Chapter: 4
The morning was peaceful as I managed to get some much needed sleep. For once the baby stayed asleep.
Even if it was Tuesday, today there was a teacher assembly which means we had half of the school day today. Mom was downstairs making her famous cinnamon buns, dad at his usual seat drinking coffee and looking at his phone.
"Good morning baby." Said my mom.
Me in Tull with the fake baby in my hands sat down across from dad yawning. "Morning mom." I replied.
"I take it you want two or three?"
My eyes perked up."Two would be fine."
My mother resumed to what she was doing as my father spoke up not looking away from his phone. "Was that kid here yesterday?"
I'd admit dad doesn't like Greg that much, only because he sees him eyeing my sister. I hope.
"We were just hanging dad." I replied.
"So many kids in school and you pick Winston's son, how absurd."
"Honey leave our boy alone he has nice friends who treat him well." Said my mother as she handed the plate to me. "We should invite his family for dinner Linda happens to be the leader of the book club I've been dying to get in.
There my mom goes, trying to make things possible. My phone buzzes off already annoyed who it is.
"aren't you going to get that honey?"
I shook my head and presumed my desired bun. My phone buzzes again this time dad looked at it and raised a brow.
"Get it boy, people like that are going to blow up your phone."
I rolled my eyes looking at the phone, I pick it up not amused. "Im eating you know." I replied.
"Well Hello to you too Bubbles." Said Nick. "Come on down, I thought we could hang at the coffee shop."
I thought my idea of relaxing was to get away from the problem in the first place.
"I did say you have to do what ever I tell you to do, Isn't that right Bubbles?"
"Alright fine I'll be over there in a bit." I sighed. I felt stares down at me as both my parents looked at me with curious eyes.
"It's Nick mom, he's the father of our child."
My mother started laughing and dad didn't look amused; he went back to drinking his coffee already done with me for today.
****
Our local coffee shop is a humble place not as famous as Star Bucks but with some bomb ass coffee. I love this coffee shop, they have really good muffins, but what I don't like is the person who I'm meeting.
"Bubbles, it's so good to see you!"
My spit and fall Manson. I walk up to him already handing him the baby and sitting on the chair across from him.
In the pitiful and awkward silence I stare at him while he holds the baby in one hand and texts with the other. Is there a reason why he wants me here in the first place?
"Not many people in this coffee shop right?" questioned Nick.
Now that I look around there isn't much people.
"I have a few questions in hopes that you answer them without sass." Said Nick again.
I inclined my head to the side waiting for him to talk away.
"I make no promises." I grinned.
"How long have you been gay?"
Oh you mother f... You don't just tell or ask people how long they've been gay. It's like shooting a person and telling them not to bleed.
I stared at him."You don't just ask a person that you know."
"I want to know Bubbles."
"You want to know when or do you want to know if I'll jump you at any moment? Well sorry to bursts your bubble honey, but you're not my cup of tea."
"Wait you were gonna jump me?"
Did I just dig my own grave?
"I want to know what you're into. I don't exactly know who this Greg person is-"
"Wait did I tell you his name!" I exclaimed.
Nick smirked. It's that smile I hate the most, the face thats say I know something and you'll have to bribe me to keep quiet.
I shrink on my seat already feeling beat up for the day.
"Yeah you told me, but there's like Seventeen Gregs at our school I think, want to know what kind of guy he is or what you're into."
"Why do you sound like housewives in search for some gossip? I don't go and beat around the bush asking you how many girls you've slept with!"
"Why? Want me to introduce you to some?"
"Nick!"
"Im kidding, kidding! You'd be turn off by a girl anyway."
"I'm going out for some fresh air!" I said angrily.
The chilly air outside hitting my burning cheeks, I don't know if I was mad or embarrassed either way right now I don't want to see Nick.
Turning around the corner I bump into some one almost falling backward myself.
"Whoah, easy there!"
The voice was husky and low, soothing to one's ears....wait I heard that voice before. My gaze flew up from the floor and onto the person. He suddenly smirked, still holding me closely.
"I know you."He said.
The bathroom hunk!
"Y-yeah we met at Seth's party." I stuttered for a moment.
"I'm glad I got to see you again, and not covered in puke."
I looked away shyly."No puke this time clean clothes and clean shoes."
"Speaking of clean I'd like to know where you live so I can drop you off yours from last time."He said Laughing.
"You don't have to!" I replied quickly.
"Look uh..."
"Dexter! Dexter Porter." I answered.
"Cute name, for a cute boy."
Is he flirting with me? I stared a little bit of his face, I got to admit he was really attractive and to boot he called me cute this was a nice moment for me.
"DEXTER!"Screamed a voice.
My smile turned into a scorn, a face that shows hatred and disgust.
"It's freezing out here Bubbles!"Said Nick.
His gaze landed on the taller boy a bored face forming.
"Good to see you Nick." Said the guy.
"Devin."Replied Nick.
"I'd love to stay and chat but I have places to be, see you around Dexter."
He slips his hand into my jacket carefully and quickly so Nick wouldn't notice and walk to the direction we came from.
By the time we didn't see him, Nick turns to me, his face not amused.
"You should stay away from him he's bad news."
I stared at Nick a long bored stare at him. "I only bumped into him."
"Still take my words into consideration." Nick replies.
"The person I have to be aware of is you Nick, you're the most dangerous one right now."
I turned my heel and walked back to the coffee shop.
******
"Family Meeting people!" screamed a voice.
In seconds the whole house made it to the living room. My mom stood at the middle of the room pure giddy and dying to share the news.
Savannah crossed her arms and silently made a tick sound while Jackson sat next to me with a dead bored stare at everything.
"Guess who got sunshine clubbing to let them use their main hall for the Christmas event next week!" Said my mother. A huge smile sticking in her face.
"Let me guess, you did." Sarcastically replied Savannah.
My mother rolled her eyes and dissed Savannah."Yes pookie, for weeks I've been trying to get sunshine clubbing to at least let us do an event. Apparently the male golfing reunion was cancelled and they allowed me to get the event in roll."
"I bet they want something in return." Said Jackson.
"Well yes, they want to be a part of the event and already the local church is pitching in for decorations."
"Mom it's only the first few days of December. Doesn't a Christmas party happen I don't know? On Christmas!" I exclaimed.
"Dexter sweetie next week is when the party is going to be official, there's at least dozens of preparations we need to do before the day is hit." Replied my mother.
"I know where this is going." Said Savannah. "The moment she said family reunion thats when you know we all have to pitch in!"
"Oh Pookie!" I knew you'd help out." Said mom.
Jackson and I laughed noticing how Savannah just dug her own grave.
"A family week spread for the upcoming event! I want everyone to pitch in! no excuses." My mother then marches out of the room and upstairs she went.
"Permission to kill Savannah!" I said.
"Permission granted." Replied dad.
Savannah quickly jumps over the couch and runs right upstairs.
"We'll get her later lil bro."
"She'll forget, but I won't." I replied.
