Chapter 31

Thranduil was laying in the grass beside the pond, letting the sun dry off his wet skin. Arieth stroke her hand across his chest, resting her palm over his heart. "It's getting chilly", she said. "Yes, atumn is approaching. We're in for some cold nights", Thranduil repiled. "It's a good thing we got each other", Arieth smiled and kissed him softly on the lips. Thranduil put his arms around her, hugging her, feeling her wet, pale skin against his. "I'll wrap my arms around you in the middle of the night when the cold wind caresses your body, sending shivers down your spine. I'll hold you and make you warm, like the flames dancing in a fire, I'll make your body burn". Arieth pressed her lips against Thranduil's. The way he spoke, the words coming from his mouth, turned her on. His voice was like a crimson rose with thorns. The words were like the red velvet leaves, brushing smoothly across her skin, his voice was like the thorns, leaving marks as deep as his tone.

They got dressed. They had to get back to the cottage to prepare dinner. They had a couple of preys left, but they needed to go hunting very soon to fill up the pantry. Arieth was putting on her jacket when something small and shiny fell out of her pocket. Thranduil noticed the shiny object falling towards the ground and reached down to pick it up. Arieth reacted too slow and could not stop him from picking up her belonging. "What is this?", Thranduil asked while placing the object in the palm of his hand. It was a necklace. "It's nothing", Arieth said. Thranduil narrowed his eyes, studying the pendant. "I've seen this some place before", he started saying. "In books". He looked at Arieth with widen eyes. "Is this yours?", he asked. "Yes", Arieth looked down. Thranduil's heart started pounding in his chest. He knew what the symbol in the necklace was. It had to do with magic.
