1.5 / 3 = HER SMILE AND HAPPINESS

Both of them were sitting in (Name)'s living room for some 'bonding time' suggested by the green bundle of joy. Of course, she lightly complained but complied to the boy's wishes nevertheless. The white-haired boy was annoyed and happy about this. Why? He doesn't know the answer himself but he just felt it.

"About Gon," Killua started, drawing all over the math equations that were needed to be answered.

(Name)'s ears perked up at the name of her best and childhood friend. "What about Gon? Don't tell me he's been causing trouble when I was gone?" Her expression turned into an annoyed one, but it looked like she wasn't serious about it. "Wait, why am I asking you? You would do the same," she pinched the bridge of her nose in remembrance.

He seemed a bit offended and confused from the awful feeling when she said someone else's name that he would be compared. "What do you mean?!" He complained, slamming his hands down on the table. "I'm not an idiot like him! Even if he is smart in his own way!" He quickly added to not fully offend the boy not present.

"'Not an idiot?'" The (Hair Color)-haired girl snorted, "yeah, sure. Say that again once you finished coloring your assignment, snowball." She stifled some laughter at all the scribbles drawn all over his book.

The ex-assassin huffed away. "At least I didn't get myself locked inside a classroom." He faced her with that creepy cat face of his that... actually made him cute and unique. Of course, admitting it would boast his self-esteem so she held those words back and glared at him.

"For the last time! It wasn't my fault! They didn't wake me up or say anything that I was supposed to leave!"

"Then you're admitting that you fell asleep in class? And here you tell me that I'm irresponsible."

Wanting to avoid an argument, he continued what he was about to say. "But about Gon. How long have you two known each other?" Raising a brow, he pulled one leg closed to his chest while the other dangled off the edge of the couch. "From how you guys acted, you guys almost act like a couple." Something inside of him crack from that simple statement.

Blushing, "r-really!? People thought we were that close?" (Name) blushed, surprised from the information. "I never really thought that people saw us like that." She scratched her head, drinking in all of the information. "We've known each other ever since preschool, I guess. We're just best/childhood friends is all." She hoped that he wouldn't tease her and Gon about this. In fact, she felt a bit relieved and weirded out that he didn't bring that topic up.

Killua felt a small weight lifted from his heart and shoulders as a breath of relief exhaled from his lips. Good.

"Why're curious Killua?" She inquired.

He stared. "Nothing. I was just surprise that you found someone who liked you."

The answered peeved her with an irk mark growing on her head. "Excuse me? I'd have the chance with someone unlike you anytime, any day." She smirked proudly.

It was the silverette's turn to snort, "yeah right."

"Hah!?"

"You heard me."

"You're doubting me!?"

"Well... If what you're saying is true, why don't you have one? Huh?" He rose his brow expectantly.

Instead of a snarky remark or an angered/annoyed retort, he only received a light shrug. "Actually, I'm not interested in love at the moment. And if I was interested, it'd just be a small crush but that's it." She looked away, arms crossed as she leaned against the back of the soft furniture. A pillow suffocating from her 'deadly' embrace.

Her answer intrigued Killua once again. "And why's that?"

Amusement danced around her face. "Why are you all of a suddenly interested in my love life, huh?"

He narrowed his blue hues, "if you don't wanna answer, then don't."

"Geez, you're such a killjoy, aren't you?" Sarcastically laughed the (Hair Color)-nette.

The thin line on her face curled down. "Actually, it's just because I find relationships... too difficult to manage at the moment. Especially since I still missed some work- what are you laughing about?" She was feeling her irritation bloom just by seeing the boy stifling his own laughter.

"I can't believe..." his cheeks were puffed out from holding his giggles back. "Don't you dare..."

"That having a relationship..."

"I'm warning you, you lil' sh-"

"...is harder than becoming a hunter!" He couldn't contain his laughter as it burst from his throat sooner than later. What am I doing? He was gonna do this whether I stopped him or not, she shook her head at the inevitable but continued, "yeah yeah. Laugh all you want. Everything I'm saying is true. I wouldn't want some cliche drama to distract me from my job and make me fail the hunter's exam because of it. Besides, I'm not interested in the idea."

Killua finished his outburst, wiping away his tears of joy. "I guess that's true."

"How about you?"

"What about me?"

"Why aren't you dating anyone? With those hordes of fan girls, I was sure you'd have at least one."

"Oh~ Is someone interested?" He raised his brows suggestively at her, making her turn away from merriment, a hand over her mouth. He looks so ridiculous and cute than what he's trying to be! "Hey! I thought you wanted to know?!" Her (Eye Color) eyes met his own blue ones again, keeping the small specks of amusement from sparkling along with her laughter. "Continue."

He sighed, "well, I'm also not interested in these kinds of things. I was taught that an assassin aren't capable of love and hate." This caught (Name)'s attention. "But you're an ex-assassin now, so you should be able to have a mind of your own without their teachings, right?"

She seemed generally concerned for him. Worry tinting her eyes as if she was the one at fault for bringing the topic up for him. He tensed a little as the conversation got deeper. "Kinda. I don't believe in it anymore. I don't like my family that much except for some like my sister Alluka and a girl name Canary." It felt nice to tell someone he could speak to willingly.

Her form relaxed and her eyes gleamed with more inquisitiveness. "They sound like wonderful people if they're the only people in your home that you could truly trust," she relieved.

His eyes narrowed slightly, fixated on her with a tiny smirk. "Why are suddenly curious about me?"

She didn't seem to hear the teasing in his voice as she answered, "I don't know. The first time I saw you during the day I returned, even though your eyes held annoyance, they looked very dull and empty. A kind of loneliness maybe." Her voice faded away slowly once she finished. His eyes no longer holding mischief once he took a glance at her harrowed expression.

He didn't know the reason at first why seeing her this way brought a frown on himself, but his chest felt like he was stabbed by an invisible knife he was unable to dodge from. And that'd take a long time, or never, for that chance to ever happen. Especially to a Zoldyck. He couldn't stop thinking that he was at fault for her gloominess.

Something in his mind clicked before standing from his position, averting the girl's dampened gaze to him when he gleamed her a soft smile he would hardly give anyone. She remembered how Gon said it was quite rare to see like a blue moon. She felt a bit taken back by it too. Why did he show it to her among all people is the question? But-

"Hag."

She sent him a face that could sent others running. "What the fuck did you just call me!?" Her expression was still a bit dim but her eyes were now blazing in different colors of frustration. He just shook his head. "If you don't want me to look at you with pity and be sad and that darn crap, don't do it to me too," he explained.

"Of course. But did you have to call me a hag!?"

"Maybe..."

"You little-"

His eyes sparkled, "hey! Do you wanna see my nen's special power?"

Despite the small rage she had, her face lightened up before a smile painted itself on her face, bringing butterflies back into his stomach. "Yeah. I guess I'd like that."

He didn't want to see her sad. He made it his goal to keep her happy and smiling, mostly when it's coming from him. That was something he would fight for.

Seeing her frown like before and now would be the mistakes he'll use to help her.

He made a vow to himself.

If anyone was to make her smiling like this, it's him. Just him.
