Jake's heart was pounding so hard he can hear it in his ears. He, Tonowari, and other hunters were sent back out speeding through the water. Ranari had to stay because Jake was way too tempted to drown him and Ronal and Neytiri were going to punish him and the other hunters for being so foolish. He better pray to Eywa that Y/N is alive or Ranari was going to speak to Eywa permanently.

"We are almost past Three Brothers Rock! Keep going!" Tonowari didn't want to admit how scared he actually was. He was scared for Y/N, what if she was dead? It took a long time for the hunters to get back as well as her Tsurak. How long was she out there? What if the Akula got her and this is all in vain?

"I SEE AN AKULA! IT'S AN AKULA!" Jake and Tonowari were brought out of their panicked and worried musings at the sight of an Akula turned over on its side clearly dead, that was weird. What can possibly kill an Akula? They were the apex predators of the seas and it took at least 5 of his best warriors to kill an adult one, and three to kill a juvenile. As they approached they saw something that made their stomachs turn in knots.

"IT'S Y/N! MA Y/N!" Consequences of what he said be damned he hurried his Tsurak almost flying completely out of the water in his rush to get to Y/N's still body. Cold dread filled his chest, almost blinded by how fast his heart was going, stubborn hot tears coming to his eyes as he choked down a sob. No. She was alive. She had no choice. He stopped, looking over her mangled body, the sob he tried holding coming out from deep within his chest as he delicately as possible picked her up feeling for a pulse and almost slumping into the water from the relief that spread from the top of his head down his chest and spine. She was holding a bag tightly to her chest with her good arm even as she was unconscious. That's when Jake finally took a good look at what she was laying on and it was a heart. An Akula's heart. He stared as he held her closely, looking between her, the heart, and the dead Akula coming to the same conclusions as everyone else. 

"She killed it." He turned to Tonowari who stared in awe, the same way the other warriors were. He was damn proud too but, his top priority is making sure she stays alive. His eyes showed his desperation as his and Tonowari's eyes met and he nodded sympathetically watching as Jake took off with her limp body. Eywa please save Y/N. 

"What should we do?" He turned to the warriors who were staring at him with a little fear, tentative to even speak up. They should all be ashamed of themselves. How long have they been bullying Y/N he hasn't noticed, they all had a lot of explaining to do. He allowed his displeasure at the whole situation to be shown in his face and posture as the hunters shrunk into themselves from the piercing gaze he centered on all of them.

"We bring it."

Once on shore, everything was a blur as Jake ran from the beach straight to Ronal's Marui. He even ran past Ronal herself but, he couldn't find it in himself to care barely hearing her say to the Marui with her and Neytiri running behind him with panicked breaths. He was panting, praying to Eywa to not take his Y/N from him, from Spider, from the children, from her family. Please, don't take her that wouldn't be fair. She never had a mate, never had children of her own, she always was living in someone else's shadows and taking care of other mates' children. Please let her live and heal so she can have that future. Let her be alive and happy even if that happiness is not with him and Neytiri.

"Put her down!" He did as instructed laying her as gently as possible, placing a kiss on her forehead, and stepping back letting Ronal and Neytiri work. He was useless. He went to leave the Marui but, they both hissed orders at him to receive herbs, bandages, water, and anything and everything they told him to get he did. He watched from the opening of the Marui as they cleaned your wounds, placed your arm back in its socket, wrapped your wounds, and changed you out of your ripped, bloody clothes putting new ones on you. You didn't move a muscle the entire time, not even a sound escaping your throat. The only sign that you were even alive was the way your chest fell up and down with every breath you took. All he can focus on was that you were clean now. He felt comfortable enough to step in the Marui to the two women with Y/N's bag in his hand. He tentatively looked inside it to see Akula's teeth so he simply tied it back up.

"She killed the Akula." Both women turned to him sharply looking between him and Y/N. He probably would have found it hard to believe at first but, Y/N was strong. Stronger than most people gave her credit for. 

"Impossible-" He shook his head at Ronal firmly. Nothing seemed impossible with Y/N.

