The team was fighting the horde of Hydra agents side by side, trying to break through their line of defense so they could finally get inside. They had been out on the battle field all night long, and were now just barely getting to their last lines of defense. Whatever was in this base was extremely valuable to Hydra and they did not want it falling into the Avenger's hands.
"Are these mortals usually so inclined to best your band of misfits, Thor?" Loki asked his brother as he easily took on five Hydra agents at once.
"They are not normally so enthusiastic." Thor boomed happily, hitting one agent hard with his hammer, sending him flying back, crashing into the wall of the Hydra base with a defining crunching sound. "Consider yourself lucky, brother, that this is your first mission. Even you can't say that this mission has bored you."
Loki sighed, and with a flick of his wrist sent the upcoming three agents flying off to one side. "Don't get too ahead of yourself, Thor." Loki grumbled. "I previously had other plans arraigned for this weekend."
"Don't be like that, Loki. You're here to make amends to the people of Midgard. Not follow lady (y/n) around like a love sick calf."
"A love sick calf?" Loki growled with offense in his voice. "That's what you think of me?"
"I have seen the way you look at her when you think no one else is looking." Thor insisted, ignoring his brothers menacing growl. "You have developed... what do the Midgardian's call it? A crash? No... A mush? No, that's not it either.
"I believe the word your looking for, Thor, is crush." Natasha told him kindly, smirking over at Loki knowingly.
"Yes! That is it. Thank you Lady Natasha." Thor thanked Nat while he bashed another guy's head in with his hammer.
"I don't believe you were part of our conversation, Lady." Loki growled, glaring daggers at Nat and Thor, as to which they just both smiled innocently at him. "I have developed no... crush... on lady (y/n)."
The look both Nat and Thor gave him was doubtful.
"She is simply... fascinating." Loki supplied, trying to convince Nat and Thor of his lack of romantic interest in you.
It wasn't working.
"If I wanted to court lady (y/n) I would do so." Loki told them, not noticing how the team looked up at the dark sky upon hearing a very familiar whistling sound. "I am a prince after all." Loki continued. "I have faced many battles over the years. I am able to ask a woman out if I so wished."
The whistling sound was getting a lot louder, and now it was accompanied by a very familiar charging sound.
"Night Fury!" Nat yelled to the team.
"Get down!" Cap added.
The whole team hit the floor, not wanting to be in the crossfire's of a Night Fury's deadly plasma blast. Everyone, that is, expect for Loki.
"What, in the nine realms, are you...?"
Thor cut off his brother by jumping up and tackling him to the ground with a thud.
Loki was about to curse out Thor for being an absolute idiot, but just then what could only be described as a bright purple bomb struck the last of the remaining agents, killing most of them in an instant and sending the other flying.
Loki felt the air rush passed them, indicating that something big, fast and powerful just flew right over their heads. Fallowing the blast was a deafening roar that rung across the battle field announcing the presence of a certain teenager and her dragon.
"Always so dramatic." Nat muttered as she and the rest of the team stood up, brushing the dirt off their clothes.
Loki looked up to see the faint outline of a pitch black dragon circling back around.

After blowing about 50, or more Hydra agents Eclipse let out a mighty roar to announce your presence to the team.
'Like they don't know we're here.' You thought to yourself sarcastically. But in all honesty you absolutely loved showing off to people. It was so much fun. You were just extra like that.
"Mind if I crash the party?" You asked the team through the intercoms.
"Looks like Nick got my message." Came Tony's voice in your earpiece. "Glad you could join the fun."
"Ditto." You replied back happily. "Nick said you found a creature for me take care of?"
"Jarvis has picked up some vital signs of something... not earthly." Tony agreed. "I called you in just to be safe. We haven't seen it yet, so it might be nothing..."
Right on cue a louder, more deafening, blood chilling roar sounded across the battle field, shaking the ground by its shear volume.
Eclipse shook his head painfully. The loud roar hurting his extremely sensitive ears.
"It's never nothing." You grumbled to yourself. "Sounds like a dragon." You told the team, ignoring the confusion to how Hydra got their hands on a dragon in the first place. That wasn't important right now. "I'll take care of it. You guys go complete your mission and whatever you do don't get in-between me and that dragon."
