Your tears were flowing freely now, your Tsurak crying with you affected by your emotions through the bond. You apologized to her but, you felt so hurt and betrayed. The others didn't bother you so much. It hurt, you knew how they felt about you, you not being a true Na'vi, a fake, Eywa shouldn't have chosen you. You heard it all ever since you set foot on Pandora but, it hurt so much more to know how Ranari really felt about you. You thought he was having a change of heart, you thought he was going to be different but, he was just like the rest of them. That made you think did Ronal and Tonowari feel that way? Were they just pretending to be nice to earn your trust and just break your heart in a million pieces? Ranari already broke yours. You trusted him, you really thought you had a friend, a best friend and he threw it all away, and for what? You felt like screaming so you did. You screamed and screamed until your chest burned and you tasted blood on your tongue. Your Tsurak shrieked and growled with you releasing emotions the only way she knew how. That made you feel better, you hugged her tightly showing her appreciation. 

"We got this baby, we are going to find the BIGGEST fish in the reef to bring back. They can all kiss our butts! We are the best duo EVER!" You were chuckling to yourself as she slapped the water playfully.

"I like your enthusiasm even though we are in Akula territory..."

She was worried understandably so for both of your well beings. Akula's are violent and fast. They are the apex predators of the water. You needed to avoid them at all costs while also making sure they don't kill any of your potential prey. 

"I can't go back, darling. They already don't like me and Jake and his family are on thin ice as it is and they can use any excuse to kick them out. I don't want to be that reason, I need to be useful." Being called useless all the time definitely stung deeper than anything and you ignored the pang of pain in your heart when you called them his family and not ours. They really didn't like you, they were all so good at pretending. Everyone. Nothing ever changes. From the forest to the sea, you understood Lo'ak more than anyone. 

"Y/N SOMETHING IS COMING!" 

Your Tsurak was panicking, shrieking left and right whatever it was scaring you. You took a deep breath and dived under to look around, ending up screaming underwater air bubbles escaping and clouding your vision. An Akula! It was a fucking Akula!

"SWIM BABY SWIM! FLY!" You needed her to move. No wonder there was no prey for you. She didn't need to be told twice as she swam fast trying to avoid the Akula. You heard it roar giving chase making you scream in terror. You were scared, you wanted to go home to the forest at that exact moment but, you needed to stay alive. 

"NO!" 

Before you can ask why she screamed no, both of you were sent airborne all the fear you felt escaping in screams of terror. You felt like you were going to throw up your lungs and shit out your heart with how much fucking fear and adrenaline was coursing through you. You slapped the water painfully, disoriented but, finding the top swimming upwards. You looked to see your Tsurak was bitten but, managed to swim and get away hopefully for help leaving a trail of blood behind. Fuck. You swam up onto some rocks getting out of the water just in time to miss the Akula's jaws by inches. You couldn't breathe, you were so frightened. 

"Eywa please, Eywa, please! Oh, Great Mother, have mercy on my gorgeous soul." You were praying to Eywa that this fucker doesn't eat you. You always jokingly said you could kill one but, looking at one that is actively trying to kill you all by yourself was horrifying. You wanted to go home.

Jake and Neytiri were waiting anxiously by the shoreline, it was already midday and they left early this morning just as the sun was rising. They should have been back. He turned to Neytiri who hugged his arm in comfort. He felt relaxation encompass him, always amazed at how a simple touch from her can put him at ease. He was about to say something when he heard the children gasping. 

"THEY ARE COMING! I SEE THEM!" Tonowari and Ronal were at their Marui while most of the people were there to greet the hunting party back. He felt a grin creep onto his face turning to Neytiri to see a matching grin. He felt pride and love swell in his chest, excited and anxious to greet Y/N, he wasn't worried about anyone else but Y/N wanting to congratulate her, hug her, feel her, and smell her. He already can see your proud smile as you look around seeking them wanting his and Neytiri's approval. You were so cute, it took all his willpower every time he saw you from kissing you and claiming you as his. He really had a problem with his jealousy, possessiveness, and protectiveness that he usually was able to curve especially since Neytiri is so strong but, you're not Neytiri. 

