she called over her shoulder as she passed by his office.

"Have fun, child," was the reply he barked.  Grandfather never really was a man of many words in the first place, so Kuhei headed out.  "Buy me some egg rolls on your way back."

“Me too,” Toru called from his room next door.

"Yes, sirs," Kuhei gave a mock salute and went to the front door to pull on her comfortable boots.

===

"Maan, Yamaha-sama is going to kill me, and so is Mikawa-sensei," Sora sighed, slipping his phone into his jean pocket.  It was already close to lunch, and he was pretty sure everyone else was just lounging around at the hotel (thanks to the sneak peek he got of Mikawa-sensei's impeccable schedule earlier) eating lunch.   Speaking of lunch, the blonde gulped at the sound of a low growl nearby.

Oh.  It was just his stomach.

"No, I have to find Kyuu first!" Sora flailed.  "Besties before munchies!"  Don't ask where he got that from.  Only someone like Sora would have made up something weird like that.  He took off running towards a plaza that seemed vaguely familiar.

"Haha, Kyuu wasn't kidding.~  This plaza has a maid café and a butler café...weird~" Sora recalled the last email Kuhei had sent a week ago.  He blinked slowly, his grey eyes slowly taking in the scenery.  There weren't that many people here...just a couple by the fountain, some girls walking into a store, and a boy wearing a hat in front of the butler café.

Wait.  What's a boy doing in front of a BUTLER café anyways?  That was a boy...right?

"That can only mean one thing..." a grin slowly formed on the blonde's face.  "Kehehe...who ever thought it was going to end up this way?  This time, I'll do the scaring and surprising!"

The blonde superstar crept behind a bush nearby to sneak up on his best friend.  Popping out of the bush, he yelled, "KYUUUUU!!!!" and headbutted the girl from behind.

The supposed girl who looked like a boy.  Who was a boy.

"W-What the h-" the surprised brunette knocked out on the pavement.

"Oh sh-" Sora's gorgeous silver eyes opened wide.  This wasn't Kuhei.  This was DEFINITELY not Kuhei.

"Now, let's see...is the attacker going to make it a hit and run~?" a voice mused behind the pale blonde, walking up to his side.  "After all his hard work, the star once again fails in his attempt to become a ninja."

Sora slowly turned around, not believing his ears.  There was only one person who would narrate in such a boring tone like that while sounding gleeful at the same time.  And he was right the second time.

"Kyuu..."

"...You blonde idiot.  Welcome back~"

...Why did my heart suddenly start beating faster?

====

A/N:  I-I'm such a horrible person...I made you all wait so long...but I love you all, so please, GOMEN.  Accept my apology, p-please...

...

Ah, thank you, I feel better~  Now, the two in the pic are...close to what Nyoko and Kuhei would look like...yep!  Even though Nyoko looks like she's really pristine and mature, she's a fangirl and a weirdo inside.

FYI:  I don't own the songs, I only own the actual characters (not what they're based off) and the storyline.

With love and alls~
