Being Yours forever!
When two broken souls meet and merge as one, this is what happens—cherishing old memories, doing cute things, forgetting their age and the years that have passed. Both Anika and Shivaay seemed to forget the fact that they had been separated for 14 years. They smiled, laughed, and behaved like teenagers. Perhaps this is what happens when a couple separated in their youth meets again in their mid-thirties.
"Ansh is calling," Anika said in a delighted tone, though it reminded them of their responsibilities and the life they now shared.
"Answer it," Shivaay replied, rubbing his hands together, nervous but happy. Anika smiled at his mix of emotions as she answered the call and put it on speaker.
"Mumma, where are you? Why haven't you been answering my calls? Mumma... Mumma..." Ansh bombarded her with questions before she could even say hello.
"Ansh... relax... first, take a deep breath," Anika instructed, noticing the impatience and concern in his voice.
"Maa, you're asking me to relax after ignoring me all night? That's enough, Mom! Tell me, where are you?" Ansh asked, his tone rising slightly, revealing his worry.
"Ansh... I'm in Delhi right now," Anika said in a calm tone.
"Delhi? What are you doing in Delhi?" Ansh asked, his tone still sharp.
"Ansh... is that any way to talk to your mom?" Shivaay interrupted, causing Anika to laugh silently as she covered her mouth.
"Hey, who are you, Mr. Whoever? I'm talking to my mom, and I don't need you poking your nose in," Ansh snapped, not realizing it was Shivaay speaking.
"Ansh... is that any way to talk to your father?" Anika said, leaving Ansh in stunned silence. Both Anika and Shivaay struggled to stifle their chuckles as they anticipated his reaction. Ansh was speechless, his lips sealed in shock, and his eyes wide.
"Ansh?" Shivaay called. "Baby!" Anika chimed in. But there was no reply. Shivika, as they playfully called themselves, predicted this would happen, and indeed, Ansh was reacting just as they expected. They hugged each other and kept calling his name, but there was still no response.
"Ansh, what's wrong? Why do you look like a zombie?" Nisha's voice came through the phone, and Anika and Shivaay could clearly hear her. Nisha soon grabbed the phone and greeted them with a "Hello?"
"Nisha, get Ansh out of his shock," Anika said with a laugh. Nisha nodded and tried shaking Ansh, but he still didn't respond.
"Mom, he's not responding at all," Nisha informed Anika, sounding a bit worried.
"Nisha, try his usual method—pour a jug of water on his head," Shivaay instructed. Without questioning why Shivaay was involved, Nisha poured a jug of water over Ansh's head.
"Done, uncle," Nisha said, just as Ansh snapped out of his shock.
"Uncle..." Nisha stammered, now equally shocked as Ansh.
"Nisha..." Shivaay called, trying to bring her back to reality.
"Uh, yes?" she finally responded, still dazed.
"Hand the phone to Ansh, child," Shivaay asked gently.
"Uh, yes..." she mumbled, handing the phone to Ansh.
"Hello... Mom?" Ansh said, his voice tinged with uncertainty.
"It's your dad, not your mom. And I have happy news for you..." Shivaay said excitedly, but Anika quickly snatched the phone from him.
"I'll tell him!" Anika said.
"No, I'll tell him," Shivaay argued.
"I've decided I'll tell him. That's final," Anika insisted.
"Anika," Shivaay said, ready to argue.
"Shivaay," Anika countered, both of them chuckling, leaving a very confused Ansh and Nisha on the other end.
"Okay, let's tell him together," Anika suggested.
"Whatever it is you're going to say, please say it soon! I might faint from suspense," Nisha interjected, making them both laugh.
"Ansh and Nisha, listen carefully—Shivaay and Anika are back together!" they announced in unison.
"Who's Anika and Shivaay?" Ansh asked, clearly confused in his surprise.
"Idiot, your mom and dad are back together!" Anika clarified.
Ansh dropped the phone in shock, disconnecting the call. They tried calling again, but the phone was unreachable. Anika and Shivaay exchanged smiles, lost in their thoughts of happiness. Anika moved closer, sat beside him, and hugged him. Shivaay kissed her forehead, a wide smile spreading across his face. Though they both tried to stay composed, neither could stop smiling.
The phone rang again, this time it was Mallika. Anika answered but didn't put it on speaker, knowing the nature of the questions Mallika would likely ask after hearing they had spent the night together. She didn't want to get embarrassed in front of Shivaay, at least not so soon.
"Hello?" Anika answered.
"Ani... tell me, is it true? What I heard, is it true?" Mallika's voice trembled, and Anika could sense she had been crying.
"Yes... we're back together," Anika confirmed. Instead of the excited response she expected, she heard Mallika sobbing, which made Anika feel weak as well. Neither said anything for a while; their tears did the talking.
