"Did anyone question you?" Merin asked her.

"No," Flare said, looking down. Merin nodded in acknowledgment.

"Does anyone know?" Merin said.

"Now they do" Flare said, clenching her fists angrily. Merin could tell she was NOT happy at all.

"Ok." Merin said, then paused. "How?" She said. "How are you a death eater? How is this possible?"

"A-are you scared of me?" Flare said, avoiding Merin's question.

"No." Merin said honestly. She wasn't afraid. Flare didn't seem to have any bad intentions.

"Well." Flare said, "I'm sorry."

"Why?" Merin said.

"Because you have to be friends with me." Flare said, receiving a laugh from Merin.

"I don't have to do anything." She said rebelliously.

"Yeah, yeah." Flare said, a slight smile forming on her lips. "But... Everyone hates death eaters."

"But I don't hate you." Merin said, then quickly added, "You never gave me a reason to hate you."

"Yeah..." Flare said.

"So come on. We can't stay in the Forbidden Forest for too long." Merin said, smiling warmly.

Flare smiled back, "ok." She said, "Let's go back to school." And with that, they walked back to Hogwarts
