02 | enter, queen bee
Walking through the corridors of the Salvatore school, Lizzie bit back a smile as her eyes landed on a popular blonde haired girl. Continuing her tour she declared, "Now if you look to your right, you will see the girl that everyone wants, or wants to be. She also happens to be everyones most and least favourite student in the school."
Rafael looked to his right, as his eyes landed on a girl with long blonde locks and bright blue eyes. Her hair swayed side to side as she confidently strode down the hallway, her heels clicking on the ground as she did.
"And that is?" Rafael asked, almost breathlessly. "That is Monica Montgomery, she is the school's queen bee. She's also a vampire and a stone cold bitch, so don't get on her bad side." Josie answered Rafael's question before she also looked over to Monica. "She's.. really beautiful and confident.." Josie added.
A confident smile grew on Lizzie's lips, before she waved to Monica. "Mon!! Hey!" She called out, causing Monica to spin around to face the group. The Montgomery wore a confident smile on her lips, that caused Lizzie's heart to flutter.
The vampire approached the trio, as the clatter of her heels soon came to a stop. "Hey girls." Monica greeted the twins, as one of her hands were sitting on her hips. "Who is this?" She asked, turning to Rafael before she looked him up and down. Rafael couldn't help but blush when Monica's eyes locked with his, causing her to smirk again.
"This is Rafael, he is new to our school." Josie explained. Monica then held a hand out to Rafael, "It's nice to meet you." She said, though her tone of voice sounded faux. "Uh.. It's nice to meet you too." Rafael replied , before shaking her hand.
"Are you girls going to the party tonight?" Monica then asked, retracting her hand from Rafael's as she turned to the twins. Josie opened her mouth to speak, but was cut off as her twin had beaten her to it. "Yep! We'll definitely be there, Mon!"
Monica grinned at Lizzie, "I guess I'll see you there." She declared, before she began to walk away, leaving the trio.
Lizzie and Josie then glanced at eachother, with big smiles. "Jo did you hear that?! It sounds like Monica is interested in seeing us at the party!" Lizzie blurted out, hardly containing her excitement. "Yeah but.. she'll probably be with the evil one." Josie sighed, referring to Penelope Park, Josie's ex girlfriend.
"Am I missing something here?" Rafael asked awkwardly, before the siphoners turned to him. "You girls made it out like she is a bitch.. why are you excited to see her at this party?" He added, seeming confused. "Because, everyone wants to be friends with the Monica Montgomery." Lizzie explained to him.
"Though she doesn't really seem to maintain friendships with others... it seems like she might be friends with Penelope, but that's the longest I've seen her keep somebody by her side." Josie admitting, as their IT girl seemed to be yet a mystery.

Monica approached the headmasters office. She pushed the doors open, finding Alaric, MG and a boy with curly hair, that she'd never met before. "Get him to the cellar!" Alaric ordered MG, as the vampire nodded
Seeming as though the stranger was in her way when she had strutted all this way to speak to Alaric, she used her strength to push him out of the way, but with so much force he slammed into the wall and fell to the floor, being rendered unconscious.
MG and Alaric's faces fell, before they looked to Monica. MG didn't dare to speak, terrified of the fellow vampire. "Monica!?" Alaric asked, angrily. "What? He was in my way and I had something very important to announce." The blonde declared, before crossing her arms. "And what would that be?" Alaric asked, already not happy with the girl.
"We're out of coffee. If it doesn't get refilled soon, I might go a little crazy..." Monica trailed off, with a grin. MG blinked in surprise, before looking down at an unconscious Landon, with sympathy. Alaric just sighed.
"Why is he going into the cellar, anyway?" Monica asked curiously. "We need to compel him to forget about this school.. but because he has vervain in his system, we can't compel him for at least 24 hours." Alaric explained.
Monica then shrugged, "I guess I did him a favour, he'll pass a lot of the time by sleeping." She admitted. "You don't need a hand do you? Maybe you can get some more coffee while Milton and I take this strange one down to the cellar." Monica the. suggested as MG cringed at being called by his first name, but was too scared to correct her.
Alaric just shook his head, "No thank you Monica, I think you have done more than enough." He declared. Monica just grinned before she turned on her heels, quickly giving them a wave. "Toodles!" She said before leaving the office.
Once the doors were closed MG lets out a loud sigh. "She used to be nicer." He admitted. Monica had been at the Salvatore school for two years now, and even though she had a bit of an attitude when she had first started, it was nothing compared to how she was now.
"I know, I know." Alaric replied to the vampire. "Monica has been through more than any seventeen year old ever should ever have to go through.." He began. "But that is no excuse for her terrible behaviour."

