It had been a couple of days since the new close friendship had started between the dormant werewolf and the not so heartless vampire, and the other Salvatore students seemed just as shocked as they were about it. Unlike others that tried so hard to be Monica's friend, Ruby was just being her usual loving self.

Currently, Ruby was seated in front of her vanity, as Monica styled her hair. The werewolf cringed at the pain of her hair being tugged, but then looked in the mirror to see that she had a cute half up half down space buns look. Ruby smiled at her hair and looked to Monica, "This looks so cute! Thanks Mon!"

Ruby then stood up and was now beside Monica, wearing her new silver hoop earrings that she had bought to match with the blonde vampire. "Anytime, it suits you." Monica smiled.

Suddenly, Hope entered the dorm and Monica's face faltered, as she gave her a blank look. Ruby, who was only managing small talk with Hope, turned around to face her roommate and crush. "Morning."

The tribrid, who seemed extra happy today, walked over to the werewolf and admired her hairstyle, "Wow Ruby! You look beautiful! That hair style suits you so much!" She spoke with a grin. Monica wore an expression of confusion upon seeing the Mikealson's behaviour. Ruby, who felt like Hope was just trying extra hard to get back in her good books, just smiled back. "Thanks."

Hope left the room, as Ruby and Monica exchanged confused looks. "What the fuck has gotten into sad little Mikealson?" The blonde asked as Ruby silently shrugged, just as unsure.

Ruby let out a laugh, as she had thrown a small piece of bread at her twin who had his mouth open to catch it, as it had landed on his tongue. "Impressive." The werewolf admitted. Rafael chuckled, as Landon watched the twins while he ate his food.

Monica and Penelope walk passed as the tall vampire gave Ruby a little wave. Ruby smiled and waved back, as Landon and Rafael looked at the pinkette, a bit confused. "Since when were you two all buddy-buddy?" Rafael asked. Ruby shrugged, "Since I treated her like a friend instead of an idol, unlike everyone else." She admitted, as Landon and Rafael looked at eachother, unsure what that meant. This caused Ruby to facepalm.

Suddenly, Hope joined their table as she placed down her tray of food and took a seat beside Landon. "Morning handsome!" She chimed, seeming eerily happy. Rafael gave Ruby a puzzled look, to which she shrugged in response.

"Mmm. Sweet, sweet carbs." Hope said, eyeballing the plate infront of her. "Somebody's in a really good mood." Landon admitted as the tribrid shrugged, "Hmm. Just woke up on the right side of the bed, I guess."

"For the first time ever?" Ruby asked, as she had never seen Hope like this. The Mikealson just giggled, before saying in a tone that almost seemed flirty, "You're so funny. I love that about you."

Josie and Lizzie approached their table. Ruby waved at them excitedly, as Josie gave her a wave back. "Good morning guys." Lizzie chimed. "Hi. Uh, how was your trip?" Rafael asked the twins. "Excellent. Thank you." Lizzie answered him.

"And welcome back, Landon." Josie spoke, smiling at the Kirby who just frowned at her, "Didn't you vote me out?" He asked honestly as Ruby deadpanned her foster brother, "That's all in the past."

Lizzie clapped her hands together, "Now, is everyone as excited as I am about tonight?" She asked eagerly. Rafael raised an eyebrow as he asked, "What's happening tonight?" Josie answered her twin, "The school's annual talent show. All the factions compete."

Hope spoke up in a chipper voice, "You know, the witch performance wouldn't be the same without you two!" The twins seemed a little surprised by this but smiled in response, "Thank you."

Suddenly, an announcement was made through the PA, the voice belonging to Alaric. "If I could have your attention. Last night we were able to capture a monster here on the grounds. We have everything under control. But given this potential danger, it is with a heavy heart that I must postpone the talent show. Hopefully, we'll be able to reschedule this... unique event... at a later date. A much, much later date."

Ruby looked at the twins with an awkward glance, as their smiles dropped. "Kind of overkill if you ask me. I told your dad that a unicorn barely counts as a monster." Hope said as the werewolf looked at her roommate in surprise. "You never told me there was a unicorn on campus!" She blurted out. Hope smiled at Ruby, "We haven't really been talking much lately at all."

Touché.

Lizzie's voice boomed through the PA now, "Good news, friends. The talent show is going on as previously scheduled."

"So, Lizzie's acting weird." Landon declared, turning to Rafael and Ruby. "She's not the only one." Ruby admitted, as an eerily happy Hope was standing beside Landon.

"Babe. We should do a talent." The tribrid suggested. "What? Uh, you and me?" Landon asked with shock. "I never wanted to before 'cause I would have had to do it alone. But now I have you. And we make up our own faction. The tribrid and you." She gleamed. "Yeah, all right, yeah. Team Other."

The pair shared a kiss. Ruby sadly watched the pair, before feeling a tap on her shoulder. The pinkette turned around, her eyes meeting Monica's. "Hey Mon!" She greeted, putting on a smile. "Hey Ruby, do you want to do a talent??" She asked, her voice also being weirdly chipper. Ruby looked puzzled by her change in demeanour, "But isn't it divided into factions?" She said. Monica shrugged, "I'm sure I could pull a few strings."

"Then sure!"

The duo walked off, their arms linked together as Hope watched Ruby leave the room, a look of longing in her eyes, that Landon caught.

Now in the theatre, the friends were preparing themselves. "You know... I don't sing much. It's pretty casual really." Ruby confessed, as the vampire and werewolf duo were sitting on the edge of the stage, microphones in hand.

"Oh come on, I'm sure you sound amazing!!" Monica declared as Ruby laughed nervously, as she blushed slightly. "That is a lot of praise considering you have never heard me sing." She admitted. "Well come on, what are you waiting for? Sing something to me." The blonde ordered, eagerly.

Ruby wondered what to sing. Having an idea she brought the microphone to her mouth, clearing her throat before she started to sing. "Get your hands off my hips, before I punch you in the lips. Stop your staring at my.. Hey! Take a hint, take a hint." Monica, recognising the song, smiled excitedly. "No, you can't buy me a drink, let me tell you what I think. I think you could use a mint." Ruby got to her feet, as did Monica. "Take a hint, take a hint."

Monica clapped her hands together, "Encore, encore!" She cheered as Ruby shook her head, embarrassedly. "I.. I think I'm good." She laughed. "Well then— its my turn! Let me just plug in the microphone cord.."

Monica raced over to the power socket, microphone plug in hand, though for some unknown reason when she pushed the plug into the socket, she received a small electrical shock.

"Monica!" Ruby blurted out, as she raced over to her. Monica, who seemed puzzled, looked at the ground to see a slimy green bug, that had fallen out of her ear. "Ew!!" She yelped, lifting her heel to stomp on it.

"No!" Ruby almost screamed, catching the vampire's attention. "It could be the next monster! We need to show Dr Saltzman!" She declared, looking for some sort of container to trap it in. "God that's so gross.. that came out of my head!?" Monica blurted, completely disgusted.
