09 | we're being punked pedro
"These asshats need to learn how to spell." Monica announced, as she stood alongside Kaleb while Lizzie and MG was trying to scrub paint, which said SALVATORE IS 4 LOOSERS, in purple print.
After a moment, Lizzie sighed and spoke in an impatient voice. "Come on MG, any slower and you're be going in reverse." MG turned to the Saltzman, "Look, I'm doing the best I can without vamping in public." Kaleb scoffed at him condescendingly, "That's just plain pitiful, bruh."
Lizzie turned to give Kaleb an annoyed look before she reminded him, "Well, at least he's trying. I don't see you two pitching in.." She looked between Kaleb and Monica.
"Cause this whole thing's fucked." Monica shrugged before Kaleb agreed, "What, we get punished for wanting to win a game fair and square?" Kaleb asked as MG looked at him as though the answer was obvious. "It wasn't fair. We're supernatural, they're human." MG reminded the group. "And Lebron's maybe the best player ever. Should he quit scoring because no one on the court can check him?" Kaleb clapped back.
"We're faster and stronger..." Monica crossed her arms before Kaleb chuckled, "We're better. And we ain't got nothing to apologize for." He declared.
Lizzie just ignored Kaleb, deciding not to push the issue further before she looks to Monica. "What's your reason for not helping?" She demanded.
The vampire looked around before she walked forward, snatching the sponge out of MG's hand. "Because when nobody is looking, I'm just going to do this." Monica explained, before she began to scrub the wall, using her vamp speed and strength. After a moment she pulled her hand away, revealing a clean patch on the wall.
A few moments later Connor, Dana, and a few more of their friends, from Mystic Falls High School approach them. Connor was holding a milkshake in his hands and has a smug grin on his face.
"Hypothetical question..." Connor began, approaching them. "How bad would it suck if whoever did this graffiti just came back tonight and put it right back up again?" He asked. Lizzie rolled her eyes before deciding to fire a snarky comment right back, "Well, whoever it is, I hope he improves his spelling."
Monica and Kaleb chuckled in amusement, which caused the Mystic Falls kids' smiles to fall. Connor and Dana seem embarrassed that their crush, Monica (yes, both of them like her), was laughing at them. Dana, decided to look for another way to get a shot at Lizzie, looked around before setting her focus on Monica.
"Hey Monica." She hummed flirtatiously, causing Lizzie's face to drop. Monica just raised an eyebrow as she looked confusedly at Dana. "Hi." She replied blankly, annoyance in her voice as Dana looked disappointed to her reaction. Lizzie noticed this and then smirked slightly, before taking a step forward to stand beside Monica.
Dana and Connor glanced at eachother, Dana with a slightly pleading look. Monica noticed this and frowned, wondering what they were up to. Not a moment later, Connor rapidly ripped the top off of his cup and threw the contents at Lizzie. The strawberry milkshake drenched the poor witch, and she leg out a gasp as it hit her.
"Oh!" Connor gasped fakely, "That's my bad. My bad." He said while Dana laughed loudly, before glancing at Monica, hoping she too would be laughing, but she looked completely unamused. The group soon move along and Lizzie stormed away, fighting back tears.
Monica went to go back to scrubbing, but froze, before she turned back to Lizzie, who was leaving. She didn't want to go after her and to have to hear her ranting, but then she thought about it; this was a one way ticket to getting out of cleaning.
"Lizzie! Hey!" Monica called out, trying to catch up to her without vamp speeding. Lizzie stopped and turned around reluctantly, as she didn't want Monica to see her in such a state.
Monica stopped in front of the siphon. "Where are you going?" The vampire asked her. "Back to school to tell my Dad that he's a complete jerk!" Lizzie growled, getting angry. Monica nodded absently, "Hey look I'll come with you. Once we get out of view, I'll vamp speed us back to school." She suggested as Lizzie sniffled before nodding.

Now back to the school, Lizzie and Monica approached the doors of Alaric's office. Lizzie lead the way as she marched into the office with an expression of pure rage, whole still covered in the milkshake Connor threw at her. Monica boredly followed behind her, hoping to see Lizzie give Alaric a piece of her mind.
"You are a total jerk!!" Lizzie yelled before she slammed the door to the office closed behind her. Alaric stood to his feet to greet her, seeming alarmed while Emma was curious to why Lizzie was upset. The headmaster then noticed that his daughter was covered in milkshake. "Lizzie— what happened to you?"
"A Neanderthal from Mystic Falls High assaulted her with a milkshake." Monica explained as Alaric just looked to the vampire, "Thanks Lizzie."
"This stupid girl Dana was being—" Lizzie overwhelmed with anger, stopped herself mid-sentence and took a deep breath to try to calm herself down. "You know what? I can't even talk about it. But now Hope and Josie are all sisters in solidarity, but... as I was walking home, I did the work and dug deep and realised... That this is all his fault." Lizzie declared, pointing at Alaric.