"I got the bigger fish!" He watched as the hunting party got closer his eyes darting to and fro searching for you but, then he thought about how shy you were, you're probably in the back with Ranari. A sickening snake of envy curled its way into his chest as he felt his jaw clench. Neytiri's hand spread across his back helped but, didn't stop it. He watched out of the corner of his eye her searching for you as well. 

"No, I did. Olo'eyktan will be proud!" He slowly felt his chest fill with dread as all of them pulled in, getting off their Tsuraks. He tried being patient but, finally, when he saw Ranari with his head down, ears folded back he couldn't stop the sharpness bleeding into his voice. 

"Where's Y/N." His voice carried and it wasn't phrased as a question it was a statement. Everyone came and was on the beach but, there was no Y/N. He felt fear and panic rise inside of him, eyes slit in anger. He knew he should calm down but, he needed answers. Ranari cringed looking over at the others who had stopped staring at Toruk Makto with flickering ears. "WHERE IS SHE!" He couldn't keep the growl out of his voice and it must have been loud because he saw Tonowari and Ronal leaving their Marui and making their way down here. 

"She left claiming to have-"

"YOU LEFT HER!" It was Neytiri hissing and growling right along with Jake who wasn't done

"You left an inexperienced Na'vi in Akula-infested waters. WHAT THE FUCK WERE YOU THINKING!" Jake had to fight himself from jumping on the nearest Na'vi walking back and forth like a caged animal when Tonowari and Ronal came drawing attention 

"At ease Toruk Makto." At ease? Jake had half the mind to snarl but, refrained instead pointing angrily at the hunters 

"They left Y/N. They left her." Tonowari and Ronal frowned turning to the hunting party who looked away and down guilty 

"Is this true Ranari?" He did a full-body flinch at the Olo'eyktan's tone not used to being on the receiving end of his fury. He took too long to speak because he heard Ronal huff a growl

"Speak!" She was over it, disappointed in her brother that he would allow such childishness to endanger someone who means so much to her and others. The longer they stalled the longer Y/N was missing as the uncomfortable feeling in her chest grew. 

"Yes, Tsahik. We kept taking her kills and making fun of her and she swam away...and we left her behind." Ranari has never felt so small and guilty in his life. It was silence. Too silent. He slowly looked up only to be blindsided by a fist to the face. It knocked him on his ass, hearing snarling 

"TORUK MAKTO!" Jake then turned a snarl at Tonowari returning his gaze to Ranari who slowly stood up the whole right side of his face hurt, he thinks he chipped a tooth too. He looked up to see Jake was being held back by three others who were struggling. 

"SHE TRUSTED YOU! SHE LIKES YOU AND TRUSTED YOU!" That just made him feel like shit all over again. He is not sure if she will ever forgive him, if she is alive that is. He would be responsible for her death. Before anything can be said or done they heard shrieking and water slapping. They all turned to see an injured Tsurak beach itself in its hurry to get attention. Ronal was the first one to reach it, speaking to it with widened eyes. 

"It's Y/N's Tsurak. She is alive, very far out, a couple of miles past Three Brothers Rock. An Akula attacked them but, she is alive." That was all they needed to hear. Jake was already getting out of their arms and running to his Marui with Neytiri right behind him to get his knives and spear. He was going to get his Y/N if it means he has to pry the Akula's jaws open bare-handed.

This Akula must either be rabid or insanely determined because it has not left you alone! You had stabbed it numerous times already, your back horribly scraped from sliding up and down on the rocks. It kept ramming into the underwater rocks trying to knock you off as it did on the other rocks you were previously on. You were so tired, so fatigued all you wanted to do was sleep but, you knew if you slept you were good as dead. You couldn't do that to Jake, to Tonowari, to Lo'ak, Tsireya, Aonung, Neteyam, all of them. You couldn't die without fighting. You're pretty sure the Akula was attacking you because you were actively hurting it. Normally they would run at the first sign of pain or grow bored but, this one was wild. 