"I don't know how but when she got there, her knives were still inside the Akula, she was laying unconscious on its heart and," He shook the bag so they can hear "here are the Akula teeth she collected. Tonowari and the others stayed behind to bring it, and show proof. Your hunters left Ma Y/N by herself and she managed to kill your apex predator of the water and now she is fighting for her life." He was almost hissing stressed that he wasn't there. Stressed how scared she was, how much she must have cried, and how she must have been preying for someone to save her. He was supposed to protect her, and keep her safe and he failed. It seemed all he did was fail when it came to you. That needed to change. Neytiri stood up but, paused at the sound of commotion. Jake looked out and saw they were back with the Akula. "Look Tsahik." He looked over to Ronal watching as she stood up and looked with slightly widened eyes at the Akula her mate and the people brought back. "I told you she killed one." Jake didn't wait as he left the Marui with Neytiri right behind him making his way to the beach. Underneath all of his worry and panic, he was proud of Y/N. Always was proud even if he never says it. He really needs to learn to start regulating his emotions and speaking his mind kindly like he used to. He made it to the shore with Neytiri just in time to hear the conversation going on.

"Olo'eyktan, you killed the Akula-" Tonowari silenced everyone raising his hand, ceasing all questions before they can even be asked. 

"I did no such thing." His voice was sharp and it carried across the entire beach rendering everyone silent. Even scared to breathe. He got off of his Tsurak walking to his people not bothering to help the hunters beach the Akula. "Y/N did." The heart she had cut out he threw to the ground eyeballing everyone, his glare piercing through the hunters who had left her in the beginning. "By the grace of Eywa, she had to kill an Akula to survive. Toruk Macto brought her to the Tsahik to try and save her." His gaze turned solely to the hunters whose eyes were to the ground "Look at me when I am speaking!" All of them flinched, soft noises escaping them as they moved their gaze from the ground and stared at him with guilty and scared looks. They knew they fucked up, really badly not only with him but, with Toruk Macto as well. "The people of the Omatikaya Clan are now Metkayina whether you like it or not." He put emphasis on the not part as he looked around at everyone, he had accidentally made an impromptu meeting. "It has been brought to my attention the mistreatment Y/N has gone through and I want everyone to admit what they have done and when she wakes up, get on your knees and apologize to her." He was not kidding and he watched as some ears tilted back in guilt. He knew who he was going to speak to first and if not he can always turn a blind eye and let Jake talk to them.

"Olo'eyktan." Jake addressed the man, feeling the pause in the speech was perfect to intrude and said man took notice of his and Neytiri's presence his eyes traveling to the blood on both their bodies and hands as his heart constricted in his chest. That was Y/N's blood. She wasn't supposed to have so much blood missing. "May we speak in private?" As he nodded and dismissed his people he also thought about the children watching from behind Jake and Neytiri Aonung, Tsireya, and the Sully kids making a beeline for the Marui. He felt even more guilt than before. Once the three of them were far enough from prying eyes and ears he turned to them in earnest.

"She is unconscious and we don't know when she will wake up." There goes the pain he felt from earlier intensifying. He wished he would have gone but, never would he have thought that Ranari would do that, he thought the guy had liked her, even admitted to him in secret that he thinks he likes her and then turns around and does this? He feels ashamed and as if he failed. They were trying to get away from danger, wanting peace from chaos, and he brought it upon them from his own people. He needed to be strong though, Neytiri and Jake must feel worse than he does. He gently lifted his hands resting them on their shoulders glad that they leaned into it instead of pulling away. 

"We all will prey on Eywa for her...Ma Ronal is a very talented Tsahik, she will not fail her. I won't fail her again. I am truly sorry for putting her in danger." Jake bristled not understanding why he was apologizing when he did nothing wrong but, he took a deep breath and placed a hand upon his that was still on his shoulder in comfort. 

"It is not your fault. You trusted ma Y/N and you trusted your people to do right. They failed you, and they failed us. You did not fail anyone, especially us. They are the ones who have to face punishment and apologize to Y/N and only Y/N and pray that she finds it in herself to forgive them." Jake gave a firm squeeze to the hand waiting for Tonowari to remove himself and when he did, he nodded and went straight to the Marui. The kids were more than likely still visiting Y/N with Spider and Lo'ak laying over her or trying to if Ronal will let them and he honestly needed vodka but, he knew that wasn't here on Pandora. Maybe he can call for Norm and see if he has a stash of alcohol.