"Copy that." Cap agreed. "Alright guys, you heard (y/n), no one is to interfere with her mission. Got it?"
There was a mumbling of agreement from the team which was a relief. The last thing you needed was for one of them to get in the way of two dragons fighting to try and help you. That was one of the fastest ways of getting yourself killed.
One of the heavy duty base doors began to open slowly, releasing the owner of the monstrous roar out onto the field to take you, and the rest of the team down.
You squinted down at the door, trying to see what kind of dragon you were going to have to deal with. Judging from its roar alone it was bound to be fairly big.
When the doors finally opened all the way up out charged, what looked liked, a dragon's skeleton.
It was a Boneknapper.
It took off into the brightening morning sky with vengeance, it's pure white armor of bones glistening in the early ray's of the morning sun.
"Well, at least we know what we're dealing with now." You commented dryly.
The Boneknapper looked out across the battle field, laying eyes on your team mates as they distractedly ran for the Hydra base.
Understandingly they were focused on the angry fire breathing skeleton that had just emerged from Hydra's evil clutches. Non of them had ever seen another dragon in real life before. Eclipse being the one and only dragon any of them had ever met. And the Boneknapper was a very strange looking dragon, even by dragon standards. It was only natural for them to be curious.
The Boneknapper locked eyes onto the team, diving down for the attack that the sure to be coming.
"Let's get this guy's attention bud." You told your dragon, the two of you speeding off to do just that.
*
"Remember Eclipse," you told your dragon as he was charging up his fire blast, "we don't want to hurt him, just get his attention."
Eclipse fired at the Boneknapper, hitting him right in the side where he was heavily shielded by his armor, knocking him off balance.
The dragon rolled through the air, trying to regain his balance, but couldn't. The Boneknapper hit the ground, rolling into full grown trees, knocking them down with his ginormous body. Another angry roar was heard, shaking the nearby leaves off their branches and making the ground rumble.
The Book of Dragons says that a Boneknapper's roar is so loud and powerful that it could melt the flesh right off your bones. You had never seen a Boneknapper before, let alone face one. You've only ever read about them. They were very ani-social. Keeping to themselves most of the time, so there wasn't a lot known about these spices of dragon. You've always just assumed that their mighty, flesh melting roar, was greatly exaggerated. After all, who's heard of a roar melting the flesh off of someone's bones?
Now that you were face to face with one you really didn't want to try out your hypothesis of it's roar being overly exaggerated.
The dragon got to its feet, shaking the broken branches, leaves, and dirt from its armor. It looked up to the sky, in search of the idiot who knocked him down.
You made eye contact with the Boneknapper and the fearsome dragon hesitated. You watched on as the dragon turned, looking off into the woods, debating whether or not to make a run for it and flee. You could see that the dragon wanted too. That it didn't want to fight. But suddenly the Boneknapper unexpectedly threw back its head, roaring out in pain. It locked eyes on you and Eclipse and rose into the sky.
You turned Eclipse, urging him off further over the woods and away from the team. You couldn't have either dragon accidentally hurting any of them. Looking back you were grateful to see the Boneknapper hot on your tail.
"Jarvis, can you do a full body scan of the Boneknapper?" You asked the AI, grateful Tony had installed him into your helmet. "I want to know if there's anything on him. Any implants, or pieces of tech."
"Of course miss." The AI replied formally.
The Boneknapper opened its ginormous mouth, full of razor sharp teeth, blasting a stream of orange fire at you.
"Watch it." You called out, turning your body in the saddle, facing forward again. Eclipse dived out of the way of the oncoming fire.
"I'm sorry miss." Jarvis apologized. "I cannot scan the dragon if you are not looking at it."
"I'm getting there Jarvis." You mumbled, pulling out of the dive and shooting up into the air, using the momentum from the dive for a super fast incline.
You turned, flying straight for the dragon.
The Boneknapper growled. Glaring at you at Eclipse, angry that it missed its target and charged you.
When the two of you got close enough the Boneknapper fired again, and again, Eclipse dived.