"Alright, all done." Hope declared, as she had aided Ruby to complete a bunch of tests, to help determine whether or not she carried the werewolf gene. They had a simple blood test done, by the school nurse, and then did a heap of physical tests, to see if she had any strength like her brother.
"No offence, but you're not as physically gifted as your brother." Hope admitted, as the pair sat on the pier now, dangling their legs over the edge. "Hey! I may not be able to throw a whole ass lawn mower, but I am fast." Ruby defended herself. Hope just laughed at how the Waithe was being so defensive, she couldn't lie she found it cute.
"How long did you say you've been here?" Ruby asked curiously. "I've been here since I was seven." The tribrid answered. "Oh wow.." Ruby trailed off before she had another question. "Do you think Rafi and I would fit in here?"
"Our whole lives we've been searching for a place that we can call home... but we've never been able to find it." The pink haired girl added reluctantly, as Hope's expression turned sympathetic.
Without realising it, Hope had reached out to place her hand atop Ruby's. "Yeah Ruby, I do." Hope said with a small smile, causing Ruby to smile back at her.
"...What about Landon?" Ruby then asked, as Hope removed her hand from the Waithe's. "Hope, Landon is my brother too. He is my family, as much as Rafi." Ruby insisted.
"You can't stop worrying about them for five minutes... can you?" Hope asked calmly, though Ruby grew annoyed by this comment and rolled her eyes. The pink haired girl stood up from the docks and began walking away.
"Where are you going?" Hope asked Ruby as she responded as she continued to walk away. "To find my brothers."
Hope turned back to the lake, though she closed her eyes and sighed to herself before getting to her feet to go after Ruby. She wasn't sure what it was, but she found herself drawn to the girl.

"Landon.." Ruby piped up, approaching the cell that the Kirby had been thrown into. Landon opened his eyes upon hearing his sister's voice, before he rushed over to the iron bars, facing Hope and Ruby.
"Ruby! Oh thank god." Landon spoke with a relieved expression, as his breathing began to slow.
"Hope.. Can you get me out of here?" Landon then asked, his eyes desperately trailing to the tribrid. Hope's face fell, before she shook her head, "Not yet. But you're not a prisoner here, I promise."
Landon and Ruby then looked at Hope as if she'd lost her mind. "I'm in a witch dungeon!" Landon spoke in a panic. Hope gives Landon a small, amused smile, "It's a werewolf transition space." She corrected him. Ruby faced Hope, "Cmon Hope this isn't fair, Landon isn't good with small spaces!" She explained.
Hope acknowledged Ruby's statement before she turned back to Landon, with a look of sympathy. "We won't keep you here long. No one expected you couldn't be compelled." She explained to him while Landon just looked frazzled, "I don't even know what that means!"
"MG tried to erase your memories of this place, but it didn't work." Hope tried to clear up, which caused Landon to laugh incredulously. "So now what? I'm a hostage?" He asked before he looked to his sister. "Where's Raf?"
"He's fine, Lan." Ruby assured him, with a weak smile. "And you're fine too." Hope quickly added, as Landon just looked at the tribid in disbelief.
"Look, compulsion doesn't work on people who take this herb called vervain. The town sheriff sometimes slips it into the coffee.. like at the gas station we were at this morning. It takes about a day to pass through your system, but you just have to wait it out." Hope explained to Landon. "Sure. Yeah, no big deal. Yeah, I'll just sit here alone in the witch dungeon with my thoughts." Landon spoke sarcastically, as Ruby looked at her foster brother with sympathy.
"Would you... I mean, could you... wait it out with me?" Landon asked the pair. Ruby went to agree, before she noticed that Landon particularly was looking to Hope. Hope responded by shaking her head, "I'm really sorry about all of this Landon.. But it was nice to see you again." She said, before she turned to leave.
Ruby sighed, before she approached the cellar door, noticing the lock and the unfortunate absence of a key to open it. "Please Ruby.. can you stay with me?" Landon then asked, pleadingly.
Ruby bit her lip, as she stood back from the bars now. "I'll do you one better." She said with a weak smile, as Landon gave her a confused look.
"I'll go find Rafael, and we'll both try find a way to break you free." Ruby suggested, knowing that more was accomplished when the twins worked together. Landon nodded eagerly, "Thank you."

