Short
Y/N slumps down onto his bunk, his entire body aching from the relentless day. His muscles throb, and every bruise and scrape feels sharper now that he's no longer distracted by training. He presses a hand to his forehead, hoping it'll somehow ease the pounding headache that's been building since the morning. His stomach twists, making him feel both nauseous and hollow at the same time.
With a sigh, he closes his eyes, but memories flash across his mind, making him wince. He remembers how hard today's drills had been—the way the instructors had barked at him to keep up, to push harder, even when he felt his energy draining faster than usual. The harsh words and expectations from the Horde hang over him, making him feel small and exhausted.
Y/N is lying on his bunk, eyes closed, clearly exhausted and not in the mood to move. Catra strolls in, stopping in her tracks when she notices him sprawled out, looking completely drained. She tilts her head, a smirk forming as she watches him for a moment.
Catra: [Playfully] Well, well, look who's given up on life. I didn't realize a little training could wipe you out this much.
Y/N groans, turning away from her and burying his face in his pillow.
Y/N: [Muffled] Not now, Catra. I'm done for the day.
Catra rolls her eyes, marching up to his bunk and giving it a little shake.
Catra: Oh, come on, don't be dramatic! [Teasingly pokes his shoulder] Are you seriously going to spend the whole night lying here like a dead fish?
He lets out a sigh, barely lifting his head.
Y/N: My whole body hurts. Can't we hang out tomorrow?
Catra: Tomorrow? What happened to the guy who could keep up with me no matter what?
She nudges his shoulder, more gently this time, her tone softening just a bit.
Catra: Come on, you're not going to let me have all the fun without you, are you?
He sighs, reluctantly sitting up, giving her a tired but amused look.
Y/N: You're not going to let this go, are you?
Catra: Nope! Now come on, get up. I know a place with a great view of the stars. [Grins] And I'll even let you complain all you want on the way there.
Catra's teasing smile shifts into something more mischievous as she leans a little closer, brushing a stray piece of hair from Y/N's face.
Catra: [Playfully] Maybe a little... extra attention will help you feel better?
Y/N just shakes his head, his usual spark absent as he slumps back against the bunk, looking even more worn out than before.
Catra: [Not giving up] Really? Come on, I know you're tired, but I'm sure I could make you feel better...
Y/N lets out a soft sigh, his eyes closing. But then, without warning, he chokes up, his breath hitching as he finally lets his guard down.
Y/N: [Voice shaking] I don't... I just don't feel good, Catra. I'm... I'm just tired. Everything hurts.
The lighthearted expression on Catra's face fades, her smile softening as she realizes he's truly at his limit. She gently lets go of her teasing, her gaze shifting to concern as she watches him, taking in the exhaustion etched into his face. Without a word, she slips out of the room, returning a few moments later with an extra blanket and pillow. She tucks the blanket over him carefully, then settles down beside him, pulling him into a gentle embrace and wrapping her arms around him.
Catra: [Softly] Hey... it's okay. Just rest.
She holds him close, her fingers gently brushing through his hair, and he leans into her, grateful for the comfort.
