Chapter 19

A/N: I have never seen anyone do this with a soulmate au but, since the Na'vi are extremely spiritual and their deity Eywa is very real I decided to make you (Y/N) one of the lucky ones. You'll see what I mean.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You and Eywa have talked for hours but, who knows the sun is always up here. She told you about soulmates and how she has handpicked Na'vi all over the moon to have 20 mates, 1,000 familial soulmates, and up to 10,000 platonic soulmates. That information was no longer relevant to you considering you were with her in the afterlife. She had told you that you were one of them and you had met many soulmates. You remember having spoken to Mo'at having her realize that you were no longer on Pandora. You were with the Great Mother. You guys talked until she dropped a bombshell on you.

"It has been four days since you died" Your eyes bugged out of your head but, you didn't interrupt "They are all at the Spirit tree prepared to have your body brought to me." She said nothing else as a bright light overtook you and the scenery was dreary and you looked down to see something that had your mouth dropping again.

You're not sure what was Eywa's plan here, but there had to be a reason as to why she was having you watch all of them grieve. You had won, you made sure that all of the children lived, and all of the recoms were dead having gutted them and ripped out their insides. Hell, the humans too. None of the Tulkuns were dead, they all still had their spirit siblings and Ronal had told you she wanted you dead so why is she crying? She shouldn't cry, this is what she wanted. Your face cringed at the thoughts in your head, you knew she didn't mean it and it was said in a fit of rage and hormones but, it still broke your heart. She never apologized either so you had died protecting people who didn't like you and a home you never belonged to. However, as you watched the children leave gifts on your body, crying, Neytiri and Jake with tears streaming down their faces and Ranari rocking side to side to keep from sobbing out loud your heart thought differently.

"My child, do you wish to know why I am doing this?" You weren't allowed to turn around but, you could hear Eywa and feel her all around you. You nodded in confirmation.

"Yes, Mother. I did good, didn't I? I may have died but, they will get over it they have each other. They have their families and their children, I saved their homes and the threat is gone. Even if the sky people do come back it won't be for many, many years to come. They can be at ease. Neteyam can grow up, they all can grow up and fall in love and start a family." You were sad about everything that you missed out on. No, you didn't want to die but, you would take those bullets and knives again and again if it meant the Sullys lived if Ronal's children lived. That's what mattered. You never did matter in the end, after all, the war helped you to see everyone's true feelings about you.

"You did do good my child. You were very brave and resilient, your determination to save and protect was stronger than Toruk Macto himself... However, your life ended much too soon. You did not get to experience the love of family, friends, soulmates, the love of having mates and creating life. I love you, my child, I wish I can keep you but, I am afraid it's much too soon for you to be here. You deserve to feel the love and happiness that they should have provided the first time." You didn't know what that meant and before you could ask, bright light and sudden darkness surrounded you. "I'll see you another time my sweet child."

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jake felt like his chest was about to cave in more than it already did. He never thought it would be you, he thought people would die, he was ready for Na'vi to die and some did but, he never thought it would be you. Eywa he had treated you like shit, they all did and you died thinking they hated you. That was so far from the truth.

"Ma Jake" His eyes focused, finding himself back up with everyone else when the yellow tendrils reached out the water and encompassed her body. No, no, it was too soon he didn't want to say goodbye, he wasn't ready. He found himself reaching a hand out wanting to pull her back up but, Eywa had decided to grab her already. He felt the tears coming as his mouth warbled.

"My Eywa" He heard Ronal and Tonowari whispering in shocked surprise. It seemed that something like this has never happened and the body had to be brought down to Eywa, not the other way around. He couldn't blink not wanting to miss a thing, not even when his family was squeezing him hard enough to bruise did he look away, he needed to know. When the golden tendrils moved, the bands around her wrists, ankles, and chest were gone and she looked as if she was sleeping.

"Take care of her the way you were supposed to the first time" Holy shit he got chills, he got chills from the top of his head to the bottom of his feet, was that Eywa? What did she mean? Why would Great Mother talk to all of them?

"SHE'S AWAKE!!" His head jolted sharply to the front to see why in the Jesus Eywa did Tuk shriek only to feel his legs try to give away. Eyes. Y/N's eyes were open, fully dilated, but open. Everything was a blur after that, he couldn't focus. He was trying to stay grounded but, the way he was being pulled to you made it all that more real. He was crying and by Eywa he didn't care, he had emotions just like everyone else did so he allowed himself a soft sob as he slowly wrapped his arms around you. It was clear you weren't there mentally but, that's fine. Everything is going to be fine, Great Mother granted you a second life and he wasn't going to ruin it. That's why she talked to all of them, it was a warning, a threat. She will take her away permanently if they didn't treat her the way she deserves.