"You persistent big bitch." Its head was out of the water as it roared and you took the time to stab one of its jaws, screeching when its canine was let loose. You had taken 12 of its 38 teeth pissed beyond belief that it lost another tooth. Snagging it from the water you stuffed it in your bag, you wanted proof of your survival, attempted survival. You looked down at the two knives you had in your hand, both blades the size of your forearm. They were sharp enough to cut rock, which means they can cut the Akula's underbelly. That was impossible though because you were too tired to swim, too tired to hold your breath you won't make it. That's a death wish. You stared up at the sky praying again."EYWA PLEASE! I'M SO TIRED! LET IT LEAVE OR SOMETHING PLEASE!" You were two seconds from saying fuck Eywa she hates you but, this wasn't Eywa's fault. Maybe she wasn't interfering because this was part of the cycle of life. One of you was supposed to die to sustain the other and it seems it's you that's going to die. You looked back at the water horrified at a wave coming rapidly towards you. A scream was building up in your chest, even though you were bleeding and already couldn't breathe. When you saw its eyes come out of the water you held your arms up with the knives, eyes closed.

"EYWA PLEASE NOOOO! I DON'T WANT TO DIE! DON'T LET ME DIE! PLEASE I'M BEGGING!" You were dizzy with fear, tears, and snot covering your face, screams of terror escaping your chapped and broken lips, the salt water burning all your cuts and scrapes. You felt a horrible tug on your arm, dislocating it at the shoulder as you screamed in pain being tossed into the water. It took all the strength in your good arm to hold onto the rock you were on, slipping and slipping but, you finally got a good grip. Pain radiated all around as you sobbed. You didn't care, you were by yourself. You cried from pain, from fear, from the rush of adrenaline, from the water, from those who left you. You couldn't breathe you were just crying. You felt for your bag a little happy that it was closed and still with you but, you were still crying, hiccuping, and vomiting water at the same time. Everything hurt, it burned, you had a headache and it hurt to breathe let alone scream. The disturbed water stilled, but, that wasn't right. The Akula should be eating you. You turned slowly, screaming in raw panic at the eyes in front of you but, it was floating. Just floating. You rubbed your eyes making sure you were seeing what you seeing. The Akula was on its side floating, its guts spilling out. You couldn't believe it. You did that? Did you just kill an Akula accidentally? By yourself? Using your good arm you left the safety of the rock to touch the Akula flinching instinctively but, relaxing slowly when it didn't move, it didn't even breathe. You looked to see its insides spilling out, staining the surrounding water red with blood. You would have been happy but, this isn't good. More predators could come and you can either stay on the rock or ride the Akula as it slowly drifted. You went with the latter. Using the Akula's mouth you dragged yourself painfully having to try a few times because you pulled out more teeth which you begrudgingly added to your collection. 

"Take me home...Please." You don't know who you were talking to as you lay on the dead Akula not caring where you go. Why should you care? They clearly didn't. As you lay there letting the currents slowly take you and the Akula away from the disaster zone you looked down as its organs trickled out. You hit rocks, ripping the skin of the Akula more and even breaking bones. You were jostled side to side, tears steadily streaming. You don't know how but, enough ribs were broken that its heart came out. You looked at the organ with a desire to hold it, keep it. You had lost your spear a while ago so you improvised with a broken rib. You grabbed it and with the last of your strength, you stabbed it and brought it up to lay it with you. Now you were done. You were so done. You couldn't move if you wanted to. The last of your tears spilled as you lay on the organ, wet with water and blood. You were so tired, you wanted to sleep, you wanted to just rest done with fighting, done with swimming, everything hurt so much your arm going numb and bent awkwardly due to dislocation. You were fighting the sleep for too long but, as block spots appeared in your vision you knew you lost. All of this and you still lost. All you can do is apologize and pray that Eywa doesn't take you in its embrace.
