77 | the guilty ripper hybrid
Ruby dropped the shovel, after filling the last grave with soil. She had just dug and filled 37 graves. She had murdered 37 people.
The Waithe lit candles, before she sat on a bench and faced the graves. Monica took a seat beside her. "I can't believe I did this..." The hybrid exhaled. "I killed 37 people— I killed someone's children, someone's parent... someone's brother or sister." She rambled before letting out a sigh, as she was filled with the regret.
"The difference between you and most vamps that turn off their emotions, is that you regretted it. You took the time to dig graves for those you killed, and put them to rest." Monica said before Ruby snapped her head towards the blonde. "But that still doesn't make any of this okay." She admitted.
"No.. but it makes you better than the majority of vampires.. I'd go to say that you're the best of us." She said, trying to lighten the mood, but it didn't seem to work.
"Cmon, let's head back to the school." The Montgomery said, getting to her feet. Ruby took one last look at the graves, before also getting to her feet to follow Monica to her car.
Sometime later they arrived back at the school. "Where are all of the other students?" Ruby asked Alaric. "I sent them all home for the week... I was worried that you might have... hurt them." Alaric admitted as Ruby nodded reluctantly. "Understandable."
Ruby began walking towards her dorm, leaving Monica and Alaric. "She's not doing too good." The vampire spoke, as they watched her walk away. "She killed a lot of people... it would be a lot to bear."
Monica's breath hitched before she finally said what she was really thinking, "Ric... I'm not sure if Ruby will get through this." The Saltzman turned to the vampire. "She will. I have an idea.." He admitted.

Ruby had mostly kept to herself, disgusted by her actions. She had seen Hope, and it wasn't the exciting reunion everyone would have expected, the hybrid was actually quite a mess as she had approached her girlfriend.
Lizzie suddenly approached the common room, where Monica, Jordan, Josie, Hope and Ruby were seated. "Pack your bags guys, we're going to Europe!" She announced, clapping her hands together. "Wait, really?!" Monica asked as she excitedly, got off of the couch.
Lizzie gave her girlfriend a nod, before sinking into the seat beside Ruby. "My Mum has some contacts all around Europe that could help you. Think of them as, supernatural psychologists." The blonde said. "Wait... you did this for me?" The hybrid asked in surprise as Lizzie nodded. "Yep, we'll be catching a plane tonight so everyone, pack your bags!" Lizzie concluded.

The plane ride to Rome had been especially quiet. Most of the group had been sleeping, that was except for the Montgomery siblings. Growing annoying to their significant others, the Saltzman girls swapped seats so that Monica and Jordan could annoy eachother, so the Gemini twins could instead sleep.
Once exiting the plane and collecting their luggage, the group looked out for Caroline. "There she is!" Josie chirped as Lizzie and Josie suddenly bolted away from the group. "Huh— Lizzie?" Monica blurted out with confusion as the twins suddenly disappeared.
They finally found Caroline, being embraced by her daughters. Ruby, Hope and the Montgomery siblings smiled as they approached the family. "Hi Mrs Salvatore, it's nice to meet you!" Ruby smiled, as neither she or Jordan had met the headmistress, though she had met Monica and Hope previously.
"Hi, you must be Ruby!" Caroline smiled before looking to Jordan, "And Jordan..." and then her eyes meet Hope and Monica, "Hope.. and Monica— Lizzie doesn't stop talking about you." Caroline teased. "Mum!" Lizzie huffed but Monica just laughed as she shot her girlfriend a smirk.
The group left the airport and followed Caroline, as she spoke to Ruby. "You have an appointment tomorrow in Berlin, then in two days time you have one in Paris." She explained to the hybrid. "But don't worry, I'll make sure you get there without any hassle." The Salvatore assured her.

"Woah... so this is the Colosseum!" Jordan blurted out as himself and Josie got into line to go inside. The group had been in Europe for four days now, and had been able to go wherever they wanted.
Whilst Ruby was going to be staying with Caroline for a while the rest of the students were only in Europe for the week, just until all the other students at the Salvatore school were to come back. So they were making the most of it and doing lots of exploring.
"I've always wanted to see the Colosseum." Jordan spoke excitedly. Josie smiled as she took his hand, "It looks really cool from the inside." She admitted.
"Did you know.. that some of the games in the Colosseum lasted up to 100 days?" Jordan asked as Josie blinked in surprise. "That's a long time.." She admitted, before the pair faced the Colosseum walls again.
"How about after this, we get some pizza? I've been so excited to try real Italian pizza." The witch admitted as Josie nodded, eagerly. "Mum took me to a really lovely pizza shop in a small street around here... I'll have to take you!" She rambled, excitedly.

"Well.. who would have thought, we'd be in Paris today?" Monica asked as herself and Lizzie were standing in a main street, near the Eiffel tower. "I definitely didn't." The taller girl admitted.
"I've always wanted to bring somebody here.." Lizzie admitted as she looked towards the tower. "Mum told me that the Eiffel tower is considered to be one of the most romantic places in the world."
"It's funny, just a couple of years ago... I always dreamed of bringing a boy here." Lizzie laughed humourlessly, causing for Monica to laugh too. "I didn't ever think I'd be interested in girls." She admitted as Monica shrugged, "What changed?" She asked innocently. Lizzie looked down at their intertwined hands before she shrugged, "I met you."
"Hm... I'm your queer awakening?" Monica asked amusedly. Lizzie laughed, "I guess." She replied, before the pair shared a kiss. Monica threw her arms around Lizzie's waist, pulling the girl closer before they broke apart.
"So... I was thinking. Dinner, at the top of the tower? Overlooking Paris." The Montgomery suggested as Lizzie just looked at the vampire, lovingly. "I like the sound of that."

It had been a week, and it was time for all of the students, minus Ruby, to fly home. Hope had packed her belongings, and sat on the edge of a water fountain with Ruby beside her as they held hands.
"Sorry we didn't get to go on many cute dates like the others did." Ruby sighed as Hope shook her head. "No don't apologise, you came here to see psychologists, and control your ripper side. Plus, we did go on a couple of cute dates." The Mikealson said before she pulled out a polaroid picture of the pair, that someone had taken for them when they visited the Big Ben, in London. Ruby smiled fondly at the memory.
"When do you think you'll come back to Mystic Falls?" Hope asked. Ruby shrugged, "I'm not sure. I am starting to feel better and I'm managing to control myself a lot more. So... hopefully soon." She answered.
"Well... no matter how long it takes, I'll be at home, waiting with open arms." Hope spoke with a loving expression. Ruby laughed before she leant forward to kiss the tribrid. Hope kissed back before Ruby pulled away. "I love you." The hybrid said, with a smile. Hope just smiled back, "I love you too."
