Dear (Y/N),

It's been so long since I last got the chance to hold you in my arms. I can't help thinking of all of the things that we had the chance to do together. From the way that we danced through the kitchen while trying to cook to the way that we would snuggle into each other while watching our favorite movies to the way that we would terribly sing our song at the drop of a coin. I really wish I still had it in me to listen to (I Just) Died in Your Arms by Cutting Crew. I can't help but cry every time that I listen to it. Anyway, I wish we had more time together before you were ripped from my arms.

After all of the pain that you went through, after all of the struggles that you faced, you deserved so much more. Life just isn't fair. Although it's been months since I last saw you, I cannot stop myself from thinking about you. I really wish that I could have done more for you before the world took you for its own.

(Y/N), I miss you more than I ever though would be possible. I guess I really did love you more than I was ever to put into words, just as you always made fun of me for. I just wish I had the courage to ask you to be mine before it was all too late. If only everything had ended differently and I still had the chance to hold you in my arms instead of crying over the memory of you.

I'm sorry I couldn't do anything for you. I'm sorry that everything ended the way that it did. I'm sorry I couldn't do more for you. I'm sorry I couldn't stop anything. I'm sorry I was no help to you in your final moments. I'm sorry for not doing everything that I should have done for you. I'm sorry that it all ended this way.

I'd just like you to know that I still love you, and I'm pretty sure I always will. You were the best thing that has ever happened to me, even as cliche as that is. I know I used to make fun of you for being over dramatic and cheesy, but I think I have the right to do that in your place now.

Every moment that I spent with you was the best moment of my life, even when that moment was more stressed than others. Even from the times we got mad at one another to the times that we just had a long day, I loved every moment of it all, well, minus the part of actually being mad at one another. I can only wish that I had the chance to have more time with you, but it's too late for that now.

(Y/N), I still think my favorite memory of you was when we were watching movies at your house. Your parents were gone so we didn't have to worry about laughing too loud or anything of that sort, but there you were, quoting every single line of that movie. The passion you had in your eyes burned like my love for you. It was rather funny to see you try and sing along with the music as well, especially because your voice was tired and continuously cracked. You never seemed to get embarrassed over that and continued to let it happen.

Anyway, you were my world. You were the the brightness that I needed on my dark days. You were the warmth that I needed when I was cold. You were the clarity I needed in my times of confusion. You were the questions asked to the answers I had. You were my everything even when I had nothing.

Thank you for being you even until your last moments. Thank you for always putting a smile on my face even when all I want to do is cry my eyes out, like right now. As sad as I am, I can't help but smile at the thought of all of the things we did together, but once again I'm sorry. Lucas, you're the best thing ever, thank you for everything.

Love,

Jeongin

Setting the letter down on his desk, Jeongin took a moment to let his tears fall onto the paper before trying to wipe them away with his sleeve. The ink on the page began smudging as his tears hit the paper, making the page seem as if it was bleeding as much as his heart was. Even though his heart had shattered, a soft smile couldn't leave his face.

After a moment of trying to collect himself, he gave up and shuffled to his closet. He grabbed a small box from the top shelf and held it tightly in his hands. It was the box that held the ring of which he was going to use to propose to his lover. He slowly sank to the floor and clutched the small box to his chest. It didn't take long for his body to slowly give up, for his nerves had seemingly gone numb. Each sob that wracked his body was as rough as sandpaper, burning his throat each time one rang through the room.

If life was considered a glass box, this was the point that he shattered. Since (Y/N) had died, he had received scratch after scratch, some worse and deeper than others. He only continued on because he was still intact, still put together, but he could only take so much. This was the scratch that caused it all to come crashing down, seemingly becoming worse as it seemed that each piece of broken glass stabbed him in the heart.

It was at this point that he opened the box containing the ring. A string of the words "I'm sorry" barely leaving his mouth because of how raw his through had become. It was at this point that his grief had become blinding and he no longer knew where to move on to or how to do so.

"(Y/N), I love you," Jeongin said, his voice barely making a sound.