Ruby found herself racing over to the grand stand, where everyone was watching some sort of witch sport game. Ruby approached Rafael who was sitting with Lizzie, before she plonked herself beside her twin.
Lizzie looked to the pink haired girl, remembering her from that morning, though she'd never caught her name. She opened her mouth to ask, but Rafael had been too quick to speak. "Ruby, where have you been?" The werewolf asked.
"With Hope, she showed me around the school but that doesn't matter, Landon he—" Ruby was cut off as someone in the crowd shushed her. She turned around to glare in the direction of where the sound came from.
Lizzie, wanting so badly to jump Rafael's bones, decided that she needed the approval of Ruby. "Hey, I remember you from earlier. I'm Lizzie! It's nice to meet you." Lizzie spoke up, offering her hand out to Ruby. Ruby seemed a little surprised but smiled back, "I'm Ruby. It's nice to meet you, Lizzie." Ruby responded, before the pair shook hands.
"Ruby, you gotta check out this cool game!" Rafael boomed, catching the attention of his twin. He then began to explain it to her, as they watched the game take place on the field. Ruby felt bad for momentarily forgetting about Landon.
Lizzie wanted Rafael's attention back on her, and despite being so nervous as she sat beside him, she wanted to talk to him. "Uh Rafael, I heard about your girlfriend." She spoke up. Rafael seemee unnerved by this change in topic, forcing Lizzie to anxiously explain herself. Ruby just looks at Lizzie in complete surprise, unsure why she would talk about this.
"Oh, I have spies everywhere. I'm nosy in that, like, charming way...?" Lizzie explained, putting on a smile. Rafael and Ruby don't seem to know how to react to this conversation. "Thanks, I guess..." Rafael answered awkwardly.
"On the plus side, we're all happy to know that you're single." Lizzie blurted out with a smile. Ruby's mouth fell open in surprise, before she asked, "Seriously!?" Rafael frowned, unimpressed as Lizzie's jaw dropped when she realizes what she's done.
"Oh, God. That was my inside voice. I am so sorry. Guys like you make me nervous." Lizzie admitted, trying to recover her mistake. The twins gave Lizzie a confused look. "Guys like me?" Rafael asked, still seeming annoyed. "You know... Hot... Angry..." Lizzie trailed off, hesitating before she continued, "Damaged..."
This conversation had clearly gone the opposite direction in which Lizzie intended, and Rafael's tone of voice was both angry and tired. "Yeah, well... I've sort of made a point in my life of, uh, keeping clear of girls like you. So, I guess my sister and I are gonna go find Landon." Rafael announced, standing up. He looked to Ruby, who also looked quite upset, yet relieved they were returning to Landon.
The Waithe twins stood up and exited the stands before walking away. As they headed back to the school, they left a horrified and upset Lizzie to cry in her seat.

Overwhelmed with emotion after her falling-out with Rafael, Lizzie was in the school kitchen, where she was using her powers to take out her frustrations. Screaming in anguish, Lizzie telekinetically pulled the dishes out of the cupboards, shattering them into many small pieces in the air before they fall to the ground. Once the plates had been smashed, she moved on to using figure gestures to summon knives in the air.
Monica walked into the kitchen, wanting to make a coffee, but she froze in place as Lizzie had flicked a knife in her direction, which stopped right in front of her face. Lizzie looked at Monica, with tears threatening to fall from her blue eyes.
Monica usually wouldn't intervene if she witnessed somebody having a breakdown, usually she couldn't care less... and depending on the person she might even laugh at them. But for some reason, as she looked at a trembling Lizzie, she felt awful for the girl.
The taller blonde lookes at Lizzie with sympathy, before asking. "Lizzie, are you okay?" Lizzie then fell to her knees, breaking down. Monica blinked in surprise, before she walked over to Lizzie, her heels clicking on the floor.
Monica had never seen another girl in such distress before. The vampire couldn't help but see herself, when she'd first walked in the door to find Lizzie breaking down. She had a lot of breakdowns in the past and would often throw things around similarly to how Lizzie did.. but what really hit home for Monica was how broken Lizzie looked.
"Hey... hey it's okay." Monica cooed, bending down to offer Lizzie a hand. Lizzie took the other blonde's hand, and got to her feet. She couldn't meet Monica's eyes, but her bottom lip trembled as she tried not to continue crying. "This is so embarrassing.." Lizzie admitted, as she couldn't believe the student she admired the most had witnessed her break down.
Monica shook her head, "But Lizzie, it's not embarrassing. It's okay to cry." The Montgomery spoke, before Lizzie fell into her arms, and cried again. Monica, surprised by this, awkwardly put her arms around Lizzie, before she gently rubbed her back.
Monica had never been like this with another student... or anyone. She never cared for others feelings.. but seeing Lizzie like this, made her heart sink. Monica had the mother of all breakdowns growing up, more than she'd like to admit, she knew it always helped to have someone to be there for you.
The kitchen door opens, as Alaric walked in, as Josie had warned him about Lizzie's break down. The headmaster looked shocked, seeing Monica of all people comforting his daughter. Hearing Alaric walk inside, Lizzie lifted her head and turned to her father. "Hi, Daddy." She spoke with a pained voice.
Despite the scare he just experienced, Alaric smiled warmly at his daughter as he walked toward her. "Hey, baby."