Alaric looked at his daughter in complete surprise, whilst Monica was trying (and failing) to hold back a laugh. "This is riveting.." She admitted, earning an unamused look from Emma.
"How is this my fault?" Alaric asked in shock. "Because if you had just been at that game instead of running around with Hope, then everything would've gone differently. And it is not fair that she gets to know secrets that your own daughters don't." Lizzie concluded while Emma glances between Lizzie, Monica and Alaric before saying, "She has a point..."
"Not helping!"
Lizzie stared her father with tears in her eyes, "I am not going back there." She decided. Monica turned to Alaric, "Yeah neither am I." She decided, placing her hand on her hip. Alaric sighed before he nodded, "Okay, that's fine. Um, why don't you go help the primary school kids out in the garden?"
Lizzie removed her glare from Alaric before she faced Emma. "At least now you know why I am so screwed up." She huffed, before she turned and left from the office, followed by Monica.

Lizzie decided to lay herself down on one of the stone seats in the garden and grumbled to herself as she looked up at the sky. Monica sat on the other stone seat across from Lizzie, taking off her heels and crossing her legs.
Pedro saw the pair of blonde girls and wandered over to talk to them. "Aren't you supposed to help?" He asked. Lizzie sighed exhaustedly and sat up to look at him. "Consider this a life lesson, Pedro. People disappoint."
A sound like stones grinding together could be heard behind Lizzie and Monica, and Pedro's eyes widened in fear. "..That statue just moved!" Pedro stated as Monica frowned, before she and Lizzie turn around to find a gargoyle statue behind a bush, metres away from them,
Lizzie rolled her eyes and decided to complain about her current dilemma, to Monica and Pedro. "Good one. I mean, I deserve to know what's happening just as much as Hope! I'm his freaking daughter!" She huffed. The noise was heard once more, and Pedro continued to look alarmed, "It's doing it again!"
Lizzie and Monica turned around yet again and look back at the gargoyle, who was no longer standing behind the bush— it had moved half the distance from which it was just located and is now within feet of Lizzie, who frowned but was still unconcerned.
"We're being punked, Pedro. The sixth grade witches are learning illusion spells this semester." Monica shrugged, turning back to the young boy. The sound of grinding stone was now accompanied by a low growl and several loud thumping noises as Pedro tried to get either of the blondes to pay attention. "It's.... It's... It's..."
Lizzie sighed and rolled her eyes, "Let me guess... it's right behind me?" She asked, turning around to prove herself right, only to be shocked to find that the gargoyle had disappeared entirely. Pedro looked around and gasped when he realised that the statue was now standing behind him. Suddenly, the gargoyle's eyes opened to reveal glowing red irises as it bared its teeth at the young boy.
"Lizzie! Moni!" Pedro screamed in fear as the girls turned back toward the younger student and were horrified to find the gargoyle taking large steps towards them with its sword pointed in their direction.
Lizzie grabbed Pedro by the hand and pulled him away from the creature. "Pedro! Run!" Monica ordered, slipping her feet back into her heels.
The gargoyle chased them, though Monica hastily grabbed onto the duo and used her enhanced speed to get them to the front of the school. "Get inside, Pedro!" Monica ordered as Pedro quickly nodded and raced off to get help.
"Now what? Are we really fighting a.. statue?" Monica asked, in disbelief that this was even happening. "I need you to give me your hand." Lizzie ordered, holding her hand out to Monica. The vampire nodded taking it as Lizzie's hand began to glow red as she siphoned some magic from her.
The duo watched as the gargoyle came closer, before Lizzie called out, "Imperium monstrum!" Though to Monica's surprise, the gargoyle lunged towards Lizzie and cut her, with its clawed hand. "Aah!" She screamed out in pain.
"Oh my god— get away from her!" Monica yelled angrily, as she raced over and struck the gargoyle. "Oh shit... Lizzie." Monica blurted, looking at Lizzie, who was now laying unconscious on the floor.
"Lizzie? Hey, wake up." Monica demanded, shaking her. It was strange, majority of the time, Monica couldn't give a damn about the Saltzman, but now, feared she could be dead, she was terrified for her.
Lizzie's eyes flew open, but she couldn't speak, and only whimpered in fear. "Thank god you're awake." Monica confessed, relieved.
Alaric, who had been alerted by Pedro, raced over to the pair now, "Oh, my God, Lizzie!" He spoke with panic, as he raced to his daughter's side. "Lizzie, baby, come here... Oh, what happened? What happened? Can you...?" Lizzie was unable to give him any information about what has just occurred so Alaric looked to Monica for an explanation. "A... a statue attacked her!" Monica confessed, feeling like she must have sounded crazy.
"She isn't moving. Why... why isn't she moving?" Alaric asked worriedly. "I don't know, I can give her my blood-" Monica went to suggest but Alaric instantly shut down the idea.
Alaric looked back down at Lizzie and suddenly realised that she has three, long deep gashes inflicted by the gargoyle, which seemed to be turning gray and stone-like in appearance.