"I'm so... so happy for you, Ani... I can't even put it into words..." Mallika said between her sobs.
Anika wiped her own tears and asked, "I know... but is Ansh with you?"
"Yeah," Mallika replied, passing the phone to Ansh.
"Ansh, are you there?" Anika asked, hearing only a soft hum in response. She understood he was likely crying with joy, overwhelmed by the news that his dream had finally come true.
"Ansh, listen, we're going back to Bangalore. We'll be in Mumbai only occasionally, so start packing to head back home. Sharma Ji will be there in a few minutes with the tickets. Get ready," Anika informed him, her voice laced with emotion. Shivaay remained silent, trying to hold back his own tears.
"Okay... Mumma... Dad?" Ansh asked hesitantly. Anika passed the phone to Shivaay, who took it and answered.
"Dad!" Ansh whispered, breaking down in tears. Shivaay's eyes welled up as he listened to his son sob. Anika, noticing, wiped his tears and hugged him for support, even though she was just as emotional.
"I'm sorry," Ansh whispered, apologizing for choosing Anika over Shivaay. Shivaay understood and shook his head, though Ansh couldn't see it.
"No, don't apologize. I'm still so proud of you for choosing your mom over me. You did it without hesitation. Your decision gave me the strength to move on, knowing my Anika was in good hands—hands that would never let her be alone. You don't know how happy I am right now," Shivaay said, his voice filled with warmth. Anika looked at him with teary eyes, touched by how deeply he cared for her.
"No more tears, okay?" Shivaay said to both Ansh and Anika. They wiped their tears away.
"Now, smile," Shivaay added, making them both smile—Anika in person, and Ansh over the phone.
"Dad, why didn't you call me back yesterday?" Ansh asked.
"Yesterday?" Shivaay asked, confused. Anika quickly gestured for him to cover it up, leaving him even more puzzled.
"Uh, I got... caught up in a meeting, dear. Sorry," Shivaay covered awkwardly.
"It's okay. Where are you guys now?" Ansh asked.
"Hospital," Shivaay replied without thinking. Anika smacked her forehead.
"Hospital?!" Ansh asked, suddenly scared.
"It's nothing, just a little blood pressure fluctuation after seeing your mom. Nothing serious," Shivaay reassured him, and Ansh relaxed.
"Okay, Dad... Sharma Ji just arrived. I'll call you later," Ansh said, ending the call.
Both Anika and Shivaay sighed in relief after managing to hide the truth from Ansh, but Anika's mind was clearly troubled. Shivaay noticed and placed his hand over hers.
"What's bothering you now?" Shivaay asked, lying back on the bed.
"I just... made a decision without consulting you," Anika said, still avoiding his gaze.
"What decision?" Shivaay asked calmly.
"Shivaay..." Anika began, turning to face him. "Yesterday morning, I ran into Ishana at the mall. She said you'd become a drunkard after I left and even blamed me for her breakup with Omkara."
Shivaay's calm expression turned to confusion. "What nonsense?" he asked.
"That's not the point. After she told me, I rushed to the Oberoi mansion to confront you... but I couldn't bring myself to go in. My self-respect held me back, so I went home," Anika explained, lowering her gaze. Shivaay understood but stayed quiet.
"Later, Mallika told me everything. Even then, I tried to come to you, but I just couldn't step inside. Your security guard told me where you were, and you know what happened next..." Anika trailed off, her voice barely audible.
"So..." Shivaay prompted, even though he knew where the conversation was heading.
"Shivaay, I don't think I can go back to the Oberoi mansion. I'm so confused... maybe in the future, but not now. I can't behave normally with them... maybe with your brothers, but... Shivaay..." Anika said, exhausted from the weight of her emotions. Shivaay opened his arms to her.
She moved closer, resting her head against his heart. "Shivaay... I know your family means the world to you, but I can't... I'm sorry. I know I shouldn't keep you away from them, but I can't live without you either," she said, sighing heavily.
"You're right, Anika... my family means everything to me," Shivaay said, and Anika began to pull away, thinking he disagreed.
"But I can't live without my son and his mother—my would-be wife. So, shall we go back to our home?" Shivaay asked, making her tears fall again, this time from joy.
Shivaay lifted her head, making her look at him. "I only need two titles: husband of Anika Rao and father of Ansh Rao."
"Ansh Shivaay Singh Oberoi," Anika corrected, her eyes filled with tears.
"Just Ansh Shivaay," Shivaay replied, pulling her into a hug.
"You didn't answer my question, Anika," Shivaay said while holding her.
"What question?" she asked.
"Shall we go back to our home?" he repeated.
Anika kissed his cheek and whispered, "Yes."
