58 | that is a terrible idea

Ruby and Hope left the dorm in a panic as the Mikealson left to search for Alaric, whilst Ruby went to search for Jordan. With Monica disappearing, she worried he was gone too.

Ruby raced into the common room, finding Jordan on the couch, chatting to some witches. "Jordy!" She squeaked, racing over to him.

The confused witch got to his feet, and Ruby embraced him. "Is everything okay?" The Montgomery asked as Ruby pulled away, shaking her head. "Something happened.. Monica and the Saltzman twins disappeared!" Ruby explained as Jordan's eyes widened in shock, "W..What?" Hope suddenly barged into the room, "Dr Saltzman is gone too." She blurted out.

"Um.. what just happened?" Lizzie asked. Josie and Monica got to their feet and each stood next to Lizzie now, as they all looked around in confusion.

"Dad?" Lizzie called out, as they found him ripping a leg off of a wooden chair. "Ric.. where the hell are we?" Monica demanded. "In a prison world." Alaric answered, before he looked to the twins, "It's the one you made when you were kids."

Suddenly, a familiar voice spoke up, causing the group to spin around. "Hello, Elizabeth." Monica felt herself cringe.

"Sebastian!?" Lizzie blurted out, looking surprised before she turned to face her father, "You lied to me? You told me that Sebastian chose to leave the school!" She insisted. "I said he made his choice— He refused to respect our rules." The older Saltzman responded. "So you sent him here?" Monica asked, feeling as though that was unreasonable.

"He had help. There was a witch who did the spell. Dark hair, kind eyes. Amazing accent." Sebastian said as Josie realised who he was describing, "Emma."

"How could you, Dad?" Lizzie growled. "You can yell at me after we arm ourselves!" Alaric decided. "Ric, why do we need weapons so bad?" Monica asked as she looked puzzled. "All you need to know is that we're in danger, and we need to find a way out now." Alaric concluded, giving them no details.

"We're in a new world now. Perhaps you are no longer the one in charge." Sebastian declared, but not longer after the words left his lips, Alaric staked him causing Lizzie to gasp in horror. "To be clear, my daughters, Monica and I are leaving, you are staying behind and yes, I am in charge." Alaric said to the pirate.

Monica frowned, still not understanding why Alaric was so worried. Josie spoke up, "Oh, my God. Dad. This is about Uncle Kai, isn't it? That's why you're so worried?" She said, but Alaric remained quiet. "I know this has to be hard for you, but you said he was desiccated."

Alaric looked up and glanced at Josie, then to Monica and Lizzie. "You don't know what he's capable of. And until I'm positive no one's set him free, I'm not taking any chances."

Monica frowned, "Who could have set him free?" She then asked. "I'll explain all that later. Right now, I need you to go to the meadow and get the Sandclock before anyone else finds it. Then I need you to come back here and hide. And stay hidden." Alaric ordered Josie and Monica.

The Montgomery turned to look for Lizzie, only to find that she was gone, as Sebastian had whisked her away.

Josie's shoulders slumped, "Dad, this is all my fault. If I hadn't done black magic in the first place, we'd have never been in this mess." She admitted. "Well... you're not wrong." Monica pointed out as Alaric had left.

"Why are you here?" Josie asked curiously and confusedly as Monica shrugged, "Alyssa hates my guts. It's probably just jealousy, but I'm sure she thinks she can become the queen bee while I'm absent— which she won't." The Montgomery girl huffed.

The vampire then span around before calling out, "Lizzie? Sebastian? Where are you guys?" While they headed towards the entrance.

"Quick question..." An unfamiliar voice spoke up. Monica and Josie turned around as their eyes landed on a girl who seemed unfamiliar to them... or at least unfamiliar to Monica. "Who the hell are you?" The girl asked.

Monica glanced at Josie, who was equally as confused. "Jade?" The Saltzman blurted out with recognition. Upon recognising Josie, Jade spoke, "Little Josie Saltzman— all grown up. I'll be damned. Is Lizzie here too?"

"No." Monica answered coldly, causing Jade to look up at her. "Another vampire... I'm guessing you are quite affectionate towards Lizzie." Jade stated as Monica kept a stern look on the girl.

"Actually... can we have this conversation after I eat? Because I am starving.. and you look delicious." Jade declared as she glanced at Josie who suddenly felt uneasy.

Before Jade could speed towards Josie, Monica blocked her way. "You're right, I am quite affectionate towards Lizzie, which is why I can't let you fed from her sister." She decided. Before Monica could say anymore a large stake was rammed through Jade's chest, causing her to fall to the ground unconscious.

The girls turned around to see taller man standing there. "Come with me if you want to live." He said to them.

Monica and Josie followed the stranger, as they ended up at the Old Mill. "I call it Fort Parker. It's a it's a bit moldy but also rent-controlled, so I try not to complain. Flavored vodka? It's, uh, It's no Zima, but then again, nothing is." He said as Josie came to a realisation, "You're Kai Parker." She said.

Kai faked a gasp. "I am. And you are one of the Saltzman twins. I can smell the Gemini on you. The real question is: are you Linda or, or Joanie? I can never tell you two apart." He chuckled. "I'm Josie. Named after my mom, who you killed." The Saltzman answered.

"Okay, here we go. Look, technically, I was trying to kill you and your sister. Uh, but that's all over now, so I say we just move on." Kai spoke as though it wasn't a big deal. "Move on? You're a monster." Monica scoffed, as Kai looked at her. "I don't believe we have met." He decided.

"Monica Montgomery." The blonde answered with an annoyed glare. Kai blinked in surprise, "Titus' daughter?" He asked, causing her to send an even angrier look, "He was hardly a father." She scowled.