The two of you went under the dragon and in one smooth move did a giant loopty loop, circling the dragon from all sides, allowing Jarvis to scan the creature.
Pulling out of the loopty loop you thought you did a pretty good job of not getting hit, when the giant club, that was the dragons tail, hit Eclipse square in the stomach. Knocking the two of you off balance, sending the two of you crashing into the woods.
When Eclipse hit the ground you got launched out of the saddle, falling off your dragon as the two of you tumbled on the floor of the woods. You stood up, quickly going over to your dragon. "Eclipse, are you ok?" You asked him worryingly.
Eclipse got up, shaking his head, trying to clear it from the crash, but he purred assuring you he was alright. Dragons were build to hit the ground, their skeletons were slightly more flexible than a humans. So when they crashed they usually didn't get hurt.
The Boneknapper didn't waist any time. He flew down, right over your heads, firing a steam of fire into the woods where you were.
Eclipse reacted fast. Tackling you to the floor, shielding you form the fire with his body.
"There seams to be a small pice of tech latched onto the skin of the dragon." Jarvis told you while you were hiding under your dragon from the fire. "It is located at the back of the dragons head, right where the scull connects to the neck. A way of removal would be an electronic shock directly onto the device."
'Thanks Jarvis." You thanked the AI.
"My pleasure miss." Jarvis responded.
Eclipse let you out when the fire stopped. You stood up, taking in the forest that was now on fire.
"Right, lets go see if Tony has any toys for us to use." You told Eclipse as you swung up into the saddle.
Eclipse roared in agreement and the two of you too off towards the Hydra base in search of Tony.
*
When you got to the front entrance of the base you jumped off of Eclipse's back, rolling to your feet when you hit the ground to absorb some of the impact.
"Keep Bones's attention on you." You told Eclipse. I"ll be right back."
Eclipse roared in agreement, speeding off to go bug the Boneknapper you had just named Bones.
You ran inside the base, sprinting down halls and making left and right turns, fallowing the path Jarvis had given you to find Tony.
You found him with Natasha in a room filled with computers, collecting data from Hydra. The Iron Man suit Tony was wearing was standing guard at the door, making sure no Hydra agents could get in.
You, being an Avenger, had no problem getting passed Tony's suit. It just simply let you walk passed it.
"Tony." You called to him, making him and Natasha both jump a little. He looked over at you and smiled.
"Kid." Tony greeted you happily. "Did you already take care of the dragon? That was fast."
"No, not yet." You told him in a hurry. "Eclipse is keeping his attention right now. I was wondering if you have a piece of tech I could use?"
"What do you need?" Tony asked, going straight over to his Iron Man suit.
"Something that can shock. The dragon has a piece of tech on it and I need to use electricity on the device to get it off. I would ask Thor but its a small device, and I don't want to accidentally shock the dragon."
"Thor is too much of a live wire for such a delegate procedure." Tony agreed, taking out what looked like a red metal pencil from his suit. "This will pack a mean electronic punch. All you need to do is make contact with the device you want disabled. Place the pointy side on the device and click this button. That should do the trick."
"Great! Thanks Tony." You thanked him, taking the metal pencil thing from him and sprinting out the door.
"Be carful kid!" Tony called to you as you ran out the base.
*
Back outside the base you saw that Eclipse was doing a wonderful job at keeping Bones busy. He was flying around Bones, taunting him with his superior speed and agility.
"Lady (y/n)." Thor boomed happily upon seeing you. "What are you doing down here?"
You turned to see Thor and Loki escorting some Hydra agents to the awaiting SHIELD vehicles that has just arrived.
When Loki saw you he quickly came over, looking over you with worry. "I saw you and Eclipse go down in the forest." Loki explained. "Are you alright?"
"I'm fine Loki." You told your worried friend truthfully. "Nothing more than a few bruises that are sure to show up in the morning. As to why I'm down on the ground and not in the sky, I needed to get something from Tony. But now I need to get up in the air. Would you mind giving me a leg up Thor?"
"It would be a privilege Lady." Thor replied formally.
You nodded, yelling for Eclipse to come get you.
"A leg up?" Loki asked confused, and you could tell by the look in his eyes he was a little hurt you didn't ask him for help. That you asked his brother instead.