"Thank you, Great Mother. Thank you, thank you-" He had grabbed you and didn't realize it, he was on autopilot, he was carrying her with his children and Neytiri plastered to him, and all he could say as he walked from the Spirit Tree ignoring the way everyone started thanking and praying and staring was

"Marui"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The only reason you woke up was because of a bone-setting ache and pain. It ached so bad you couldn't say a word as your eyes went wide open. You were on your back looking up at a Marui? What? You laid there needing to come to your senses. The ache and pain were making it almost unbearable but, you needed to think, to focus. You strained your ears hearing the soft snores and noises of those around you sleeping. Sleeping? What about the sky people? The Tulkuns? The children are stuck on-. You stopped abruptly, choking a bit as everything flooded back to you. You died, you had died protecting the children and had taken Quaritch with you, having emptied the gun on him until he was nothing but mush. You were rescued by Jake and you knew you weren't going to make it. By the time you made it to the beach you were already knocking on death's door, the last thing you had thought was

"You got your wish,"

You didn't verbally say it only able to muster a smile at Ronal before being sent to Eywa. Well, you thought you were staying but, Eywa had other plans clearly. You managed to turn your head eyes widening considerably at the proximity of Ronal's face to yours. You can feel her breath on your face and the swell of her belly on your side. She has a frown and tear trails on her cheeks. You hated it, she may have hated you but, the sentiment was not shared. It took an embarrassing amount of strength to move your hand up and lightly touch her cheeks. She must have been a light sleeper because her eyes popped open as if startled and it scared you too making you flinch.

"Ma Y/N!" She didn't mean to scream but, she didn't care. It's been three days since Eywa blessed them with a second chance to do right, she heard her warning loud and clear just like everyone else did. Y/N really was chosen and loved by Eywa. "She's awake, she's awake!"

You heard shuffling and you were being moved and prodded and a bunch of blurry blue faces that you couldn't tell who was who. It was a lot of noise and you must have made a face or maybe your ears pinned back in discomfort because the next thing you know there were only two faces, one of them being Ronal and the other maybe being Neytiri.

"You must drink." You were grabbed gently and placed against someone's chest you don't know who the other person was, but they smelled like Neytiri. You drank the water or tried to as half of it was on your chest and neck but, it was wiped away by Neytiri with a cloth. You were exhausted even though you'd been sleeping. Dying and coming back to life really takes a toll on your body. You must have fallen asleep because when you woke up again it was much brighter and you were in Neytiri's lap lying against her as she rubbed up and down your back. You looked around with your eyes only and saw Ronal mashing together herbs and stuff.

"Tiri" Your voice was horrendously rough but, both women turned to you, and in two strides even with her very pregnant belly Ronal was in front of you with something that smelled awful but, you knew you had to eat.

"Yes, ma'yawne. I'm here." Neytiri placed a kiss on your forehead as Ronal sat and using a spoon scooped up some of the mush and pressed it to your lips gently. She was uncharacteristically sweet and patient. It made you a little nervous, to be honest, but, you weren't going to question it as you opened your mouth to let her spoon-feed you. It was a little embarrassing but, the way your limbs felt like lead you didn't have a choice but, to be fed. It was silent, the three of you huddled together with you eating everything in the bowl. It was nasty and you were thankful that she gave you something sweet and tangy to wash it down.

"Rest ma'yawntutsyip. We will be here." Clearly, the juice was not juice and some sort of medicinal drink thing because you snuggled more into Neytiri and welcomed sleep sweet embrace.

--------------------------------------------------

When you woke up again you were being swaddled from all ends so you knew for a fact you weren't laying on Neytiri anymore. Blinking your eyes to focus you noticed Tsireya and Aonung were to the right of you, Ronal and Neytiri surprisingly were to the left, your head was on someone's stomach and your eyes moved to see it was Neteyam with Kiri, Loak, and Tuk curled around him as well. Finally, you looked towards your feet and Jake and Tonowari were there. You didn't know what to do. This is what you wanted, you loved all of them so much but yet when you look at the adults, disdain, sadness, jealousy, and rage sat in your chest as a disgusting mixture of emotions and feelings you didn't want to say. How dare they act like they didn't dig a knife in your chest and shred your heart? They said such hurtful shit, and even if you knew it was because of grief, worry, and anger you knew there was some truth in there. The truth always came when one explodes with a mix of wanting to hurt your feelings. An evil, twisted part of you wished you would have stayed dead but, as quickly as the feeling came it disappeared.

"Y/N" You heard your name whispered and you turned to your right to see Tsireya staring at you already crying. You smiled down at her and, squeezed her hand since she was already holding it. She leaned up as you leaned down so you can kiss her forehead. She beamed at that snuggling more into your side and falling back asleep a few minutes later. Too bad you didn't share the need to sleep but, the way everyone was on and around you it'll be impossible to move without waking someone up. You opted to stare up at the ceiling and daydream. Maybe if you daydream enough you can let time pass but, eventually, your body needed more rest even though your mind was running a mile a minute. Your eyes closed on their own and you fell into a dreamless sleep.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

We are not done with the emotional shit yet! This chapter is definitely shorter than the last one as well.