"I used to date one of his exes, Cynthia." Kai told her, as she blinked in surprise. "I— Oh— Wow." Monica blurted out, completely surprised by this. "We broke up, she had a one night stand and fell pregnant with who I assume is... your brother."

Monica then shook her head, "Okay, I don't want my family's names coming out of your mouth again, you monster." She decided, referring to Cynthia and Jordan... as far as she was concerned, Titus wasn't her family.

"A monster would have let you die. That vampire who tried to turn you into her own personal Capri Sun? She's the real monster." Kai pointed out. "She and her cronies run this world. They revived me from desiccation just so they could have a little plaything. Every day, like clockwork, they hunt me down and kill me."

"But since I'm magically bound to this world, I can't actually die. So I pop back up only to be hunted and killed all over again every day. Welcome to the Supernatural Hunger Games." Kai concluded.

"That girl used to go to my school. Why is she here?" Josie then asked as Kai imitated a buzzer sound before declaring, "No answers for free. Information for information. What are you doing here?"

"Josie used a Mora Miserium." Monica spoke up. "Sandclock? Oh, don't tell me. It degraded, and you just decided to drop it over here without a thought for my safety." Kai responded. "That was the plan." Monica replied, a slight smirk on her lips.

"I tried to create a new world, but a witch tricked us, and we got pulled into this one instead." Josie sighed. "Classic double cross. And, uh who's we?" Kai asked.

"I answered your question. Now you have to answer mine." Josie said, slightly impressing Monica as she was actually standing up to her Uncle. "Why is Jade here?" The siphoner asked. "Yeah. I'm not the one you should be asking." Kai answered, clearly referring to Alaric.

As Monica sped back to the main building with Josie, the first thing she heard was Kai saying to Alaric, "Hey! Look at us, we're beard bros!"

Alaric didn't seem amused in the slightest, "What are you girls doing with him? He could've killed you!" He stated. "He saved my life, actually." Josie responded, referring to their interaction with Jade. Monica frowned, "I could have taken her on."

"I don't care. He's a liar. You can't trust him. You hear me?" Alaric said sternly as he glanced from Monica to Josie. "Was he lying when he told me you sent a bunch of your old students here to punish them?" Josie asked. "I told you, we all make mistakes. I'm not about to make the same one twice." The headmaster declared, as he grabbed Kai's machete.

"Ric, you can't kill him in this world." Monica stated, as she crossed her arms. "Well, I'm sure as hell gonna try." Alaric decided as he lurched forward to go after Kai.

Josie quickly reached out to grab Monica's hand to siphon magic from the vampire, causing the Montgomery to shoot her a glare for touching her. The ravenette then cast a spell, causing Alaric to fall unconscious.

"Josie.." Monica blurted out in a confused tone. "Well, I definitely didn't see this coming." Kai admitted as Josie was tying Alaric to a chair. "I didn't want him trying to stop me." She admitted.

"Stop you from doing what?"

"Getting us all out of here even if that means partnering up with you." The Saltzman said, as Monica frowned, "This is an absolutely terrible idea."

Monica had trudged along, as Josie and Kai exchanged answers for answers. With Lizzie on her mind, she had stopped keeping up with what the relatives were talking about. Where had Lizzie gone? Monica wanted to search for her, but she couldn't bear to even think of letting Kai near Lizzie. Surely he'd follow her.

Currently Josie was showing Kai a vile of blood, belonging to Bonnie Bennett. Realising this, Monica's eyes widened in surprise. "Josie— no!" She blurted out, before speeding forward to grab it from the Saltzman.

The Montgomery didn't know what to do, but she knew she couldn't let Kai have it. So the blonde did the only thing she could and ran, with Josie running after her.

"Immobilus." Kai casted a spell, causing Monica and Josie to freeze in place, the vile still tightly gripped in Monica's hand. Kai and now Jade, approached them as Kai simply took the vial from the Montgomery's hand. "Hey, thanks for your help. Your instincts were right. There is no trusting me. So, while you've been playing checkers I've been playing chess. Checkmate." He said, walking away as the girls could only just watch.

"Yeah, I guess I forgot to mention one thing about the whole Hunger Games I'm kinda into it. Keeps the monotony interesting. Once they woke me up, they quickly realized my superior leadership qualities. They're kind of like my followers, I guess you could say." Kai continued to talk. "You can keep your lousy Sandclock. I'll be gone before it breaks." He said as Josie's eyes widened in surprise. "Oh, chin up. You're new at conning people. You'll get better at it."

Kai then turned to Jade, "Take her to Ric. Don't kill her yet. Make them both suffer." He ordered. "What about the vampire?" Jade asked. Kai glanced at Monica before he smirked, "Kill her first, make sure Ric and Joanie watch."

Monica furrowed her eyebrow in frustration, as she felt helpless since they were still stuck in place. Kai gave Josie one last glance, "I couldn't have done it without you, kid."

As Monica and Josie were being escorted to Alaric, the blonde held out her hand to a confused Josie.

"I need to make sure that Kai doesn't go after Lizzie. Siphon as much magic from me as you can and save yourself and Ric." She spoke quietly as Josie nodded, before grabbing Monica's hand.

Once the red glow faded, Monica was gone, as a blur. "What the hell—" Jade snapped, turning around to fight Josie, but not before she was knocked to the ground. Josie took the moment to run.

Monica eventually came to a halt, upon seeing a crashed police car. She tensed up, seeing Lizzie inside. "Lizzie!" Monica cried out, as she raced over to the car. A desiccated Sebastian was in the backseat, but she had no time to question it, as all that currently mattered was her girlfriend being alive.

The Montgomery gently pulled Lizzie out of the car, as she examined her wounds. "Lizzie— baby please open your eyes." Monica said, as tears filled in her blue orbs, as she feared that she was going to lose her girlfriend.
