Rain pours down onto an empty street, no cars in sight as the pitter pattern of the rain is the only sound that can be heard. Sitting alone in a tree is a young boy that seems no older than ten, his legs slightly swinging as he sighs. His ocean blue eyes narrow, lost in thought as the rain comes down. Family and a home is what clouds his mind, a hopeless smile on his face as he imagines a life in someone's arms. 'What a silly thought..' He thinks to himself as he shakes his head. 'I can't do that, I'm a freak remember?' He lowers his eyes, his blue tail quickly swaying below the branch along with his legs. 'I should head back to the cave shouldn't I?' He asks himself before throwing his legs up into the air and tumbles to the ground backwards. Just as fast as he came crashing down, the boy floats up into the air, his blue ears up on his head slightly twitching to the water pouring down. Then off he goes, floating away back to the woods, looking back at the town only once before quickly looking ahead again so he can focus on getting to his "home". The boy lands in front of a dim lit up cave as he quickly runs inside to shelter from the rain, a small frown on his face as he rings out his tail. 'At least I can return to this everyday.' He thinks to himself, picking up the soft pillow that laid on the cold floor. 'Too bad I have no one to share this with..no one to welcome me or sing me to sleep.' He sits down on the ground, wet and alone as he looks down. He holds onto the pillow tight before setting it down on the ground and lays his head on it, curling up in a ball. Happy memories of laughter and love fills his mind as he lays there, a small smile spreading across his face as he hugs onto the pillow. A memory of a lovely lady petting his head comes into mind, her beautiful voice sending him a warm happy feeling everytime he hears it..so simple but full of love. Every night it grows further and further away from his dreams but this night he could hear it just perfect..those words, those TWO single words.