You nodded. "Its nothing personal Loki," you told him gently, so Thor wouldn't hear. "Its just, Thor has given me a leg up before and you haven't. If you want we can practice latter."
Loki nodded curtly, accepting your explanation as to why you asked Thor for help and not him. Even if he still was a little hurt.
When Eclipse got close enough you ran at Thor and jumped. Thor helped you out by taking your feet when you jumped and pushed you up into the sky, sending you flying upwards.
You gracefully landed on the back of you dragon, looking back to see Bones still chasing him.
Eclipse purred, happy to have you back, even if you had only been gone for a short amount of time.
"Good job bud." You told your dragon, placing a gentle hand on his head in gratitude. "Thanks for keeping Bones's attention. Now, I need to get on his back. Do you think you can help with that?"
Eclipse stretched out all four of his wings as far as they could go, slamming on the breaks.
Bones shot passed the two of you, not expecting you to stop so fast. He roared in outrage, glaring back at the two of you. He turned and charged. When Bones got close Eclipse tucked in his wings, letting gravity over take him as the two of you dropped towards the earth.
At the last second Eclipse opened his wings gliding a few feet above the trees before diving into the woods.
Bones tried to keep up as you and Eclipse weaved in and out of the trees in a practiced moment, but Bones was a lot bigger than Eclipse and a lot less agile. It was hard for him to keep up.
Bones roared in anger when he could no longer see you, loosing you in the thick brush.
"That sounds like our cue." You told Eclipse.
Eclipse shot up out of the woods, flying over Bones without him noticing, allowing you to jump off of your dragon's back and land gracefully onto Bones.
Bones whipped his head around to see what had just landed on his back. When he saw you he snarled, a warning to get off his back. He then flew up out of the trees, he could move around better in the open sky.
When he was high in the sky he turned his attention to you, turning his head and snapping at you with his razor sharp teeth.
You maneuvered around on the dragon's back, using the bones of the dragon's armor as handles to help you get onto his neck without falling off.
Bones on the other hand was flipping through the air, trying his best to dislodge you from his back.
While Eclipse, was trying to keep up with Bones. Positioning himself in the best place to catch you if you fell.
It was all a beautiful, deadly, arial ballet.
You managed to secure yourself fairly well on the back of the dragon's neck, making sure you were arm's distance from his head so you could reach the small device that was there.
Bones turned his head to the left, opening up his armor at the base of his head just enough so you could finally see the small piece of tech that was causing this dragon so much pain. It was a small disk like device, that had little claw like legs so it could dig into the victim's skin.
The disk made a crackling noice, sending a painful shock to the dragon. Making Bones roar out in pain as he tossed his head around.
"That looks painful." You told the dragon gently, waiting for the opportunity to reach in and get the device off of him. "But if you just let me help I can fix it."
Bones wasn't listening, and even if he was he couldn't understand you.
When Bones turned his head to the left again you waisted no time and shoved your arm in between his armor. You managed to get Tony's tech in place and push the button but the torture disk went off once more before it was rendered useless.
Bones threw his head to the right, and with a sickening crunching sound your arm was crushed in between two ginormous dragon bones.
You yelled out it pain.
Getting your arm crushed between bones was not a pleasant feeling. Luckily it only lasted a few seconds before the dragon turned his head again, allowing you to take your arm out from where it was. With all the chaos, and your now broken arm, Bones finally managed to throw you off his back.
Eclipse didn't let you fall for long though. He dived down, wrapping his two front arms around your torso, holding you to his chest.
He looked down at you with concern in his eyes. You felt his chest vibrate, asking if you were ok.
"I'm fine bud." You told him, gritting your teeth. Your arm was broken. You knew that the moment it got crushed, but you couldn't focus on that right now. "Help me up?"
Once you got back on the back of your dragon you saw that Bones was mad. He was beyond mad, he was furious.
Bones was circling over the Hydra base, watching as the Hydra agents were escorted out and thrown into the awaiting SHIELD vehicles. It almost looked like he was looking for someone. That's when a group of Hydra scientists walked out.
Bones locked eyes on their group and roared in outrage, diving down, going in for the attack.
