The Untitled Chapter: Chapter 8

Kai stuffed his hands back in his pocket. He does not like to walk with his hands outside his pockets.

A force pushed his shoulder but luckily he was able to keep his balance.

"Ohayo, Kai-kun!" Ren said, weirdly in a good mood.

Kai sighed. "Ren, you are in a terribly good mood."

"So what? It's not like it's not allowed." Ren said and smiled.

"Pshh..." Kai gave his normal expression.

"I don't like to hear Pshh as an answer, Kai." Ren said but Kai was gone.

'Jee, He's already in the Chem lab.'
Ren thought with a sigh but then he followed Kai to the chemestry lab.

Ren saw Kai beside Misaki, looking away from her. Ren sensed the awkward atmosphere around them so he just left.

He saw Asaka and sat beside her.

"Ohayo, Asa-chan!" Asaka ignored Ren since she did not hear him.

She already knows Misaki's past and she feels sad for her.

'So that's the cause of her being so cold....' Asaka mumbled.

She was startled when she saw Ren beside her.

How come did I not notice him sitting beside me?

Asaka mumbled when she got over her shock.

"Asaka-chan, what's wrong?"

"Nothing. I was just thinking about something." Asaka replied to the red head who nodded.

Their professor entered and everyone became silent. They are having an activity so everyone listened attentively.

Kai sighed in boredom. He was not one for patience.

After the discussion, their professor instructed them to face their lab partners.

Asaka and Ren were okay with it, but Misaki and Kai were glaring at each other.

Ren noticed it and scratched his head. Kai was never close with any girls, in Ren's opinion.

"Ren-sama, what's wrong?" Asaka said as she noticed Ren.

"Nothing, just look at those two." Ren said and gestured at Kai and Misaki glaring at each other.

Asaka glanced at where Ren pointed to and nodded.

(Rewind to Asaka and Misaki's Algebra Time)

"Before, I was always afraid to get involved in a relationship, especially when my childhood friend got heart broken." Misaki started and Asaka nodded.

"I decided not to fall in love. I realized that loving hurts, seeing her cry. But even though I rejected most guys courting me, he came into my life. At first, I also rejected him but he just doubled his efforts, unlike the others." She continued.

"Who is this guy?" Asaka asked curiously.

"Leon. Soryu Leon. I finally learned to trust because of him. Leon was also the one who made me so cold now. Be...Because of... h..hi....him-" Asaka cut Misaki off.

"Misa, don't continue if it hurts you so much." She said. It was her first time seeing her cry. Back then, Asaka thought that Misaki was strong, but indeed in the inside she was so fragile.

"No. You... You deserve to know... He cheated on me... with my best friend. He just used me to be close to my best friend. And I swear.... I swear... I would never trust any guy again." Misaki wiped her tears and Asaka hugged her.

"Just let it out. I know that this would be the first time and also the last time that I would see you crying, Misa." Asaka comforted her, not caring if others were looking.

(Back to the present)

Asaka glanced at Misaki. She was nothing now compared to yesterday.

A whole different side was revealed about her.

Being cold is just a shell for Misaki to hide her feelings, because deep down she's hurt.

And Sorry for the crappy chapter. This was just a filler chapter.

Don't worry though, I would not start writing 'Arranged Marriage' yet since I just can't abandon 'Heart of Ice'.
